The place is cute and tiny, you can eat inside but it's pretty small. They have a ton of interesting flavors, from sweet to savory. My family ordered about 6 different flavors. The one that I like the most was the pork cutlets, even if it was cold it was good. The savory options were not too sweet which I liked. Not a huge fan on the salmon tho. The only issue I had was definitely the portion, it was small. It seems big in the photo and display but the one you get it small. Was looking for a place to grab lunch to go and saw this place. Didn't realize that they closed at 2 pm. I walked in and it looked like they basically sell out by the end of closing time. Also their sweet sandwiches are great and well filled. - bread is freshly baked, incredibly soft and fluffy. Bread sold separately. The bread reminds me of actual Japanese bread eaten in Tokyo - Friendly and polite staff. Everyone always smiles CONS - savory sandwiches are overpriced for the value. I paid $6.80 before tax for 2 shrimp cutlet sandwiches. Picture shows that only 1/3 of the sandwich is filled. This is consistent across majority of their savory sandwiches where I pay these prices for eating plain bread. If I'm paying such prices for a tiny sandwich I expect a good balance. - The ratio of stuffing to bread is bad. 2/3 of every sandwich lacks any stuffing especially the edges which are always empty. There's not even butter! Skimping on stuffing is one of the cardinal sins in my books. - Never ever have I received, ordered or even seen all the varieties they claim to sell online in person. Yesterday at 11am on a Saturday, when I asked about the loco moco I was told they "were sold out." How can you sell out of a popular sandwich at 11am in the middle of your work day? What are you doing in the kitchen for the next 3 hours? Are you serious? My assumption is that they don't and will never have all the varieties available that they claim to sell. This is a serious offense to my tummy. Produce evidence of said sandwich or remove promises from your site. - limited hours and timing. They've never expanded, don't allow same day orders online and continue to "sell out" like it's a good thing. Well it's not. If you're constantly out of sandwiches you are not successfully forecasting how much to produce. - tipping culture is out of control. You're running a takeout window! Expecting tips when I'm going out of my way to drive, spend time and money to arrive at a small shop where they don't even offer seating, is asinine. Pay your workers living wages and stop shoving off your responsibility to consumers who don't even get the joy of eating a complete balanced sandwich. I have issues with how this business operates and I hope they improve. In the meantime, go check out their sandwiches and make up your own mind. I got the strawberry and pork cutlet sandwiches, totaling close to $14, enough for a meal on the slightly lighter side. Fresh sandwiches everyday here. It's been a long time since they opened and the quality has not changed which is always a good sign. So many restaurants and stores have gone downhill and this shop is not one of them. So many visits at this store, I have never been disappointed with the quality of their sandwiches. I tend to choose tres special which is made of three different ingredients so I can enjoy different flavors in one meal. My family likes tonkatsu, pork cutlets, really filling sandwich with think Katsu. Unique ones like burdock sandwich and meat sauce hamburger are also really good. I think the savory sandwiches here are 3.5 stars, but the dessert sandwiches are 4.5 :). I came around noon on a weekday, and they were almost sold out of all of their sandwiches. I really wanted to try the black sesame, but didnt get the chance to. I tried the miso katsu, pork katsu, fried cod, and creamy crab. I also tried the strawberry sandwich as a dessert one. The miso katsu was by far the best, but I think the coldness of all of them threw me off a little. It worked the best for the cod one as it had tartar sauce. The regular katsu was a little dry, and the crab was way too soft and mayo-ey.
