We love Pho Tre Bien... just not this location... we ordered Pho to go this evening and the gave us two plastic baggies (with the jalapeño, lime, cilantro, etc.) that the items on the inside were rotten. It resembled weeds that I had pulled from the yard and put in a plastic shopping bag and let it out in the hot sun for a couple of days. This was not the first time this has happened either. I got to the restaurant in 15 minutes and I checked in to let the server know that I'll wait at the table for my order and they said that it'll be ready soon. So then 20 minutes went by, and it still wasn't ready but I didn't sweat it because I thought they were busy (the restaurant was empty). After another 10 minutes went by two customers walked in and placed their order then sat down. Not even 15 minutes their order was ready which was great, but I still didn't get my order. I went up to the counter and I asked the server if my order was ready because by then I'd been waiting for almost an hour. She looked at me and said sorry that I'll start working on it. I didn't even say anything and I just walked out to wait in my car and eventually they brought it out. This is a cute little Vietnamese restaurant with friendly counter help. I ordered brisket Pho, which was very disappointing. The brisket was too thick and a bit tough, the broth seemed to be very light compared to other Pho restaurants. The overall taste is sub par for $15. read more

I came to this location wanting some pho for lunch. First off, I don't recommend coming here to sit down and eat. There isn't a lot of room. Plus they get slammed with orders so there are a lot of people standing around waiting on to go orders. Call ahead if your ordering from here. I ordered the chicken pho and fried egg rolls. They told me they just got some egg rolls in so that tells me not house made. When I received them (after 25 mins) they were soggy with grease and really had no flavor. The pho came out the same time and was good. Nothing to write home about though. The name is deceiving cause you think you'll get in and out quickly but that is not the case. Located in a small busy corner off the freeway; this Pho Tre Bien Express has limited parking space in a busy shopping/gas center. The location is very small and meant to be an express experience but most of the seating is always filled with customers waiting for their to go orders. The food is good when it's good but the quality is not consistent. Not the best Vietnamese food offered in El Paso. I have tried to give this place many chances especially living in the NE with limited vegan/vegetarian options but the consistency is not there to bargain with my time, appetite, and money. Please beware; I would like to note that if you are vegan/vegetarian the pho broth is meat broth. I am unsure if they have made a note of it yet with their menu but definitely is misleading with it being a vegetarian option when it is in fact not a vegetarian option with the meat broth used. read more

My grandma has gone for years for the boba. Finally got to go for food! We got the pork with rice and grilled shrimp with rice. I called in and picked up. Since it was lunch time it was a 25 minute wait but since I called in I knew how to time it. FYI they don't make your boba until you get there! They were short staffed at the front so the line moved a little slow- but again it's lunch, I expect things to be busy. This is the express location so seating is limited- most orders are pickup. I had love for the Tre Bien chain but the banh mi (sandwich) I had today was horrible. The pate tasted funky and sour like it was spoiled and i'm concerned i just got food poisoning. I had three bites and had to throw it away. The baguette was stale , the 'pickled carrot/jicama' that should be called 'corn syrup carrot/jicama' was hfcs sweet and soggy. I ordered the viet special, which is ham and headcheese. instead of headcheese, they used viet meatball, which was old and like crusted over dry. Not even using the right meat, how dumb do you think your customers are? all these corners cut suggest that this isn't a popular dish. that isn't an excuse to serve customers food that is passed expired. the $1.50 banh mi in LA is way fresher than the $6 banh mi here. the head chef really needs to get some quality control going on. I also had the brisket and rare steak pho, which was served without onion in the soup or basil on the side. the errors just rampaged. however, one good thing i'll say is that the brisket was really good, like fresh bbq brisket, not the usual boiled kind. read more

This is our first time in El Paso and first experienced with Pho Tre Bien Express. I called and ordered for spring rolls. Unfortunately, I came to the wrong location, and this my fault. So I made a new order of pork and shrimp spring rolls. I asked them if they have egg-drop-soup, and they said they do. Even when I carefully showed the chef the picture of the soup that I want. My soup is ready in 15 minutes. And I had to wait 20 more minutes to get my spring rolls. (WHY SOUP COME BEFORE APPETIZER?) I ended up receiving a salty broth with two raw eggs, noddles and vegetables were on the side (almost $9.74) The spring rolls came out with some shrimp shells left over. ($7.78) And there was no pork add-in. I wondered why this restaurant is busy... is it because there are not a lot of Vietnamese restaurants around? Dear, the owner of Pho Tre Bien, I know that you are too busy to manage four business in one time. But please make good management of your own business.
