Fried shrimp, sweet potato, and tater sauce.

This location is a small place with maybe about 10 to 12 tables. It is kind of rustic. The service is good. We came in late - they close at 10pm. We ordered fried shrimp, fried fish, loaded baked potatoes, hushpuppies, and coleslaw. There are other choices like oysters, clams, French fries, sweet potatoes and salad. All dishes come with tartar or cocktail sauce, crackers, and the slaw is in little containers on the table in a basket. Food is cooked to order and served hot. Nice portions. I had about 16 shrimp. Too many to eat at one time. I would return when in town. Good food, quick service.

A local staple with fresh seafood. I haven't been here in a long while and then my coworker asked to go. We had the grouper bites To Go. And I've been back several times since! Food is fresh, fast, and filling! The decor is not super fancy, but it is hometown cozy. Everyone is friendly. Today, I went with my Mom and Auntie for brunch. We started with fried mushrooms (Be careful, they're hot! Cut them open first to let the heat out. Haha - don't learn the hard way, like me. Hehe) We tried the trigger fish (catch of the day), the snapper fingers, and the grouper bites. Comparing the fish, they were all delicious. Also had the special (Wed) of $9 oysters dozen. SO fresh! And a bowl of clam chowder. If you've never been, stop on in. All these "regular locals" can't be wrong.

    Fabulous greens.

Great meal as 90% of the time. Oysters for hubby and New England clam chowder for me/ yummy! Hub got stuffed grouper. I got shrimp and trigger fish and it was great!! Great greens and sweet potato and the service is always good! It's truly legend in Jax!! Love SK and it's very consistent!!

Ambience was very cute, we went after the beach so it was a great vibe. Very packed but to be expected. Service was really good especially because it was so packed. Now the food was amazing, I don't have seafood much so arguably one of the best seafood I have ever had

Everything on the menu is delicious, the staff is wonderful, and they stand up to bigotry in their own backyard. You can't get much better than that. The only drawback (if you can even consider it one) is just figuring out a good time to arrive to avoid a line. Regardless, even if there is one, the staff moves through it quickly and efficiently. As Sub Cultured is a walk-up window, there's some outside tables to sit, as well as the option of sitting in your car for that car-hop action. Otherwise, you're so close to the beach and parks that taking your sandwiches for a picnic isn't a bad idea either. If you can't find parking immediately at Sub Cultured, there's a little shopping center just next door since there doesn't seem to be much for street parking outside of their handful of spots. All of that said, I'm a transplant to Jacksonville via the Navy since 2004. One of the biggest cravings that I have from back home is a real authentic sausage, pepper, and onion grinder. I can't even begin to describe to y'all how great Sub Cultured's is with that spicy Italian sausage and perfectly cooked peppers and onions. Add a little spicy brown mustard and you're all set.

Went here for lunch, requested to-go, ordered The Godfather with salt + pepper added, was ready in 10 min. You ever take a bite of food, take a deep inhale and just say "oh my god" to yourself? Yeah, so that happened. The creamy house made Italian sauce had me hooked and the balance of flavors + textures brought it home. Great food, great music, great service, oh and did I mention great food? Will be back very soon

I was a little incredulous that a former Sailor could run an Asian restaurant with such awesome ramen! Well, now I believe everything I heard. As a former sailor, upon entry I immediately fell in love with the Navy decor, pictures, and even the tables in the dining area had the seals of ships and other commands past and present on the table top art that gave a tremendous nostalgic feel to an old sea warrior like me! OK, I was a Chaps - I gave spiritual support to those warriors. Nevertheless, the ramen bowls here are a work of artistic beauty! I felt like I needed to stare at my meal for an hour before daring to touch it! On this day, we had the Bayou Ramen and the Traditional Ramen. The Bayou Ramen has a real Cajun spicing to it - unmistakable in every way. It has some heat to it, but not heavy - I'd say it was just about right for my taste. The shrimp and sausage in it were perfectly prepped - I could have taken some home but didn't - just couldn't stop eating this! It also included carrots, corn, a seasoned egg, scallions, ramen noodles in chicken bayou broth. If you like ramen of a Cajun variety, you'll love this! The traditional ramen bowl was pretty basic. You could have a choice of broth, but the basic version has little to no heat factor. It comes with roast pork, bok choy, carrots, corn, seasoned eggs, scallions, ramen noodles. I had the leftovers of this ramen bowl the next day and it was outstanding too! In addition, when you come here, you MUST get the fried chicken! It's among the best I've ever tasted. It's definitely bested KFC in my book! Anyone who wants to try a solid ramen restaurant which classic offerings and some creative versions of ramen, must visit Hangar Bay! I will add that the service we received as terrific! For a little while, I felt like I was eating on the mess deck again! I'll surely be back! Recommend: VERY HIGH!

The flavors were nice and everything was prepared well. However, and this may be just my opinion but, if you're going to call your food truck "The Fried Egg" perhaps eggs should be a part of the make up of most of you menu items. Given the current menu options I think a better name for this truck would be "The Fried Egg is a $1 add-on option." I mentioned to the young lady taking my order that it surprised me that, given the name of the truck, I would have to pay an up charge for an egg. She relayed my sentiments to the cook, who may have been the manager or owner. Nevertheless, I ordered the Classic Smash Burger and did ask for the fried egg add-on. The food was prepared really quickly and the burger looked perfect. However, the young lady informed me that unfortunately they only had 4 eggs left and that they all fell and broke on the floor before my burger was ready. So she handed me a $1 bill as a refund. Obviously disappointed (and skeptical of the story) I accepted the refund and went on my way. The short of it is that while I was eggstremly disappointed by the lack of eggs, the burger was quite good and the fries were wonderful. I would have given this experience 4 stars, I can overlook the name thing, but not being able to have any eggs from The Fried Egg food truck left me somewhat disappointed.
