Love love love being right next door to Florabama and @SolsticeOBA is SUUUUUUPER NICE! I also love this end of the beach how it's not too crowded but still close to everything you need. You don't even have to get back in the car if you don't want. You can walk across the street to Waffle House, the liquor store, a few restaurants etc, and it's the first condo unit in Alabama from the interstate so fastest condo to the beach! We've been coming for years and 1403 is BY FAR the nicest! Great people

We were called 2days before arrival to be told pool closed due to construction on balconies, indoor area open. We had to get air conditioning fixed. Condo could use a little deep cleaning. Location is fabulous. Views of ocean and bay absolutely beautiful.

    Bingo at flora bama

1403 Solstice OBA is my fave - the new renovations are so nice!!! We love that it's right next to Flora Bama!!

Loved spending time in 1403 and the view was awesome, love the balcony too!

We stayed @solsticeOBA 1403 and it was gorgeous! Completely updated unit with gorgeous views from every direction. It was super clean and had plenty of space for our family. The location is perfect too. You can walk to Florbama and Florbama Yatchclub to grab any meal and drinks, listen to music or hop in your car and minutes to anything you may want or need. We definitely will be back and will book this particular unit because I've stayed in many Phoenix's but this was the nicest one! On the beach, views for miles of the beautiful shore, you really can't find a better location

Room 508 was dirty. The furnishings were from the 1970's. Poorly decorated for the price. Garbage all over the beach and overflowing garbage dispensaries. Loud music by the pool and kids yelling until 10:30p. Walkway to beach unattended and piles of sand. Security pounding at door to check a leak and the next day pounding to spray for insects while I was in the room! Pool is okay. Pillows were horrible. Couldn't figure out how to use the TV's. However, the staff is very nice. They were open during Wuhan closings in Florida. The beach was beautiful. The views are extremely lovely. The beaches go on for miles. I enjoyed the beach very much. I think for the cost, they can maintain better and update the condos at least to the current decade.

Phoenix X unit 514 **Worth the read** Hmmm. Where do I begin? My husband booked this unit back in early February. It looked nice (by the photos posted) and sounded nice. About a month before our arrival I decided to check out reviews. I noticed the few reviews posted after we had already booked didn't sound so great. Mentioned was cle anliness of the building and unit being dirty along with batteries in fire alarm and remote controls needed to be replaced and one complaint about sand found in one of the beds. I decided to make a phone call to the management company to share my concerns and to make sure we wouldn't be walking into a disaster. The woman that I talk to said "maybe the cleaning service was having an off day"...really?? Then she came right out and offered me a full refund if I wanted. I thought that was really strange. We decided not to cancel due to everything being booked seeing everybody needed a vacation after Covid. During the 15+ hour drive down my husband gets a call from management saying that the recliner in our unit was broken. It was reclined back with the leg rest sticking out and could not be closed. (Tripping hazard) After entering the front door (which by the looks of the front door I should've known what I was walking into was a disaster) I wish the broken recliner was the only issue that we had to deal with but it wasn't. *The door to where washer/dryer, and water heater were at was caked with dust that can be easily wiped off but looked like it wasn't for a good month. (Maybe not a big deal to some but with 2 asthmatic people in my family..it's a big deal) *Towels that we're given had locked in dirt stains and were either so old or so cheap that they felt like sandpaper. *One of the beds was no longer connected to the headboard. You can tell that it had been fixed a few times due to all the nails exposed. *There was sand on top of one of the comforters. *The hallway bathroom light fixture covers didn't match and one was missing. *Both bathrooms shower liner and curtains were full of mold/mildew. *One of the fire alarms needed new batteries and chirped once every one to two minutes. *The master bedrooms vanity area walls and bathroom were started to me painted but not finished. *The fan/vent cover was missing in master bathroom. *There was hair left on the floor in the master bedroom shower. *Found and killed a roach and all management could say was they spray the building every 2 weeks. *One other concern was when reading the check out list it mentions NOT stripping down the beds. Only leaving towels in one area. I've never stayed in a condo unit where it said that. Then it made me wonder if we were even sleeping on clean sheets?!...especially if the cleaning service was having an off day. ‍ Oh, and the furniture that is shown in photos (including chaise lounge) that looks nice....4 out of 8 pieces were ripped or broke and rusty screws hanging out from them. After complaining to management, a few thing got fixed. I was happy with what was fixed however not happy that we wasted a day dealing with phone calls, texts, and sitting in the room while issues were being taken care of. Also, not happy that they delivered 4 folding chairs (for balcony) and 2 new shower curtains all with tags on and left right inside the doorway for us to set up. What a mess to the start of a much needed vacation.

