My husband and I come here at least once a week. We LOVE this place. This is by far my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant. Our go-to order: 1lb of gyro meat, 1lb of chicken shawarma meat, a fattoosh salad, and their fresh baked pita. We make little sandwiches! We take the leftover meats home and have it for leftovers throughout the week for lunches. My husband LOVES their new homemade barbecue sauce with the chicken shawarma, perfectly balanced. I love that I know they use quality ingredients, and I don't feel gross after eating there. My husband and I have sensitive stomachs, and we're picky where we eat out to - we never have any stomach issues eating here, so this is a regular restaurant for us. And don't sleep on their baklava!! All is so good, but my favorite is the pistachio. They also have custom fresh squeezed juices!!! The staff is wonderfully kind and spirited. The service is excellent here! I can't recall his name, but my server was so nice. So friendly and always smiling. I just randomly found this place right by my favorite coffee shop, Mythical Coffee. It's my first Mediterranean restaurant I've been to since I moved to Arizona. I got the vegetarian sampler which came with grape leaves, baba ghanoush, hummus, pita bread, tabouleh salad, and falafel. It was big portions I made 3 meals out of it! The baba ghanoush is so delicious, I love eggplant! The hummus had cumin, paprika, olive oil, and olives. I'm actually not a fan of olives, but I love olive oil lol. The server also recommended the baklava and they have like 4 different kinds. I got the caramel kind that he recommended. It was really good, but just a little too sweet for my taste. 10/10!! Highly recommend Phoenicia Pita. We ordered from their catering menu for my daughter's first birthday and we received overly generous portions! We ordered rice, pita, falafels, gyro meat, chicken shawarma, and tabouli. For dips we had hummus, tzatziki, garlic dip, and tahini. They gave us more than enough to feed over 50 people at a very reasonable price. We even had leftovers with people getting seconds. Not to mention the quality of the food is excellent. The tabouli was fresh, falafels not dry, and proteins were so tasty. The garlic dip is a MUST!! It's seriously addicting. I normally prefer beef over chicken but the chicken shawarma was delish. Walked into this place on a whim to support local instead of Chipotle or Pei Wei next-door. I was pleasantly surprised. Ryan was great and gave me a free garlic pita, which was so fluffy and delicious! The chicken Shawarma was so good and fresh, and the rice was so flavorful and not dry. I think the most notable part of this visit was Ryan, however. He was very kind and pleasant! I'm happy I happened upon this place and will be coming back with my husband for the rack of lamb. We ordered here for the first time tonight after my husband said "I really want a delicious gyro". We called to make a pickup order and the gentleman that answered the phone was so helpful when navigating the many delicious choices and was pleasantly suggestive to help us fill our craving. When my husband picked up the order, he was given above average customer service. They were super friendly and the pickup was ready as promised. Short version: the food was okay, the service so-so, but it's not a place that we would make the drive to again (not from Laveen -- and yes, we will drive a long distance for great food!) Longer version: It's not a very large restaurant, and with the other shops around them, parking may be a bit tricky. We popped in Saturday for an early dinner. We were seated right away, and the young guy took our drink orders & delivered them quickly. The first thing to slightly irritate me was the glass was so full of the darn ice I couldn't get a good swallow of the guava juice. Maybe it was shape of the ice, but I finally had to ask for an extra glass so I could scoop out all the ice and actually take a drink! We ordered the hummus appetizer, which came out with hot pita, but both the hummus and pita had a "store bought" atmosphere to it. The pita was the pocket type, so for me it was a bit thin and dry (I like my pita thick & fluffy). The hummus was creamy, but compared with other Mediterranean places we have frequented, their hummus tasted slightly bland. The presentation was nice though. The second thing to slightly put me off revisiting Phoenicia was when the meal came out. Don't get me wrong, the meat was very flavorful, but it's irritating when EVERYTHING is piled onto one semi-small plate so when you start digging into your food, the food starts falling off the edges. It felt as if, once the food was delivered, we were forgotten. My sister did ask for another glass of water, but it was never delivered. I will say I saw only two servers, so maybe it was a short-staffed issue, but as many times as our guy walked past our table, you would have thought there would have been an "oh yeah, she asked for water" moment. You pay up at the counter. The final thing to set me off was when our guy was ringing us up, then took a phone call, and stayed on the phone, leaving us hanging, waiting to finish our transaction. Again, maybe it's a staffing issue, but hey, finish with the customer that is in front of you, PAYING, before moving on to the person on the phone. read more

GO TO PLACE! this will always be my go to place for Mediterranean food. EVERYTHING is so delish. I always get the combo plate and share it because it comes with HUGE portions. The Greek fries are AMAZING! The baklava is theeee best. They have so many different options of entrees. Every plate I've ever ate there has always been consistent and made to order. Decided to play it safe and go with a chicken kabob plate with side of green salad, rice, and added on hummus as well. Loved it! Chicken was juicy, well marinated, could taste the lemon and herbs perfectly balanced. The side were all amazing as well. The kicker is, my girlfriend got the ghallaba with chicken and I absolutely regret not getting it. I ate a lot off of her plate. Stopped here as we need to grab a bite to eat waiting for our dog to get a groom. So glad that we did, what a wonderful little spot. The decor was really nice. The staff all were wearing masks (correctly), and had us grab a table to sit down (every other table was blocked off for appropriate social distancing. We both ordered a salad - Gyro salad for hubby, chicken shwarma on greek for me. WOW! it was great (with the exception of the beets - not a fan). There was SO MUCH meat on both salads, we took about half of the meat home for another meal tomorrow. I had also ordered a side of stuffed grape leaves - good news/bad news they never arrived. While i will need to try them at some point, I would not have really enjoyed them today - too much to eat. As we checked out the wonderful lady at the registered gave us a piece of baklava and wow as good as the salad and meat was - this was delicious, a melt in your mouth treat. Ordered delivery from here a few days ago--wanted to start with that note because I am sure that affected my experience. I had the Falafel de Luxe with rice. Generally, the flavors were good; however, the pita was too thin. So, when I tried to pick up the pita, it totally fell apart. Additionally, the falafel was extremely salty, which made it a little bit difficult to eat. However, there was plenty of rice, and so I was able to eat small pieces of falafel with large bites of rice. My s/o ordered the chicken shwarma with french fries. Unfortunately, the chicken was bland and dry. The fries are harder to get a good gauge on, as they were soggy by the time they arrived--not the restaurant's fault, but hard to comment on fairly. The price is fair for the generous portion sizes, but not worth it. read more

Vegan reviewer here! I brought my boyfriend here for the first time because he wanted falafels. Right away we were seated and went straight to the vegetarian section of the menu. They have a couple options to choose from but we decided on the falafel de luxe to share and a small plate of hummus for an appetizer. Just make sure that if you get this platter to ask for vegan dressing. I believe we picked Greek instead of ranch with comes drizzled on the salad. Our food was made fairly quickly and was definitely a good portion size for a quick bite. The falafels were fresh and moist and came with plenty of sauce and the pita pocket was loaded with veggies. The hummus was also tasty! We also used the check-in discount from yelp and saved 50% off the second item we purchased. We ended up walking out the door spending about $11.
