Christopher Douglas photographed my family of 8 on the beautiful island of Maui. We have three little ones which can be challenging when trying to do family portraits but Christopher was totally on top of it! He was knowledgeable, patient, and creative. Photo Hawaii!!! What can I say? Jp and I married on June 22, 2016 at the Royal Lahaina in Maui My wedding day could not have been captured any more beautifully than how Chris captured our moments. Before even meeting Chris in person, since I am from California, I felt like I already knew him. The months leading up to our wedding day, Chris made sure that everything was organized. He knew what kind of photos we wanted and which people would be involved. He assured me that everything will run as smoothly as he could possibly make it. Sure enough, that's what was delivered. We chose a sunset wedding so we knew we would be racing the sun. Chris showed up at my hotel room for pre-wedding photos, I wasn't too stressed about the wedding but still my nerves had the best of me. Once the picture taking began, I instantly felt at ease with Chris. It was easy to take direction from him, not once did I feel rushed. He took amazing photos of our wedding ceremony and reception. After the wedding we were able to go to Chris' studio to review the picture he had taken. Usually the process of putting the pictures together normally takes 3-4 days, I unfortunately did not have a couple days since I was leaving for another island. Chris rearranged his schedule and was able to accommodate us 2 days after our wedding and present us 300 of our best pictures. All of his picture were very captivating. The pictures were full of color and they came out very clear. The black and white pictures were never too dark, the lighting was always on point. My favorite pictures that Chris captured were not necessarily the straight forward pictures but the candid pictures. I couldn't believe how many amazing candid "in the moment" picture he captured. Every emotion of my wedding was captured by Chris. Living in the moment of the photographs always bring me back to my wedding day. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. We got married in November 2010 at the Four Seasons in Wailea. Peter was wonderful!! He was on time, fun, creative, and made the whole experience super easy and fun. Peter is a great guy and gets the job done. His photos are amazing!! He really goes the extra mile to make the pictures look perfect!! A day or two later we meet at his house and he already had a DVD of the photos ready. It was so exciting to see the photos so quick and be able to watch and show the photos on our honeymoon. Pete was simply wonderful. He only had an hour to photograph and he got some really beautiful photos in that short time. He was fun, efficient, and was open to suggestions. We actually switched photographers about a month prior to our wedding because I fell in love with Chris' style and we are so happy we did! We can not stop looking through our pictures to relive our special day. From the very beginning, Chris was quick to reply to emails and you could tell he was very genuine, card about his clients, and really took interest in the wedding. The day of the wedding, he was prompt and made sure to capture a little of everything. He was like a magician the way he moved around so quickly from one spot to the next to capture the best moments all while remaining "invisible" throughout the entire ceremony. He captures great natural moments during the ceremony. After, he provides great instructions on how he wants you to pose for group and couples photos. I emailed him my wish list of photos I would like and he sure did his absolute best to capture all of those moments! The best part?! We left Maui with our wedding photos in hand because he had quick turn around time! He invited us to his lovely home studio and had our wedding slideshow ready to play with tissues on hand. BRIDES!!!!!! READ AND HEED!!!! Where do I begin? I booked Peter as our photographer for our wedding approximately 8 months in advance. After a discussion on the phone, he convinced me to also hire Tracy Flannigan from A Dream Wedding, Maui. I agreed, and soon after signed a contract with both Peter and Tracy, and also paid my deposit. During the next few months, I would go on to have numerous emails and phone conversations with Tracy, as we planned my special day. Two weeks before the wedding, I placed a call to Peter, just to follow up and go over a "shot list". Within minutes, the conversation turned bizarre. Peter informed me that I should have received a call from Tracy the day before to inform me that he would not be my photographer.um WHAT???!! Yes, in fact , he would be taking a vacation with his girlfriend that happened to fall right in the middle of my wedding. WTF!? However, I should not worry, as Tracy had already selected another photographer for me. So, he was sorry, but he trusted that Tracy would take care of the situation. Mind you, we had a signed CONTRACT! I hung up on him, and immediately began searching for another photographer online, with 2 weeks til the wedding. The next day, I called him again, and after a heated discussion finally got a "reason" why this had happened. Peter said " Do you really want me to tell you what happened?', I said YES, please! His response, " I forgot ok?? You booked it so far in advance, I forgot. What else do you want me to say?" I told him what I thought of him and hung up. I promptly called Mike Sidney Photography, told them the story, and booked them on the spot. The receptionist, Nicole was so kind and understanding. As for Mike Sidney himself? This man is a CLASS ACT! I cannot say enough good things about him. Total professional, caring, and an ARTIST! Our pictures look like they came out of a fairytale book. He truly saved the day, and on 2 weeks notice! Shame on you Peter! This is no way to create good karma for yourself. Brides, you have enough to be stressed about without wondering if your photographer will show up, steer clear!!!! read more

Chris from PhotoHawaii photographed our wedding on April 28th, 2017. We had our ceremony at Gannon's and had Chris for just two hours. In that time he managed to shoot the bride and groom prior to the wedding, our site, set-up, cake, all of our details, the entire ceremony, group shots after, and took us down to the beach immediately following it all to get some amazing sunset photos. It's less than 5 days later, we are actually still in Maui, and today we went and saw our wedding pictures at his home studio! All 250 of them--edited! It was amazing to have such a quick turnaround for the pictures. Chris photographed our day in a way that can be described in one word. Perfect. We love all our pictures, and loved our time with him.
