I went here with a friend after visiting a local makers market on a Sunday afternoon. We were hot from the heat wave and very hungry. We found this restaurant about 14 minutes away based and the Google reviews we saw were around. 4 stars. The prices seemed pretty average for the area. When we arrived, there was plenty of open parking lot available. The restaurant was cool with the air running and everything looked pretty clean. Booths maintained and multiple places to sit. The service was excellent. Our server greeted us with refreshing ice waters, which were very appreciated in this heat wave. When I asked if they had soda, she pointed out the different options on the menu and came back with my Coke in a can with a plastic straw--I was THRILLED by that detail with the presentation. The food was fantastic! I ordered the fried rice, and it was flavorful and a great size dish. The appetizer arrived timely before our entrées (as should), and everything was nicely presented. Our server was friendly and happy to answer our questions. They provided takeout containers, and I brought some leftovers home. My boyfriend finished them off and really enjoyed the food as well. We also let one of our pet rats, Ratholio, have a bite, and he enjoyed it too--granted he's not super picky. Overall, this was a wonderful experience. This is second time giving the food a try, I LOVE thai but I went a few years ago and the pad Thai was gross so I just continued to go for beverages like iced coffee, thai tea and mango sticky rice. The pad see ew was actually really good! My only complaint is they used regular broccoli and not Chinese broccoli and portion size was fairly small. The mango sticky rice is always good and consistent! People working here were friendly, greeting me when I went to pick up my order . My husband and I have ordered from Thai Heaven Restaurant on several occasions, most recently this past Saturday. There are not many Thai restaurants (that I know of) in the immediate area, so they are our go-to when we are in the mood for the cuisine. The food is always consistently and the prices are comparable to other Thai restaurants. The staff at Thai Heaven is friendly, when I place my order online, it is ready within the time frame provided. I have only enjoyed carry-out from here, but if you're looking to dine-in, there is seating inside. The venue is very quaint. "Tasty hole-in-the-strip-mall brings no heat." I did takeout so let me get the service out of the way: my food was ready for me, payment / pickup was efficient. They don't do paper menus anymore, I was told. In a time of wildly-swerving prices, I can't blame them. When I get a head cold, I go looking for Thai food. And when I order "Thai spicy", I want my scalp to sweat, my nose to run, my eyes to water. I want that first spoonful of Tom Yum to show me a searing flash of the Divine before blasting the flesh (and mucus) off my skull like the Terminator 2 playground scene. Measure those chilis with your heart, uncle. I had Tom Yum "Hot", Panang curry "Thai Spicy", and chive pancake. The Tom Yum was nice (not spicy), the curry fine but blander than the soup, and the chive pancakes with good allium flavor but an odd-to-me sort of gloopy texture. I have not had the pancakes before, but imagined it to be crisp outside and soft inside. If that's correct, I blame myself for ordering fried food, takeout, in Feb. In that spirit, I look forward to a future dine-in visit, to retry the pancakes and see if I can persuade the chef that I am here for the prawn cracker, not the Cracker Barrel. read more

They had a large group when we arrived so they were very busy tonight but it was well worth the wait. Their flavors are fabulous from the curry to the chef's special sauce to the Kaprow. Service is always with a smile and the Thai Iced Tea is refreshing and well-balanced. We started tonight with Thai iced tea and the fish cake appetizer. The fish cakes have their red curry sauce incorporated into the cakes and the dipping sauce was perfect. I couldn't keep my fork out of son's street style noodles and he kept mooching from my crispy chicken. Both dishes were delicious. We took home a red curry with chicken and mango sticky rice which we enjoyed later. We have not found any inkling of disappointment within the walls that hasn't been eliminated by the friendly service and quality of the food. Definite gem just a few miles from UMBC campus. Quite a small place. Wife placed the order for pickup at 5:15. Was not ready. There were 2 couples eating there. Also we're drivers for door dash and Uber eats waiting to pickup. So a lot of business is done through delivery. So we ended up waiting probably 20 more minutes because they were getting the delivery orders done. While waiting, i paid for the food and just stood there waiting. So after everyone else left, I stood there quietly waiting and then she inexplicably brought out the food, dropped it on the table and walked away. Well, that seemed a bit less than friendly. Granted there were only two people running this restaurant (so it seems to me) but it wasn't like they were too busy to be at least be courteous. When we got home to eat, I found the portions to be a bit on the small size. It tasted good, which makes it to 3 stars. I do not like making negative reviews, but