I am fairly new to eating pho and let me tell you, I loved Pho So 1. I know they have a few locations throughout the valley but this one really hit the spot. Ordered takeout and it service was good and quick. I had some modifications and they handled it with ease. The broth was super tasty. Given it was takeout they did not skimp on anything, enough meat and noodles for me. Big restaurant with plenty of people enjoying themselves inside. I definitely will come back and probably dine in this time!

Followed my nose and dragged hub and the kiddo with me! The inside is loud with the sound of happy munching, tables being cleaned, orders being taken, and a steady stream of folks coming in and out. We snagged a table right away during a weekend lunch, which was great because we were hangry af after hitting up the Northridge mall. Parking: huge free parking lot for the win. Service: quick and to the point. You seat yourself, they take your order at your table and bus your meal to you (SUPER FAST), and you can grab to go containers if you have leftovers you want to pack up. You also pay up front before you exit. No amex or discover. Food: some hits and some misses, but I think the misses were our fault - shoulda guessed this was more about the soup than other stuff by looking at neighboring tables. Shrimp pho - generous portion, delicious broth, fresh toppings. Loved it! Porridge with chicken - same as above, and got the kiddo seal of approval! Yummy Chinese donut on the side too! Spring roll w/ shrimp - the shrimp is ground and fried, and just turns into a thick, difficult to chew consistency that was not as appetizing as fresh. Would not get this version again. Tofu w/ veggies - kind of boring sauce, veggies barely hit the wok so still pretty raw. The rice is what was really sad - really off texture, maybe sat in the rice cooker too long. Leftovers are going straight to the chickens on this one. Vietnamese iced coffee - always slaps, 10/10. Price is very reasonable, all of the above for about $65 minus tip. Stuffed my face and still came home with a ton of leftovers. Really good vibes here, would definitely come back to satisfy the noodle soup cravings and get another viet coffee to go.

It may be pushing 90°F in the SFV, but that didn't stop me from checking out Pho So 1's newest Granada Hills branch. I ordered the #1 Pho, #85, and a Thai iced tea. The pho? Delicious--super flavorful on its own, no need to drown it in extra sauces or seasonings. Tummy = happy! The egg roll though... not so much. It wasn't crispy, and had a slight sour note (even before dipping into the fish sauce). Kinda made me wonder if it was from an older batch? The restaurant itself is spacious with lots of tables, located in a mall lot (plenty of parking). They accept Apple Pay, which is always a plus, and service was friendly and attentive. Overall: pho , service , egg roll . I'll be back for the soup, not the rolls.

As always, everything is very delicious and made with love. I visit this place several times a week I guess that's the best sign of a great establishment

*Delayed post from May '25 Came here for some comfort food and left very satisfied! Our party of 2 waited about 20 minutes for a table to open up around 8pm on a Sunday as it was packed, with large parties waiting both in and outside the restaurant. Our server was short with us, not very hospitable, and we had to ask for things multiple times, but the food was so good I honestly don't think the service is a deal breaker for going here. The atmosphere is very family oriented too, with long tables and large, shareable portions for everyone to get a little bit of everything. We ordered the Cha Gio (Fried Egg Rolls), which came out burning hot and were crispy, well stuffed, and had a fantastic savory flavor. Wrap the lettuce and vegetables around a roll and dip it in the fish sauce for a great combination of flavors, textures, and temperatures. We also ordered the Pho with Beef Flank and Brisket. The broth was full of umami flavor and the beef was tender, falling apart as we scooped it up into a second bowl for sharing. I suggest ordering additional vegetables on the side to load up on the fresh ingredients for a balanced bite.

The inside is actually pretty big, the food wasn't too bad, the pho came out with a big portion. Was not a fan of the spring rolls, tasted a bit dry. The Broth on the pho is lighter than most broths I've had at other places. Service was very fast pace, food came out in a timely manner. Their boba drinks tasted pretty decent. Good place if you're looking for something quick. Our server was attentive so that was good. Plenty of parking in the plaza.

Love this place! They are so quick to take your order. Food always comes out quick! I always get pho and portions are huge! Flavor is always on point. I love the broth!! Prices are good for what you get! The place is clean, tables are always stocked with ingredients.

Was in the area searching for places to eat. This had great reviews so we decided to come here! So glad we did! We were welcomed to sit anywhere we'd like. Lots of seating and it was pretty clean. Food came out pretty quick considering they had a few big tables to serve aswell. I'd definitely come back here when I'm in the area again. Food was flavorful, hot, and hit the spot! Only complaint was my soda chanh was missing sugar.

    Egg rolls, crispy and delicious!

I love this location! From the minute you walk in, you're greeted and if a table is ready, seated right away. The server hands you menus and takes your drink order. When the server comes back with your drinks, you'll be asked if you're ready to place your order. The food cones out within minutes! The broth is just the right temperature and tasty, as always! It's a great place to share a meal and have a conversation. It's not too loud but does tend to get pretty busy. This does not affect the great customer service that's provided here. Stop by if you're near and craving a great bowl of pho.

6/16/2025: Another fantastic dinner tonight with a party of 6 and I totally forgot to take pics! We enjoyed 3 orders of Cha Gio egg rolls with rice papers and the water dipping tray on the side for extra rolling goodness. We had com dishes, bun thit nuong, pork chop platters.. everything was so delicious! Dan and Sidney took excellent care of us.. they were so attentive, friendly and welcoming! The staff at this location are all fantastic! Since I failed to take pics of the food on our table, I'll share a peek at my leftover Bun Thit Nuong that I enjoyed for lunch the next day. I'm ready to go back already!

