Gotten carry out from here twice now. First time I got the spring rolls and they were awesome and crispy. Last night when I got them again they were soggy on one side and kind of burnt on the other. Not great. Both times I got the house special pho. Broth is pretty good, but meat is just ok. First time I received all the garnishes that typically come with pho. Last night they forgot a couple things. There is a lack of pho downriver so it's great we have this place, but people who have eaten a decent amount of pho won't be blown away by this place. read more

This place sells American-Vietnamese style food, not authentic Vietnamese food. The place was not well ventilated while I was in there and I was sweaty after I was finished eating. The price was expensive. We ordered: Viet Style sandwich- pork Pho House Special House special Ramen stir fried noodle The sandwich was not complete. It was not a Vietnamese style sandwich at all. There wasn't any pate, cucumber, carrots, radish or pickle on the sandwich - meat, lettuce and bread only. The menu said that cucumber was supposed to be in the sandwich but there wasn't any. When we asked the server, they said they were out of cucumber. We mused at the table that the restaurant is right next door to a Meijer and nobody in the kitchen thought to go there to buy such a simple ingredient. Very disappointed. It's a shame to name it in the menu that it is a Viet Style sandwich which it's not even close. The bread was strange, too. Pho House Special tasted pre-packaged, like powdered soup mix instead of real beef bone broth. The meat was gray in color and sparse. No tripe, no tendon, no brisket - only thin slices of beef and chopped small meatballs. I was also surprised that they served iceberg lettuce and chopped bean sprouts instead of whole with the Pho - not very appetizing. House special ramen stir fried noodle was very peppery. The bbq pork was thick and dry. There were only 2 thin pieces of beef and 2 small shrimps in it that somehow warranted a $3 up charge. I don't recommend this place. read more

From reading some of the other reviews, I wanted to try this butter fried chicken. So I ordered that and an order of spring rolls. First they are very pricey, appetizers are as much as meals at other places. The chicken was fried so hard and dark it was hard to chew. They were way too salty and greasy so I couldn't get thru with eating one wing ding. The egg rolls smelled different and were super large and stuff with some soft pork. It too was cooked very and the smell turned my stomach. $21 down the drain. Don't think I will try again. read more

Always amazing everytime I go, there hasn't been one thing on the menu that i haven't enjoyed. But the shrimp fried rice is very good, and the crab rangoon are fantastic as well. The service is very polite and food is served pretty fast. Definitely worth a stop if you haven't been there. read more

So I promised my daughter we can go wherever you want for dinner and she selected this little restaurant. On our return we had a very different experience than our first. The pho is now very flavorful and we will be returning more frequently. The owners were great to talk to and it seems that now that they are fully staffed, the quality of the pho is so much better. read more

I enjoyed my meal at Pho House. I'm glad I don't have to travel to Madison Heights for some good Pho. I understand the business is new an working out the kinks. More authentic leaning Asian than any place else Downriver by far. Very clean, modern decor. I had the House Pho, which had a fairly solid broth, the meats were ok, portion a little on the small side as compared to your average pho bowl. The fresh (summer) roll's ingredients were fresh, although slightly bland. Vietnamese coffee iced was a hit. While it's not the best pho, satisfies a craving if you are in the area and don't want to drive 30+ miles. For that and the clean, bright atmosphere, just right service (helpful, attentive, not intrusive), I'd eat here again. read more

I ordered the fresh roll, taro bubble tea, and spicy beef noodle soup through grub hub. I specifically asked for no onions or green onions due to a food allergy, and the meat came COVERED in both of them. The fresh roll was decent, but not the best. The bubble tea had barely any flavor, and I wish that the menu told you these weren't the standard tapioca, but the kind that burst in your mouth, I wouldn't have ordered if I knew that was the case. I was happy to find a Vietnamese restaurant downriver and after reading the reviews I went ahead and gave Pho House a try. The owner greeted me and was extremely welcoming. We discussed various Vietnamese dishes and settled on the Pho with chicken. The chicken may have been the freshest most tender meat in any Pho I've had anywhere. I had low expectations for this place given the area (the Downriver area, in my humble opinion is sorely lacking in decent Asian fare). I'll get the good points out of the way first: as far as the pho goes, it's actually a pretty decent one. I had the Pho House pho special, and I enjoyed it (a solid if relatively basic pho). I also ordered a bunch of appetizers, and they were all pretty solid: fresh rolls, spring rolls, fried wontons, and butter wings. Now for the bad: I feel the prices on the entrees are high for the amount of food you get, for the most part. Most of the entrees are around $10, and I ordered both a pho bowl and a vermicelli bowl, and I felt the portions of meat and noodles were about half the amount than I got at similar establishments. Honestly, if you've never had pho before or if you don't eat it on a regular basis and you live in the downriver area, this is a decent option. But if you're willing to make the drive to Redford or Madison Heights or Windsor, there are better options. read more

