    S3. Bo Ne Nha Trang

It's a quaint lil cafe. Parking can difficult as it's a small lot. Staff was friendly and quick. We enjoyed the shrimp spring roll and the Bo Ne Nha Trang.

Phenomenal service! It's hard to find good service nowadays and this place exceeds expectations. The staff are super friendly, welcoming, and very attentive. They will refill your water without asking. They answer any questions kindly. Service is also very quick and efficient as this team works hard and works well together! Cafe 79 Vietnamese Kitchen is tucked away near the thirsty hop and a nail salon. Plenty of easy free parking in the small lot. The restaurant is small but inviting with a bright interior. I look forward to trying more of the menu like the appetizers and banh mi sandwiches but for my first visit I decided to give the Beef Pho a try. I ordered a large beef pho which was super delicious with a flavorful broth, perfect noodles, and plenty of beef. Definitely some great pho! I will definitely return and would recommend :)

Cafe 79 is our favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the East Seattle area. There are a few parking spaces in front of and around the area but they can be crowded usually. There is also an outdoor shopping mall with a large parking lot across the street so you can also park there if a short walk is acceptable. The restaurant is small and cozy with a few small tables. I think most of the servers are Vietnamese and they are all friendly and happy to explain the menu if you are not familiar with Vietnamese food. They have a variety of options ranging from the classic Pho, vermicelli to sandwiches. Our favorites are the Nha Trang roll for appetizers, Bun Bo Hue, and Bo Ne. The Nha Trang roll is delicious with a mixed of different flavors. It also pairs well with the peanut sauce. I recommend adding a bit of chili paste to the sauce if you like it a but spicy. Their Bun Bo Hue is cooked in a unique way from Da Nang, a city in Vietnam, that I cannot find it anywhere else in Seattle yet. And Bo Ne is one of the signature dishes in Vietnam that is a variant of beef steaks. Cafe 79 is a decent restaurant that I highly recommend it if you live on the Eastside and want to try Vietnamese food differently and don't want to drive very far north or south.

Small beef pho, Banh Mi Pork, Rice with pork chop

There's not many Vietnamese restaurants on the east side, so this was a nice discovery! The cafe is pretty small, but full customers ( which is a great sign). My parents and I waited around 15 minutes, and were notified once a table was ready. We ordered three dishes, which were all tasty and filling. I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful the pork was in the banh mi- it was a little sweeter than I'd like, but delicious nonetheless. I didn't feel like I was eating too much bread or meat, so the bread/filling ratio felt perfect. I also tried some of the pho broth and pork chop, and I found the pork chop to be a little tough, but flavorful. Overall, it was a great meal with excellent service, and I'm pretty satisfied with the experience.

Great, awesome food and a nice, steady stream of people coming in throughout our visit to boot! This place was one on my bestie's sis's to-try list so I decided to take us there on a Friday evening around 5:30pm. I would try to come early here or after 8pm because parking is ridiculously hard to find around the times before; nearly all spots we saw were reserved for specific businesses around the plaza where this restaurant is located. We got lucky and snagged one of two observable spots in front of the place. Speaking of, you're looking at a very modern, brightly lit and casual interior with an ample number of tables to sit in though there aren't many to begin with. The kitchen is up at the front counter, and restrooms are located around a hallway to the left of the kitchen itself. We got seated to a nearly empty restaurant that quickly but nearly became a full house after spending around 50 minutes inside. Service throughout was top notch, with our servers making sure our food was all right, and answering my friend's questions regarding extra add-ons for their rice dishes. For this visit I got their bo ne nha trang, the quintessential Vietnamese brunch dish as advertised on their menu. Veggies and the really warm baguette both came first on their own plates, and the meats - NY steak and meatball - and fried egg came on a skillet about 10 minutes after. Steak came sizzling hot on the pan and was medium-rare inside the moment I started cutting into it. Both meats are tender enough to chew along with the very crispy baguette, and you can add in chili sauce as that's provided on the table along with hoisin sauce for pho. Meat flavoring was ever-so-slightly lacking but it was great putting everything together and even using some of that same flavoring on the pan for the last of my bread as a dipping sauce. This place does it different in that the veggies aren't on the sizzling pan unlike several other places I've had bo ne at. My friend got their pan fried pork chop on fried rice. He enjoyed the pork chops though I didn't get a taste of them. Fried rice is standard but not overly salty which makes it a passable palette cleanser. Drive is far from where I'm at and I'm not sure how there's so many people coming in here to eat despite seeing two parking spots reserved for this place right in front of the entrance. I'd still come back again just to have their food, though! And it's great that I have another location to recommend for bo ne.

