If you believe in cannabis, cannabis freedom, or cannabis medicine, DO NOT stay at this hotel under any circumstance! When I checked in, the room smelled like a bad combination of vomit cleaned up by chemicals. I had legal cannabis oil that I bought at a legal store that I left open on my dresser to cover the smell. Someone complained about the smell and I got a knock on my door from hotel staff, There was no smoke in my room which their employee confirmed. However they kicked me out of the hotel at 9:00 p.m. saying they were zero tolerance. the hotel said I was not allowed to have any cannabis on my person even if I was not smoking in my room. I said I would put it in my vehicle, however that was not good enough for them. I am 47 years old and travel all over the country with cannabis medicine. I have never ever had an issue anywhere. No warning, no courtesy call, just kicked me out on the spot. Cannabis is completely legal for adults in Oregon. The hotel is completely out of line. No one that believes in cannabis or the rule of law should ever stay there. Shame on them read more

Rooms are clean, bathrooms cramped, burnt orange color is terrible, indoor pool area echoes so bad I had a huge headache. Oh and there is a weird window placement while relaxing in pool area that is a birds eye side view of whoever is on the treadmill. The prices are good and the staff is friendly and laundry room is helpful! Breakfast is pretty decent for free. read more

Pro: good continental brkfast included, comfy rooms, nice staff, decent poo/jacuzzi, quiet. Con: Indoor pool area was uncomfortably hot, sinks are located outside the bathroom, and bathroom smelled like pee. We stayed here July and for $129 for 2 queen beds, it was worth the price, compared to $150-$180 for other 3 star hotels. Didn't like their pillows. A little dated. read more

Wow, this was a gift from our children, a weekend in Eugene.. (so no comments on the price.) Walk in the lobby and it is inviting. The desk is quick, and friendly. The room was large, very clean with a slight cleaning mixture smell. Two sinks, and a very small bath/toilet area. Very friendly cleaning staff, and very friendly and helpful desk staff. Good parking. The motel is quite close to busy Franklin Blvd., but quiet. Breakfast is more extensive than many places. Pastries, rice, yogurt, biscuits and gracy, waffles, and more. Again friendly staff. No complaints read more

Stayed here a couple of months ago while checking out University of Oregon. PERFECT location for visiting U of O, especially if you don't have a car. It was a short walk through town to the edge of the campus and got to see a fair amount of the campus while making our way to the Alumni Center where the tour started. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room spacious and comfortable, One odd thing, the vanity in our room (two double beds) was in the room (outside of the bathroom). Seemed a bit odd, but worked well and (as my husband pointed out) avoided the mirror getting fogged up by the shower. Taking off one star for the breakfast. While it *looks* nice, the eggs were not good (probably powdered) and the sausage patties pretty much inedible. On the plus side, the coffee was decent (and I'm super picky) and there were plenty of other options. I never eat waffles, but the make-your-own waffles were delicious. read more

I liked this place a lot. Our room was inexpensive, yet very clean, nice, and comfortable. The location was really convenient for grabbing a drink and food at a joint near campus, then heading to the Cuthbert for a concert. Last minute booking at this hotel. Met by very friendly staff at desk. Ice water and fresh coffee Iobby. Room was very clean. Parking seemed safe and was very convenient and well lit. Got there too late to swim but checked area out and pool looked clean. Breakfast came with room fee. Great breakfast. Not just all carbs. Had healthy choices as well. Would recommend to family and friends and would definitely stay there again. Price was $50 less than other comparable hotels. read more

