Came on a rainy, Seattle Sunday...looking for some warm noodle soup to soothe...Pho Tai definitely did that, and for a very reasonable price. Came by myself after a decent walk from my daughter's apartment, so was really looking forward to the late lunch. It was still pretty crowded inside...once I was noticed, was asked by one of the staff to pick any table which I did near a window. Water was brought right away, and the menus were already on the table that I had picked. Pho Tai lists their menu on-line, so I already knew what I wanted. #28 Cha Gio ($3.75 each): Deep fried egg roll with minced pork and vegetables. It came out quickly and had been cut in half, with a typical sweet chili dipping sauce. It was very heavy and dense, and full of meat and vegetables. I wish they had given some romaine lettuce to wrap it, which some places do. But I did appreciate it comes individually (i.e. don't have to order two like most places do). #17 Pho Tai, Nam, Gan, Sach ($14.95 for a large): the named proteins here are steak, brisket, flank, tendon, and tripe. The broth was really good, slightly sweet, had a decent amount of beef flavor, but wasn't overly oily at all. It was also served at the perfect temperature: just hot enough to slightly 'cook' the thai basil and fresh bean sprouts added after it came to the table, but not so hot that it scalds if eaten too quickly. For me, tripe and tendon go really well in pho and is a must....but so are beef balls, and there was no combination that had all of those. Will definitely try that next. They open at 10:30 am, based on when they have the right amount of demand. I mention this because Pho is very much considered a breakfast food for some of us, and most of the locally owned Pho restaurants in SoCal open quite a bit earlier for breakfast. This isn't the case here, which makes sense, since in this area, the majority of restaurants are regional Chinese and authentic Indian. So glad for this Vietnamese restaurant and hoping to make at least one more visit before I go back to SoCal.

Ordered two spring rolls and a side of vegetables (which I thought would be romaine lettuce and pickled vegetables as pictured) but instead got old broccoli and moldy browned cabbage. The quality has gone downhill. It's so disappointing. I think this place also needs to be reevaluated by a health inspector. Nothing tasted fresh. The spring rolls peel was stale. Such a bummer. I used to love this place.

Been here multiple times since my first review. This is now our go-to pho spot in Bellevue. For the price, the pho is delicious. Their meats are consistently good quality, and their broth is tasty. A casual spot, service is fast, they let you choose where to sit.

Nut allergy: The spring rolls are served with a peanut dipping sauce. Pho has no issues. Plenty of seating inside. Service was incredibly fast (four bowls of pho out in less than 8 minutes). Our noodles came out slightly undercooked (clumpy) but weren't too bad after a few minutes. The broth was lightly flavored, still tasty and not too salty. A solid amount of meat in the Large bowl. The normal one seemed like plenty for most people. You can ask for onion or steamed beansprouts. Great spot for a fast lunch.

We were looking for some quick lunch with zero line. And this was it! They said to seat ourselves anywhere which we did. The menu has quite a bit of things in there. But I ordered brisket and tripe soup and teriyaki. The food came out pretty fast. But the server wasn't very attentive and we would always have to call them if we needed anything. The ambiance is casual and seems like a cafeteria/ food court. The food though was very good, and the prices are cheap. It's definitely a good place for weekday lunch.

The food is delicious, the service was okay. They ask you how many people are eating. Only brought myself today. They told me to pick a place to sit. When it came to ordering, the menu is already at the table. They serve you water first, that's great love it. They ask when your ready to order. I normally take my time to look at the menu, the menu was very good. I can see and read clearly. When it comes to ordering, the women just asked what I want to order. It felt kind of rushed haha. But it's okay. I just told the lady to give me a moment. Takes them about a minute or two to get back to you, depending how busy they are. That's a perfect amount of time for them to get a customer. I order a number 17 of the menu, it took them 2 minutes to bring me my food. When the food came it was a here you go and leave. The server is friendly yes but no smile towards the customers. A friendly environment is what makes a restaurant. Out of it all I would rate this 3/5 food was amazing! Service was ok

I love Pho, and there unfortunately aren't too many delicious places in Seattle/Eastside to fill this craving. So when I saw Pho Tai as a potential place to get this scrumptious noodle soup, I paid this restaurant a visit! I went on a Monday around dinner time (~7pm) and was promptly seated. The ambiance of the restaurant is casual with tables and booths lining the walls and middle of the restaurant. When I went, the service was very lax - seating was first come first serve, and you had the choice to pick wherever you wanted to sit. I initially wasn't sure if I was going to be served when I seated myself and was wondering if I needed to flag down a waiter to get a menu and my order in, but fortunately I didn't need to do any of that. As for paying the bill, you have to go up the register (at least for me) to do so. I got the number 17 large pho ($16) - the size was large, but I would say the actual size is something more of a medium bowl. This critique is based on other pho restaurants I've tried, and I was left wishing for a bit more in terms of size. The bowl was more like 25% meat (a couple of slices of steak/flank/brisket and a bit of tendon) and 75% noodles, which left me wanting a bit more in terms of protein. The broth had decent flavor and the warmth was much needed on the rainy day that I went. In the end, I would say that that though the flavors were decent, the price could be a bit better (maybe $2-3 cheaper per bowl), but that's just my opinion. Due to the limited options of pho on Eastside, Pho Tai would be a decent bet if you are looking to fill that pho craving for the time being.

