    dirty ceiling fan

DO NOT RENT THIS CONDO. - sorry I could not give a lower score. We stayed at Phoenix V, Condo 015. It was horrible. This unit is in no shape to be rented. I tried multiple times while there and afterwards to get a resolution, but no one would contact me. No one ever contacted me to discuss my concerns nor have I been sent a survey even though I was assured they would multiple times. 1. The unit was not as pictured on your site. The living room sofa and chair were not the same as in your advertisement. The sleeper sofa was broken (on the floor) which made it hard to get up. The living room and dining area furniture were dirty. 2. The entire unit was dirty. The ceiling fan blades were nasty, the light over the dining table had cob webs. The floors were surface cleaned and were dirty on the edges. 3. The bath tub in the master bedroom has mildew between the tub and shower. 4. The door knock to the secondary bathroom was falling off (we borrowed a screwdriver and repaired it) 5. The shower in the secondary bathroom does not operate correctly, therefore, everyone had to shower in the master bathroom 6. The bed rail that is in the closet to use for small children is filthy. 7. There are spots in the secondary bedroom as well as the living room where one ft. Chunks of the ceiling have fallen. 8. The kitchen cabinets are peeling. 9. The refrigerator has cracked/broken shelves 10. There are 2 extra remotes in the living room, one that does not have batteries, nor a back and the other seems to go to lighting. 11. The outdoor lights (patio and path) did not work when we arrived. I had the complex fix those items, but they said the owner had to do the other repairs. I have pictures of all issues. It would not have been so bad if the unit had actually been clean and not surface cleaned.

EVERYTHING!! This place makes no sense to me. First we were in lobby waiting for unit to be ready (1102) & several people got stuck in elevator. Heard from an employee it happens often. Get to unit & pictures will show what we found. Broken door latch, dishwasher full of water on bottom, blinds torn to pieces, moved coffee pot & dark water came from bottom so I bought vinegar to clean the damn pot, toilet overflows, maintenance comes but we had already unstopped it, throws his nasty gloves in trash can in bathroom, garbage disposal doesn't work at all, curtains in a drawer not put on window, pay $173 for beach chairs to sit on front row but, it's actually sitting behind people that bring their personal set up sooo.. you get to look at people & their umbrella's not the ocean. It's a total joke around here!! If you come bring all your cleaning supplies to mop with. They wouldn't send anyone to clean the overflow of toilet. I've stayed in many condos & I have to say this is the worst EVER!!! So Alabama can't say I'll be staying at a Phoenix that charges $300 a night to have such conditions as these. Florida you have them beat my millions!!!!

Another great stay at a Phoenix property in Gulf shores! This year, we opted to stay at Phoenix V Condominiums because we only had 3 families this year. Upon arrival, we were able to pull right up to the unloading area, grabbed a couple of carts (which were plentiful) from lobby, unpacked the cars, and headed up to our room. A hiccup in our check in as the cleaning lady was still cleaning our condo. Nothing against Phoenix V as this was not managed by them. The condo was great as we were on the 15th floor (top floor) so we had a great view of everything. The condo was clean, bedding was nice, kitchen had plenty of appliances and utensils, and the large tv in the living room was nice. The pool area was clean and the splash pad was a huge hit for the kids. The short walk down the wood pier took you right to the beach where you can hang out for the day, go back and forth between the pool, or a quick break to your room for lunch. The condo was walking distance to Live Bait or Ruby slipper and a quick drive to any of the nearby grocery stores.

Definitely a fun stay with loads of activities from a spacious work out room, splash pad, indoor and outdoor pool, and of course the beach! Some things holding it back from a 5 star rating is that the room was dirty even though we had to check in 2 hours late although they did give us 1/2 off room service. I would definitely come back and visit again though! Great for the family!

We reserved here for the 2017 Ahsaa state track finals. We have stayed in the other Phoenixes as well but this by far is the best to me. I will definitely come back with family and let my kids use the kiddie area. They also have an indoor pool, racquetball, fitness area, and meeting rooms. The staff is very helpful. They also have am ice vending machine inside the main lobby. Great place to stay.

    Bugs behind plastic guard.

(Room 1511) This place is pretty cool. Staff was helpful and nice. Currently during this COVID-19 pandemic, they do require you to wear a mask as long as you're on the property unless you are in your room or swimming. However, for the money I spent renting one of these condos, I do feel like it could have been cleaned a little better. The plumbing was not so good either. The shower takes about 1.5 - 2 hours to full drain.

The staff were all helpful and friendly. There was someone playing live music at certain times of the day. The room was clean and had a simple but nice setup. The shower had great water temperature and pressure. We had an ocean view room which was worth the extra cost. Waking up to the beach every morning was so satisfying. Reading on the balcony while listening to the ocean sounds and watching the waves was everything that I needed. The hotel has beach towels that are easily checked out through a machine. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available first come first serve to hotel guests which is very convenient. There was a heated outdoor pool, a volleyball net and a few games inside. We ate all of our meals at the hotel. We ate at the grab and go food spot. I ordered the feta and spinach croissant, a chocolate chip scone and a cappuccino. We also ate dinner at the latitude 30. I ordered a ceasar salad and calamari. For breakfast at latitude 30, I ordered the French toast dish that comes bacon and I ordered a side of eggs. We also ate at the fine dining restaurant onsite where I ordered the seared scallops dish and the vanilla crème brûlée. All of the meals that we ate at the hotel were very tasty. The restaurant staff were all kind and the utensils were spotless. I believe food may have also been served at the bar near the pool, but I didn't try any food from there during my visit. I really had an enjoyable time at this hotel and I plan to return in the future.

