We were in the mood for some pho. This is my second time here and the experience was better than the first. There is plenty of parking in the back and on the side of the building. We were greeted and the seated right away. We chose to sit next to the window with the view of the street. My daughter and I ordered the number 16 and my husband ordered the number 31. I typically like to have a spring roll before I have my soup. But today we decided to try the shrimp wontons instead. I regretted that choice immediately. The wontons were huge and it had the tiniest bit of shrimp in it. Not a fan. Our soups came out pretty quickly. They were Hot. They had lots of noodles and lots of protein. And they were cut the perfect size. They also have nice selection of sauces on the table. I will continue to visit Pho Viet 1. I like everything about it. Such a hidden gem! This place is fantastic, the pho is very flavorful and hit the spot. I could eat here 3 times a week. The food was delicious and the fried egg rolls were on point. I usually take my son who has special needs in with me who By the way is only 5 and because he has safe foods I need to stop by and get him nuggets and fries so he can eat as well . Well and the owner or the daughter of the owner came to me and said "just this time but you cant bring outside food in" it made me very uncomfortable and I dont think I will be visiting this place anymore. We had an okay experience at Pho Viet. There are limited options for vegetarians and what we got didn't have as much flavor as we would have liked. I think if we weren't vegetarians our score here would be higher as the meat eaters amongst really adored their food and it looked a lot more flavorful. (Specifically the Pho broth.) We started with tofu spring rolls...lettuce wrapped with a little dipping sauce...tasted fresh but not a whole lot of interesting flavor. I got the Pho Dau Hu Vegan...a hearty dish, even the smaller size, but the vegan broth really didn't bring much to the palate. I added some of the chili crunch sauce at the table to make it more interesting. My wife thought the Com Xao Chay was good...tofu sort of cooked like chicken, mixed with vegetables and a side of rice. I had a piece of the tofu and it was a little more like overcooked tofu than a chicken or faux meat texture. We were seated fairly quickly when arriving which was nice since the place was pretty busy. Service was good but not particularly fast. This was my first time visiting Pho Viet, but it definitely won't be my last! I ordered the shrimp paste and a small bowl of pho. The shrimp paste was served on top of a sugar cane. It was the perfect texture and really flavorful! The small eye round and brisket bowl was incredible! The broth was super flavorful and the meat was really tender. The service was fast. This is the only pho place me and my friend will go to, it is so delicious and consistent every time. The staff are always smiling and doing their best seeing as there are only a few of them working at a time. They have such good chili oil and pho, #17 is my personal fav. First time trying out this place, we ordered to go and the pho tai meat was severely overcooked. I was shocked because usually the meat is handed over raw. This made the pho highly unpleasant. I got 4 items and the total was $67 which is $16.75 per item, which is outrageous since one of items was spring rolls. 1. Bun Ca "Rach Gia" Style. I was actually born in rach gia. Grew up eating it at home and summer visits to vietnam so I know exactly how it should taste. I was pleasantly surprised to see this on the menu because no one ever has it! However, greatly disappointed because it was no way near Rach gia style. The broth was flavorless. They gave soooo much fish (which tasted fine.) but my biggest issue was the shrimp because it was just a basic boiled shrimp. It should have been marinated correctly. Overall, do not get this because it's so basic and bland. 0/5 2. Shrimp & pork spring rolls were good! Just on the smaller side. 4/5 3. Bun thit nuong was good and tasted how it should be. I just wish they gave more noodles. They were quite skimpy there. 4/5 4. Com tam suong ngon. Grilled pork chops basically and this was well done as well! The meat was a bit more tough than I would have liked but I appreciate getting 2 large pieces. But again, more rice please! Used to love this place..... They never answer their phones. I've been trying to order from them for months and I just go elsewhere since they never answer. The funny thing is that they will definitely get you your order through Uber eats or grub hub. However, it's nearly impossible to order for pickup without the online deliveries. I lived in Santa Clarita my own life (1994). At first I hated this place. But as I began to broaden my horizon and have authentic food, this became one of my favorite places to eat. I always order a large bowl with every noodles. Along with a spring roll. You will not great regret it. The soup is amazing. The only place that have beaten this place is PHO 87 in Chinatown. And they have been in business since 1987 (if you can not guess from 1987). Close to home with the amazing soup. You may not like the customer service (it is a family owned business with limited staff), but all great things in my opinion come from small businesses. We wanted to try something different as our appetizer but we love the Spring Roll sampler platter. So we had gotten that. To this day, I'm still trying to find the recipe of their warm orange dipping sauce. Today, it was more pink but it came out warm so I know they make this in-house! I've taken many pictures of it and have spent hours looking for the recipe online. Nothing looks like this stuff! Anyway. I'll find it one day! Because it was gloomy, I didn't have my usual Bánh Xèo! At I had number 82 - the Hù Tiêu Mý Tho. It's their delicious wonton tasting broth with your choice of noodles, in which case I chose glass noodles, shrimp, BBQ pork slices and quail eggs. It was so delicous. It really hit the spot! The Mister had number 16, Phô Dąc Biêt, the House Special Beef Noodle Soup which had their delicious pho broth with rice noodles, eye round steak, brisket, well-done flank, soft and tender tripe and beef meatballs! My partner surprised me on a surprise date to Pho Viet. We were seated down at one of the tables by the big glass frame. We took about 8 minutes to decide what we wanted as were waiting for someone to take our orders. We literally had been there for 20-30 minutes without being help while watching two women who worked there were serving people's food and taking other orders!!! I really love going there for there pho. Meats look fresh, quantity is great. I've tried there egg rolls, pretty tasty too. I usually prefer to order take out, call it in and just pick it up. Fast and easy. But when I do dine in as a regular, I already know that I need to know what I'm going to order, and I say this because as good as the food is, the service, well they don't have much help and if you don't order as soon as you get there, depending how many customers are dining in, it might just take a while to get your food. Having this pho reminded me of when I lived in San Gabriel, having extremely close to authentic food. Parking is tricky as it is wrapped around the restaurant, it is narrow and you will need to make sure you are going the right way. The restaurant is simple and not very updated. The food is delicious. The staff can get busy and a little wait in result of it. Pho is a great choice here. The broth is tasty and meat portion is fair . Bun is delicious here. I enjoy their fish sauce which is not too overpowering that in lingers even after 30 mins of your meal. The rice dishes are good, the egg rolls are yummy. Staffs are nice but since it is only three of them taking care of the whole restaurant as well as the take-outs, they can sometimes overlook the wait and slow service. I've been going to this place exclusively for pho for three years now since moving to Santa Clarita. Glassy, flavorful broth, the tendon is SO SOFT, and steak is perfectly cooked. Don't eat at the restaurant. The food is good, service sucks. We got there at 6, finally got seated at 635. Then we waited till 7 to just get water. Mean time the Uber eats guy came by and picked up food deliveries several times. He even made a joke as "you should order online I'll bring it to you faster" They charged me $1.00 for extra lemon wedges. They were dry with no juice.
