Wanted to find somewhere close to home and after reading all the awesome reviews, had to ho try the Oxtail Pho. It did not disappoint. The meat was extremely tender. This is a new pho restaurant in Manassas. This was previously Pho Time, but the owner sold it to another person. We went here one night just an hour before closing and there were still people coming in! We ordered 3 phos combination phos.(by the way they only have one size) The employees were nice, they even brought out 2 tasty sauces for us to try. One was garlic chili, not sure what the other one was but it was good! Personally I found the Pho broth a little too sweet, but some other people might appreciate that. The waiter gave us a refill of water without us asking- attentive! I know the standard price of Pho is probably 10-11 dollars for a bowl, which is the price range in Pho Saigon. But I found that Pho 24 in Centreville still sells their Pho for 8.95, a better deal that does not compromise flavor. read more

I do not say this lightly when I say this is probably some of the best pho I have ever consumed (and to put it in perspective, I've been eating pho since I could eat solid foods). My mother and I came here on a weekday, around 11:30 for lunch. We were hesitant to go so early, but we were thrilled to see they opened at 9, and there was a small crowd even for being early. Before we even ordered, iced water was brought out with lime slices right away. We both ordered iced coffees, an order of crunchy egg rolls, and both got a bowl of oxtail pho (based purely on yelp recommendations. The coffee came out almost immediately. I like my coffee strong but my mom prefers her's on the sweeter side. The owner came out after a few minutes later and asked about the coffee, he wanted to know if we wanted it sweeter or stronger. My mom said she would like it a little sweeter, right away he brought out more sweetened condensed milk. A few minutes after this, he brought an espresso cup of more coffee explaining that if we made our drinks too sweet, this would help make it perfect for our tastes. The rolls came out quickly, and we're some of the best summer rolls I've had ever. He brought out two containers of sauce, he urged us to try the lemongrass one because the oxtail goes good with it. The soup came out maybe five minutes after the rolls, seriously some of the fastest service in a pho shop ever. The lemongrass sauce was amazing, super flavorful but had some heat that stayed at the back of your throat, which made it completely tolerable. The bowl of soup itself was MASSIVE. Bigger in diameter then my hand, and I have big hands. The broth was the best part. Any pho lover knows the broth makes or breaks the dish. He explained he uses a lot of spices and boils the bones for a long time to get the flavor and no powdered soup is allowed in his store. He also brought out a sample of his chicken broth, which of course was super aromatic and just as flavorful. At the end, the owner boxed up our soup and added more broth, filling up my leftovers to the top. He also brought out to go cups for the rest of our coffee with ice. He tied up our soup containers and included some of that lemongrass soup with it. The service, the soup, and the whole experience was wonderful. I saw this pho restaurant on yelp before and what caught my attention was the reviews from various nationalities. There will be many from one culture who say the soup base is too overbearing while another culture want more star of anise and so forth. I came here with my family with 2 kids who aren't huge fans of pho. Living in south east Asia for many years I have eaten pho across the globe from Vietnam, cambodia, Saudi Arabia (odd enough) throughout Canada and the Eastern United States, I feel as though I'm some what of a pho connoisseur and I was very impressed with this place. Soup base was well balanced between ingredients without leaving your palate slippery with oil like many places I have tried. It turned my 2 kids who weren't fans to fans so without a doubt I will be coming back. Spring rolls taste like spring rolls and the garden rolls were good, however should have been sprinkled with water to get soft a bit more. However overall the service is good with an attentive staff who kept my water full. Anyone who has been to pho 75 or other straight cash places knows that keeping water full is hard. read more

I went to Pho Saigon for lunch and it was so good. I had the Pork and with rice vermicelli which was great. The summer rolls were delicious as well. The place wasn't too small and not too big but the service was excellent. I wanted to try the oxtail but will go another time and try it. The place is very clean and the menu was very clear to read. I went with a person who is a regular and I see why she is one. The quality of the pork was amazing. Very affordable and won't break your wallet for authentic food. I had to try this place based on the reviews. Verdict: Probably the best pho in NoVA at this moment. I had the oxtail pho, and the deboned meat (there is no bone in the bowl, which is a shame as the entire point of having oxtail is to suck on the bone) is very tender. The broth is subtle (not salty) and good. Everything was very nice. The vegetable accompaniments were very fresh and plentiful. I liked the lemongrass satay sauce they provided on the side, gives a very different taste than the Sriracha. A definite keeper. read more

Pho is not usually what i think of when it is 85 plus degrees outside, usually because i sweat profusely with anything over 80. However, i can't pass on oxtail pho. The broth had very good flavor and they did not skimp on the meat. I tried my wife's pho tai and that was very good as well. Service was excellent and the spees of the pho coming out would give pho 75 a run for their money. If this weren't so far away from Annandale, i would definitely be a regular. read more
