When I think of Redmond I do not think of Vietnamese cuisine so I was surprised to come up with this location thru Yelp when trying to find food around the Seattle Eastside. This was on a Friday at 6pm and we came to a very empty parking lot until you try parking closer to the many businesses located along the Bella Bottega Shopping Center where this gem is located. Inside is very casual with a ton of tables that can seat various group sizes, and my friend and I got a seat closest to the register. Menu has typical items for a Vietnamese restaurant like pho, banh mi sandwiches, bun, rice dishes and vegetarian options. There was actually a lot of stuff so I was slightly overwhelmed. I got their large phở tái bò viên, which is pho with medium rare beef and meatballs. Note that there is only a $1 difference before tax between the medium- and large-size pho, and I saw the medium bowls being much smaller than the large one I got, so it's worth getting the larger one! Broth is warm, aromatic and comforting with the right amount of everything, and the meats inside gave it more depth. The noodles kept together easily in my bowl and did not break apart easily when picking them up with my chopsticks. I also asked for extra beef, which is $4 more; this was put inside my pho instead of being served raw on a separate plate like i've seen in other Vietnamese restaurants. My friend got their Yummy Noodles house special bun with chicken, and he loved it a lot! It was served in the same bowl size as the large pho I got, hence he couldn't finish what was in front of him entirely. Great vegetarian pho! We appreciated that they had a veggie broth option and our small came with plenty of fried tofu and toppings. The broth was very flavorful and a little chili sauce makes it even better. We took ours to go, but there's lots of seating inside. Service was quick, only about a 15 min wait at lunch time. This is one of my very few favorite pho spots in the Seattle area! Service is fast and easy. The inside is always clean. And the food is ALWAYS amazing! The broth is always well seasoned and flavorful, the limes are never dry, the vegetables they provide are fresh, and the meat is good quality! They refilled our waters like hydration ninjas and kept everything running smoothly while my family debated what to order (which, let's be honest, can take a while when it's your daughter's Sweet Sixteen Pho Party). I had to bring my glass up to the counter for more water while paying. A small dac biet pho was $22 plus after a 15% tip. Heavily loaded with tripe and tendon in huge pieces. The pho is covenient enough for a craving; broth is (one of the most) pungent with the aromatics that I've had, but at the same time wasn't as heavily, deeply flavorful as I prefer. Found my new favorite pho spot! The broth has a more rich flavor than other restaurants and the noodles also are really good. The small is a good portion if you have an average appetite. The banh mi with grilled pork and the spring rolls with shrimp were also delicious. The restaurant is bright and spacious with lots of seating inside. TL;DR: overpriced when you consider the ingredients used. Flavor is all there but ingredient quality is lacking. Parking: ample parking in a large shared lot. Atmosphere: cafeteria-like feel with echoey surroundings. Kid Friendly: high chair, disposable cup with straw, plastic soup spoon, no plastic bowls--ceramic so be careful of bowl tossers. Menu: no photos and minimal descriptions. The title of the dish tells you what you are ordering but doesn't get into specifics. For example, "vegetable pho" doesn't indicate what veggies you will be getting. Service: wait to be seated, order at the table, you will be watered, go up to pay at the counter you've finished dining, take our boxes available upon request at the counter. Grilled Pork and Egg Roll Vermicelli: the pork had a nice flavor and the amount of basil was generous. The only thing I wish they had was romaine lettuce instead of shredded ice berg lettuce. The bowl itself was on the higher price end compared to other places and I think that the quality of ingredients should be reflected in that price. $18.00 could have gotten me a better bowl elsewhere. Veggie Fried Rice: the menu does not give you a description. When I ordered this dish, I was expecting more than just tofu, frozen peas and squared carrots.
