It may seem strange to not get ceviche at my first visit to Sr Ceviche. Why did I go with another choice? Nostalgia. Seeing Causa on the menu brought me right back to living in Miami & ordering it at a small cafeteria near the Peruvian embassy. So enjoying it again at Sr Ceviche after more than fifteen years brought a smile to my face. I also have to compliment the service which was extremely friendly and prompt. I'll get the ceviche next visit. I ordered the Causa de Pollo- layers of mashed yellow potatoes, shredded chicken, avocado, pink sauce, topped with a boiled egg. It is on the appetizer menu so it is smaller than an entree. I also enjoyed the complimentary cancha (corn nuts) provided.

Had a great experience here! Alexandra our waitress was experienced, attentive, and thoughtful. The food was amazing above and beyond what we expected. Will 100% be back! The ceviche was the best I've ever had! The restaurant was clean and had such a fun atmosphere!

Outstanding new addition to the beaches! We tried the ceviche verde (mixto). It was fabulous. Everything you want a ceviche to be. Shrimp, fish, mussels, calamari in a light and bright acidic sauce. But the star of the meal was the tacu tacu especial. White rice and white beans were mixed together into a pancake. Own fried -Fluffy on the inside, crispy outside.the plantains were sweet and the meat was melt in your mouth tender. The flavors were amazing. I can't wait to come back and try more things. Our server, Alexandra made great recommendations!

This was our first visit here and we loved it! We had a Ceviche and a Lomo Sr. Ceviche. Both flavourful and freshly prepared. Both portions were well sized and had the perfect seasoning. For desert we shared a tres leches which too, was delicious. Our server was super friendly and helped us choose items to order since we never had Peruvian food. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant!

    Love the look.

You can see the sign from 3rd St. So, when we saw a new name, of course we thought it would be great to try a new place! Yay! And, yes, they have a parking lot, no fee. Score! I've been to this location before when it used to be another restaurant. So, I definitely didn't expect the super cute decor upon stepping in. It's simple, clean, and visually appealing. Fun, friendly, quick service. Complimentary corn nuts and water when we sat down. We ordered the Peruvian Beers, because ... it's Peruvian, so why not? Hehe. As for food, we shared an appetizer - Chicharron de calamar (aka fried calamari) - yum! It came with fried yucca and pickled onions, too. We had to get an extra dipping sauce, because yum. Then, I got the Lomo Saltado, because I always order it at Peruvian restaurants. Good flavor, but i felt like the meat was too done for me (personal preference, since I usually order my steaks medium) but still great flavor. Rice and fries, yummm. Yes, I ate it all. My friend got the Aji de gallina and loved it. This time, we got warm food because it was a cold dreary rainy day. Next time, I definitely want to try the ceviches! So, if you find yourself at Atlantic and 3rd St, stop on by and let me know what you try. The pictures on the TV (of the dishes) look amaaaaaazing!

Finally checked out Sr Ceviche. This quaint spot had a variety of options at a great price point. We started with the Tamal, which was not our favorite. After, we split the Ceviche Mixto, which was amazing. We will definitely be back for more ceviche! We also split the Lomo Saltado, which was like a Peruvian Chinese fusion dish. There were tons of other things on the menu that looked tasty I want to try next time.

Lunch sampler with fried calamari, white fish cevichi, and fried rice with calamari, shrimp and a mussel.

I tried this gem for the first time today, but it will not be the last! My friend and I decided we would go with the waitress' recommendations and we got the fried yuca appetizer and each of us got one of the lunch samplers. And then we had two totally, absolutely, positively decadent desserts. Our waitress was attentive and explained all of the dishes to us. Highly, highly recommend.

    Lomo saltado 10/10 !!

My favorite cocktail is the chichimosa. While the s'mores on fire is a really nice show, the base is composed of traditional alfajores cookies. The parmesan ice cream is an interesting and tasty addition, however. -Salmon Civiche (Ceviche Nikkei): 4/5 -Anticuchos: 3.5/5 -Surf and Turf (Mar y Tierra): 5/5 -Seafood Paella (Arroz con Mariscos): 5/5 -S'mores on Fire: 4/5 Service: 4/5 The service is really good. The servers are knowledgeable of the menu and able to answer many specific questions. At times the service felt a little rushed, which is why I gave it a 4/5, but nothing to deter me from going again. Atmosphere: 5/5 It is truly a beautiful restaurant. The décor, the lighting, the cultural aspects on the wall, the different sections of the restaurant...all really contribute to a vibrant and authentic experience. They've recently expanded as well, and I was blown away. Value: 4/5 This is truly an experience. The pricing can be a little pricey, but I believe it is worth it. This is probably not a casual night out for dinner, but a nice date night, a celebration, or an elevated experience. Opportunities for Learning: 5/5 The menu has many traditional Peruvian options with unique twists. The menu maintains many of the Spanish names for the dishes, so the menu will have you googling. I first learned about the anticuchos cooking style at Llama, and I continue to learn every time I go back.

