Wish I could give this place zero stars. My family and I have been staying at all the Phoenix properties majority of my life and this has been the worst experience so far. We were in condo number 1107. The condo was absolutely filthy when we got here. The entire sofa was covered in sand. The rug by the sofa had so much sand and other crap on it that it was clear that this place had not been vacuumed. The microwave was covered in food. We have two sliding doors to the balcony and one of them won't open at all. The other door handle broke off while we were trying to open the door. The bathroom mirror was filthy and the shower curtain was half way hanging off the curtain rod. The only thing that had been changed were the sheets and the towels. This is the most run down condo I've ever stayed in. I called the front desk and then went down to the front desk to talk to a worker about the condition of the condo and it was obvious that the person working couldn't haven't cared less about what I was telling him and he rolled his eyes at me the entire time and said he'd let house keeping know. It took three days for someone to show up and clean the room after having to tell them three different times about the issues I was having. When you pay $223 for the cleaning fee alone, you expect the place to be spotless. The beds feel like you're sleeping on nothing but springs. The living room tv wasn't working and I had also called about that and was told someone would come check it out and no one ever came. I could go on and on about how funky the condo is and how run down this entire building is. I usually book through air bnb and this time I booked through Brett Robinson and I will not make that mistake again. I won't be staying at this phoenix property again. Couldn't be any more disappointed especially for the price you pay for these condos. read more

Stayed in Phoenix 5 in Unit 1007 from 7/5/25-7/9/25. One of the worst condos I've ever stayed in. MANY people said they will never come back. That was the main topic on the 20 minute elevator rides. This place obviously gets a lot of people once. That's the only way they are still renting. Elevators don't work. You will be waiting for multiple elevators to come bc they are too small for the buggies. Don't even try to use them from 4-6pm. Someone got stuck for 45 minutes in one and the emergency button doesn't work. They had to call 911. UPDATE: 4 people were stuck in the 3 days we were there. One elevator never worked. People were having to carry their beach wagons and groceries up 10 plus flights of stairs. In Unit 1007, you can hear your neighbors above you when trying to sleep in the main bedroom. This unit is by the elevator, so when sleeping in the main bedroom, you can hear everyone screaming in the hallway. You can see all your neighbors on their balconies, to the point you have to pay attention to what you're wearing bc people can see up your shorts/dresses. It's the worst layout I've ever seen. You can literally have conversations with your neighbors outside and hear everything on the balconies around you. Outside, you can't hear the ocean for all the people in the pool. Couldn't swim because someone threw up in the pool. No lights in the kiddie area for some reason. The ceiling is extremely low. The one bedroom units are small. The bathrooms need updating. There's only so many times you can paint over old trim. In general, the unit was clean. You have to pay a separate fee to park. Parking is outside, far away. I've stayed at other Phoenix properties 15 or so years ago and never had this poor of an experience. They have gone down hill. Checking in should be simpler by putting the passes/bands in the room on arrival. The owners did try to decorate the place nice. The bed is horrible. We couldn't sleep because our backs/hips hurt so bad on the hard bed. The linens are dirty and scratchy. Stains all over the extra blankets. There were only blinds on the main bedroom window that opens to the breezeway. I felt like people could see me as they were getting off the elevator. Cheap pillows and furniture. You can tell when a condo is used by the owner because everything is a little nicer, these owners probably don't use this condo personally. The dishwasher was half hanging out of the cabinet. I did appreciate that they had streaming channels, nice balcony furniture, satellite TV and the kitchen seamed to be pretty well stocked. The beach chair rental, Ike's, had the nicest employees. The beach was nice as well. If this is all you can afford, it's not terrible, but if you can spend an extra $300, don't hesitate to stay in a better condo. This condo is in desperate need of an overhaul. It should not cost this much to rent a place with broken elevators, claustrophobic units, and non-private balconies. read more

Phoenix V Condo #1111 - Orange Beach, AL One Word Description: Meh... We've stayed at Phoenix V and VII prior to this visit, and have been pleased. This time (6/2024) however, the condo at Phoenix V #1111 was subpar. POSITIVES: The best thing about the condo is the view plus the high-top table/chairs on the patio. They made for easy viewing of the beautiful gulf. ODOR: I am very sensitive to smells and when we first walked in, I detected a stale odor of smoke (thank goodness I brought Febreeze). DATED: The unit could use some updating, for sure. Everything was dated and the white wicker dresser in the bedroom had drawers that were starting to fall apart. COOKING WARE: The kitchen ware was quite sparse. There wasn't even a large pot to boil shrimp. CLEANLINESS: The overall feel was grungy and not as clean as other units we've stayed in. The rug in the living area was dirty and worn. We put an extra sheet on the couch as it felt gritty and had an odor. The knobs, etc. on the kitchen cabinets were sticky. ELEVATORS: One of the features we typically appreciate are the 4 elevators. There seemed to be only 2 working elevators and it was maddening! I felt sorry for the families with little ones having to wait for LONG periods of time for an elevator. PRICE: For the price, this particular unit is lacking and I wouldn't recommend staying in condo #1111. read more

only 1 elevator EVER works. families were stranded with buggies for over 45 minutes at the elevator trying to check-in/out. The front desk took their phone off the hook so they didn't have to hear complaints! The front desk was conveniently not at the "front desk" frequently. We will never stay at this property again. So many families were expressing that the elevator issues literally caused them to change plans during the visit to avoid an hour way to leave and return. Terrible! read more

