We came here for my daughter's birthday since her favorite Chinese food restaurant was closed. We got veggie egg rolls, an order of shrimp fried rice, an order of chow mein, and an order of orange chicken. The worst part was the orange chicken, it tasted almost like ketchup on the chicken. The fried rice and chow mein had really good flavor, however, the veggies were undercooked a bit -- lots of very raw onions in both. The veggie rolls were delicious and crispy. Absolutely love this place, our family found this little gem while having to take another path to go back to SF. The owner is friendly, food is super delicious and portion is very reasonable for the price. More take outs then sit down dining, but it made it more like having a nice family meal at home. Definitely will come again if I was heading over close to this direction. I really didn't want to give this place a bad rating/review, especially since this used to be one of my favorite places to get spicy thai basil chicken but it was just horrible. The rice was old or over cooked, there was soo much oil in my food that I didn't initially notice till I started moving my rice around. I stopped by on the 1st of november, i've been trying to find a restaurant that serves pho besides that weird ice cream shop hey hey ice cream. I stumbled upon this place on google and decided to check them out. The location is tucked away on the opposite side of the lake, and today it was quite slow. I ended up ordering the beef and meatball pho in addition to sweet and sour chicken and chicken chow mein to go. There were two ladies operating the facility and they were watching television on their tablets and relaxing. There was no music and it was real quiet. The pho eventually arrived, and everything smelled great. The broth was fine, but the noodles were a little too soft. the meatballs had a gamey taste to them, but the beef slices were great. Overall it was ok, it took care of my craving. Later in the day i had the sweet and sour chicken and chow mein. The sweet and sour chicken wasn't really sweet, it was missing pineapples and for some reason it had broccoli in it? The chow mein was just ok, but it was better than the sweet and sour chicken. Not good. I am puzzled as to why this place has such a high rating. The orange chicken had a super thick sauce on it with little taste. The chicken pieces were low quality. The pad Thai had a terrible flavor and the chicken in that tasted very old. To the reviewer who said this is the best Asian restaurant they've ever been to--seriously?? Panda Express would have been better. What a Yelp letdown. 2 stars just because the prices are very low so I didn't feel too bad for leaving most of the food behind. read more

Husband and I have been going here for years. We love the lady that's works here. Since the pandemic, She has had to operate the restaurant on her own. She does does the order taking, cooking etc all on her own. So it may sometimes take a bit longer to get orders out on a timely manner but we're always understanding to her being short staffed. We always order our usual from her and the food is always great. My husband loves her combination pho. Yes, it's not your typical hearty full beef flavor but the broth is still flavorful and light. The spicy raw beef laab (not bitter) is one of the best we've ever had. The meat is so soft it melts in your mouth. The kapoon is very flavorful and I love that it is very coconutty as I like my broth thick and sweet. The kapiek has its days of good and bad, I don't like the texture of the chicken but the thickness of the homemade noodles is perfect. And our final dish, is the Thai basil, love the flavor of the basil, it is not too strong but enough to give it a great taste, I love that she uses ground chicken instead of strips of chicken like most places I've tried. This place is ALRIGHT. The main reason why I'm taking down some stars is because of the service. I've been here three times in the span of a week, so I can at least speak to some consistency. Because of the mixed reviews, I was hesitant to come. Don't expect and upscale restaurant. It reminds me of what you'd see at a Chinese buffet with the red flimsy chairs and random sticky spots on the tables. Parking is iffy. The restaurant is located in this tiny strip mall. As for food, I basically just got pad Thai. I had it made differently both times which was interesting. One time they included HUGE stalks of green onion and the second time they didn't. They're pretty decent portion sizes - it looks small on the plate, but definitely could serve up to 2 people. Wasn't super blown away by it, honestly. But I mean, I still ate it. Maybe they could've added a little sweetness to it? It wasn't cooked incorrectly or anything. Egg rolls are decent -- nice and crispy! Can't go wrong with those. Dumplings are decent too as well as the crab rangoon for appetizers. Their apps are better than Panda Express at least. I got their mango sticky rice and it was so good. My mouth is watering just thinking of it! That is a dish I will 100% recommend. They also serve bubble tea here which I should've gotten. Service was iffy because it LOOKED like there was only 1 lady and she was rarely at the front. Note: you go up to the register to pay (when she's there...). Not sure how many people were actually staffed, but I've only ever seen her which might explain the slower service. Last thing I might mention is that the third time I came here I was trying to order a serving of rice for my friend. It was pretty busy, but they definitely need more staff there because they told me they were out of rice...Take that with a grain of salt (or rice) if you will. read more