We had a reservation and they sat us right away. Reservations are usually required since they get full real quick. The server was kind and explained the menu and meal service to us. We started with specialty cocktails. Everything is hand made and fresh. You can taste the difference. We got some appetizers. Personally, my favorite was the yucca with the trio of dipping sauces. Each sauce was better than the last, and I wanted to continue eating each one long after it was done. The octopus was delicate and melted in your mouth. The flavor combos in the volcano dish were so wonderful. It was like chips and dip. I was most excited for my meal. The pesto pasta with the hanger steak. EVERY.THING.WAS.AMAZING in this dish. I was savoring each bite. Getting sad when I was reaching the end. The pesto was packed with flavor. Creamy and aromatic. The hanger steak?! Oh boy... perfectly cooked. Juicy. Melted in your mouth. I wanted a lot more of that. What a great piece of meat. I was reallllly looking forward to dessert. And it did not disappoint! I got the s'mores dessert. I love s'mores everything. And this was an elevated s'mores like I never had before. The presentation was WOW. The smore was in a bag that they lit on fire at the table. The fire charred the marshmallow on top perfectly. The Carmel on top of the delegate shortbeard was melt in your mouth. Those shortbeard cookies were incredible. Buttery and crumbly. Perfect. The strawberry compote to mix with it was fresh and bursting with flavor. All the flavors melding together to light your taste buds on fire! I would LOVE to return and try some more items. We had a wonderful experience!

I enjoyed seeing Peruvian culture being repped on all the walls. I had to Google some of the geoglyphs like the monkey one because it was cause for a great debate at our table. The young lady server was very nice and took good care of us. The menu? Everything sounded really good and we had a semi-hard time deciding what to get. We did start off with a Pisco Sour and a Maracuya cocktail. Both were pretty light and tasty. One co-worker had a tooth removed so all he could eat was soup so he ordered the Sopa de Dia which was chicken. He said it was pretty good for the big bowl he was served. One co-worker got the Bistec Apanado (deep fried steak with sides of meduros and fries). He said the steak was tough and his meduros were either not fully cooked or overcooked. Another co-worker got the Bistec A Lo Pobre (flank steak, rice, fries, meduros, fried eggs). She said the steak was tough too. Same problem with the meduros. The other co-worker got the Arroz Con Mariscos (mixed seafood yellow rice). His came out first and it smelled amazing. He's not a fan of cilantro and it was topped with it. He's one of those weirdos that the gene that cilantro tastes like soap lol. He still liked his food and at most of it. He left the calamari rings behind stating that they were too chewy for him. We all tried it and we were pretty split on the statement. I ordered the Mixto Ceviche (raw fish, calamari, and shrimp) with added spiciness. Don't ask me why I chose spicy, I just knew that it was going to be spicy as in more spice and not like spicy hot. It was very good even though I felt as if I had too much liquid on my plate. Sopping it up was out of the question as it was very sea-salty. I'm not sure who's child it was but a young guy came up to me and asked what I was eating I told him and then he walked away. Our table was confused by the reaction but he came back later to take some of our dishes to the back. Slightly odd. I'd come back. I need to try their Chicha Morada (purple corn drink)

Now let's try this new concept here. We decided to sit at the bar and we were handed menus on IPads. Wow, this is different. We can't order on it but it was simply a digital menu. We ordered a few things. For drinks we got the Lula's Blue Pisco (Pisco, blue curacao, coconut cream, agave, like and coconut rum) and a Peruvian Prince (Peruvian Pisco, passionfruit liquor, peach Schnapps, lime, bitters). Both drinks were strong but the Blue Pisco was skrong. We both liked the taste. We later ordered a Mi Amor (7 misterios Mezcal, muddled watermelon, passionfruit, lime). Also strong and I'm not a watermelon person, but it was hard to not enjoy it. For apps, we got the Totstones Achorados (green plantains, mussels, tomatoes, onions, cilantro) and the Chicharron de Atun (seasoned bluefin tuna crackling, fresh housemade guac, fried jalapeno, cambray onion). The Chicharron surprised me as I didn't think the little fish rounds would be such a tasty snack. And the guac was really creamy, not salty. The tostones were impressive. My man said that normally they would be very dry but these weren't. The toppings on them, while not bringing a strong flavor, were cool and refreshing. For entrees, we got the Pulpo A La Parrilla (grilled octopus, fried potatoes, salad) and the Arroz Chaufa with Steak (white rice, eggs, chopped onions, chopped bell peppers, ginger, and sesame oil). The latter is a Peruvian version of Chinese fried rice. This was delicious! The flavors were much stronger and bolder and he could only eat half of it at this point. The rest was taken home and tasted just as good 2 days later. The octopus was great. I didn't think that I would also be getting part of the head with my meal but I was fine with that. I saw some people complain about their octopus being too chewy but I honestly will eat it anyway. I love it. The Peruvian corn that topped it was so sweet and delicious. The side of remoulade I used for everything on my plate as it was a great dipping sauce. We were too full to get dessert and threw in the napkins. The ladies waiting on all of us were so kind and took great care of us. This is definitely a place we will be returning to.
