This was probably the worst food I have ever had at an Asian restaurant, sadly. The waiter was attentive and food came out quickly but those are the only redeeming qualities here. There was no one else there but us so maybe we should have known going in that it wasn't going to be very good. The Lo mein was just noodles in soy sauce, possibly some oil in there too. Absolutely zero flavor. And the steak was so chewy and thick that we actually questioned if it was real meat or not, it was super tough to get down. The chicken was not cut into pieces that were edible and it hadn't been trimmed, still had vessels attached so it didn't get crispy like it should have. We ended up spending around $40 yet leaving all our food on the table because it was a terrible experience. The waiter knew we were unhappy but didn't offer to fix any of it. Here's a nice little hidden gem hole-in-the-wall hiding on the edge of civilization. It's not much of a character spot, with very little decor or atmosphere..And you will probably be eating alone since much of their customer base are takeout-only from the nearby housing development. But their food is surprisingly fresh and satisfying. I've only tried their Americanized menu items so far, but they do also have some authentic entrees as well. What I have tried had good flavors, portions were big, and cooking was proper -- breadings crispy and not too heavy, meats juicy and tender, and sauces popping. Nothing soggy or swimming or too greasy like you too often get elsewhere. Orange chicken was especially tasty, a superior recipe to the rest of the metro, with a lot of orange peel flavor in that addictive, sticky, caramelized sauce. And the little chicken morsels literally pop in your mouth. I would ask for a little more spicy heat next time, which they have no problem accommodating. Hot & sour soup had the right rich flavor, but was a little light on my favorite vegetable ingredients. Steamed rice was also on point. The folks running the place are super friendly and chatty, just lovely people who really take pride in their food. I'd definitely go out of my way to try more of their menu. Super awesome DEAL. It was flavor packed and the seasoning of the chicken was there!!!.. Yummo. The food came out piping hot and still was when I got it home. I also ordered an extra 2 pack of egg rolls. It was pretty delightful & delicious. +5 stars I will go back for sure. They get a phenomenal review from me. The staff is friendly & delightful as well. Piedmont house roll with soy paper and add spicy Mayo is my go to every time! I have to fight my 9 year old for it. In fact I got 1 piece out of the entire roll today! Bento box: The bento box is where it is at though! Amazing amount of food for under $13 bucks. You get a choice of soup, egg roll, 2 Rangoons, choice of rice or lo mein noodles, sweet & sour chicken and then choice of entree. We usually get take out once a week from here and will order 2 separate ones and it easily feeds all 4 of us with leftovers! This place is a hidden gym. I do not go to the other place in town after the last time I was there a server picked his nose and then picked up my plate from the window and brought to our table. Service: has always been great at Phoenix. They are quick and polite and very attentive. Takeout: we use the online ordering and food is ready in under 20 minutes 95% of the time. Makes to go so easy and convenient. I know Covid has hurt all food service. So I hope everyone comes here and keeps them in Piedmont. Great hidden gem! We've been here a couple times with either family or friends. Both times it was great! We usually order a vegetable dish, noodle dish (for the kids), and a few meat dishes. I will say it was all pretty good. My favorite is the "basil shrimp" which is lightly dusted shrimp, fried, then tossed with some onions and sweet sauce. Their salt and peppers items were great and I loved the batter since it wasn't too thick, maybe more on the thinner/crispy side. Noodles name out piping hot, but our family preferred the udon over the lo main. Owners are SUPER friendly and presentation and flavors are great. Food isn't overly salted or oily. Finally stopped in to try Phoenix Asian Cuisine and wish I would've done so sooner. This place is amazing. I had the Basil Steak with noodles and it was absolutely incredible. The steak was cooked perfectly. The peppers and onions were cooked perfectly. It paired perfectly with an ice cold Sapporo. All in all, a perfect experience. The selection of food is incredible, the lunch specials surpass other Asian restaurants in the area, and I was in awe of the amount of food for the value. I got the Bento box with chicken chow mein and it included rice (white or fried), sweet and sour chicken, 2 crab rangoon, an egg roll, and soup but I deferred for the lo mein. Came here on a Sunday night at 8 and there was no one inside but us :( they do close at 9 so maybe that's why? Anywho, there was 4 of us and it was smaller than expected inside! We use to go to Grand Village all the time and heard the owners opened up this place. We were in the area so of course we had to go try it! We ordered the walnut shrimp, Peking style pork chops, udon with beef, salt and pepper tofu, and salt and pepper pork chops. Garlic water spinach is a staple but they were out of it unfortunately. Everything came out pretty fast! Everything tasted good! Fresh, and the quality was definitely there. Although the salt and pepper tofu was probably the least thing I was interested in. Usually it's a staple for me but I wasn't a fan of how they made it. Everything else I thought tasted really good! We live all the way in Moore and so this is a really far drive for us but if I'm ever in the area again, I'm definitely coming back here! Ordered the sesame chicken lunch special to go. Paid an extra 2.50 for the lo mein side thinking it'd be the good stuff that included the veggies... it was just the noodles. For an extra 2.50... Everything sorta just had an "off" taste. The crab Rangoon filling tasted like pure miracle whip. The sauce on the chicken was too much with very little flavor and thick like jelly. The cashier didn't say more than a word to me so I didn't get the friendly, good service vibe that was in all the other reviews. Maybe we will go back and try something else or done in the evening to give it another chance, but my first impression was disappointing unfortunately. I do love to support the local businesses so I hope this review will help you all improve.
