My visit today was as a first time visitor placing a to-go order. I also came with a coworker, so a couple of things were order. That included chicken pho and beef style fry with added jumbo shrimp. The food tasted great! Very fresh and flavorful. There's no debate there. There were a couple of hiccups however....when the beef stir fry came out, there was no beef only shrimp. The shrimp were large and it looked appetizing, but it wasn't the correct order. They took the food back to correct it. The meal returned with beef and 4 small shrimp. I paid an additional charge for the JUMBO shrimp. The change in size was noticeable. Unfortunately we'd waited for quite some time and had to leave, so it wasn't addressed. As far as a dine-in experience, the space is decently sized with pretty decor. All of the staff I encounter were very kind and I appreciated that. I think I have eaten here about two dozen times and it has been wonderful each and every time. Their Pho is very good. It has a good amount of flavor and there are many options for toppings. It also travels well and stays warm for quite a while. Their summer rolls are very good. Always fresh and the rice paper is never dried out. The egg rolls are always piping hot and flavorful. I love their vermicelli bowls with the bbq pork, the beef, shrimp or egg rolls. I switch it up depending on what protein I am in the mood for. I also like their Bahn Mi's very much. The bread is always nice and crusty and the vegetables are crisp and super fresh. My review is for my recent Togo order. I usually order an avocado smoothie with boba pearls, grilled beef banh mi, and fresh spring rolls. I've been inside the actual restaurant before and the service has always been good! The restaurant is pretty clean too. Avocado smoothie with boba pearls: 6/10 - I like it but I've had better ones. It's pretty sweet and you taste more sugar than the avocado itself. The condensed milk is pretty forward in terms of taste. Overall, good but not great. Grilled beef banh mi (sandwich): 7.5/10 - their banh mis are pretty good and always filled with toppings (cilantro, pickled carrots and daikon, cucumber). Beef has a wonderful flavor and is tender. The bread they use is a traditional baguette and tastes pretty fresh. I just wish the size of the banh mi was a little bigger for the price. Fresh clear spring rolls with veggies, shrimp and pork: 8/10 - one of my favorite appetizers from here! The veggies (usually greens and cucumber) are always bright and fresh, shrimp and pork cooked perfectly, and the rolls are a nice size! The spring rolls are also stuffed with vermicelli noodles and have an al dente texture. The star is the peanut dipping sauce! I could drink this sauce! It's nutty with the peanut butter and crushed nuts, robust, and has a hint of sweetness from the hoisin sauce! I like adding some Sriracha sauce to the dipping sauce because I like a little spice! Overall, if you're craving some cozy, Vietnamese food, definitely give this place a try! The food is pretty good and fresh. Depending on the food item, it might be pricey for the portion sizes. Stopped in tonight for dinner with my wife at this sit down restaurant attached to the Orange Park Mall. The interior consists of dark wood booths and tables with a counter for take out service. The bathrooms are in the back and the men's room door does not have a lock and there were no paper towels. Upon arrival, we were advised to seat ourselves at any open table and chose a booth near the back of the restaurant. Our server handed us our menus which are expansive and contain many Vietnamese dishes like pho and other noodle soups, banh mi and platters. Our server was a little curt with us but I think it was more of language barrier issue than rudeness. We opted for shrimp springs rolls with peanut sauce and a vermicelli ride noodle bowl that came with chopped raw veggies, grilled pork, shrimp, sugar cane shrimp and fried roll. The bowl also came with fish sauce and peanut sauce. Everything was well prepared and very tasty. The shrimp spring rolls were bigger than what you will get at most other places. The only downside was the service was slow to non-existent at times. Drinks ran dry and it took a long time for food to come out. Also, we had several different servers. Great place for Vietnamese but I would recommend take out. They even have a convenient kiosk so you can pay without anyone else helping you. read more

OK, I literally just moved here and needed some comfort food ASAP. They were running a special on DoorDash so I grabbed them and I am not disappointed one bit. I got the vegetarian PHO and it literally is one of the best ones I have tried. The taste are not overwhelming and it has this warmth to it that really makes it feel homemade. Consistently tasty Vietnamese (obviously) food - in nice sized portions. I'm not a big eater, but I usually take part of "normal" sized bowls of Pho home. I particularly like the grilled pork spring rolls. It's part of the Orange Park mall, but once inside you wouldn't know you're in a mall setting - dark woods, and the booths are comfy enough, with a big screen tv behind the bar showing beautiful images of Vietnam. I wouldn't necessarily go here if I were in a hurry, and the staff are friendly but seem a bit overworked sometimes. All told, definitely recommended. read more

