Growing up eating Pho around the Denver area, Pho Saigon is a new-ish establishment outside of the Little Saigon area. In Englewood, this place is pretty convenient for people who live in the south suburbs to visit and the quality is pretty much on par with the Pho found in Little Saigon. FOOD: I typically get a combo vermicelli bowl or a pho with all of the meats (from rare steak to tripe). When ordering pho, the small is still pretty large. I typically get a medium and I barely finish that. The broth is very tasty and the noodles are great. I find overall the food quality at Pho Saigon to be good! I have some some non-traditionalists go at the food, but overall, upon getting a bowl of pho, just add a little basil and bean sprouts and you're good to go! I really like this place since it is close to home. I have never gotten anything else, so I can't comment on that, but for a Vietnamese place, I'd like to stick with Vietnamese. Very rude staff as the owner refused to serve to the people with kids. The owner even tried to charge the gratuity after humiliating us and didn't even come to the table after serving. We did not get any services plus one of our dishes was missing. She said if I refuse the gratuity, we should not come back. Yay, finally found an alternative to good Vietnamese food in DTC. I usually go towards Federal, but this area is much cleaner and safer. Soup portion are on the large side so keep that in mind especially when ordering starters. Plenty of beef slices and noodles. Highly suggest the egg rolls which were made right served with vermicelli noodles, marinated carrots and cucumbers and plenty of herbs and lettuce to wrap them in. My pho craving was satisfied at this spot, and I will return! I called 30 minutes before closing for a take out order of pho and wontons. I received excellent, polite service regardless of the fact they were nearing close time. The quality of my food was not compromised, and the staff was delightful when I entered for pick up. I used to come here for lunch all the time & felt the food was hot & fresh. Tonight was a completely different story. I ordered the lo mein with tofu & vegetable. The noodles were all stuck together & tasteless & the broccoli on the plate was all yellow... a sure sign it was super old. The tofu was tough & overcooked. The carrots were the only good thing on the plate. Our server never checked on us & it was not busy. Seems like they are a decent place to get lunch & a horrible place to get dinner. Pho Saigon has what one would expect on a decent Vietnamese menu, and the dishes are definitely tasty enough. Having frequented many (perhaps a hundred or more) Vietnamese restaurants since the '70s, I would say the food and prices are reasonable, but nothing outstanding. That said, they definitely have the potential to stand out...if only the service was ALSO, at minimum, reasonable. Aside from the initial politeness of our server, this was some of the worst service I've experienced anywhere. There was a low volume of customers (no more than five tables at any given time), yet, once served, the servers sat at a table chatting and watching people without attending to their needs. There were a couple instances of customers raising their hands and just-short-of flailing to get a staff member's attention. Twice, we attempted verbally to get a refill on a drink and were rather pointedly ignored. (The guy was about two feet from us, turned his back upon being spoken to, then walked away.) The server was suddenly "attentive" to customers once it was apparent they had finished their meals. He actually attempted to ignore us as he walked past; I'm guessing he just wasn't sure we were finished because I had half of my dish still in my bowl (pushed in front of me as a cue). Once we asked for the check, he was rather quick to provide such (non-itemized, only including a total) and scurried away without even asking if I might perhaps want a to-go container, forcing us to wait until we could ask for one once we regained his attention. The culinary experience is the only salvaging factor here, but you can get that elsewhere, so I'd say this place is nothing special. I'll be driving past Pho Saigon in the future. My ratings would be sorted as follows: - Menu Offerings: 4 stars - Food Quality: 3 stars (average) - Value: 3 stars for Vietnamese, but 4 compared to other cuisines (3.5/4.5 if they would actually provide you with the free refills seriously touted by the server; our total sans tip was $19.00 for two people, and one of us had a beer [$3.50]) - Parking/Accessibility: I don't rate these unless there's something horrible at a 5-star restaurant, BUT I think it's worth noting that it's in a strip mall in a safe neighborhood, so there is very easy access. - Environment: 3 stars (not a special date spot, but certainly fine: clean, attired well enough, and quiet) - Service: 1 star (zero if not for the polite greeting and seemingly kind demeanor) read more

Phee Phi Pho Phum - this was a bowl of Vietnamese Yum!! It was a cold and snowy day, the kind of day that Pho is made for. So I jumped on my trusty Yelp site to find what was close and good. I saw so many great reviews for this place that I saw no need to look further. I stopped in a little before heading in to work, the place is small and they were crowded. I ordered the rare steak Pho and asked for an egg roll to go with it. I didn't expect to get a whole plate of egg rolls, but I pho-gave them. (Hehehe. Couldn't resist.) I decided to go with a medium bowl, after seeing the size of what I thought was the large. As it turned out, this massive cauldron upon which I based my judgment was the medium, so I shudder to think what a large would look like. ( I actually made 3 meals out of this.) The soup itself was awesome! The broth was great, lean and tender steak, and fresh veggies. A critique - someone who appeared to be a manager/owner/higher-up was bringing in boxes of food and beer through