The Phoenix X put the "redneck" in "The Redneck Riviera". People walking around with beers and bad clothes. Find it hard to call this family-friendly in any other context. The facilities are convenient, and "clean" if you're into that kind of thing. Decor in room 707 was soul-crushing; can't speak to the others. It had the standard bad beach motif with the addition of badly faded prints and garage sale finds. If you are accustomed to the more upscale, spend some time looking. This isn't the place for you. The only advantage to this one is its placement next to the Flora-Bama, which you will be made well aware of.

This place is good but not as good as Phoenix IX great views pools were good beach is great I give 4 out of 5 dunkeys

We chose this condo because it was next to the Flora-Bama. Its nice being able to just walk there. We spent our days and nights partying on the beach and wandering in and out of the Flora-Bama. There is also a liquor store across the street for getting booze for the room. On my last day, I left my toiletries kit in the room. Unfortunately, I didn't remember until my friend had checked everyone out (the room was under his name). The security guard was very nice and opened the room back up for me.

I forgot to take pictures, so borrowed these from the White Shores Realty rental site! Phoenix X Unit 301!

The staff were all helpful and friendly. There was someone playing live music at certain times of the day. The room was clean and had a simple but nice setup. The shower had great water temperature and pressure. We had an ocean view room which was worth the extra cost. Waking up to the beach every morning was so satisfying. Reading on the balcony while listening to the ocean sounds and watching the waves was everything that I needed. The hotel has beach towels that are easily checked out through a machine. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available first come first serve to hotel guests which is very convenient. There was a heated outdoor pool, a volleyball net and a few games inside. We ate all of our meals at the hotel. We ate at the grab and go food spot. I ordered the feta and spinach croissant, a chocolate chip scone and a cappuccino. We also ate dinner at the latitude 30. I ordered a ceasar salad and calamari. For breakfast at latitude 30, I ordered the French toast dish that comes bacon and I ordered a side of eggs. We also ate at the fine dining restaurant onsite where I ordered the seared scallops dish and the vanilla crème brûlée. All of the meals that we ate at the hotel were very tasty. The restaurant staff were all kind and the utensils were spotless. I believe food may have also been served at the bar near the pool, but I didn't try any food from there during my visit. I really had an enjoyable time at this hotel and I plan to return in the future.

Live music every day by the pool was awesome! And talented performers! The beach itself is right behind the resort and has the softest sand. Wanted was rough but we were still able to get in a slash around and jump some waves. The property was recently purchased by new owners after being owned by sand owner who opened it in 1987, which is impressive. Mervin in the restaurant was kind and friendly and been there 12 years. Glinda in the restaurant was the SWEETEST lady there. She maker the omelettes. (Get the omelettes!! Yum!) John and Greg are great pool side bar tenders. The gentleman at the lobby bar was also friendly and attentive, we didn't catch his name. The list of things we wished were different is short. Could have used speakers playing music during the times at the pool when there wasn't live music. Wait times in the restaurant were long. (Food was hit or miss...not horrible but mostly unremarkable... However the spinach dip at the casual restaurant is off the charts and the wagyu steak at Voyagers is incredible!!) We cannot say enough about the marvelous staff. We will definitely be back! We wish them luck in this transition.