I stayed here for a week for training at my job. The front desk and other employees are so friendly. The location is close to this fantastic Thai restaurant and the Elkhorn. The parking is great, not one bad thing to say but I did want to commend the front desk for getting me my car keys back. Long story short I live in Bend and took the company car over the pass. But I also took my actual car keys along with my house key because that was incredibly smart, and I left them in the drawer near my bed. I was in a rush to get home and completely forgot to grab my actual keys. When I got home with the company car, I realized this and called the front desk and was able to get my car and house keys back. They didn't discard them, which would've totally been my fault. And they were super nice and not put out by it at all. My co worker ended up going to training the next week and was able to pick them up and get them back to me. We have stayed at many hotels in the Eugene area (our son goes to school there) and we had never had a better experience then what we did at the Phoenix Inn this past week. We were welcomed to check in early by a front desk clerk named Courtney who happened to be our biggest help while we there. She recomended a great restaurant and gave us perfect directions. Our TV had a glitch which she fixed right away. By the way she treated us you would of thought we were the only ones in the hotel. When we were leaving we were greeted by Kyle who checked us out with no problem. Best customer service I have ever seen. The hotel itself is not a fancy one but is well worth the money. The location to U of O, the spacious rooms, included breakfast was all just what we needed. We will go back to this hotel because of the great people and the amenities that came with. read more

I stayed one night at the hotel in February 2015. I woke up in the morning to find my bathroom counter COVERED with ants and there were ants in my bed. I video recorded the ants and showed it to the front desk staff. The hotel offered me no compensation. You also get a lot of noise from the trains that pass by across the street. I would NOT recommend. If they would have been more sympathetic to my situation then I would have given a higher rating. read more

I was coming in to visit my son at the University of Oregon during the busy parents weekend that is put on by the school once a term. We were worried about whether or not the hotel would be booked but we were able to get a standard room at a pretty decent price all considered. The room itself was accommodating. The TV had a great selection of channels, including MSNBC (Big Fan), which I was impressed with and its location on the corner of campus is hard to beat. Also, the hot breakfast was enough to get you going in the morning. However, the best part of my stay had to have been the service provided by the nice young gentleman at the front desk. I was so impressed I even made sure to get each of their names. Alex and Mike both helped my wife and I locate a great local restaurants to dine at (Ox & Fin) as well as hearing about the Ducks baseball game on Sunday. In a college setting like eugene, local businesses almost have to hire students, but these two showed exemplary attention to their posts. Needless to say, These kids are going places. Also, let the record show that this is my first ever Yelp review, I just had such a wonderful experience I was inspired to let others know about it. You go Phoenix Inn! read more

I stayed here for business for almost 2 weeks. The rooms here are nice, beds comfortable. My room included a frige and microwave and that was helpful since I bought some of my own food. The staff is friendly and was always helpful in suggestions for ideas for dinner. The breakfast has a variety of choices the star probably being the make your own waffle station. If I ever need a room again in Eugene I would definitely try and book a room here. read more

My stay at this hotel went from bad to worse. It started with not being allowed to park in the parking lot (understandable since they were booked out). I was directed to the overflow parking that was "directly across the street". To get there, I had to drive several blocks down the road and come back down. The first lot I pulled in, the one directly across ffom the hotel, was actually permit parking for a different business. So I had to make a loop again to try to find this lot. After a 45 minute advdnture I was able to find the overclow parking hidden behind a construction zone. The lot had no lines, lights, cameras, or clear marking. The pay system for that was not used friendly as you had to have a phone to log into the website to pay. Luckily, after the day of travel and work, I had enough charge to do this. Once I made my treck back to the hotel (now a block away from the overflow parking lot) I had to make up my bed on the fold out couch. The matteres was basically cardboard and the blanket was about as think as a tissue. Nevertheless, I snuggled in for the night... AND FOUND A BED BUG!!! Crawling down my body. When I took it down to the front desk, the clerk did not seem to care how serious it was. I have no faith that the bed bug situation will be addressed properly or that the issues will go further than the night clerk. read more

We originally called a few days before our stay . I spoke to the lady at the counter who was very helpful and informative , turns out she is a manager. We agreed on a price went over packages and I thought had everything set . Pre ran credit card etc . The wife and I showed up and went I went to check in the young man at the counter was questioning everything about my stay it kinda put me on edge , so I started to confirm what I had agreed to a few days prior , he didn't want to give me the aaa discount of 10 dollars . He didn't put us on the third floor like we requested , keep in mind this is suppose to be there nicest room at 200 a night and only 2 of these rooms in the hotel, I then asked about the 1pm check out like promised before , he said I don't know who told you that but it's 12 , now in looking like an idiot , I said well the lady I sole to said 1 was fine he said that was the manager and she would never say that . His whole attitude was he was doing me a favor , I said I want the 1 pm check out as we are paying 200 a night he said he would have to run it by housekeeping manager and would let me know in am . Never heard a word . As to the room if you can make it past this guy was older , wall paper peeling in bathroom , ac/ heater didn't work would shut in and off intermittently, the frig didn't stay cold , the bucket for the ice was a leather wrapped plastic bucket and the leather was coming off . We stayed at the same hotel in bend same room and it was unreal how nice it was , there is no comparison to the quality of this room . This was more on the scale of a best western . Not with the 200 a night I paid . Wife was disappointed as well Hope this helps someone in the future read more

