The restaurant itself is lovely! Nicely decorated and large windows. Clean as well :) Tried the boba from there and it was one of the less good bubble teas I've had. It tasted synthetic and watered down. I haven't tried the food so I can't say anything about it (although the place seems popular!). Another time we stopped by curious to see if there was anything we wanted to order. We walked in and the staff told us to sit at a table from across the restaurant. We politely walked up to them and asked if we could have a look at the menu because we were unsure if we wanted to dine in. We didn't feel very welcome (we weren't really greeted and no smiles were shared). The menu options didn't appeal to us that day so we ended up leaving. Clean and welcoming. The service was prompt and friendly. Overall good food. Spring rolls were a bit over-fried, resulting in a slightly burnt taste. Pho was delicious and very generous portion. Surprisingly, there are two Pho places in such short distance from each other on the outskirts of Kitchener. There is Pho Dau Bo - the chain with the laughing cow, and then there is Sunrise. Sunrise is a departure from the norm. Gone are the ubiquitous utensils and sauce holders that are so familiar with Vietnamese restaurants. Gone are the numerous travel brochure shots of South-East Asia. This brightly lit and modern place is clean and spacious - which is a great welcome to some of the dungeons out there. I ordered my usual rare beef and flank pho. I also tried their egg roll - as I usually do for comparison. The Pho was tasty and the broth flavour was not as deep or complex as, lets say Little Saigon - my go to place, but more than acceptable. The noodles were cook to my liking - anything south of over bloated and can't stay on the chopstick because it breaks is OK. There was a generous amount of meats and noodle. The egg roll was not all that great. Tasteless and not crispy. Should probably try another appetizer than this one. Between the Laughing Cow and the Sunrise, I would choose the Sunrise. This would be my go to Pho if I was passing through the area and had to go-Pho-something! :D A 3.5 Star experience. Cheers! read more

It's been awhile since we have ate here. Nothing has changed either! The place is spotless when you walk in. If a restaurant takes the time to present themselves in a clean way, you know the food is going to be good. As soon as we sat down they brought out complimentary tea. Nice touch even thou it was 37 degrees out with the humidity.. lol I ordered the Pho with rare beef, trip and tendons, it comes out piping hot! A separate plate of fresh basil, bean sprouts and limes. Great presentation and everything was soo fresh! Spring rolls came out second and were and hot, and crispy. The filling was full of meat and had great flavour. After we were don't the waitress packed up the left over soup for us to take home! Definitely will be coming back! Just won't wait over a year to do it!! read more

Love the pho here, it's always so consistent with the flavours. The desserts are also really good, good balance of ice to ingredients.

This restaurant opened up a few months ago and I finally had the chance to try it out today! As with newer pho restaurants, the interior decorating is simplistic but classy. It is also found in a good location that allows plenty of light to shine through the window, which I really like. Seeing that it was a Viet-Thai restaurant, I didn't have much of an expectation since my personal experiences with them were not so good. Opening up the menu, I saw Viet translations for each menu item which meant that this will be legit Viet food! I ordered the chicken and spring vermicelli (bun ga nuong va cha gio). It is a good portion size with appropriate amounts of vermicelli, vegetables and meat. The flavour and texture of the chicken was fantastic. Basically as good as my mom makes it. The spring roll was made a little differently than I am used to--there was a fair bit of carrot in it which made it sweet. I wasn't used to it, so I can't say whether it was good or bad. The fish sauce mixture it came with was lacking in flavour, perhaps if more fish sauce was added into it it would have been better. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my lunch. Finally have time to write a review after my wonderful trip back from Canada. This place is awesome and coming from and growing up in Orange County and being Vietnamese myself I have had my fair share of Vietnamese food and the food here is just delicious, unique, and so many options! So after a long day of shopping and going around so convenient to have this restaurant in the plaza so we didn't have to go far to eat. It was my 5th day in Canada and I was tired of Fries and. Burgers I wanted some good wholesome food. I Was so excited when I saw the menu so many options and so many foods that reminded me of home I was in love! It is so unique here because I have never seen a Vietnamese Thai restaurant and a Vietnamese restaurant that sold Banh hoi platters (Vietnamese rice vermicelli woven platters) I thought it was so unique and cool and wished that Orange County restaurants had those dishes as well. Anyways I went with a large party that day and they accommodated to us so well making sure we had water, drinks, condiments, napkins and anything we asked for. I do have many pictures of food being the foodie I am I wanted to take photos of everyone else dishes to show you guys but for me I got to try the pho and it was so flavorful and rich and pho is all about the flavor for me. I have had my fair share of bowls of pho this one was so perfect and made my stomach warm and happy on the cloudy day and I was a little by sick so getting to have hot delicious soup made my day and the day before I had tried pho at another restaurant (Pho Dau Bo) in Mississauga,Canada but it was just not as good as Pho Sunrise. Their flavors are just so on point at Pho Sunrise ! Definitely recommend this place the restaurant is also so nice, new, modern, and clean; feels fresh and welcoming to eat here and the staff is excellent so nice accommodating and go above and beyond to make sure you are happy and I am one happy customer I wish I could eat here more often but I'm in Orange County who knows one day maybe they will open a location in California! read more

Delicious shrimp rolls. Pho medium by name, large by portion. Red thai curry says mild, but if u white, not mild.

Get yourself the extra large pho and share for two. Broth is just perfect, great service, and the shrimp rolls are great as well.

I tried the pho and bun bo hue (based on such great reviews). They both were Ok. I feel flavour in Pho Dau bo is better. Not sure if i liked the service either. I might try this place again. read more

We popped in for lunch the other day and were pleasantly surprised how good it was. They poured tea upon our arrival and chopsticks were at the table (my husband had to ask for a fork). We shared a mango salad and pho and there was lots and it was really good. read more

We tried this new Pho spot out today after Church. Restaurant was modern and very clean. Aroma of spice and fresh broth was heavy in the air when we walked in. Appetizers were shared and very tasty (spring rolls and cheese dumplings)I had the rare beef rice noodle soup. Everything was delicious, fresh and flavourful. Price was excellent as well! Bought 3 party trays and have been here many times. Never had a bad experience till I dealt with the owner. When picking up the food, and going out the door, the plastic disposable lid from the party aluminum tray flew off by the wind while opening the door. The owner witnessed this, and I asked him if I could get another lid and he smiled and said no. The people in front of me ordering food were even shocked in disbelief. I know times are tough, but are you kidding me? It's a disposable tray cover. I didn't care so much for the lid as I did for how rude he came off. read more

The food and service is amazing! The restaurant is clean and comfortable. We were warmly greeted and had a very attentive server. There were two people in our party and we ordered three dishes, one to share. The gentleman who delivered our food did not take out order but instinctively knew which dish we were sharing and brought extra bowls and serving utensils. Authentic Vietnamese food. They also do party trays which is so convenient. Unlike other Asian restaurants they actually greet you and have great customer service. The food is the best Vietnamese food you can get in the region. They serve some authentic Vietnamese dishes you can't get anywhere else around here. They're famous for their broken rice dishes! Worse vietnamese ever. Very bland, no taste, dry noodles. Fresh rolls had noodles and carrots, no basil or fresh herbs. Went home hungry. Left the food there it was so uninspiring! read more