Live music every day by the pool was awesome! And talented performers! The beach itself is right behind the resort and has the softest sand. Wanted was rough but we were still able to get in a slash around and jump some waves. The property was recently purchased by new owners after being owned by sand owner who opened it in 1987, which is impressive. Mervin in the restaurant was kind and friendly and been there 12 years. Glinda in the restaurant was the SWEETEST lady there. She maker the omelettes. (Get the omelettes!! Yum!) John and Greg are great pool side bar tenders. The gentleman at the lobby bar was also friendly and attentive, we didn't catch his name. The list of things we wished were different is short. Could have used speakers playing music during the times at the pool when there wasn't live music. Wait times in the restaurant were long. (Food was hit or miss...not horrible but mostly unremarkable... However the spinach dip at the casual restaurant is off the charts and the wagyu steak at Voyagers is incredible!!) We cannot say enough about the marvelous staff. We will definitely be back! We wish them luck in this transition.

(I had called earlier commenting about no coffee in the room and was told there was a coffee bar in the lobby... never any mention of a charge) Mortified, walletless, not knowing what to do, I dumped my coffee in the waste basket and went back to our room. We are staying here for a week so I called to ask how much the coffee was and was told $3.75 a cup. Now our idea of entertainment since my husband can't move around very well is sitting on the deck by the ocean and drinking coffee.... The main complaints were that it involved too much walking (from the parking lot, to the room, etc). Unless you are significantly disabled and if so, I have no idea how you get around in the world, it's really not much walking at all. If you think this is too much walking, never live in NYC you will not survive. If the issue is walking from the parking lot, do valet and you don't have to walk from the parking lot. If the issue is walking from the main building, you have to walk MAYBE 1/3-1/2 of a football field to the building where the rooms are. It's such a nothingburger it's like a joke. If anyone thinks that is a lot of walking, they probably need to call Dr. Now. Another issue I saw in a review is that it is hard to find. It isn't. Like, at all. There is a sign and you can see it from the road. I hope that person is ok they might need to get their eyes checked. Now that I'm done talking shit, let's talk about the good things. Everyone is very nice and helpful. The views are stunning and from everywhere. From the main check in lodge, from the pool, from the beach front view rooms, from the restaurants. We had a balcony and it was just water/beach/gulf views. It was legit comparable to resorts we stayed in in Cancun and Seminyak, Bali. The water wasn't quite as "blue/turquoise" but not much The Lodge can do about that. The room is very spacious. The bathroom is lovely. The shower was wonderful. The bed was super comfortable and soft. The AC worked very well. There were a bunch of outlets on my side but less on the other side (however there were outlets on both sides). The restaurants had, as I said above, excellent views. They also has wonderful staff and very tasty food. They could have done better with the vegetarian options. The bread was probably the best part and was some of the best bread and whipped butter I have ever had. They do that shit where they text you and ask if you need anything, which is very helpful especially for us millennials. GF asked me to request an extra blanket, which I did. The response time was great, it was super fast. They told me they would send one up but never did, which was a bummer. Another piece of feedback, shortly after 8:30am, we had a knock at the door. GF was in the bathroom and I was getting dressed. They knocked again. I, half dressed, opened the door. It was housekeeping asking if we were checking out. Uh....yeah, we are.. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. What if we wanted to sleep in? What if I was out and GF was on the toilet? What if someone was getting out of the shower? It just feels like an invasion of privacy. It just seems wild that housekeeping felt like bothering us to find out if we were checking out. I would definitely stay here again if I returned but I would put the "do not disturb" sign up

It was at the end of the hall, so it was very spacious. It had a small microwave, small fridge, coffee maker, and a safe. Room was clean, bathroom was nice, WiFi was sketchy (more on that in a sec), and pillows were flat as pancakes but that's literally every hotel we've ever stayed in, so no points deducted for that. The only complaint is that the maintenance guys (internet guys?) unexpectedly came in two times (once on Thursday & once on Friday) to work on our room WiFi. We had been having trouble with it, but had not filed a repair request. Apparently, they were changing the boxes out in every room so every time our WiFi dropped it was because we were unknowingly connected to surrounding rooms' WiFi since ours didn't work and as they were taken offline, we saw it as it happened. It's good that they were changing out the boxes but we didn't understand why the front desk didn't give us a heads up. After all, they had texted me twice, once with the welcome text and again with a follow up text. A simple FYI would've been appreciated. Other than that non-communication, everything else was great. Beautiful view of the gulf, with beach access and a heated pool. Good, central location between Fort Morgan, Gulf Shores, & Pensacola and front desk employees were professional. I would recommend!
