The pho is just as delicious as at their other locations, with huge portions that are definitely worth the price. The pork was really good and flavorful, and the food came out pretty quickly. However, there were a few issues. It took a while for someone to take our order, as the staff seemed to be talking and laughing behind the register. The rice also tasted stale, and the knife given to me still had food residue on it. The broth in both the pho and the bún bò Huế tasted... off, and the noodles were soft, soggy, and overdone. The bún bò Huế in particular was disappointing, with more bone than actual meat. To their credit, it was a busy night (surprisingly it was still not too noisy) but there was still plenty of seating, and my party of three was seated quickly. Service, however, was inconsistent. There seemed to be too many wait staff, as our table was approached 3-4 times within the first few minutes to see if we were ready to order. After that, it was the complete opposite--it became difficult to get refills or even flag someone down for the check. We eventually got tired of waiting and I had to go up to the cashier just to pay. Today was our first time dining at Pho So 1 in Chatsworth. It is located in a shopping center and their entrance is on the street side. Upon walking in, we were greeted with friendly faces We were quickly seated, and had our order taken. We both placed an order for a number 18 which is chicken and chicken broth. My partner ordered rare steak which is no16 but when the soup got in the table it no15 with tripe here they only have one size huge bowl but it's not hot enough. I ordered the charbroiled beef & egg roll with rice & pickled veggies. The beef is on the dry side while the egg roll is so crunchy and dry not the usual texture. Been to Pho So 1 plenty of times before finally sitting down to write a real review. I've tried both the pho and the Bún bò Huế here, plus their egg rolls. The egg rolls are next level--super crispy, not greasy, and perfect for wrapping with the herbs and lettuce. I've had egg rolls from other Pho So 1 locations, but the ones at this spot actually felt lighter and less oily, which I loved. The pho has been consistently aromatic and comforting on the days I visited. The Bún bò Huế, though, wasn't as flavorful as I'm used to, and the noodles were cut surprisingly short, which made them hard to pick up. The pork leg/shank was also on the tougher side. I'm used to getting a different veggie plate with BBH, so having to use the standard pho herbs was a bit disappointing. The interior is modern with tons of big TVs--great if you want to catch a game while you eat. Service is quick for the most part, but I'd skip the bánh mì. Mine took over 30 minutes to come out (even after checking in at the 15-minute mark). It wasn't anything special flavor-wise, and they forgot the mayo, so it was pretty dry. We ended up at the Chatsworth location which is quite large inside, with a waiting area, lots of tables and an about 8-10 counter seats. It went pretty fast, once we put our name down. I ordered the Pho with rare steak, brisket and well done flank. Hubby got the beef stew Pho and my son got the vegetarian Pho. All of our orders were quickly served, large portions, perfect temp and really delicious. This is the 3rd Pho So 1 I've been to and the new location in Granada Hills is the same as all the others in the best way possible. Service is fast, the food is fresh, and you leave here with your belly full while somehow feeling refreshed. I came to have pho with my sister family tonight since we were in the area and wanted to try this new location. I was just at their other location last Friday where I found out they had their grand opening the same day. We found parking alright when we came near the entrance but this restaurant is in a big plaza so there more than enough spots. The restaurant is smaller here compared to the one on Balboa. I got the #1 bowl which is the combination pho, my sister got the #10 pho and my nephew got the shrimp pho. I notice that this location is slower in terms of getting your food because I would get the #1 pho quick at the other location even when they are really busy. My sister pho took awhile to come out for some reason. My #1 pho was also missing the tendons, like there was none in the pho. Excited about this brand new Pho So 1 location right near Chatsworth and Zelzah in Granada Hills! I decided to stop in to grab some lunch to go, and service was friendly and efficient! I ordered two Pork Bahn Mi, shrimp spring rolls, and a Vietnamese Iced Coffee. They brought out the iced super quickly so I got to enjoy that while I waited for the food. The iced coffee was delicious and authentically made with condensed milk rather than half-n-half! The sandwiches, and the shrimp rolls were also delicious - I think next time I may ask for extra pate though for the Bahn Mi sandwich. Absolutely delicious food here, I always tend to get the pho and my daughter goes for the banh mi or the pork vermicelli. Never had any issues with the food, it's always consistent. Inside was bright and they have large windows all over and it was clean inside. Parking was not an issue as they were inside a large shopping center. This place was not for me. I've ordered take out here many times since their grand opening. I've dined in twice and there's also something that goes wrong. There are servers there who don't know how to take orders / understand our orders. Once server gave us the wrong price for a side! When we were about to pay, we saw the price was not what the server said, and the lady at the counter said, "he doesn't know, he's new". The second instance was for an order of brisket pho - I asked for EGG noodles and the lady thought I said EXTRA noodles so I got a bowl of pho and another bowl of Vermicelli noodles and still got charged for the egg noodles after I had it corrected. Prefer these tables to be all private but it is what it is. Brought my son and was forced to share a table with two Armo young women (I'm Armo too, what an embarrassment.) who were very loud and vulgar and complete attention whores. Though they were at the other end of the table the tone of voice really disrupted our meal. (C- for layout) Place is very clean and they clean tables extremely fast; food is also served at lightning speed. We got our food less than 4 minutes after it was ordered. (A for speed and cleanliness) Service: Efficient but could use some cheer and a nice welcome not even a thank you for our patronage. Also did not appreciate that they don't accept the Discover card. As a business owner I would never limit my customers choice of payment just because I'm charged one extra percent more than a Visa or MasterCard. At least they don't add any bullshit credit card charges here. I am a long time fan of their Van Nuys location but wanted to stop in and try their newest branch. I can honestly say, this branch is my new favorite. We got the pho, bbq pork rice plate, and egg rolls. The broth is rich and the meats were tender and well cooked. The rice was perfectly cooked and the meat was flavorful but on the saltier side. The egg cake was on the dry side but the flavor was good. The egg rolls were hot and fresh, and the fish sauce was balanced and delicious. I enjoyed everything here. But this was extremely terrible service. 4 girls servers just talking and laughing on their phones amongst themselves not checking up on their customers or even doing anything. last Friday I came for the first time and had a whole different experience, and brought my friends yesterday (Monday) and had a terrible experience!!! the girl server last Friday was cheerful, fast, and accommodating. she made me think this was an actual family feel vibe with how she interacted with other customers. So it made me want to come back and bring my friends. she said everyone at work here are all trained like this, and I come in and it was a completely different vibe - super unwelcoming/not very inviting. felt like we shouldn't be there cause we were interrupting their conversation instead. i guess some girls are cat-y but man... no wonder this place will soon drop to 3 stars or less. My food was cold too. Maybe forgotten from their chitchat will only be coming Friday where the team is better. Think she said her name was Trail?