There's good pho here, but the parking situation is horrendous as it shares the parking lot with the extremely busy Asian Family Market. Things that I noticed: clean tables, way too small napkins, nice background music, good pho broth. I got the seafood pho, which has shrimp, crab meat, squid, and scallop. I would recommend NOT getting the large since it's basically the same size as the regular but with more soup. Other than that, the pho was tasty.

Service was very much rushed, questions were repeated for a speedier response. The food came out quick but was not very hot.. the server brought out the second bowl and then placed the receipt down and lagged before leaving as if expecting payment right away. We haven't had the chance to eat, let alone add some sriracha. It felt unwelcoming especially since they did not serve the table next to us a check with their food. Who are the folks giving 5 stars on here? My husband and I have had pho from countless places in WA and other states. This is the worst pho we've ever had. Stay away if you have had decent Vietnamese food before. Also stay away if you're vegetarian. Beef Pho lacked flavor and no real pho spice smell. The noodle was too starchy like it wasn't cooked well. The vegetarian curry (which I thought was a safe order) was barely edible. I've had better microwaveable curry before. The curry came out cold with raw vegetables thrown on top. I'm talking about raw broccoli, bell peppers, and cabbage. I had to ask them to please heat up my curry. The menu said it was their best seller. Lychee bubble tea was the only thing decent.

My family and I have been coming here for years. It's our basic lunch spot and they have pho and bun vermicelli bowls. They make a good basic pho that hits the spot- I always get the vegetarian pho- and solid Vietnamese coffee. They've changed ownership and the service is a little spottier but the food is still good. It's a good spot for pho in Bellevue! read more

Relatively inexpensive and decent pho. Their noodles weren't too soft and I could actually pick them up without breaking which is hard to find in inexpensive pho restaurant. Occasionally bugs do annoy me... still one of the better pho restaurant in eastside. read more

Pretty decent pho here. When stepping into any pho place, I always look for the "smell in the air". Yup, this one scored on that one. First thing I noticed when stepping in, pho smell! I think they just need to work more on the noodle/meat balance. And maybe make the resto a bit more tidy. read more

The Panang Curry is the best! However if your a fan oh Pho and fresh spring rolls this is the place to go. Very casual little hole in the wall. Service is fast and friendly and we usually get out of there for around $23.00. Perfect place to eat after an hour of thrifting through Goodwill store next door. read more

Pho Tai is a pretty decent place for a quick meal. Really good prices for generous portions. I came here with my family for dinner. 7 of us got seated right away. All of us ordered pho in "small" size. We were all surprised how big the "small" bowls were. They definitely don't skimp out on the meat like most pho places. However, I didn't like the broth a whole lot, too much MSG for me that it tasted artificial. read more

I rarely write review, we have to travel to Seattle quite a few times every year, We are Pho fans, tried a lot of Pho restaurant around, this one used to be our favorite: decent, not fancy, high quality food. But this year, looks different. food are not so up to the standard before. Hope it stay up and still be our No.1 restaurant choice in Seattle. We would like drive 20 mins for it. read more

Pho was better than most, but the panang curry was bad. The curry was swimming in soupy flavorless sauce and the chicken was still dry. Their bubble tea was good, so might go back there for bubble tea if I'm in the area. read more

My other favorite place was closed - again - for remodeling and went here instead for lunch. Not bad at all. The Pho is pretty good, the prices are reasonable and service is decent. I do get a little nervous that the order is usually not written down, but after going here a few times, they've always gotten it right. Friends I go with usually order something other than Pho and haven't heard any complaints. read more

Eat here weekly. I always get the bun with pork (#32). Its great. Never tried the pho but people say its good. Had a guy from Saigon tell me it was his favorite in town. Can get a little dirty as they don't bus the tables soon as people leave but doesn't bother me. Service has always been really fast when I was there. The green tea bubble tea is great too. read more

Not many places on the east side hold a candle to cheap dining in Seattle, but this place is great! To be fair, I'm basing my assessment off of one dish. I can't remember the name since there isn't a readable online menu to remind me, but it was a beef pho with a dark broth. Had carrots in it, almost reminded me of a beef stew. Very rich and delicious. Quite a bit of fat on the beef, but I think that's what adds so much flavor to the broth. If I find myself on the east side during a cold, wet winter day - I'm headed here. read more

Came back here with my friends couple weeks ago. This is one of the cleanest Pho place I have experience. Soup is good, teriyaki dish is tasty, a lot of parking space and especially service is supper fast. In addition, this place has heating system. Good for group and family. read more

