I have been wanting to try this place for years! It's been in my bookmarks for quite some time. Finally got a few cold rainy days and knew I'd be heading in. I love the 2D concept. It's inviting and so unique and fun! I wore some bright colors for a good contrast in pictures. When you walk in they have a huge menu screen on the wall plus they will give you a laminated menu to hold and look at. They also have pictures of some of the dishes next to the register. As a filet mignon lover I naturally went for the "pho-let". I also ordered the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls. I was given a number and found a seat along the wall featuring all the planets. Everywhere you look is something fun and quirky. Even the drink dispenser is only black and white! It was cool to see the well known drink logos in b&w. I also really loved the bowl of pho and drink characters holding hands throughout the place. After a short time the egg rolls arrived at the table with a glistening cheesy sauce on the side. The crunch was amazing and the meat inside was quality! Nicely chopped with a great chew. The sauce had the peppers in it and had a kick of spice as well. Awesome snack! Then the pho arrived and it was glorious! A generous serving of filet lay across the top and the server asks you how's you like it cooked and then pours the broth over top accordingly. I couldn't stop watching as the steaming broth filled the bowl. Perfect for a gloomy day. The first bite was everything I expected and more! Tender filet, perfect noodles, all the accouterments and that broth that was seasoned to perfection. Multiple times my table was checked on and the server even brought out extra goodies like sprouts, basil and limes. I was so content. I couldn't finish the ginormous serving so I grabbed a to go bowl conveniently located near the drink dispenser. I will definitely be back and I will be telling and bringing everyone I know. Omg yum! I cannot believe we didnt try this until now, we come to Chisholm Creek all the time and just tried some noodles from this place today. We tried two different broths - the beef pho broth, and the red curry broth. Both broths were SO good. Super flavorful, with portions insanely huge too. The meat was nicely thinly sliced and fresh too. I love that you can choose the noodle type you want, because I love udon noodles and the hubby loves ramen noodles, so we both got to customize to our own liking. The environment is amazing... I love the decor. However, finding a bone in my chicken after it jabbed me in the mouth is not great... And my husband specifically asked for no scallions on one of the bowls he brought home because he's allergic to so many things. And he came home to discover the encrusted scallions in both bowls so basically that means he didn't eat. For the price per bowl, I'll probably go back to my regular pho place. Service is great and the atmosphere is really the heavy hitter when it comes to this place! It's definitely a novelty type of place and the environment is fun for kids and adults! The boba drink was over $7 as well and I got the dragon berry but the flavor was lemonade ish. Not worth the price really. It's been about four months and i decided to visit again so I could try the kimchi fries and have the "Black Ox" pho again. I left feeling very disappointed. The kimchi fries were good but they didn't have a lot of kimchi. The pho tasted weird and was not the mouthwatering experience I had last time I visited. I've had pho a few times and I'm not a fan. However, this place has changed my mind. Best Pho I have ever had! The broth was so good. I added a little hoisin and sriracha to add some extra flavor. Good portion sizes. I had about half my soup left to take home and finish later. We got shrimp spring rolls as well. They were good but the rice paper tasted very chewy. I have a new boss these days, and if I could write a Yelp review, she'd get five stars for introducing me to Twenty Pho Hour and their pho alone (also 5 stars cause she's great, and no, she's not reading this, I just like saying it!). Let's talk about my reaction. I had seen the restaurant online already, because their interior is AESTHETIC my friends. If you want an Insta-worthy spot to eat at? Here it is. Here they are. I spent half of my meal just exclaiming in excitement over everything, because it's all so cute. INCLUDING the fact that they sell drinks in heart shaped and teddy bear shaped bottles. First, important to know, it's pay first, more like a chain fast food spot. Honestly, that makes it perfect for shared meals. I hate splitting checks because my math skills aren't as good as my eating skills. The menu is large and easy to read, right when you walk in. They also have a small fridge with their bottled drinks (they also have