Rude and slow service, dirty restaurant and dishes. The dining patio constantly smells like cigars. Valet guys sit outside smoking too, my car smelled like smoke when I got it back from them. The food is mediocre at best. There is no reason to visit here when there are other wonderful places who value your business and have better food. Please don't come to this place! I met a few people at this location for a business meeting. Tony was a jackass from the beginning. I order spiced chai hookah before the rest of the party arrived, his response was "who still smokes spiced chai- that's so old, people are still smoking that?"keep in mind, this jerk is 20 years older than me. I asked Tony for the cocktail menu, while he is walking over he takes a call on his personal cell. When I finally asked for a cocktail menu he said to me " we're a full bar, what do you want?" So I was a bit surprised by his response! I told him I would just wait for the party to arrive. He walks over a few minutes later and approaches me by saying "you good?" Like a fucken mobster lol. Nothing against the mafia, but this guy made me want to run out this place! I complained about the guy, but come to find out he is the manager! He ends the night by saying "I'm glad you had some wine because you needed to chill out, you arrived to tense" he also said " when people say things about me, I don't take a personal I just take it as disrespect!" Keep in mind he is saying these things to me in-front while I'm in sitting of colleagues. I was absolutely embarrassed. I approached him with respect at all time, but to receive so much disrespect I was astonished and humiliated. Sadly, I don't think they even pay attention to Yelp reviews because there's no way a business can go on for so long with so many bad reviews aiming towards one main issue without addressing it. Also, I believe the owner is an elderly man we saw walking around in a suit. With that said.... I was just remembering when we had a work event there, we were the only group that were mixed raced and Americans. They had a performer there who thought it would be ok to put whip creme on my face as part of his "act". Needless to say, I was shocked and when me and my boss went to complain, the man agers of the place ( a woman short and about a size 20x and a forgetful faced man asked me what I did to deserve it...like we were back in Iran, they probably would have stoned me if they could. We came here with a group of about 30 people to celebrate my grandmother's 80th birthday back in February. Everything went so well! The food was absolutely delicious, and an abundance of it! Mediterranean style food, and plenty of different options. The service was great, we were a huge party and they accommodated us very well. They also had a fun session of live entertainment, singer, belly dancer etc, such a fun addition to dinner. Loved this place, would recommend it to all- big parties to small gatherings to one on one dinners, its perfect. read more

Today, my wife and I had a delicious lunch at this restaurant. We were greeted by "Nova" who suggested a couple items off the menu. With Nova's help, we selected the cabbage salad, mixed grill, humus, and pita bread. Everything was freshly made and delicious. I ordered additional cabbage salad and grilled chicken to take home for later. Nova added additional cabbage and bread as a complimentary finish to a great meal. Nova gave us special attention that we appreciate. The owner of the restaurant greeted us as well at the beginning of our meal. Overall, very good meal with excellent service! Go elsewhere, this place is absolute garbage. Its so unfortunate that I'm writing this review as Phoenicia in Glendale used to be my absolute favorite restaurant. Despite safety concerns resulting from a shooting incident that took place in April where 2 people were shot, we still decided to go back. My best friend and I went here for my birthday the other night. The service was absolutely horrible!!!! I never took the time to read their reviews which pretty much validates what everyone is saying. I really do hope they can turn this around as this is a staple in Glendale and loved by so many. You would think after frequenting this place over the last 12 years, they would be a little more friendly and warm to customers they recognize. After ordering a few items off the menu, the server literally said, "that is enough". We were not done ordering. Middle eastern cuisine consists of various appetizers on the table. This is a well-known tradition and it is no one's business how many items we order off the menu. The more items= a bigger bill=a bigger tip. Ridiculous!!! Our server who has been there the longest out of all of the woman, had no interest in taking an order, or even being there to say the least. Dry, rude, slow, annoyed as if she was doing us a favor taking our order. food was below average and the quality has drastically changed. I understand the costs of running a restaurant in 2023 are not the same as before, so I am understanding of that. The quality has changed at many restaurants, likely related to various factors and product availability so this may not entirely be their fault. We used to go 3-5 times a month at minimum but over the last year, since I've moved over an hour away, I have gone there 3 or 4 times and each time it has been worst than the last. Sadly, I will never go back. On a previous occasion, in January, we must have asked for the heater to be turned on atleast 10 times. No one came, no one even bothered, literally 10 times. At this point, we felt like we were begging. We paid our tab and left and said we would never return. It was unbearable cold, even though they offer an outdoor patio which can be comfortable with heaters, good luck getting anyone to turn them on for you. The crowd has drastically