Horribly disappointing experience. In town for Eugene Marathon with a group. Only allowed one car per room rented. Other guests were instructed to park in paid lot across the Blvd. Turned out the paid lot was several blocks away and NOT across the street, had to pay by credit card online after setting up an account. The lot was unsecured, secluded and not safe. When that disaster was waded through and we settled in for the night we found bed bugs. Absolutely disgusting! The faucet plate in the shower was lose and fell off when turning water on and off, and finally we found face wipes from the previous guest. I do not recommend this hotel and will never stay again. read more

Stuffy rooms, ugly decor. We booked a suite and were given an L shaped room with 3 king beds. No living space, no privacy doors. The bathroom was poorly lit and tiny. The shampoo and body wash were installed as soap dispensers in the shower. The sink and vanity mirror are outside of the bathroom so you'll find yourself brushing and flossing in front of everyone. Ultimately the beds are comfortable for a night of sleep and if you must stay near University campus this is ok but nothing to get excited about. The free breakfast buffet was average. There's an Original Pancake House next door I recommend eating there instead. Sorry Phoenix, I think there is a better hotel for my money. read more

Family trip to participate in running race. Party rooms making noise in and out of hotel until 2 am - NO INTERVENTION FROM HOTEL. Disaster of a hotel was the talk of the race as others had also had their races ruined. Hotel tried to say that they "did their best", either a deceit or incompetence, either way don't take the chance on your trip being ruined. read more

When we checked in, I thought we'd made a big mistake. The hotel was crawling with college kids dressed in less-than swimsuit attire for something called the "Foam Party." However, the desk manager assured me they kept strict quiet hours. Sure enough, I didn't hear a peep the whole night through. Plus, the pool and breakfast were more than adequate. read more

Stayed at the Inn in Eugene to catch an early flight. The manager on duty when I arrived in the early evening was very rude and made several snide comments when responding to our questions. When reserving the room, we were assured that there would be a shuttle to the airport available to us. However, the man at the front desk informed us that we would not be able to take the shuttle because we didn't "reserve a spot 24 hours in advance". Considering that we discussed taking the shuttle when making the reservation, I was a little put off by this. He did assure us that he could call us a taxi and that it would only cost us about 25 dollars plus tip... Rude service made the stay unenjoyable. I will look elsewhere when staying in Eugene in the future. read more

Avoid dealing with Kaleb at the service desk at all cost!!! We came to the hotel as part of a wedding party. As part of their block of rooms, the bride and groom had arranged for guests to park at the hotel and take a shuttle to their event. We parked and went to the front desk to be greeted by Kaleb. We asked for the parking permit so we could park in the mostly empty lot. Kaleb refused. We explained the situation and that it had been communicated that the parking permits were part of the event booking. Kaleb, without missing a beat, simply said, "no, you cannot park here". Rather than attempt to find a solution with us or check with anyone about any special agreements, Kaleb stood his ground. Later we discovered that we could have simply used the parking permits attached to the booked rooms for other guests that didn't have cars. Kaleb didn't bother to either discuss the situation with his supervisor (instead alternating between telling us that his supervisor wasn't at the desk and that HE was the supervisor) or work to find a solution. Be very wary when dealing with this hotel and their staff. If their hiring decision with Kaleb is any indication, they are not hiring people who should be in guest services. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING AND BE PREPARED TO USE IT WHEN YOU DEAL WITH THEIR FRONT DESK. Be prepared before doing business here! Or, even easier for you, just avoid the hassle and don't do business with them. read more
