The restaurant is small but comfortable and serves mainly pho but three other speciality entrees (banh mang vit, banh canh, + bun rieu cua). Our table of five ordered pho and banh mang vit aka "duck vermicelli with cabbage salad" along with ca phe sua da. The Vietnamese coffee didn't come to the table with the metal drip filter as it was already in a styrofoam cup, but taste nonetheless the standard. The pho dac biet was a nice combo of beef and the broth was tasty. We also enjoyed the duck although the description is a little confusing for those who have never had banh mang vit before. The chilled and chopped duck tops a large bowl of cabbage salad and the sweet and tangy dressing is appetizing. The vermicelli was delicate and bamboo shoots were plentiful in the well seasoned broth. I didn't mind the duck being very chopped and there were tons of bones because they gave a pretty good amount. I think I can even order the smaller bowl next time and be full for hours. All in all, a very laid back casual noodle soup spot that is inexpensive and filling. The restaurant is a small mom n pops shop that serves warm, heartfelt homestyle pho that brings back memories. The food always comes out fairly quick, the cleanliness and friendliness of all the staffs that work here are also a 10/10. I wouldn't say this place is my all time favorite that sells pho, but it definitely comes close to my 2nd favorite. I always start off with taste the broth first before adding anything, such as lime, hoisin sauce, hot sauce. What I did like is their large Vietnamese noodle soups contains more food than a large in Boston metro of MA. You can order the bone and they give you scissors. The meatballs were okay, and the fatty brisket was lean meat with fat pieces surrounding it. The restaurant is pretty cramp and people share the middle tables. This didn't bother me but it may bother some. There are plenty of pho places around town, and some are stand out, others are just ok. This was a new place i decided to try out because another place was too crowded and I didn't have time to wait in line. They had a very standard menu, but with a few extra dishes. I went for the standard brisket and meat balls just to be able to fairly compare it with the other pho places. The broth was pretty spicy and had a strong anise flavor, which is great if you really want strong flavors, but to me still tasted a bit out of the box. Their brisket was pretty good, but not as well seasoned as I would like it, and their meatballs tasted like the normal store bought ones. Pho is still good, but this one wasn't great. I would go again if the lines elsewhere are too long, but this wasn't memorable enough to crack my top pho recommendations. read more