(I had called earlier commenting about no coffee in the room and was told there was a coffee bar in the lobby... never any mention of a charge) Mortified, walletless, not knowing what to do, I dumped my coffee in the waste basket and went back to our room. I am thrilled that I bit the bullet and booked our stay here while we were in Gulf Shores…read more A few reviews on TripAdvisor did cause me to question even though it seems like a great place. The main complaints were that it involved too much walking (from the parking lot, to the room, etc). Unless you are significantly disabled and if so, I have no idea how you get around in the world, it's really not much walking at all. If you think this is too much walking, never live in NYC you will not survive. If the issue is walking from the parking lot, do valet and you don't have to walk from the parking lot. If the issue is walking from the main building, you have to walk MAYBE 1/3-1/2 of a football field to the building where the rooms are. It's such a nothingburger it's like a joke. If anyone thinks that is a lot of walking, they probably need to call Dr. Now. Another issue I saw in a review is that it is hard to find. It isn't. Like, at all. There is a sign and you can see it from the road. I hope that person is ok they might need to get their eyes checked. Now that I'm done talking shit, let's talk about the good things. Everyone is very nice and helpful. The views are stunning and from everywhere. From the main check in lodge, from the pool, from the beach front view rooms, from the restaurants. We had a balcony and it was just water/beach/gulf views. It was legit comparable to resorts we stayed in in Cancun and Seminyak, Bali. The water wasn't quite as "blue/turquoise" but not much The Lodge can do about that. The room is very spacious. The bathroom is lovely. The shower was wonderful. The bed was super comfortable and soft. The AC worked very well. There were a bunch of outlets on my side but less on the other side (however there were outlets on both sides). The restaurants had, as I said above, excellent views. They also has wonderful staff and very tasty food. They could have done better with the vegetarian options. The bread was probably the best part and was some of the best bread and whipped butter I have ever had. They do that shit where they text you and ask if you need anything, which is very helpful especially for us millennials. GF asked me to request an extra blanket, which I did. The response time was great, it was super fast. They told me they would send one up but never did, which was a bummer. Another piece of feedback, shortly after 8:30am, we had a knock at the door. GF was in the bathroom and I was getting dressed. They knocked again. I, half dressed, opened the door. It was housekeeping asking if we were checking out. Uh....yeah, we are.. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. What if we wanted to sleep in? What if I was out and GF was on the toilet? What if someone was getting out of the shower? It just feels like an invasion of privacy. It just seems wild that housekeeping felt like bothering us to find out if we were checking out. I would definitely stay here again if I returned but I would put the "do not disturb" sign up

The restaurant was horrible for breakfast ($18.00/adult) Yes, if you are a diamond member you get $10 voucher, but to get a bagel and cream cheese for $8.00 is not worth it. The scrambled eggs taste like rubber. Yuck. The free coffee in the lobby is only decaf and regular coffee. No bold blend. And it is very weak. I really believe they water it down because when you pour a cup, you can see the bottom of the cup. They do not clean your room for multiple nights. Including never taking out your trash. So you will need to do that when necessary. There are garbage cans next to the elevator. The hotel provides 2 k cups for the Keurig. You must go to the desk everyday if you prefer coffee in your room. I would stay here again because of the beach front. Room was clean, bathroom was nice, WiFi was sketchy (more on that in a sec), and pillows were flat as pancakes but that's literally every hotel we've ever stayed in, so no points deducted for that. The only complaint is that the maintenance guys (internet guys?) unexpectedly came in two times (once on Thursday & once on Friday) to work on our room WiFi. We had been having trouble with it, but had not filed a repair request. Apparently, they were changing the boxes out in every room so every time our WiFi dropped it was because we were unknowingly connected to surrounding rooms' WiFi since ours didn't work and as they were taken offline, we saw it as it happened. It's good that they were changing out the boxes but we didn't understand why the front desk didn't give us a heads up. After all, they had texted me twice, once with the welcome text and again with a follow up text. A simple FYI would've been appreciated. Other than that non-communication, everything else was great.
