However, for what they're charging per bowl, getting just a few thin slices of meat leaves a lot to be desired. In the Bay, you get a much heartier portion for the price point. If you're craving pho locally in Yuba City, it satisfies the craving, but be prepared to pay premium prices for a bowl that's mostly noodles and broth. The restaurant was busy on a weekday afternoon! I believe the pho is the big draw here because my noodle bowl was just meh. The bowl looked beautiful and it had all the things you would expect, but even so it tasted bland. I think it was the noodles. They seemed to have been cooked previously and were in small pieces instead of normal sized noodles. The meat was good, all the veggies were good and the fish sauce tasted right but all together it fell flat. My son thought the same thing about his beef noodle bowl. There was one person at the register and would seat the guests and take their order. And that is all she did, no greeting, no check back on the food and no goodbye. She didn't even bring the check when we were done and had to go up and get it. We ran out of napkins and had to go ask for them as well. No water refills, etc. We ordered the two meat and noodle bowls and the other in our party ordered an bahn mi sandwich. It came out with in a couple minutes and then we had to wait another 10 minutes or so for our noodle bowls. Didn't like that either. The broth was definitely not homemade. It was clearly not pho broth, it was run-of-the-mill chicken stock. The chicken was very bland and dry as well. Had to add fish sauce and soy sauce to introduce some semblance of flavor. I could have made that at home for $4, but instead I paid $16 for a bowl of tasteless broth. The staff was courteous and helpful, and the interior design was fine. As a group, we ordered a spread: chicken pho, beef pho, egg rolls, banh mi, and Korean short ribs. Interestingly, the menu was quite different from what you find online--the appetizer list is actually double. They even offer a filet mignon banh mi if you're interested, and the soft drinks don't come in cans. It was a great time catching up, with several topics presented to provide opinions and learn more about ourselves. We spent time afterward outside, where one of our colleagues divulged her schadenfreude, laissez-faire attitude toward death and how we, as humans, are below animals. I had to dub her the "Queen of the Gaslight," as she manifested multiple professions throughout the night, including biologist, doctor, astrologist, and social media influencer. In the end, despite the frightening level of human debasement, her idiosyncrasies are why we enjoy her company; we love her for being authentic. Back to the food. The broth in the pho was good. While it wasn't the greatest I've ever had, it certainly wasn't the worst. With a little hoisin, lemon, and basil, it hit the spot I was craving. The meatballs were fine and the rare steak was tender. The tripe was a little tough, but overall, I feel comfortable giving the bowl an 8/10. The egg rolls were average--I'd lean toward a 5/10--and the short ribs were flavorful, though slightly difficult to eat. Pricing was on the higher end, but being in a mall justifies the cost. Service was good. Place looked decently clean. The food on the other hand was not good. We were visiting and wanted pho. Looked up the reviews and it looked good so we gave it a shot. We tried a few different things on the menu. We got Korean short ribs plate, pho, bun Bo hue, and a baguette dish that u don't remember the name. The only decent one was the bun Bo hue but it didn't taste like bun Bo hue. The pho tasted like a noodle pack you can make at home. When you're hungry, this is the place to come. I wanted to eat something that was almost home cooked and the pho was just that! The broth was good, lots of rice noodles and my tendon/tripe could have had more, even though I ordered extra toppings. The shrimp spring roll was okay. I came here last week on 25 Feb 2023. Overall great place to dine in, excellent location, food was amazing. However, pricing is a little too steep once the Grand Opening 20% off everything is gone by 1 Mar 2023. Will I be back? Probably not, but to show support for the grand opening and the 20% discount is what swayed me to dine in. Because without it, ALL the prices doesn't justify it besides the pho, but the rest TOO EXPENSIVE in my most honest humble opinion! I don't think this business will last going by the geographic demographic here in Yuba City. The local population lives in minimum wage and lives pay check to pay check. I'm just glad I don't live pay