I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant that had recently opened downriver. I had asked around and really wasn't hearing very good things about it, but wanted to try it for myself. Going in I was pleasantly surprised with the decor and cleanliness of the place, but was a little concerned that it was Lunchtime of day and there wAs no one here eating? I had a carry out of 2 Spring Rolls and The House StirFry. I did like the flavor of the Spring Rolls but because they were sealed in a container they were very soggy and greasy, The Stir Fry I could not eat, all the protein in it was so over cooked I couldn't chew it. And the noodles with it were so dry as if there was nothing on them, no liquid or sauce. The dish itself for being a stir-fry appear to be a noodle dish, it was mostly noodles with not much more in it. I may go back again to try one of their soups, I like to give local restaurants a try or two we will see how that goes. read more

Went here last night, and really enjoyed the food. The owners are very amicable and were attentive to us. Had the beef sliced pho with a bubble tea. There aren't many noodle places or even pho places Downriver and this was a nice change of pace. The food was delicious and was in a generous helping, I definitely recommend going here. +1 for the nice atmosphere, don't let the outside facade fool you. read more

This what's the first time that I had Vietnamese food. So I'm gonna leave this review for the one time I had it. I found that this place was horrible. I like all sorts of food from Chinese to Italian to Greek and this was one of the worst dishes I have ever had in my entire life. I had three other parties with me and each of them said the same thing. The meals that we had had no taste in the greens that we had on the side looked like they were picked from The parking lot outback. Again some of the other guys that I was with has had Vietnamese food before and they said this was bad. So if you're in the market for some food around this area there's plenty other restaurants where you can go and get a normal meal rather than this. The wait staff was nice I give them that but it took a pretty long time to get our food. Once one of our guys got his food it was semi cold but he was afraid to send it back so he sucked it up and ate it. read more

Had the house special pho and wow did It not disappoint. Great flavor and hearty portion size. The pho was well spiced but balanced with good amounts of noodles, veggies, and meats within it. I added enough Siracusa and hoisin and created the perfect flavor. I recommend this to everyone in this area, especially if you've never had it this style cuisine before. I really wanted to like this restaurant but unfortunately the meals we ordered and fresh rolls were very bland, bordering on tasteless. Ordered the crispy rice noodle dish, and the Pho House special pho which contained 3 different types of beef. One was "beefball" which was horrendous. Served along side of pho was what looked and tasted like weeds and some very tough Basil. The pho basically consisted of soggy rice noodles, bland broth, very little beef and green onions. read more

While traveling through Detroit on our way to Pittsburgh, we pulled off the highway for a quick bite. My Vietnamese wife spotted this delightful restaurant, so we pulled in. Having her own restaurant North of Saigon, she is always a tough customer. She was pleasantly surprised with a flavorful broth. So much so, she ordered takeout. This restaurant is made for Westerners, but will satisfy a VN Native. We may just stop here on the return trip. read more

yes I had lunch there today I found it to be the best pho soup I have had in this region it is far better than a number of other well-known pho restaurants their broth is has a deep rich color you can tell they cook bones marrow herb spices overnight to get that rich of a broth have not tasted it anywhere else and I am American and I can tell the difference read more

My family and I have throughly enjoyed the Pho House. Upon our latest visit, my mother, my aunt, and I had dinner. My mother and I were excited for my aunt to try the restaurant for the first time. After ordering three bowls of the Wanton Soup, we immediately felt happy as the flavor of the soup dazzled our taste buds. My mother also ordered the Honeydew Bubble Tea Slushy, which she swears "is the best she's ever had". My aunt was very pleased, her only complaint being, she was "too full to finish all of her meal in one sitting". The owners of the restaurant are pleasant and accommodating. With fair prices, delicious food, and a friendly wait staff we recommend this restaurant to everyone! read more

We're so excited to have a vietnamese pho restaurant near our area but it wasn't as good as i expected it to be. We order beef spicy soup and it was so bland. I have to add hoisin sauce and pepper to get some flavor, not enough meat and even noodles! Ordered the sandwich and was so disappointed of how little the meat is in it like seriously it was not enough meat. I wish i could've taken some pics. Porkchop was ok it wasn't flavorful at all and its was just to expensive for 1 pc of meat and porkloaf which was to salty..but in all fairness the waitress and cook was nice, clean inside and it looks cozy.