water, soda, and other drinks!), where I grabbed the last teddy bear, filled with a matcha-y milk. SO good. I love an appetizer, so I ordered the Lao Pork egg rolls. OMG were these delicious. They had plenty of filling without being overfilled, were piping hot, and were just sooo good. Five stars all the way, but they were absolutely outshone by the true star of the show: the pho. Now, I know, I know. I got a premium bowl and yes, it was not cheap. Yes, you can get cheaper pho, and yes, I'm sure you're sure the pho place you get yours from is better. All I hear is blah, blah, blah because prior to my visit, I was a "pho is fine but I don't go out of my way for it" to "THIS IS THE GREATEST THING EVER AND I AM A PHO CONVERT". The "Black Ox" is...mind blowing. Out of this world. Worth every penny and more. In my opinion, this is the best bowl of pho in the city. The broth smells divine, tastes amazing, and I could eat it alone and be satisfied. So much flavor! Then, the meat: eye round steak (very thin slices of beef) and ox tail. Ox tail is one of my favorite things. This was fall off the bone tender, and fatty in that perfect, buttery way. Round steak? Perfectly cooked and tender without falling apart, just ideal. Amazing. AH-MAZ-ING. Finally: service. SO friendly and polite. Food came out so fast and was steaming hot. If I worked nearby, I'd be here every day and go broke for that ox tail. One of my favorite things is that they put out takeout containers, so you don't have to ask. You just get what you need, and off you go. Y'all, just...it is COLD out. Now is the time. I like the 2D animation and the artwork, definitely not your typical pho place. The staff was friendly and service was quick. We started with the fried dumplings which was good. Then we both had their combination pho. They don't use the normal pho noodles but flat noodles as you see in Pad Thai. So there were a lot of broken noodles. The pho broth was so light, that it lacked that beefy flavor and we came during lunchtime and that's like the best time to taste pho. Maybe they are trying to Americanize it? But the meat was good. Ordered a couple of apps for the table Fried sampler platter for $16 this was SOO wackkkk 2/5 i don't know what I expected but did not live up to par Krab Rangoon- it's ok. You taste more crab. It's not as sweet as other rangoons. Tempura shrimp - ok Kimchi fries 4/5 likes this way better The broth was very light and didn't taste like it was simmered for 24 hours. They don't use traditional pho noodles here. It's more of a flat pad Thai style noodles. And it was a bit too soft for my liking What we ordered: Black ox - 4/5 my husband got this one and the oxtail was very tender. At Twenty Pho Hour, I love the black and white designs of the building more than the pho. There is just something about black and white designs that make it look awesomely unique. Too bad the food have a lot to be desired. The pho broth is light, and not savory enough. Compare to some other pho places (which I will not name), broth needs to be more flavorful. Broth tastes about the same as my brother's homemade pho. Thankfully, the meats taste better. Twenty Pho Hour uses flat rice noodle instead of the traditional pho rice noodle, a rather bold move. This could work if they are able to maintain the "springy" texture of the rice noodle. The flat rice noodle was just soft without any "springiness." A small detail I noticed is the sriracha being used is of a different brand, not of Huy Fong Foods. This fact won't affect the food, just something I wanted to point out. Staffs are adequate but I feel like the service was still slow. This will certainly improve with time. Nevertheless, I had no problem with the service received. Now, only one question remains. OK SO HERES MY REAL AND RAW OPNION. First off, this restaurant is not your typical pho restaurant. This restaurant is catered towards their unique decorations and style. It is a quick service restaurant where you order + pay up front then get a table number where the food is brought to you. Came with 3 pcs that contained a lot of noodle. It was fried to perfection!! However, I'm not sure if they have sugar inside the meat? But it tasted like it shares the same oil as funnel cakes, the egg rolls had a hint of sweetness to it. Id love to try other appetizers if I return. Both phos had the same broth. The Black Ox came with 3 ox tails that were super soft and fell off the bone with my chopstick!! It doesn't taste like it was boiled all together but it was very nice to see more than 1 oxtail. Overall, the meat quality is much better compared to other places I've tried. So... would I come back? Yes of course but it won't be one of my first choices if I'm craving for pho. Very cool addition to the Chisholm Creek area. It's on the west side next to