Khatereh, the owner, is an incredible photographer and even more amazing person- she was so kind, so easy to work with, and so helpful both during the planning process and day of. Our wedding ended up being during the first hurricane to ever hit Los Angeles and we had to move it within 24 hours, which was so stressful. Best passport photo I've ever gotten. Plus I'm Canadian and he knows all the requirements. I had a little blemish and he removed it in photoshop. It was also super fast. Took less than 15 minutes to take the photo, for him to print it, and for me to pay. Highly recommend this place if you want to meet your passport requirements while getting a nice photo of yourself. I looked all over trying to find a place to take my 4 month old daughter's passport photo. Most places would not take it because she could not yet sit up on her own and suggested I try to take it myself. After many failed attempts at taking her photo myself, I was desperate to find someone to take her photo and found this place while walking down Westwood Blvd one day. I got to the studio and they setup the photo area so that she was laying down on a white background. They quickly got her photo done and they even used some baby toys to get her to look at the camera. Within a few minutes, we had two passport photos for her for $25 that looked great. The post office workers taking her passport application loved her photo too :) Both men working at the studio were very friendly too! Overall (5/5): To all the Canadians out there who need a quality passport photo, COME HERE! I was getting my Canadian passport renewed and expedited, so I couldn't afford have my photo rejected. This was my first time renewing my passport and since the Canadian passport people are notoriously strict (for some reason, we're not allowed to smile??), I was a little worried. Experience (5/5): After reading rave reviews, I called the studio for a price quote ($15 for two photos), and I was able to come in bright and early the next morning. When I sat down in front of the camera, I guess I was visibly uncomfortable, so the photographer told me to "smile with my eyes", which was surprisingly helpful. Once the photos were ready, she stamped and signed them (as per the instructions on the Canadian passport website) without being asked to. I was in and out of there within 15 minutes. She clearly knows exactly what she's doing! Quality (5/5): Perfect. When I brought the photos to the Consulate, they asked for the name of the studio and said they'd add it to their list of approved photographers. That's how good she was! Needless to say, everything worked out and I got my temporary passport in 2 days :) read more

Canadian passport photo is a top challenge. All Canadians know that. In fact 50% of the passport application gets rejected because of the picture according to statistics. I travel A LOT, and (unfortunately) need to my passport renewed every year so I experience the pain more than most people. Nevertheless,I think I have just found the super star! 1. Opens Sunday (call ahead) 2. 15 dollars (super reasonable!) 3. Flattering lighting compare to every place I have tried. The photographer said they are recommended by the Canadian embassy! Had I known this place was $$$, I would not have come here to get my passport photos taken. CVS is where I went last time for my passport photos and a recent visit to the one on Wellworth (right across the street from this place) told me that CVS location was no longer taking passport photos. Their equipment is being changed and the lady working there told me they were planning on going digital? Anyways, so I came here after seeing the large signs for passport photo and my roommate had mentioned that it was cheaper than CVS. Perfect, right? No. My 4 passport photos turned was a flat $20, which to me was overpriced. $5 for one 2x2in photo? Not to sound cheap, but wow, that is SUPER STEEP. The sole employee working was really kind. I walked in and there was nobody so the wait time was really short other than waiting for the film to process, but even then it wasn't too long. He also made conversation while I waited so it wasn't awkward or uncomfortable waiting. Nice place, but the price just throws me off. The employee did mention that he thought CVS's photo quality was bad, which I could then understand why this place is more expensive, but if I'm going to send them off for a passport/visa, what is the point of super great photo quality? Walking back home, I saw another Persian shop with a passport photo sign (further down Westwood), maybe that's the place my roommate said was cheaper than CVS... read more