check to pay check, and this place doesn't even offer Senior/Military Discount. I've been to the Greater Sacramento Area, and a lot of their prices are more favorable like for a Banh Mi sandwich only $6 with tax, drink $5 with tax, etc. However at Pho Yuba, I don't justify paying almost $10 for a sandwich after taxes but am sure glad I saved 20% off of it from the Grand Opening Discounts. If this business wants to thrive, I suggest re-pricing their menu and take a look at the demographic population of Yuba City. Because I definitely won't be back. Hence, Pho Cali right across the street is much cheaper and sells practically the same thing next to Chipotle in Yuba City. After some mall shopping, I kept seeing people with teas from here and decided to have lunch. When entering the restaurant I was told I could sit anywhere and quickly I given water with a little lemon in it. The aroma in the restaurant smelled so good so of course I got pho #2 and some shrimp spring rolls. Within 5 minutes of ordering, my food was served and fresh. I tried the broth even before adding my usual pho flavorings and was pleasantly surprised how rich in flavor the broth was. The spring rolls were decent but the peanut sauce with the rolls was too watery for my liking but nothing some siracha couldn't fix. Over all the food was delicious for a quick lunch stop and nothing beats a Thai tea to go. If you've never had pho before, make it a point to try this place!!! read more

They need to do better. I won't return. Ordered the vegetarian pho soup as I'm vegan, and I was told it was a vegan soup, though the woman that took my order wasn't convincing that she knew what vegan meant. I also ordered tofu fried rice, again, which I was told was vegan. We were promptly given ice water. I asked for a bottled sparkling water, or any bottled water, and was told they have none. I then asked what bottled drinks they had, and was told they have none. What? Why? Why would you offer no bottled water, or any bottled drinks? The woman eating with me asked if the water was filtered to which the woman whom took our order replied, "I have no idea". And that's a quote. No effort was made to obtain an answer to her question. I can tell you from the flavor that it was not well-filtered water, even if it was filtered. It could have been straight tap water. The food was delivered. It looked good. I started with the rice, and I thought I perceived a fishy flavor. I took a second bite. Yes, that's absolutely fish. I called the woman over that delivered our food, and I said this rice was cooked on a surface on which fish was also cooked. She said no. I said well, then the oil in the rice was used to cook fish, and she said, "Maybe". No maybe about it, I can assure you. I specifically asked if the rice was vegan. To the woman that took my order. If oil used to cook fish is repurposed for my "vegan" rice, it is no longer vegan. I will say the pho soup was good, but if they don't have well-filtered water to drink, what are they using to cook? Likely tap water. Yeah, no thank you. Water is key to our health. To the men and women managing Pho Yuba, you need to do better with water - both for drinking and for cooking. And please educate yourself and the men and women working for you on what vegan actually means. read more

Once you step in the place smells and looks lovely very warming and inviting to say the least . Food was solid across the board we had pork meal , chicken fried rice , shrimp bahn mi and shrimp egg rolls . All where good and full-filling options with the rice being the star of the bunch not dry like most around the area and with real chicken in it . The service was on point you have to be patient there is a language barrier and there is only one person to help . My main gripe would just be the cost of it all was a tad high priced and not many shrimp in my sandwich but that appears to be the norm these days while eating out . I have to admit it, I'm a fan. I mean girl club, weird, kind of fan, of Vietnamese food. There was a place off of Madison Ave and Garfield, in Sacramento, that I totally loved then poof!! It was gone. I've been without for years till Pho Yuba. If only they had rice bean cake like the one in sac. But alas... they do have noodle salad and oh my goodness. Grilled chicken and fried spring rolls to top it off. I am in Heaven. Finish it with chili paste and fish sauce and I'm yours forever. The only complaint I have is I haven't been able to call in my order but whatever, I drive, place my order, and wait 10 min. No whoop! To be fair I have not tried (sh!!!) the other place by chipotle.