DO NOT RENT THIS CONDO. - sorry I could not give a lower score. We stayed at Phoenix V, Condo 015. It was horrible. This unit is in no shape to be rented. I tried multiple times while there and afterwards to get a resolution, but no one would contact me. No one ever contacted me to discuss my concerns nor have I been sent a survey even though I was assured they would multiple times. 1. The unit was not as pictured on your site. The living room sofa and chair were not the same as in your advertisement. The sleeper sofa was broken (on the floor) which made it hard to get up. The living room and dining area furniture were dirty. 2. The entire unit was dirty. The ceiling fan blades were nasty, the light over the dining table had cob webs. The floors were surface cleaned and were dirty on the edges. 3. The bath tub in the master bedroom has mildew between the tub and shower. 4. The door knock to the secondary bathroom was falling off (we borrowed a screwdriver and repaired it) 5. The shower in the secondary bathroom does not operate correctly, therefore, everyone had to shower in the master bathroom 6. The bed rail that is in the closet to use for small children is filthy. 7. There are spots in the secondary bedroom as well as the living room where one ft. Chunks of the ceiling have fallen. 8. The kitchen cabinets are peeling. 9. The refrigerator has cracked/broken shelves 10. There are 2 extra remotes in the living room, one that does not have batteries, nor a back and the other seems to go to lighting. 11. The outdoor lights (patio and path) did not work when we arrived. I had the complex fix those items, but they said the owner had to do the other repairs. I have pictures of all issues. It would not have been so bad if the unit had actually been clean and not surface cleaned. read more

EVERYTHING!! This place makes no sense to me. First we were in lobby waiting for unit to be ready (1102) & several people got stuck in elevator. Heard from an employee it happens often. Get to unit & pictures will show what we found. Broken door latch, dishwasher full of water on bottom, blinds torn to pieces, moved coffee pot & dark water came from bottom so I bought vinegar to clean the damn pot, toilet overflows, maintenance comes but we had already unstopped it, throws his nasty gloves in trash can in bathroom, garbage disposal doesn't work at all, curtains in a drawer not put on window, pay $173 for beach chairs to sit on front row but, it's actually sitting behind people that bring their personal set up sooo.. you get to look at people & their umbrella's not the ocean. It's a total joke around here!! If you come bring all your cleaning supplies to mop with. They wouldn't send anyone to clean the overflow of toilet. I've stayed in many condos & I have to say this is the worst EVER!!! So Alabama can't say I'll be staying at a Phoenix that charges $300 a night to have such conditions as these. Rooms and Beach are great. But the elevator situation here makes me never want to come back. It takes anywhere from 5-10 minutes to get on an elevator. Not to mention there's only 4 elevators that fit 8 people, but with cleaning ladies and people with all their beach crap there's only ever 3 people in an elevator for a building that holds 1000 people. If you plan on staying here then pack extra light and plan on taking the stairs every day. read more

Another great stay at a Phoenix property in Gulf shores! This year, we opted to stay at Phoenix V Condominiums because we only had 3 families this year. Upon arrival, we were able to pull right up to the unloading area, grabbed a couple of carts (which were plentiful) from lobby, unpacked the cars, and headed up to our room. A hiccup in our check in as the cleaning lady was still cleaning our condo. Nothing against Phoenix V as this was not managed by them. The condo was great as we were on the 15th floor (top floor) so we had a great view of everything. The condo was clean, bedding was nice, kitchen had plenty of appliances and utensils, and the large tv in the living room was nice. The pool area was clean and the splash pad was a huge hit for the kids. The short walk down the wood pier took you right to the beach where you can hang out for the day, go back and forth between the pool, or a quick break to your room for lunch. The condo was walking distance to Live Bait or Ruby slipper and a quick drive to any of the nearby grocery stores. read more

The condo was ok but the floor was dirty when we got there. Couldn't use the dishwasher because the handle was rusted and wouldn't move. The sofa was wore out on one end. But my biggest complaint is they only provided "starter" toilet tissue. The comment was made this is not a hotel it's a condo. Yes it is but you are in a resort area and renting as a resort. You would think they could atleast supply toilet paper. The views were amazing. And the staff were always nice. Stayed in many condos this one is average for the price. read more

