I love this place! All their food is great, especially their pho soup. I am from California , so when moving to Jacksonville, I was really missing all the Vietnamese food. When I found out about this place, I was really happy! The ambience is nice and relaxing. The guitar music playing in the background, while the smell of pho lingers throughout the whole restaurant. The servers are really nice and helpful. I usually get pho, vermicelli with chicken, or chicken with rice. Their Vietnamese coffee is really good as well. My wife and I were driving through Mayport and we stumbled upon this little place. Not very much to look at on the outside, and once you go inside, you find a quaint little restaurant. Family run, they are very efficient in getting your order and handling the numerous takeout orders they received on walk in and phone orders while we were there. We ordered a bowl of Pho, some Stir Fry and Boba Tea. The Pho was very good, as well as they Stir Fry and you can tell they are very flavorful with the different ingredients and spices. The Boba Tea was also very good, I had a coconut and my wife had taro. Obviously the coconut Boba was good, the taro was good as well, but tough to describe in taste. Wow! I need to reiterate WOWWW!!! I don't know where to start the food was great it was very fresh I wouldn't be surprised if they grow their own herbs in house. The service was good and very fast. You might drive rIght on by Pho Viiet and not take notice. Don't be fooled by its unassuming frontage and location. Pho Viet is a gem! If I don't have a meal from heree at least once a week, my world seems incomplete. I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the menu-- the pho is consistently amoNg my top picks. Cute, hole in the wall Pho stop. Everything is cheap and delicious. We got shrimp fresh rolls, fried shrimp, lemongrass tofu vermicelli, small plain noodle soup and a tofu bahn mi. Although the shrimp fresh rolls weren't the best I've ever had, they're only $4 so good enough. I loved my vermicelli bowl, the fried tofu was so crispy and everything tasted so fresh. I went here today for BBQ pork and spring roll vermicelli. It was $9.95. Easy to find, plenty of free parking. The place seem to be clean but it wasn't busy when i stepped in around late afternoon 5pm. Water is served in a plastic tall cup with straw. The foods tasted alright, nothing spectacular but it is a straight forward dish. I will come back to try the Pho. Couple negative things, you don't wait until i already finished eating to come ask me if everything is alright when the bowl is almost empty. I would have say anything otherwise. One napkin, no extra garnish. The dish has no peanut in it for a cool bowl of vermicelli. The pickled veggies are not crysp as I would have wanted which tell me it may not be hand made and come in a jar or it has been sitting out too long. Also, i can tell that this place is skimping on budget because they don't use disposable chopstick, which i preferred and what worse is that they are plastic so it makes it harder to use and I'm a vietnamese. Food did arrived rather quick. When i paid, i paid cash and the cashier gave me a bad nickel, from what i can tell these are kids of the owners or what not serving. I did not use the bathroom but it wasn't obvious enough for me to see it. Menu was okay and so was price but it would be difficult if you don't know Vietnamese, or better anyway to select. I didn't tip. Final verdict: Cleanliness: 3 Good Foods: 2 Ok Service: 2 Ok Presentation: 2 Ok Overall: 2. Exactly what Yelp categorize it, a 2 stars for "Meh, i been to better place." It is close to base and i station at Mayport, so it might be a potential quick bite, but not my regular go to. I will come back to try the Pho. read more

Visit 1) not too bad, decent pho and service Visit 2) tried to get some pho again and they were OUT OF PHO ON A FRIDAY, LIKE HOW TF DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN?! Visit 3) Went to go there today on lunch only to find out they are closed today(it's Wednesday, tf are you closed on a, Wednesday for?), apparently. I don't know who's running this crap but they need to get it together, I might actually change my review if the next time i go up there they are open and actually serving pho! Been to Jacksonville twice in 3 weeks and been to Pho Viet 5 times. This small and cozy mom/pop enterprise has won my heart since the first visit December 23, 2021. Now I'm back in town and just had my 5th pleasant dining experience here. If you love seafood there are many options (mine was the Seafood with crispy fried noodle) : the squid was unusually tender and delicious. The Banh Mi Bo Kho was terrific served with bread (I had an extra bread with mine). I have experienced 4 different servers---all very polite and eager to please. I had Bun Bo Hue tonight with Cha Gio---the Viet Namese fried egg rolls were tasty and of good portioning and I ordered another set after my meal and that hand squeezed Limeade really hit the spot afterwards. This place is highly recommended by this former restaurateur (my restaurant was Viet Namese btw). I do not partake of alcohol but they do serve a variety of beer and wines. Again: small and cozy with 5 booths seating four, two tables seating 4, and three table seating two. On this Friday night it appeared to have a 10-15 minute waiting time between 6-8pm with immediate seating afterwards. Closed Sundays with 11am to 8:45pm operating hours. I'll be back! read more