Evidently the waitress here does not know how to say "You're welcome" or "Thank you," even when a customer gives her a sincere "Thank you." Or pays (giving them business). Nor did the waitress feel a need to check in on her customers after they got their food, ignoring them the whole meal once food was delivered. No water refills, no check delivered to the table, no words of appreciation. I thank her when she brought me my noodle bowl, and just received a blank look back. She knew perfectly well how to say things like "Would you like your receipt?" Lack of English was not the problem. The only personality our waitress showed was when I said I wanted noodle bowl number 26 and she pointed to #28 and said "It is better, you should get this." I took her advice and it actually was quite good. But my mother ordered Tom Yum soup, and I'm pretty sure she was given a bowl of their curry. Either this or the soup was curry based, and awefully strange soup. It still tasted good, but I do not think it was soup. I think the waitress brought my mother a wrong order. Or the soup could double as curry and was not Tom Yum (spelling?) Thai soup. I left the waitress a 50 cent tip. She gave me an incredulous, miffed look. Upon getting this look, I told her my mom could have used more water when we were eating our dinner. The waitress then sprung into action, acted like she was getting us water. I told her we we done, we needed it earlier (like when she was laughing & talking with her co-worker up at the cash register, ignoring customers). read more

sheesh, i can't believe i never got around to doing a review on this joint! this is my go to pho restaurant in bellevue. broth is tasty and crazy hot. the meats are consistant, nothing fancy. rolls are fresh. it's comforting because i can depend on that consistancy. i've never had any of their rice dishes (cause i'm not abouts to order teriyaki at a pho joint) but my kid enjoys the teriyaki there. the bun (vermicelli) is ok too. i live down the street from this place and i order take out every once in a while. i know, you're prolly thinkin' take out pho is no bueno but these kids have it down. broth is packed seperately and the pho and meat are sealed (literally) in this rectangular container that perfectly holds ALL of the broth from the other container as you pour it in. PERFECT! the broth is always super hot (but that maybe because i am so close that it doesn't have a chance to cool down). they give you all the necessary condiments on the side too, including hoisin and sriracha sauces. my only gripe is they are only open til 10. they used to be open til 11. i needs my late nite pho, man! read more

By the way, my friend got their grilled pork chop rice dish, and the meat also almost completely covered his plate. Both our meats were marinated so well and held in so much flavor, and came off their bones easily. We both agreed the grilled beef short rib dish I ordered was the winner because of the bolder and more defined marinated taste of the meat. I've tried so many Vietnamese restaurants and almost exclusively get their beef short ribs rice on the first visits of them, but this is the first time I've seen meat portions this huge for a rice dish. I'm thinking of coming back here for another visit even if I have to deal with the tight parking plaza this place is close to.

Square Lotus offers an extensive choice of dishes. This visit we ordered the tropical fresh rolls and the pork on skewers, along with banh xeo The banh xeo was really nice and crispy. The only 2 drawbacks. for me was ... instead of pork belly, they use chicken, i think white meat cause the meat is very dry. The second is they don't offer a lot of fresh herbs with this dish. Just some cilantro and one small branch of Thai basil Next time i order this i will definitely ask for pork belly instead of chicken in my banh xeo. Definitely recommend you trying this restaurant. BTW, the offer an extensive amount of vegetarian dishes

The restaurant got a lot busier after we got our food - at least two or three parties who arrived (two each) had to wait between 5-10 min for a table to clear. The staff are super efficient at clearing tables so you won't need to wait long, but the downside of this place is that their popularity easily exceeds their capacity - so be patient! I don't have any notes for ambiance. Parking is available in the same plaza, but there isn't much - a lot are reserved for specific businesses between specific hours, so be careful not to park in an open business if you intend to eat here!

One thing I would note is the lack of noodles. Personally I like have noodles with my hotpot and Dolar Shop only had one type of noodle. Other than that, the Dolar Shop also had a dessert bar and appetizer bar. I enjoyed the dessert bar along with the ice cream you get at the end of your meal. Overall, I'd probably come again, but I definitely would like more noodle choices in the future.

While it was tasty, the crispiness didn't hold up so I would not recommend taking it to go/eating it at room temp. The grilled steak don probably would've been better for this purpose but I have no regrets. Service was excellent, friendly, and helpful. Looking forward to visiting again next time I'm in town.

They have evrything here that is the good news. Fro Yo, Pho, Bubble Tea, and a buncha other crap. So, the first time we went to this establishment the waitress didn't write down any of our order, she ended up forgetting a couple of things. Servers at this restaraunt give you a creepy feeling. The second time we ate here the waitress excused herself in the middle of taking our order to go run someone else's food out, as if the plates would suddenly grow phemonia during the 30 seconds she paused to grab a food order from our table. Well I eat there everyday because its so affordable and. Unfortunately I suspect they probably add msg because I asked one of the waiters who spoke very little English and said that they do add "a little bit." Coming here every time I come home for break has definitely been a tradition. Pho here is exceptionally tasty and at a totally affordable price. I come with my sisters and we usually always order an appetizer, large pho, and a rice plate, and it comes out to $45 including tip everytime. That's about $15 per person. read more

One of the better pho places around. Eastside, Seattle, all of them. Great broth, have teriyaki and some other Thai dishes on the menu as well, and flavored smoothies and teas. More choices over most other Pho places. Staff is friendly and helpful too. read more