Beef with egg rolls and vermicelli! This was so good I ate everything in the bowl!

Pho So 1 is definitely one of my favorite go-to spots in the Valley whenever I'm craving something comforting and satisfying. On this visit, I ordered one of their rice plates along with fresh rolls, and both were served hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The portions are generous and the quality is consistently good, which keeps me coming back. Service is quick and efficient, the space is casual and welcoming, and the price point for what you get is always worth it. A solid, reliable choice in the Valley for Vietnamese comfort food.

What the staff does instead of taking care of their guests!!!
    Cheven L.

Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by serious lapses in food handling and professionalism. Not once--but twice--there was dirty lettuce on the egg roll plate. When I respectfully brought this to the attention of the employee, the response was dismissive: a shoulder shrug, followed by walking away. Moments later, the same employee was standing in clear view in the back, laughing with another staff member instead of addressing the issue. While I can appreciate a flavorful broth and moments of good execution, standards matter--especially behind the scenes. There is always a backstory to restaurants and kitchens, and this was mine. What happens out of sight of customers is just as important as what arrives at the table. Cleanliness, accountability, and respect should never be optional.

Unfortunately, almost nothing hit the mark! The pork chop was completely dry! My son took one bit and wouldn't touch it again, and my mother had to force herself to eat half hers. Even the pickled radish, my daughter's favorite, and carrots were off! They were watery with zero vinegar flavor. My daughter spit them out! Every single bowl of broth tasted sour and awful. The noodles also tasted old and stale. The only salvageable part was the meat, so we just ate the protein because we were starving. Though, the meat was flavorful, the texture was tough and a little chewy. When my mom paid for the check, my husband politely mentioned to our server that the broth tasted sour, just as a heads up in case other customers complained. The server spoke with the kitchen and kindly refunded a portion of the phos back to my mom's cc, which was appreciated. If you looked at our table when we left, it looked as though we barely touched our meal. In our haste, we should have just returned the porkchop, too. After posting about our disappointment on IG, four other people chimed in agreeing that it was the worst pho they've had, too (all four are Asian decent, two being Viet themselves). We definitely won't be back.

Coming from a family who LITERALLY…read moreOWNS pho restaurants, I sympathize with the plight of an operation built on family recipes and hard work. And yet, the only way I can explain our experience today is that of a biblical level injustice. It was as if Judas himself returned to this mortal coil just to stab my friend and I in the eye and leave with our wallets. So here's the story: My vegetarian friend ordered A NUMBER 31: PHO CHAY. Now for those of you unseasoned pho aficionados (unlike me), that's means a vegetarian pho with VEGETARIAN broth. Additionally, the Pho Chay is marked as vegetarian in the menu. 5 minutes later, the waiter places a bowl of hot soup in front of him. Utterly ravenous from a previous night of lecherous debauchery, he eagerly digs in. As soon as he tastes the broth, however, a dismayed look flashes across his face. His supposedly quaint vegan broth had obviously been tainted by the soul of quivering chicken. Upon complaining that our PHO CHAY with vegetarian broth had actually come with CHICKEN BROTH, we proceeded to be the victim of such egregious levels of gaslighting that it can only be compared to that of medical gaslighting experienced by a middle aged women undergoing perimenopause. However, the server eventually gives in to his mistake. He offers a correction. But before he could abscond with the bowl, I asked him if he was planning to throw the meal away. He confirmed that indeed it would be tossed, so I asked if we could keep the original soup as I didn't want to waste food, and I personally have no qualms about eating meat. The server agrees and my friend receives his new bowl free of chicken cruelty. Now you may think, all is well! Cest La Vie right? Not so fast. Injustice imminent: As we went to pay the bill, we were promptly informed that in addition to screwing up our order, WE HAD TO PAY FOR THE BOWL OF UNWANTED CHICKEN PHO. Oh but wait! To add insult to injury, they told us it was 50% off. I was utterly flabbergasted. The 50% off gesture was so criminal it felt as if they had just taken a knife and STABBED US 46 TIMES, and felt kind enough to leave a wet napkin so we could wipe ourselves off. NEVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN. Oh and side note, the food was terrible.

She's been coming here since before they upgraded the space, and from what I understand it's run by brothers. The family is really nice, and it definitely has that local neighborhood spot feel. The main reason she brought me was for their **bún riêu**, but I have to be honest -- it didn't really taste like bún riêu to me. It was still good, but the broth had more of a tomato-y, clearer base and felt like its own soup rather than a true bún riêu. I was also surprised they didn't have **shrimp paste** available for it, which felt kind of odd. They do have **bánh bèo** and some other Vietnamese dishes, which I thought was cool, and overall everything we tried was okay. I've had a different soup from here before, and I've also gotten it delivered, and I'd say the experience is pretty much the same across the board -- decent, solid, nothing bad, but nothing that really stands out for me either. That said, I'd still come back because my girlfriend enjoys it, the family is sweet, and there aren't a ton of Vietnamese spots I've tried out in the Valley yet. It's one of those neighborhood places that's nice to have around, even if it's not something I'd personally go out of my way for.