We had a fantastic stay! You can't beat the views and beach access. We also enjoyed the pool and splash pad. We played shuffleboard but it's on the tennis court in the direct sunlight. They have other games you can get too like cornhole. The front desk staff and management company that you get your parking pass from were okay...not overly helpful or friendly but got done what we needed. The only drawback is the elevators being slow. Definitely a fun stay with loads of activities from a spacious work out room, splash pad, indoor and outdoor pool, and of course the beach! Some things holding it back from a 5 star rating is that the room was dirty even though we had to check in 2 hours late although they did give us 1/2 off room service. I would definitely come back and visit again though! Great for the family! read more

Phoenix V has been our vacation place for the past 2 years. We stay in unit 1006. It is beach front, with fantastic views. The condo is updated , kitchen well stocked and it was very clean! The Balcony has nice outdoor furniture on it. We enjoyed having morning coffee out there watching the gulf. We even saw dolphins. The kids loved the pools, and splash pad. We rented through Beach Getaways in Orange beach, they were very nice, and very accommodating. read more

If you are looking for a COVID safe place to stay at I would absolutely NOT recommend. The policies and cleaning procedures posted online and throughout the building that were supposed to be being followed were in fact not being followed. We stayed at Phoenix V and have for the last 5 years and will not ever again be back. The elevators were filthy, the outdoor pool had puke in it that was ignored, and was way over what it's occupancy should have been during this time, half the staff would have their masks off when I would see them, I never once saw anyone cleaning except for people cleaning in rooms when guests checked out, the cleanliness of our unit was subpar and everything in our unit was falling apart from the faucets coming out, furniture that was broken, and wall decor barely hanging on the walls, my 16 month old accidentally broke a lamp in our unit and I tried to do the right thing by calling the front to pay for it and we looked everywhere for a replacement (which we found for $75) I got a call back saying the single lamp cost $250 to replace, let me be clear that nothing in this unit was properly working or installed so to ask for $250 for a lamp seems absolutely absurd to me and everyone I have spoken with. Every night my husband and I treated our unit as we do our own kitchen and cleaned up every much of the kitchen and where our children had been. This is something we do constantly at home, of course I would treat a strangers space with the same courtesy and respect. Back to my B/R issues though, things within their control. No one was social distancing and guest were not wearing masks. In elevators we were a family of four and already pretty crowded ourselves in the elevator and every ride someone and even one time up to 5 people would jump in with us and while we were wearing our masks they were not. Smoking, cigarette butts and empty beer cans were everywhere, when we were on our balcony trying to enjoy breakfast or lunch or dinner you could always smell smoke from a neighboring unit, in the pool people and their cigarettes were everywhere, my child almost got burned at one point and on the beach while sitting in our rental chairs 4 groups around us were all smoking, letting their trash fly all over the beach, etc. our door was ding-dong ditched every night by the family in the unit next to us, mind you I have a 16 month old and 4 year old who were in bed by 7:30pm every night. Also three times we got on the elevator someone had pushed every single button. Children were constantly left unattended in the pool and splash pad areas, at one point I saw a 5 year old girl babysitting a 2 year old girl in the pool, because that's safe and while that is outside of B/R control if this is the kind of clientele they are serving I do not want to be going to these properties. From what I've gathered in talking to locals I did interact with they said they would never stay in any of the B/R properties. So if this company has that kind of reputation with the locals to me that's speaking volumes and I don't want to be apart of that. This trip was supposed to be a relaxing trip for us, our daughter was born still during the early months of COVID and she was due to be born this week, so this was a mental and emotional escape to somewhere we could relax and enjoy ourselves as a family and we did not get to do that like we have in years prior. The Phoenix V property from my experience over the last 5 years is continuing to go downhill and I can not recommend it to anyone who is looking for a family beach getaway that's also responsibly practicing COVID mandated guidelines from the federal and state health agencies. Not exactly worth the price. We stayed at the Phoenix V last week. The condo is small (which is to be expected from any beach front condo in this price range). Our particular condo was dirty and not kept up well. We were so disappointed. The view, however, was amazing. We were right above the pool. The amenities were okay. We were excited about the indoor pool and hot tubs since we did stay in April and the weather was cooler toward the end of our stay. The hot tubs had a layer of scum on the top.. yes all three hot tubs. The splash pad and outdoor pool and lounge area was nice. We enjoyed that a bit. Also my iphone was stolen from the beach. Not the condominiums fault, but still crappy.. Overall, if the condo was cleaner we would have been much happier. read more

We reserved here for the 2017 Ahsaa state track finals. We have stayed in the other Phoenixes as well but this by far is the best to me. I will definitely come back with family and let my kids use the kiddie area. They also have an indoor pool, racquetball, fitness area, and meeting rooms. The staff is very helpful. They also have am ice vending machine inside the main lobby. Great place to stay. read more