So we walked in and the lady just stared at us until I said table for 2. Then we waited till the table got cleaned out. I grabbed my own menu and sat down. After about 8 minutes she asked us what we want to drink. And we asked her if we have lunch special and she just walked away. So we thought she was going to get us the lunch special menu but no. Delious! This place is wonderful, fell in love at first bite. Located off of Mayport road in a small semi rundown strip mall, this place doesn't look like much from the outside. But the food is fabulous. So definitely give it a try. It's run by a friendly Vietnamese family, overall good service. Chicken and pork with rice noodles are great, along with the rare steak and brisket Pho and spring rolls and dumplings. Those are usually my girlfriend and my go to when ordering from there and the serving size is definitely more than enough. If you are out at the beach and looking for great Pho, then make this your choice. Not the best location but hands down better than the other option of Bowl of Pho about a mile away. read more

Feeling very under the weather one night recently, I thought pho would be the perfect meal. I had heard great things about pho viet and considering it is right near my house I decided to try it. Boy, am I glad I did! I chose p19, the well done flank steak and rare flank steak pho along with the pork bahn mi. Both were excellent. The pho broth had great flavor and the bahn mi was tasty. My fiance had the combo fried rice and very much enjoyed his dinner as well. And the price was unmatchable! We will definitely be back. read more

Awesome service and really quick too, especially if you don't have much time for lunch. I'm picky about pho broth and their broth is delicious. As the pho restaurants become more ubiquitous in Jax it's always hard to determine which ones to try. What makes Pho Viet stand on its own is its unique twist to traditional Vietnamese cuisine. Maybe it's a reflection to the owner's background being from central Vietnam. The ancient royal dynasty was in this region within the city of Hue. It played a huge role as a facilitator of avant-garde dishes which influenced the region's foods and made the area unique relative to other regions' cooking within the country. Thankfully those dishes withstood the test of time. With that said, I was excited to try their beef grilled spring rolls. It was filled with the usual fare of fresh veggies; bean sprouts, vermicelli noodles (thin round kind), red leaf lettuce, & beef. However, what truly made this appetizer more unique was the small very thin egg roll encased within the rice wrap. I was just salivating at the thought of the two contradicting ingredients. I bit through the entire roll, bursting forth the fresh crisp veggies and the tender marinated grilled beef. The soft, crisp, tender contents accompanied by the fried crunchy asian chive egg roll lathered my palate in a kaleidoscope of textures and flavors. It was food porn at it's finest. I also decided to give their Hue spicy beef noodle dish (bun bo hue) another try. It was an improvement compared to the last. The broth was bland on its own but the kick of the fresh chili oil paste with shrimp paste that coupled the meal helped supplement what was lacking. I also added a little fish sauce, which definitely helped. Unfortunately their wasn't the usual pork trotter or black pudding. This was understandable considering not many people are aware of this dish and novices that do try it would be hesitant to eat it, if they came across these two particular ingredients. Maybe only a true foodie would be able to try this dish at it's most authentic state. As I've stated before this dish is really good but it's not for the faint at heart. Maybe if more people are open to this dish then they'll provide this dish in it's natural habitat ;P. My better half had the rice vermicelli noodles with egg rolls & grilled beef. It was plentiful & flavorful. The egg rolls are just how our moms made them. The dish was accompanied with loads of fresh red leaf lettuce, bean sprouts, basil, and cilantro which helped offset the fried egg rolls, making it a lot lighter on the stomach. Overall, the restaurant always seems to surprise me with their special take on traditional appetizers. Their flavorful dry or soup based rice vermicelli noodle dish are the reason why we still drive 20 mins. just to eat here. read more

I love this restaurant. My husband and I live in Atlantic Beach and eat here about once a week. The pho is delicious, but we try not to get complacent and order the same thing - the variety of the menu is worth sampling. (Pains me to see people come in and order fried egg rolls and fried rice as their meal when there are so many more fresh, delightful flavors to be had.) Owned and operated by a sweet Vietnamese family who always make us feel special when we dine there. And they've recently renovated the restaurant with new paintings and lighting that offers a softer atmosphere.
