Got my Canadian passport photo taken here today. It was fast and quick. I was very happy with how the photos turned out. Canadian passports have all these special requirements, and it's also a different size than the US passport photos. The photographer was very professional and she was super friendly and also very familiar with the Canadian passport requirements and sizes.. I was able to pick up my pictures right away. Revisited for Canada passport photo again based on past great experience. But no longer the case with new owner. Arrived Saturday morning to a locked door. The new owner opens it and tells me she'll be a few minutes. She is on speaker phone speaking with her cellular phone company trying to change to a different plan that offers more data. This goes on for 15 min while they discuss auto pay plans to get $10 discount. She has to enter her debit info into site provided by text link. I finally stood up and asked if she's going to take care of customers (one other customer arrived and was also told to wait) instead of doing personal stuff on the phone. She says she's almost done. I said customers should be taken care of over her personal business. She then says "well do you have an appointment?" That was enough to get me out of there and never to come back. What owner of a business would take care of revising her personal cell phone plan and make customers wait. 5-10 min I could have accepted but 15 min and still on the phone--all of this on speaker for customers to listen in on. I have a lot of good things to say about this place ! First of all, I wanted to say that I have spent the afternoon looking for a place to take a French passeport picture (blue or light gray background) and last minute I found Photo Boutique. I called her maybe 30 mins before coming and told me she was free and that I could come. I came at maybe 5:55pm and she still took me even if the shop were closing at 6pm. The place was very clean and easy to find, there's a lot of parking space. Her studio was very professional and there is a big mirror for last minute touch ups if needed. She took the picture did her things and got the picture ready in 10 minutes maybe. Very high quality compared to the Walgreens or CVS for sure. And regarding Covid and all, she have hand sanitizer, the place is very clean and definetly enough space between us two. So overall, I recommend this place!! read more

When I called they said this much which I don't remember now but after they took my pic they asked for more money a higher price and when I asked why they said only if you write a 5 star review you get that. After much Google searching, I came here in July 2019 to get a passport photo. There were two things I was seeking, firstly professional lighting for the photo and secondly the option for digital copies. Photo Boutique offers both. Svetlana the owner is not only a professional photographer but she is polite and patient and willing to work with you to get a photo that you love, even for your passport photo to which most places don't care a hoot about how you look and will only snap one or two photos and say, which one do you want and they don't even have a light source to keep shawdows off your face. If you dont care what you look like in your passport photo by all means go anywhere but if you actually want to look good, which I actually believe is important cause you don't want to look like a criminal with a mug shot, then come to a place like this with professional cameras and softbox lights. Yes, you pay slightly more here but a passport photo is for 10 years. Personally, I could not go on a trip and feel happy if I opened my passort and saw an ugly photo of myself, but with a good photo I am happy and excited to travel. At the Photo Boutique they won't rush you to perform like a circus animal they offer a personalized service. Moreover they let you take your time both during the shoot and while choosing the best photo. For me this is as good as it gets! read more

Bribed reviews cannot be trusted. Initially I was really excited when I read Photo Boutique's reviews, especially the reviews that mentioned how great they were with Canadian passport photo requirements. My Canadian cousin warned me about how rigid the requirements are; she even had her renewal rejected because of the photos she had done and they were taken in Canada! I found the specials on Photo Boutique's website so I went in on a Sunday to take advantage of their 20% off. Upon mentioning this, I was told by the young clerk that my review would need to be posted before I paid, that I must show it to her and it had to include three things that she listed off. I was put off by this but continued with the photo process. I will say that I was impressed that she was very knowledgeable about what angle my face, chin and eyes needed to be. While I was waiting for the photos to be printed, I confirmed my understanding of Yelp's Business Owner Guidelines that state "You should also never offer compensation (discounts and freebies count too) in exchange for reviews". When I brought this up to the clerk she nor the older lady sitting behind a different counter, were in the least bit phased that I called them out that they were in violation of the guidelines. Both went on about their duties as I waited for my photos. I would like to be clear that I am not giving them a one star review solely because of their bribing practices. Upon measuring the size of my face in the prints, which Canadian requirements are very clear about, the measurement was several millimeters more than the maximum allowed. Had I not measured for myself, my passport application would have been rejected. When I brought this to the clerk's attention she seemed personally insulted as if I was making up the rules. At this time the older lady jumped off her seat and promptly opened her reference manual with the Canadian photo requirements. She told the young clerk to reprint them but in a manner that was again making it seem like I was the one at fault. So clearly the reviews that mentioned how great the Photo Boutique was at taking Canadian passport photos were not to be believed. As I said, bribed reviews cannot be trusted. read more

They totally saved us last minute with an impromptu picture of our children on a very busy Sunday with same day appointment the day before our daughter was to get the dreaded "braces". Not only were they very accommodating on the phone, when we got there we had very personal attention despite the influx of customers. Svetlana D. made my visit for my Australian passport photo requirement very easy. The moment I got in her wonderful studio, she immediately asked me if I have a coat with me. Then I realized that I was wearing a white shirt and I need to wear something that would contrast the white background. She lend me a dark coat to put on and it fits perfectly. Fantastic place to take pictures. I came here twice with my wife to take passport pictures and VISA pictures for several different countries. They knew all the specifics for every VISA and were super quick and very friendly. The prices are very reasonable as well. The Plaza also has a great coffee shop and places to get food. So if you have to wait a few minutes for your pictures to get cut, you can just grab a coffee or get some food. I'll definitely go here for all my future passport/Visa pictures. read more

I had gone to CVS, Wallgreens ECT to get passport photos done in the past. BIG mistake! As a former photographer myself I know that the Floresent lights found at all drugstores are the PITS when it comes to lighting people! You and your hair will look Greenish. Doesnt matter what they do to fix that, it will alwasy look a little green and that will show up big time if you're blond. Looks like you have greenish hair. Plus they get all up in your face and you end up just looking BAD.. Well Lucky for me I found this amazing photographer that does Passport photos in her studio convinently not far from John Wayne Airport. I now have one of the best passport photos ever done of me and I'm so happy! Svetlana was very patient and fun and she doesn't just take a photo and say "OK we are done" She gets it right and no green tint. My very first passport photo was shot on Film with great lighting and that was the last good one I had, but this is the closest thing to that. She also uses a good camera and not the outdated cheapo ones they use eslwhere. She's quick, efficient and the cost is just a little more, but its worth it! read more

Highly recommended for International passport photos - specifically Australian and Dutch. We noticed very last minute the kids passports were close to expiring so we had 2 sets of photos taken for each of our kids for (both different countries and different specs, not USA) and they made sure they were all 100% sized correctly. This has previously been very difficult for us and we drove from San Diego to get them done. Lots of places say they can do international sizes but then the photos are rejected. They were NOT fast, but thats because they were perfectionists. We had one shot to get the passports lodged in time the following day and were more than happy to wait. Theres lots of nice food places with outdoor games to pass the time in the complex with kids (and a dog) too. Also, this was on a SUNDAY AFTERNOON! Priceless. They also have a framed letter from the Australian Consulate saying they'd added Photo Boutique to their recommended passport photo providers because the consistency and quality had been noticed. read more