Asian Cuisine: this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Husband fiiinally convinced me to go, (he'd been pushing for weeks). I'm not sure why I fought coming here? Maybe because I was wary of the "Asian Cuisine" moniker; "jack of all trades, master of none" came to mind. And indeed, the menu covers many different types of food: Thai, Vietnamese, Laotian, Chinese, and more. I'll admit, I was a Skeptical Sally. I was a fool. A FOOL, I TELL YOU. After having visited 3 times in two weeks, I can report that everything we have ordered, and I mean *everything*, has been fantastic. If you are familiar at all with my reviews, you know that I'm kind of obsessed with Thai food. * The curry here is outrageously good. YYYUUMMM. (Like, for realies.) * We've also had the chow mein, with all veggies for my vegan self. Enormous portion, and really really good. * Husband had the Mongolian beef, to rave reviews. * Four words: Mango with Sticky Rice. DO IT. The location itself isn't anything of note: pretty plain, tv is always on and fairly loud, located up against a liqueur store. * Fun fact: If you sit near the front window, a life size cutout of a beer wench in the adjacent building will watch you while you eat! Definitely a hole in the wall kind of place, but glad I checked it out. I have tried the red chicken curry and the chicken pad thai so far. Of those dishes, I would absolutely recommend the red chicken curry. The flavor of the curry is so savory and the eggplant is a nice touch. Additionally, the prices are very nice! I would have given this place 5 stars had it not been for the pad thai. The pad thai was pretty bad. I mean, it was not disgusting, but it was definitely not good. It was so bland and there was no spice. Maybe it was just an off day on the pad thai, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it. However, if you're looking for a good thai red curry dish, this is your place. I will be coming back for that and I would definitely recommend it to others. read more

I genuinely wish I could give this place more stars, but their service just isn't there. The food itself is mediocre, but after experience (not even my own, just what I saw as someone eating in), I'm beyond shocked and disappointed. I'd rather go to Thai Kitchen not too far from there and get much better and faster service. A few complaints I had: 1) Woman (I believe she is the owner) there is extremely rude. Someone that had received their food, came back. She obviously wasn't happy already that he was returning. He asked to see if his food could be fixed without mushrooms because his children didn't like them. She argued and insisted he did not say that and only said to leave out onions. He apologized if he neglected to say that, but she refused to remake it and blatantly said that, "It's too hard to. I will just give you your money back." You can feel the disappointed as he told her it's okay and that he thought they could work it out amongst each other and he will just take it as is if that's the case. As he left, she walked over to a family that was having lunch and began to try to justify the way she treated him. Mind you, I'm just another customer having my own lunch, but I dreaded if I were to be treated that way, I would lose it. I'm not one to think customers are always right, but I do believe in empathy and not brushing someone off simply because you thought it would make your life more difficult. You're in the serving business. It's YOUR business. Value it. Value your customers. 2) The waittime is extremely long. Try to order ahead if you're on a lunch break. Pretty decent food for the price but nothing to write home about. I have had the Chow Mein, Fried Rice and Teriyaki Chicken. Both the Teriyaki Chicken and Chow Mein dishes have way too much sauce on them, talk about sodium overload. If you ever try the hot tea you will not be impressed at all since it must be some kind of bagged tea such as Lipton. As far as the service goes you will do well if Mom helps you out but the younger help will not acknowledge you as you leave if their friends are there. read more