    Beef Stew/ Bo kho

Had some lunch delivered the Beef Strew (Bo Kho) and the N.1 Pork (vermicelli salad aka bun). The beef stew reminded me of Little Saigon in Chinatown minus the daikon, Good Beef with carrots, flavorful broth tastes like star anise, lemongrass, garlic and a touch of fish sauce. It's so delicious and a great lunch. Had the salad for dinner. Good pork and tasty sauce over crispy lettuce and vermicelli noodles. Hints of cilantro, pickled carrots, peanut, fish sauce, and some tasty cucumber and green onion. It was also very good! I also appreciate the chopsticks and spoon. Well done!

So glad to found a good Vietnamese restaurant in Kirkland as most of good places are in Seattle! This gem is tucked away in a small shopping plaza with parking. The service was quick and it was clean inside. I tried their Pho Special which is a marinated beef brisket, slow cooked. The brisket was super tender and a slightly sweeter broth than traditional pho. Would definitely eat this again when I crave pho with a little twist.

I was randomly in the area and found this Vietnamese place with solid ratings. I needed to try this place out and I needed to find more Vietnamese options closer to the Redmond/Sammamish area. And I needed something to take back to my in-laws' place. We had just OD'ed on beef the night before and we needed a break from the leftovers. The chicken and pork bánh mì's were solid. The bread was first rate and the pickled vegetables were both flavorful and full of texture (aka full of crunch). My wife, her father, and I preferred the pork over the chicken. I will eventually want to try the pho.

I ordered a small beef pho and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The food came out fast and tasted solid. The coffee had more ice than I expected but it was still good. Quick, reliable spot.

Parking is meh but my gosh, we finally found a goooood pho spot in the east side. They have a smaller menu and it's digital through a QR code. Service is good too! Been here twice already and will be returning many more times.

Amazing food, friendly service, and great, fair price! I loved the Bahm Mi sandwich and beef vermicelli rolls. The grilled meat vermicelli bowl was not bad either. I love that the seasoning is not overwhelming and the whole meal is balanced Would definitely keep going back!

Cafe 79 is legit! I definitely feel like it's hard to find delicious, authentic, and reasonably priced Vietnamese food outside of Seattle proper, but here, you will find all three. Service on a Friday evening was prompt despite all the takeout orders they seemed to have. Portions are generous and flavorful. Parking can be challenging because the lot is small and shared with multiple other businesses.

Located on the ground floor of an apartment building, parking can be challenging unless you find a spot on the street or don't mind walking from a public lot. Inside, seating is pretty plentiful with some tables in the center, along the windows, and in a more secluded section behind the coffee counter. Two of us came in to grab some pastries and coffee around 11:00A. We loaded up our tray and headed to the counter where we also requested a slice of the tiramisu from their refrigerated case, and ordered our coffees. + CHOCOLATE SUPREME CROISSANT ($6.59) - This round croissant was filled with chocolate custard cream, partially dipped in chocolate and topped with crisp chocolate pearls. The croissant was light but had no problem holding up to the rich custard which reminded me of a chocolate pudding. I really enjoyed this one! + COFFEE CROISSANT DONUT ($5.99) - When I picked this up, I noticed it had some weight! The cronut was filled generously with coffee custard which was smooth and not too sweet. All the sweetness really came from sugary coffee icing on top. Even though the coffee flavor wasn't very bold and tasted more like instant coffee to me, I'd still recommend. The pastry was flaky and had light layers too. + TIRAMISU CAKE SLICE ($9.25) - Eh, it was just okay. The cake itself didn't have a robust coffee flavor and the layer of mascarpone was way sweeter than anticipated, closer to a cream cheese frosting. To me, this isn't reminiscent of a tiramisu and for the price, I would have expected a larger slice. Others in my family ate the remaining pastries that we purchased (we didn't share, haha), so here are their quick thoughts: + RASPBERRY ALMOND CROISSANT ($6.39) - Advertised as filled with both almond cream and raspberry preserves, but the almond cream was extremely subtle, so raspberry was the dominant flavor. + ALMOND PASTRY ($4.99) - The pastry could have used more almond filling, and it should be spread out more out towards the edges. It had a delightful almond flavor though. + CHOUX CREAM BREAD ($3.79) - This was as expected, a simple soft bread filled with custard cream. + CROISSANT DONUT ($5.99) - A cronut filled with custard cream and topped with lemon icing. It had good flavor! + SWEET RICE DONUT ($3.79) - A chewy rice donut rolled in sugar and filled with red bean. Eat it the same day, while the dough is still soft. The filling did not have the sweetness that you'd expect with a red bean paste... it tasted like just mashed red beans and was pretty plain. We wouldn't select it again. For my coffee, I kept things simple with a decaf ICED VANILLA LATTE ($5.42, 16 oz.). They serve the Lavazza brand, so I had a feeling it would be good. The coffee was very smooth, had a good balance of vanilla flavor and they accommodated my request for light ice well. They have a rewards program (1 point per $1), although points do expire after 180 days. The pricing of the pastries is on par with what I expected, but the cost of cake slices is steep at almost $10 each, so it's a better value just to order a full cake. I'm sure I'll be back again to try more of their pastries... perhaps a savory one next time!
