I ordered a chicken dish of chicken Slovakia or chicken Gyro or chicken kebab I told him twice I don't eat beef or pork just chicken food came and it was beef. The shell was chin so little three bites and it was gone and their peppers they put in the salad were not pepper Cheaneys they were hot as heck burned my mouth they should warn people. For newbies, basically it's a blended mixture of lamb and beef like a meatloaf but instead of baking, it's cooked on a spit with their seasoning. Let's talk about this family run gem in Mesa. They are very friendly and can guide you to order exactly what your tummy craves. The food, portions and flavor are on point! The falafel is NOT gritty; instead it's perfectly made, fried with a firm exterior, but is tender inside. The gyro meat is top notch texture and seasoned deliciously. Decent food. Generous portions. Bad experience. Walked inside to order. The restaurant had no air conditioning. It was hotter than Haiti in there. I detected a putrid smell inside. The place needs a thorough scouring with bleach (and not Fabuloso). The heat just made the odor worse. Tried to sit inside to eat bc it was 115 outside. However, with the uncomfortable temperature inside and the stench, I was only able to eat a 1/3 of my gyro before having to leave. I LOVE the food here. HATE the service. They are posted to be open until 7. They won't take orders past 6:30. They NEVER answer the phone. I called from 6:25 -6:50, non stop before they answered the phone to tell me the kitchen is closed and I needed to call before 6:30. I have been hitting redial for about 30 minutes. The service is RUDE and argued with me. I wish these were not the best gyros around, because I'd love to see ANYONE else running the place. They obviously don't NEED the business or care if they grow their business, or even keep it. Go for lunch, do not expect any service for dinner. read more

We just moved to Mesa today and had a craving for a gyro and stumbled across Gyro Place it's a 10 minute walk from our new house so we decided to try it. The owner was extremely nice we had ordered our food to go and something must've came across wrong when ordering because our order was wrong. Instead of getting 1 gyro combo and a order of Greek fries we got 2 combo's and was charged for both. The gyros were very good tons of flavorful meet and fresh veggies in both. The fries were your average frozen french fries out of the bag all in all it wasn't a bad experience by any means what I do highly suggest is that if you get a to go order to check it before leaving the restaurant to make sure you get what you ordered. read more