the front door and through the dining room, right in the middle of their obvious lunch pop. At the recommendation of a co-worker, a few friends and I headed to Pho Saigon today and I had my first taste of wonderful, delicious pho. Not much to say but YUM! I got the rare steak and brisket - the meat was perfectly tender and all the added basil, sprouts and jalapenos gave just the right kick. This place is great. I prefer it over Pho Lee. It's bigger in size for a restaurant and the waiters are prompt and friendly. I really enjoyed their Vietnamese egg rolls, they were crisp and hot and the eggrolls were very flavorful. They are accompanied with crisp lettuce, cucumbers, cilantro, pickeled carrots, bean sprouts, and fish oil. We had pho P9 and P6 and they were the small size. The bowl was full of noodles and meat. Very plentiful. They do the vietnamese coffee with condensed milk the traditional way which is to use a filter and you wait for it to drain and then you pour it over ice. Some restaurants have started prepping the drink early and it is not as tasty that way. read more

The only experience I had with any type of Pho joint was several years ago in Broomfield somewhere. Without going into deep detail about tendon and butthole soup, let's just say I wasn't impressed and quite frankly, a little horrified. I was skeptical about ever stepping foot into another weird Pho place, but accepted a great lunch invitation earlier this spring to try Pho Saigon. Now perhaps it was partially due to the improved company I was keeping at the time, but, hello happiness! I took the advice of my friend and ordered when he normally got and was sold! Bowlful of deliciousness and crispy egg rolly things on top. I was assured I wasn't dining on any buttholes, so I happily enjoyed my lunch and from that point on, crave Pho Saigon regularly! So, thank you to my friend for helping me past my Pho block...and thank you to Pho Saigon for a great meal! UPDATE: The above-stated great lunch invitation that I accepted back in May of 2010 just turned into a marriage on 11/12/13. We marked the joyous wedding week with a visit back to the place we had our first date...Pho Saigon. The restaurant has expanded since our first date...but is still as good as ever! My wife and I have been coming to Pho Saigon ever since we first moved here. We liked it so much, that we've attended up to 3 times a week. One delectable treat is the Bun Dac Beit (B7) which is our favorite. A true Pho delight when it comes to the fish sauce and noodles with vegetables and an assortment of beef, chicken, shrimp and egg rolls. I've never had good taste in Vietnamese crusine. Great, delicious Pho dishes. I have not strayed off the menu from the Pho noddle dishes, but the food is great for a quick dining in the restaurant or to take-out for eating at home. The sizes are massive, and the prices are low which makes this a great place for reasonable priced meal. I always have leftovers when I eat here. From the rave reviews, I really thought I would love this place but there are far better Viet places to go just up the street. I'll definitely drive the extra few minutes to Pho 95 next time. My main complaint was the food. The price was comparable to other places but the taste was sub-par. The peanut sauce that was served with the spring rolls was watery and bland. The pork used in the spring rolls wasn't particularly appetizing. The taro boba beverage wasn't even blended properly. There were large chunks of ice. It was also more of slush style and not a smoothie. It needed some sort of creamy element. The combo noodle bowl was nothing to rave about either. It had two overcooked shrimp on top and the portion size was much smaller than I'm used to. The service is decent. They were around when we needed them but they weren't very friendly. The rain sure makes it perfect pho weather~ Even though the line was long, we were in and seated in about 10 minutes. One thing is that I think they don't think about the # of people in a party vs. who was there first. They were giving away big tables to individuals because they were there first, instead of seating the bigger parties. My family and I have been coming here for years! We've been here so much that the owner knows some of our order and will bring out fish sauce to us without even us having to ask! (We normally have to ask restaurants to provide a bottle of fish sauce) they know us so well (,: great customer service. THE PHO! They make the BEST pho in Aurora/Centennial area. I'm serious! I am Vietnamese and I've tried many many places around the area to find my favorite and PHO SAIGON IS MY FAVEEE! Extremely AUTHENTIC egg rolls, pho goi cuon spring rolls and more. I really wouldn't go anywhere else. The price point is average for pho around here. I moved states recently and am posting this review (finally) because I MISS this place so much. It makes me feel at home. I'm in the east coast now and there are less than 2 pho places within driving distance to me....and they will never compare to pho Saigon. I'm literally so sad that I can't go back until I visit my family....but I know when I do....it will be SO WORTH IT. This place is pretty crowded during the lunch hour and it can be intimidating because they don't really give you any directon where to sit, or how to be seated. The food is great, big steaming bowls with lots of veggies. I wouldn't recommend this food to go, however. We've been taking food home for years from Pho Saigon. What a disappointment tonight! We tried something new. I asked if the shrimp curry was spicy. He said not all. I told him I couldn't tolerate spice. He said no problem. It was so spicy, my mouth was burning after one bite. My husband who enjoys some spicy said it wasn't mild or even medium. In my opinion, it was medium- hot. I called the restaurant . Not to ask for money back but to request they always tell people that the curry is spicy. He kept saying he couldn't understand me.