changed as well. In all honesty, I did not feel safe here last night. I understand, the restaurant has no control over which guests patronize their business, so I am not blaming them for that, however this is definitely not someplace I feel comfortable going ever again just for this reason alone. It has gotten worst and worst over the last few years. Now I understand why there was a shooting here. The staff is run down, exhausted, miserable, annoyed, tired and not happy to be there. This is very sad. I will however compliment the older gentleman who is responsible for the hookah service. He is an absolute sweetheart. This place is great for any night of the week. Come to relax have some hookah or a cigar. Food is good. The chicken skewers and kefta kabob is always good with rice and salad. I have to say this place has the most amazing food! For $36 you get a drink including 25 types of appetizers and barbecue! I really enjoyed their amazing salad, hummus,chi qufta,baba ghanouj. Rice with lentils and can't remember the rest! Honestly when they brought out all the appetizers I was drooling! By the time you were done eating the appetizers you were full and we got to take a lot of appetizers home, including the barbecue! I gave them three stars because of the service , singer and no belly dancer when promised! I have to say the waiter never came once to see how we were doing. I noticed him asking every other table, but us. When he came by we asked him if they have Old Fashions he said yes we have an open bar, and just walked away. I would think he would have asked if we want one. We now know not to order an old fashion because they are known form just shots of vodka! On the website it stated there is a belly dancer performing, but she never performed. She was there, but never performed. It was very disappointing because we were ready for a show! We Sat on the patio where there was music on and inside there was a singer. I think it would have been a bit better if they had one or the other. I wish I can give this place a 5 stars, but unfortunately they gave me many reasons not to. This place used to be so good and I wanted to take my parents there this time around. It was such a disappointment. The worst thing about this place is the service. The servers were so rude and they treat you as if you're eating there for free when in reality they are overcharging you or charging extra for something you didn't even order. When I tell the server sorry but I didn't order this they responded back with a bad attitude and told me that I did order it. When the server brought it over (which was the Ashta dessert) I was surprised and asked if it was complimentary he said yes it is. Sana (I think thats her name) shes the only lady waitress.. She gave me a bad attitude when I told her I didn't order and she insisted that I ordered it but anyways it was removed off the bill. This place needs a MAJOR Customer Service adjustment! Another thing we couldn't even use the bathroom! My mom literally walked in and walked out because of how dirty and unsanitary it was!! The food was mediocre. The mantee and kibbeh were the only good appetizers. We didn't even bother to order anything else. We also ordered makank and they also didn't have it and said they ran out. The Killaj was so bad it wasn't even real Killaj it was just pita bread with mozzarella cheese made in a panini press. It wasn't authentic at all! My mom is a wine drinker so the first glass she ordered she liked it (which was a Cabernet) , but then send 2nd glass wasn't the same wine it was completely different my mom said it tasted like Stella Rosa and again the waitress Sana insisted it was the same wine. When they exchanged it for my mom she automatically noticed the difference and knew that it was a completely different wine. The hookah was okay and the outside seating area is nice. Unfortunately I will never come back to this place again. You're better off going to Eden, Carousel or Zahle if you want amazing Lebanese/Armenian food. We always left the restaurant hungry! My husband and I had lunch there today. Excellent environment, friendly staff, great menu, we highly recommend this restaurant, the food was amazing!! and the service was excellent. I've always seen people wishing there were 0 star reviews - now I know the feeling. If you want to feel unwelcome and as if people are annoyed you're there to give them your money - this is the place! It would be too long to describe how incompetent and rude the service is - from waiting 10-15 minutes when seated, asked for drink order without offering a wine list, being dismissed with "It's only by the bottle" when we asked for the wine list to being told a small bottle of arak was "too big for us" and then it goes down from there. The majority of our 90 minutes wasted there was 50+ of being ignored after we were served while other waiters were standing around talking to each other and pointing at people. The muhammara was dry and might as well be a plate of ground walnut dust. Although we ordered appetizers and entrees together (we were afraid she'd disappear again) and asked to get appetizers first everything came out together- waited and waited to ask for bread to have it thrown on the table. We were so ready to just go that we didn't notice they had already added gratuity. However at least we left our thoughts on their service on the bill. Sadly, we overheard the man I recognize from the photo above as the owner telling the staff "customer service, customer service, customer service." The Worst Customer Service I rarely, almost never write a review. The appetizers are fine, fish is burnt and dry, but the worst is the customer service. The environment is pleasant, however, the floor is dirty with cigarette buts and trash. Overall, the prices are over the top and it's not worth it.