Domenico's. From the outside it looks like it's still under construction but it is definitely open and all the windows are blocked to give you the 2D experience. Everyone was very friendly and helpful if you have any questions. A great place to go to take that friend (you know the one I'm talking about) who's never had phở before. It's pronounced like FUN without the N, not like FAUX. However I was disappointed to discover that Twenty pho hour is not open for 24 hours. OKC lacks late nite eateries. The broth is cooked for 24 hours. Very adorable place. We had the steamed chicken dumplings and the shrimp spring rolls. I had the Trifecta- wheat udon noodles, chicken, shrimp, brisket, beef broth. He had the TRex Pho - gluten free broth contains fish sauce, rice noodles, slow braised short rib, rare steak, brisket and beef broth. My new favorite spot for a noodle fix!! I came here for the first time a couple of days ago, and it was incredible! The 2D look made for a super cute ambiance, and the service was spectacular. All of the waitresses and waiters were super nice, and I really enjoyed how welcoming and kind everyone was. Now, for the food. When I say that the noodles were OUT OF THIS WORLD, I really mean it. I will update my review later once they get more settled in. Today was kind of a bust because they were so packed at 4:30-5pm! Currently it's their soft opening still and you can follow them on Facebook and make a google review after eating to receive a 20% off discount next visit, but our main entrees weren't that good so, we didn't care to leave a review right away for the discount. However, if you order an appetizer and entree you can choose a free drink or dessert. I wanted the matcha cheesecake and they were already sold out at 6pm. So, my hubby got the regular NY style cheesecake with some fruit drizzle. Anyways, we ordered the crab Rangoon, kimchi stir fry with udon, and vermicelli noodles with chicken. My kimchi stir fry was just okay. It was edible, but tasted extremely watery. My shrimp wasn't fully deveined so, that kind of grossed me out. There wasn't much good parts of kimchi either. It was all the scrap part of the kimchi and copious amounts of onions which I can't really eat raw and fermented onion like that. My hubby's vermicelli noodles were undercooked, and very "al dente" he did not like it much. The crab Rangoon was good, it's just your basic fake crab Rangoon. The dipping sauce had remnants of other stuff that landed in the sauce so, the presentation was a fail. My kimchi stir fry was supposed to come with a perfectly poached egg, but they undercooked the egg, and it busted by the time it reached my table, another presentation fail. The owner/management did come to our table to apologize and asked for some constructive criticism, and he was very polite and professional. So, I understand all the hiccups as they were busy, understaffed, and having some HVAC issues due to the extreme heat today. Overall, the restaurant is super cute and perfect for social media posts. The food on the other hand is not that good right now. There's a lot of kinks they still need to workout so, I'll update my review in the future. Not your average pho place! I was pretty excited to try this place because I saw how cool it looked inside. The decor didn't disappoint, it was certainly trippy and really fun to look at and experience in person. It's a pretty small place, when you walk in you are face to face with the counter to place your order. I cant imagine how crammed this place was when they first opened. The staff was very kind and friendly. Everything is self serve, you get seated and the food comes to you but you refill your own drinks, get your own utensils, etc. The water cups are tiny and the water was coming out as a literal trickle. I saw some comments about how it was stuffy/hot inside, but they had a portable AC going when I was there and it was comfortable. As far as the food, I tried the Trifecta "pho". It was actually a good size portion. Came with your usual sides of bean sprouts, basil, lime. This bowl comes with udon noodles so I could hardly call it pho. The broth was alright. I made it my own by putting in chili oil and hoisin so I liked it. I enjoyed it, but there are just far better places to get pho in okc (and cheaper). Overall enjoyed the experience! Absolutely the worst pho I have ever had! The broth was bland and no amount of hoisin sauce or salt could fix it. The pho might be simmered for 24 hours (which is suspect due to the light color), but the cook needs to taste their own broth and season it right. The brisket was also dry. The only thing good was the wider pho noodles which reminds me of the type in Viet Nam. Overall it was so bad, I couldn't finish my bowl. There is no sunlight since all the windows are covered.