At one point this was a pretty solid option for Viet cuisine and surprisingly so being located in a mall. However, alas, things appear to have taken a turn for the worse. Eating here today I had a grilled pork and egg roll bun (noodle dish) and the noodles were pasty, the pork gristly, though the egg rolls were actually pretty good. Yet good egg rolls alone cannot salvage the rest of the dish. The waiter was nice but the music horrible--think the type of adult contemporary songs you'd hear in a Kohl's--and I mentioned that. The waiter kindly did switch the music to some Viet-pop but it's like, why have the worst of bland American pop playing in the first place? Also, the booths are badly worn with the upholstery peeling and cracking. I have to wonder if they simply are not getting the amount of business to really run a top-notch operation. read more

This place used to be good. The eggrolls are some of my favorite Vietnamese egg rolls in the area. Pho is usually good. We had a horrible experience with service this last time around. Our first server was ok but it took over 40 minutes for our pho to come out and then our order was incorrect. Only two bowls out of 5 came out. There was no veggies in one of our large pho orders. We talked to the lady to let her know and she was really rude and just brought us a small bowl of cilantro . Also our pho was not hot which we didn't fuss about. About 10 min later, 2 more bowls came out, and then a few min after that, the last bowl. We finally got our check and put our card in to pay. Our total was about $85. We asked if they did a military discount. They said yes and then brought us back a check that was $100+ after they already charged the card. I'm appalled and at that point was already irritated and wanted to leave. It just wasn't a great experience and it sucks cause I chose this place and my family left very unhappy. read more

If Doordash had a hot list for my house, Viet Nam Palace may top it. We've been ordering from here probably once a week for the past couple months. It's been on point every single time, and the prices are great. The banh mi is excellent and an absolute steal for the price. The beef pho with rare steak, the pork chop rice or noodle dishes -- also excellent. For appetizers, the summer roll and rice flour pancake (which is similar to a scallion pancake) appetizers are the best. Apps are the only place where we've had a couple duds, the wings aren't the best (small and not crispy as advertised) and the calamari is hit or miss. Ive been going here for years and it makes me sad to say that the food quality has dropped and the costumer service is now horrible. Bad communication between the waiters though we made it clear to them and they seemly understood, however they didnt. Forgetting 3 items we requested. It took 30 minutes to give us our drinks and 45 minutes to revive our food. The thing is, everyone around us were getting served, even people who came in 20 minutes after us!! We didn't order a lot either.. and there was a random flake in one of our drinks? They still have decent pho and good drinks but the service is just rough. They also gave us the wrong to go order on top of missing sides and drinks AND the lady was rude. She also burped on us. I don't often go out of my way to eat at mall places but I stopped in one day just to get an iced coffee and couldn't help but notice the clientele was largely of Asian heritage. I took it to mean the food was authentic so then I had to try it! When we visited, there weren't a lot of people there and were sat right away. I had the Pho and my partner had fried rice. Both were phenomenal! I really really enjoy a pho loaded with veggies and the server was nice and brought me extra to go in mine. The broth was so rich with flavor I could have drank it with a straw! Even my plain Jane hubby remarked on how good the pho was and he goes out of his way to avoid new foods! Of course I had more coffee. I chose to come here because the usual place I would go, which is for today on southside is quite a ways away from me here in Orange Park and I wanted Pho so bad but didn't want to drive. I was sadly disappointed and will continue to make the drive to southside. I ordered a Large create your own Pho with rare steak with extra noodles, there was a significant language barrier between me and the waitress which was not an issue. However, she did not take down any of the things asked which caused my meal to be unsatisfying the steak and the was extremely fatty so fatty that I was unable to enjoy it and ended up picking most of it out. The rice noodles were very very chewy. I did not get my extra noodles and I ordered a sprite but was served water instead. For the price you would think the serving size would be bigger but it is not. I am sad I wasted my time and money. I will never go anywhere other than "Pho Today" again. read more

We used to come here a lot before the change to Vietnam Palace. It was our go to place for pho, noodle dishes, and the occasional rice dishes. Our first visit to it being Vietnam Palace was NOT the greatest experience. I ordered the House Pho and my wife ordered her usual Roast Duck Soup. Both did not meet our expectations. The House Pho was lacking in flavor and the roasted duck was over cooked. From then on we were no longer loyal customers. One raining day we decided to give them another chance because maybe the new owners were still adjusting and polishing the menu. This experience was a COMPLETE turnaround! I order the pork chop rice dish and the wife got her go-to Roast Duck Soup. It was PHENOMENAL! The pork was so flavorful and with a side of broth was so amazing. My wife's roast duck was juicy and the broth was even better than before! Bravo!! Sad to say another downfall. We came back to get our pho fix and it was HORRIBLE! It seemed as the pho was depressed as well as the vegetables were old. We do not recommend coming here. read more
