I'm not usually a fan of people's "modern take" on traditional foods, but this place is exceptional. If you love Vietnamese food, this place will definitely satisfy your cravings. Right when you enter the restaurant, the atmosphere is very "hipstery" and modern. The staff is very nice and laid back. This is a vegetarian friendly restaurant, but their meat options are good as well. I tried their tofu bah mi and it was delicious. The tofu was just right and the vegetables were fresh. There is a salad bar where you can add more veggies to your meal if you choose. I also tried their veggie egg rolls and shrimp spring rolls and I have to say it is the best in town (so far). If I could have given no stars, I absolutely would have. I'm warning anyone who eats here to have EXTREME caution. I ordered the vegetable egg rolls tonight and upon receiving them, I bit into one of the three to find a huge piece of PLASTIC! Yes, PLASTIC! As I spoke to the manger who asked me what I wanted, he quickly said a refund and he would make new ones... well.... Still waiting, wonder if they ran out of PLASTIC to place inside of them! Again, please take extreme caution when eating here. There's no excuse for PLASTIC to be in the food. UPDATE! 9.50 combo ban mi and beef pho.... Its beyond tiny. I realize ban mi are smaller but it doesnt even match the length of the bowl.... which is a 16 oz bowl. The ban mi is yummy dont get me wrong but I would pay 8 bucks 8.50 not almost 10. The beef concerned me this time..... my meat is always delivered seperate and raw..... this is cooked, jerky, crumbly strips of beef.... not sure what happened here. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place at all! The steak didn't look fresh like it had been sitting out for hours didn't smell good either. We also had spring rolls and the shrimp also didn't look like it was fresh the way they rolled it just said it all like they didn't even care to try. read more

I used to go to their original location off Anderson ln and it was so good. They had a veggie bar with tons of extra onions , jalapeños, and other extras for your pho. After visiting the round rock location it appears they no longer offer this. I got the pho and Bahn mi today and it wasn't bad, but also not great. Their pho broth taste like regular chicken noodle soup broth with no aromatics. It wasn't very hot either. The bahn mi wasn't bad, but the cucumber and carrots weren't pickled and had zero flavor. I think overall everything would be good if it all had more flavor. The staff was friendly and working hard to keep the tables clean, and have the food come out in a timely manner. Paid for extra meat and didn't believe I got what I paid for, but I was back at the hotel and didn't want to go back out. The broth was OK, but needed more flavor. They charge a surcharge for to-go container which I didn't care, I was to surprised to find two dinner sized plastic containers for 2 spring rolls and 2 egg rolls, definitely can use bags for these instead of containers, if concerned about the planet. This is not pho. The broth was so watery & bland. The meat was WAY overcooked & extremely Chewy. They didn't even have tripe on the menu... TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My mother had gastric bypass surgery and orders kids meal whenever she goes out to eat (and even then she has a hard time finishing them). When the server delivered our food, he very rudely informed her that she was not allowed to order a kid's meal and that if she ordered it again, they would refuse her service. All in a very rude, condescending tone. She was almost in tears and has never had an issue ordering a kid's meal at any other restaurant. Why wouldn't you just inform me of this policy at the time I ordered the food? Why get all mad about it later on?? Also, the tables are NEVER cleaned off, and it is difficult to find seating due to the high amount of dirty tables. Not to mention that you're also then forced to stare at stranger's old food your entire meal.. I highly recommend skipping this establishment and visiting instead a pho restaurant that actually has authentic pho in a clean and welcoming environment. Will never be coming back! Which is super disappointing because I was just about to have a huge family gathering in Austin and this restaurant was on our list. Austin Texas came through with a surprise for me. What a wonderful surprise in a chain restaurant. I almost didn't eat here. When I walked in it was set up like a Moe's restaurant. It didn't pass as a vietnamese place to me. I ordered my food at the counter, received my drink cup and found a seat. Got my soda from the machine and sat down . As soon as I sat down the spring rolls arrived. To my surprise they were definitely hand made. They were the size of a taco bell burrito. What an incredible amount and taste. My pho followed. OMG! To my pleasant surprise there was so much meat and noodles in my bowl. 1 size about a medium like I'm use to. Eye round,brisket,tripe and tendon in every bite. I ordered ox tail because I didn't think I would get enough meat. Boy was I wrong.The broth was to die for. Just the right amount . I actually finished the broth before the noodles and meat. I took a chance and explained to the young man at the register that we couldn't eat rice, noodles or bread. He thought for a moment and asked if we liked zucchini. The only reason I docked a star was because they didn't explain anything in my very first to-go order. I ordered the Pho and a Tofu plate. Everything came in pieces, nothing was together. I had no idea what went with what. I had a tub of veggie broth, two packets of vegetables, two giant tubs of other veggies with noodles at the bottom, a box of tofu and one ounce of dressing. I ended up going back to ask: "What??" The man behind the register explained it to me as if I was stupid and thus the star was lost. My wife had a kid's wonton soup and it was very tasty. I really enjoyed a #10 washtub of filet pho, the meat was very tender and the broth had great taste....beef brothy goodness! I enjoyed a Vietnamese iced coffee and my wifey had the iced tea and shared one eggroll with me...everything was very good. PhoNatic presents an excellent concept in Vietnamese cuisine. Fresh high quality ingredients in a clean and modern environment. The Pho is some of the best I have had outside of Saigon or Hanoi. I believe the Filet Mignon Pho is the way to go if you want beef, however the brisket and oxtail are also great. All bowls are very large portions with plenty of meat and noodle. The spring rolls are fresh, although I would prefer them a little more tightly wound so they don't fall apart when I chomp on them! The Vietnamese iced coffee is also a great pick me up! read more