Dirty. Elevators were useless. Tile floor in our condo 403 was like an ice rink, slightest moisture made it miserable. :( I'm in good shape and could hardly handle flip flops on it! I slipped a few times and so did my children. The bedroom widows were hardly protected from the light and noises in the outdoor breezeway... super disappointing! read more

(Room 1511) This place is pretty cool. Staff was helpful and nice. Currently during this COVID-19 pandemic, they do require you to wear a mask as long as you're on the property unless you are in your room or swimming. However, for the money I spent renting one of these condos, I do feel like it could have been cleaned a little better. The plumbing was not so good either. The shower takes about 1.5 - 2 hours to full drain. read more

This is our first time staying at the Phoenix V. We have stayed at other Phoenix condos such as Phoenix West, Phoenix West 2 and Phoenix IX. We are not pleased with this stay especially for the price!!! Upon arrival the toilet was clogged when our daughter went to the restroom. We were told a work order would be placed and my husband requested a plunger as the one in the unit was broken. The front desk acted as though they could not do that but ended up giving us one at the desk. 2nd day here and Maintenance has not come. When we arrived we dropped our belongings in the room and went to the pool. When returning and getting ready for bed, we found no sheets for the sofa bed, dirty sheets in the bedroom and the floor had not been vacuumed in the bedroom. The placemats still had food on them. My husband went to the front desk to request clean sheets and for the room to be cleaned. At first the worker questioned why we were just not reporting it until she saw that we had already placed a work order for the toilet. We were given fresh sheets and told housekeeping would come. Housekeeping has never come. When placing a load of laundry to dry, the dryer now does not work. Also one outlet where a lamp is plugged doesn't work because the plug keeping falling out the outlet. The building needs updating as you can tell that it is older. We give it 1 star because the pool area, splash pad, and the beach are nice! We stayed in Unit 202. read more

We stayed in unit #812...The best thing about the condo is the view on the patio of the beach. But the patio floor and table was filthy (It appears smokers flick their ashes on the patio floor). The inside of the condo decor is pretty outdated and somewhat worn looking. The shower in the master was very small. The pillows & beds were very hard and uncomfortable. The air condition unit was very loud, in addition to hearing the air all night long, the sound installation is not at it's best, you could hear the shower water running in the MB next door like its in your own unit. You could also hear every sound the people above you made. But overall it's a great location on the beach with a awesome pool. read more

We are staying at Phoenix V in Orange Beach Alabama. So between 2pm yesterday and noon today, some looser decided to bend my wiper blade in half. At noon today, when I got into the car I noticed I was in a handicap spot. Yesterday when I parked I'm pretty sure it wasn't handicapped. I'm not looking for the mgt company to pay I could care less. Just wanted them to br aware of the vandalism. So Brad....their facility mgr claims I parked in the handicap spot but the girl at the desk said between yesterday and today, those signs were placed. Find any units to stay in that aren't managed by Brett Robinson. read more

Stayed in 2601. 4 bd 4.5 bath. Generous living and patio area. Kitchen very nice. TV and bath in every bedroom. Clean and quiet. The clientele seems to be alot of families so public areas are full of wet children. Not one collared shirt was seen while visiting. Location is close to shopping and restaurants. Beach chairs available for $25/day for two attached units. Beach is nice, clean and well attended by a friendly young man. Will I be back? Probably not. Too many kids and rednecks. No offense. UPDATE: the weekend crowd arrived at the beach houses next door. Late night party with speakers outside. read more

Condo was Average at best. We've stayed in smaller complexes that were nicer and less expensive. It was very crowded and a couple of mornings we had to wait 20-30 minutes for an elevator to go to the beach. It was loud at night you could hear noises at all hours of the night. The bath cloths were TERRIBLE, they were as rough as sand paper. We will not stay here again. read more

This is by far the worst Phoenix we've stayed at! The condo that we rented was okay, not as good as the others but would stay at it again if in a different Phoenix. The only plus was the ocean wasn't far from the walkway. The pool is very old and missing tiles and STINKS of urine very bad, same as the splash pad for the kids. I do understand some pee in the water, mine on the other hand do not! They are 3, 5, & 7 and to go to the restroom which is beside the point, but they need to do something with the STRONG URINE SMELL! I mean chlorine wasn't even in the air. Now onto the splash pad, it would only run every now and then which was a disappointment to the kids. I inquired about it and they said we had to run our hand in front of a censor which I did several times then went and complained again to find out the motor that ran it was overheating. $2200 for 4 nights and to deal with this mess is inexcusable. We left the wagon & sand toys out next to the door so the sand wouldn't be brought into the condo just to be reprimanded for leaving them out all night, was told if we did it again they would be picked up and not returned. Granted we made the best of the situation but learned we wouldn't stay at this place again. read more