place is just not good. Mango sticky rice and crab Rangoon are my favorite things to order at thai restaurants and both dishes were so bad. My daughter gagged and spit the food out when she tried the sticky rice. Like this was the worst sticky rice I've ever ordered in my life, and the mango was brown and beginning to rot. something weird was going on with the red sauce for the rangoons, and the crispy part is the worst quality of dumpling wrapper that exists. I also ordered pad thai, and paid extra for added vegetables and there was hardly any vegetables. It was the only tolerable thing I ordered but still below average and bland. I can see why the place was empty. has me feeling like Maryland is a wasteland for decent food and makes me extremely hesitant to try new restaurants because it's a real gamble every time out here. read more

It has been getting more and more difficult to defend Thai heaven within the last couple years. I want all small businesses in our neighborhood to succeed, but thai heaven is one of the biggest examples of "shrinkflation" that I've personally noticed "post covid". The food is still pretty good but I no longer feel like I got my moneys worth at the end of the day. I have 20+ years in the foodservice industry so I'm well aware of the rising costs of food, labor, rent, and other operating costs. This used to be our favorite place for local Thai but we won't be going back after today. We ordered over an hour before close and when we got our food the crab rangoon was completely burnt and looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The two entrees we order (our usual) tasted like they had also been sitting out for awhile and were just reheated. The noodles were so mushy from being reheated and it was very oily/greasy (it gave us an instant stomach ache from the oil). We were not able to decide the spice level which also leads me to believe the food was already prepared before we ordered. The spring rolls were so fresh with the sweet tasty sauce. Finally, the REAL KICKER was the chicken wonton soup. I'd forgotten how much loved Thai wonton soup. It checked all of my taste boxes when I took the first sip of the broth, first tender chew of the wontons until the last sip of the broth with spring onion and fresh chopped pieces of garlic. The only two small negative things were they did not include a plastic soup spoon and the papaya salad container leaked-. A good bit of the papaya salad juice went into the plastic bag. It's a good thing that had no leaks. If it did, it would have been a terrible wet a sticky situation. They need to buy containers that don't leak at all. Also, they need to supply some napkins too. One of the authentic Thai food restaurants in the area, Thai Heaven serves pretty spicy and delicious Som Tum papaya salad with fermented crab and fish . The spiciness level can be adjusted to your likings. for me! The smoky charred flat noodle with marinated pork in gravy sauce reminded me of Lard Na noodle in Bangkok. I liked this place for lunch. I am not an aficionado when it comes to Thai cuisine. I have only two other times eaten Thai food. That being said, I know what's good, and this was GOOD. The other two times at a Thai restaurant, I got Pad Thai. I went out on a limb and got Red Curry with chicken. I'm used to Indian style curry where it is thicker in consistency. Thai curry, at least at Thai Heaven, uses coconut milk in the recipe. At first, when I looked at it, I had trepidation, and I thought why do I always go out of my comfort zone? I'm GLAD I DID. It was so good. The chicken was cooked to perfection. The curry tasted delectable. All the veggies were fresh and had a slight crispness. Service Service is prompt, polite, and professional. Easy to communicate with staff over the phone and in person. They accepted my order ahead of time (I called at 12:30 pm for a pick up order to be ready at 2:15 pm) -- the order was ready when I arrived at 2:20 pm making pick up seamless. Food I ordered the lunch of green curry with tofu ($8.95) and extra vegetables ($2 extra). One order of vegetable spring rolls (it comes with 2) ($4.95). One Thai iced tea. The food was hot; the tea was cold! :) The curry has a nice mild spicy, not too spicy, with a nice curry flavor. I love green curry; if you do too, this won't disappoint. The veggies and tofu were well cooked and most veggies seemed like they were probably fresh, not from a pre-cut frozen bag (e.g. the carrots were probably from a pre-cut frozen bag, but the broccoli and eggplant seemed fresh). Note that this is a LOT of veggies - they didn't skimp on the $2 extra for the veggies. I imagine the ratio of veggies:curry:rice is better for their normal curry (without my additional of extra veg). The spring rolls are mostly noodles inside, but who doesn't love a good fried app with some tangy spicy and sweet dipping sauce. The Thai iced tea was tasty - very sweet. Price Pretty reasonable for the curry; it's a nice price for lunch, which they currently offer between 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. The spring rolls seem a little pricey. They're small and don't have many veggies in them. The tea was an average price; maybe a slightly small cup, but given how sweet it is, I don't want more of it. Overall, I'd eat here again!!
