This has been my go to pho spot for a while now. It's one of my favorite places to eat at when it's a little rainy/cozy out. We always get the prix-fixe for two. The egg rolls, pho beef combo, and chicken fried rice is our favorite combo. Their dumplings are also very good. This is usually enough for two to eat plus some leftovers. The staff is a little less attentive when they get a little bit on the busier side, but always very friendly. The parking lot is pretty small, but we've never had an issue finding parking. read more

Restaurant seemed fairly clean and the area had plenty of parking in the back. The pho itself was too salty vs. better pho places, and the menu was too catered to people who rarely eat pho. They pushed a lot of other things on their menu since the pho itself isn't amazing. The noodles were on the firm side which is a plus. The meat itself was average. Service was nearly nonexistent (not rude but didn't offer refills or say thank you to any of the other customers I saw coming in/leaving). The best thing there was the ice water in metal cups. The place is nice and management has young and stylish people working there too, and when I could get their attention they did alright. When I could being key. ... Good Pho You: Another word play on Pho like Phobulous, Photastic, etc. The word 'pho' is believed to originate from the French word "feu", meaning fire, which is related to the French dish pot-au-feu, a beef stew, since the French colonized Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos for about 100 years. Pho is pronounced closer to (fuh). Good Pho You in a typical stripmall is strictly a down home dive in an unlikely part of the San Fernando Valley. However, Good Pho You was unexpectedly OK. Some of the flavours and preparations in the Bun Tom Thit Nuong rang close to what you would expect in Little Saigon, Orange County. 1) Cha Gio: Bite sized fried thin, crispy rice paper surrounding shrimp. crab, mung beans, jicama, mushroom, taro on a lettuce leaf. House sauce seems to be soy sauce with a touch of Nuoc Cham which is Vietnamese fish sauce mellowed with sugar, vinegar, lime juice, water. Unfortunately, the Cha Gio was fried under high heat for too long to the point the inside ingredients were a dark, hard, dry mass so it was hard to determine the ingredients listed above. I wish the owner would taste the Cha Gio at Golden Deli in San Gabriel to experience exemplary Cha Gio. 2) Bun Tom Thit Nuong/Vermicelli with Pork & Shrimp: Bun refers to the thin, soft, rice based vermicelli pasta. Vermicelli meaning little worms in Italian. Nuong refers to grilling. Tom is shrimp. Thit means meat but often is pork. Shreds of green leaf lettuce, bean sprouts, julienned cucumber & carrots. Well done slices of pork. Four shrimp on a stick also grilled well done which hardened and dried out the shrimp. Still, it retained a sweet meatiness. Nuoc Cham sauce had a good Umami and provided the major flavour back up to all the other components. Add Sriracha garlic chile and/or the plainer chile purée to add piquant, earthy gastrique. This dish could be in the running in Little Saigon. Vietnamese Ice Tea was more astringent & tannic with toasty floral notes than standard American flavourless orange pekoe tea. It was a good palate cleanser between bites. It's tough to find good Vietnamese in the SFV. The big exception being Valley Sandwiches which has broad competency beyond Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches, but the big drawback is that it's take out only. So Good Pho You by default gets a 4- stars. Still a decent 3 stars if compared to Little Saigon, Orange County. read more

Good Pho You has completely ruined all other pho for me -- in the best way possible. The broth is unreal -- rich, deeply flavorful, and clearly simmered with care. Every spoonful feels comforting and balanced, not too salty, not too oily -- just perfect. The noodles are always fresh, and the meat is tender and melts in your mouth. You can tell they put love into every bowl. It's that kind of spot where you can taste the authenticity and passion behind the food. This will always be on my favorite pho spots in the valley! The service is great and always quick and the staff is friendly. There's never really a long wait for a party of two, usually getting seated right away. The #2 and #3 are our go to's. We also love their eggs rolls, they're crunchy and filled with flavor. I wasn't a fan of Pho until I tried this spot. I get their custom pho and add steak and brisket to it. I've never gone in person and have always ordered off of Postmates. The food always arrives warm and perfect temp for eating as if it was just served from the kitchen. Their shrimp wraps in rice paper are great for appetizers if you're in the mood. I haven't been here in years, was craving some pho late at night and this was the spot that was open. I ordered the little tai or Thai which was there pho with thin slices of steak. It was actually pretty good, I wouldn't say it's the best one in the valley but it definitely satisfied my late night cravings for pho. The pho spot down the street was unfortunately closed so i decided to give this place another shot, huge mistake. I ordered takeout and came back home to find that the bag of bean sprouts basil jalapeños and lime they usually give you on the side only had one jalapeño, 3 wilting basil leaves and probably a little under a handful of bean sprouts. Additionally the broth looked and tasted like it had been watered down or something, i was so disappointed i actually called back to see if i could get a refund and instead of being apologetic the staff had no remorse and instead responded with attitude and told me "they haven't received any complaints". not to mention the fact that the owner is always sitting in the corner on his phone blasting videos and coughing which completely ruins the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant itself if you choose to dine in, all in all not a pleasant experience whatsoever. i'm not sure if they even check their yelp reviews but judging from the decline in service and quality of food i would assume they don't. read more

I was really hoping to like Good Pho You based on the name and some of the photos I'd seen online, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing enough that I won't be returning. I ordered the beef pho, expecting the rich, aromatic broth that makes pho so comforting and satisfying. What I got instead was a bland, almost watery broth with a strange aftertaste that didn't sit well with me--literally. Not only was it lacking in flavor, but it also left me feeling a bit sick afterward, which has never happened to me with pho before. The meat was just okay, and the noodles were slightly overcooked. The usual plate of fresh herbs and garnishes was also underwhelming--just a few tired-looking leaves of basil and not much else. Service was fine--nothing memorable, but not rude--but it couldn't make up for the quality of the food. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I also rely on them when choosing where to eat, so I felt it was important to share my experience. This is a nice neighborhood spot. It's open late which is rare for the area. Happy to have found it after a long day. Love this place, been going here since I was a Jit and now im grown and it's the best pho I've ever had in the states. Ive tried the chicken, beef, house, seafood heaven, and shrimp, and all of them are straight gas. They also have a ton of boba options which is really good. Ive only tried a few appetizers because the pho comes out pretty quickly but the dumplings are pretty good. Very homey and comforting. Good service and everyone is really nice. I don't understand why this place is rated for 3.5 stars because they are attentive, nice and the food is fantastic. Tried the meatball and tofu pho - they bring out a plate for you and have a variety of options if you're not sure what to get. My pho was hot (as it should be) and they gave me a healthy amount of tofu. The meatballs are are delicious and recommend if you're not sure what kind to get - the meatball one would be your choice. I visited in a Friday evening so parking was extremely hard to find and this place was crowded! After a while it does clear out - this feels very family oriented and kind. A MUST STOP! read more