I was very impressed with the courtesy and professionalism at Photo Negah. I went there to get U.K. passport photos, which are of a different size to US passport photos. The owner took less than 10 minutes to produce perfectly sized U.K. Passport photos, and the cost was very reasonable. Do not use this company! EPIC FAIL I am extremely disappointed with the disservice provided by Photo Negah. It has been over two years and still no wedding albums!!! On our second anniversary, Khatereh dropped an album off at our house, without even proofing it herself first. Most of the pages had photos that were extremely fuzzy (something that wasn't on the digital files, so she would have caught this had she looked at the album before dropping it off at our house). Very frustrating. Weeks and sometimes months will go by and the only contact we have with Khatereh is when we email or call her to bug her again about when we will see our albums. Here's a timeline of this series of excuses: Mid-June - called Khatereh to ask her when the albums would be ready since we had not heard anything from her since finalizing one requested change in the cover photo that we had sent in 6 weeks earlier. She said she would bring the albums (yes, she said albums plural so we expected our album and two parent albums) July 1, 2014 (2 years after the wedding): Khatereh dropped 1 main album off at our house while we're out at dinner. She had not bothered to look at it before turning it in to us. We come back from our anniversary dinner to see 1 album, and then open it up and were crushed to see the terrible quality. I texted her immediately to convey how frustrated we were. July 2 - finally spoke to Khatereh. Found out she had not even bothered to look at the album before bringing it to us. July 5 - Khatereh comes back to get the album. I show her where the pictures are so fuzzy. I tell her that she has 2 weeks to produce all of the albums to a professional standard of quality or we want all of our money back. July 11 - We asked Khatereh for an update. SHe said she switched the pictures and sent this to the lab. NO UPDATES FROM KHATEREH AGAIN UNTIL I CALLED HER ON JULY 31, WELL PAST THE QUITE REASONABLE 2 WEEK DEADLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PRESUMABLY, EVEN A 2 WEEK TURNAROUND FROM JULY 11 WOULD MEAN THAT THE ALBUMS SHOULD HAVE BEEN READY JULY 25. July 31 - We left her a voicemail. August 1, 2014 - I texted Khatereh to ask what was going on and to ask when she planned to get in touch with us. Khatereh's responses come across as excuses (super busy, the lab is backed up, the lab is delivering the albums to her on August 6, etc.). She called the lab ten times to make sure the albums would be ready, blah, blah blah. I feel like Khatereh has made our albums her lowest priority. Who takes 2 YEARS to make a photo album? NO RESPONSES FROM KHATEREH AFTER AUG 1! I literally cannot believe that my lovely wife and I cannot look at a wedding album yet because our photographers just can't seem to get their act together and produce a professional printed album! We hired Photo Negah because a family friend worked there, and we supposedly got a deal....and yet we still have not seen printed albums! Our engagement photo shoot had problems...at a local beach for part of the shoot and we got kicked off the beach. A permit was required and we asked Khatereh if she was going to get one, and she told us she didn't need it. The police kicked us off the beach before we had gotten a decent number of photos taken and had to go to another location. Prior to the wedding, and even a few times after, we had to remind Khatereh of the terms of our contract, specifically, what prints/canvas pictures we get from them, and that we ordered and paid for more pages in the album and duplicate parent-sized albums for both sets of our parents. During the wedding itself, the photographers did not even get a photo of each set of the wedding party....for one groomsman/bridesmaid, they had to take a still image from the video recording. Who misses pictures of the wedding party as they walk down the aisle??? In terms of the party, nobody had told us that we should have specified to the photographers to take pictures at every table. Also, in most of the images and video segments, the photographers' staff are noticeable in the frame. As the vendor that we hired to do all photography and videography for our wedding and engagement photos, it is Khatereh's job to always be in communication with us. If there is a delay in getting the video ready, let us know up front. If you think we need to pick a different photo for the album cover, let us know rather than wait for us to ask you why we haven't seen the albums yet. 2 years and no albums yet. Our parents want their albums too. It's so ridiculous. I honestly feel that I can make an album using the digital pictures we have far more quickly than the professional can, and I could probably figure out how to make sure it prints out beautifully. We want our money back for sure. Please do yourself a favor, and find a more responsible photography company to serve your need read more

Great place for passport photos! The pictures are very high quality, the lighting they use is very flattering, and they let you take several photos from which you can choose the one you like best. Yes, it's a bit pricier than the drugstore photos ($15 for 2 photos) but the quality is worth it. They also provide a digital copy for $10, which is better than most places. I recently had my wedding in June 2014 and Negah photography was highly recommended to us. I was the most happiest bride there could possibly be. My entire wedding was beautifully captured by such a great photographer, and not to mention how amazing my engagement photos turned out. Khatereh the photographer has a great way of capturing each moment and making it look special on film. She made us feel comfortable while taking pictures and video. I felt as if she was just another family member just taking pictures of us. She has passion for her work and is very easy going. I've had a horrible passport photo for ten years, so I really wanted a better one. I tried a studio that had a great Yelp rating but was very disappointed in the photo I got. I headed to Photo Negah this morning and just popped in. What a great experience! Amazing passport photos - I can't recommend Kat highly enough!! After having a disastrous photo taken at a CVS for my Brazilian visa a year ago, I vowed my upcoming passport renewal photos - that I'd be stuck with for ten years - wouldn't be left in the hands of an amateur. I yelped around and found Photo Negah, walked in on a Monday, and walked out fifteen minutes later with perfect photos for both my US passport renewal (one set of requirements) and the Russian visa I'll be applying for soon (a different set of requirements). She took several photos and let me pick the best one, and she was well versed in the differences needed for different passports - I was very happy to be able to rock a "natural smile" for my US passport photos. She did a little bit of wizardry on her computer to make them look perfect and printed them on site. I'm surprised that people think $15 for a set of two passport photos is expensive - yes, it may be $8 at a drugstore, but they're also hella ugly. You literally have to show this photo everywhere you travel for a decade. The extra $$ (which is so negligible) is 10000% worth it! read more
