I'm still recoiling in horror as I write this. We've been using Phresh for alkaline water delivery for about 3 months and have enjoyed the convenience. But while my husband and I were changing out an empty 5-gallon bottle, we noticed a white, thumb-sized fleck floating at the bottom. At first I assumed it was just a piece of plastic from the cap, so we emptied the bottle to check. To my absolute horror, it was a slug. We had been drinking water from that bottle for the past week with a SLUG floating in it. I gagged immediately. It was absolutely disgusting and alarming. Another reviewer mentioned finding a paintbrush and pencil at the bottom of their bottle, and I wish I found that than this. How sanitary is their bottling and quality control process if a slug can end up inside a sealed bottle unnoticed? I'm still sick over it. I wish I had taken a picture, but I was so disgusted that I immediately dumped it down the sink. We are proud supporters of small businesses. This company delivers quality water but is rigid when it comes to delivery schedules and "making it right" when things go wrong. That's my chief complaint. I have a strict HOA that does not allow leaky bottles to be on the porch for 2-4 weeks. Instead of sending someone to replace the bottle immediately, their rigid schedule required we wait two weeks for pickup/replacement only to have the delivery person fail to pick up the leaky bottle. In fact, the video below shows him simply moving the bottle over as of he just delivered it. Deceptive and certainly worth a couple of free bottles. Two weeks turned into 4 weeks for the leaky bottle. We ran out of water and had to move the bottle to the back porch and bring it to the front again when they were able to service us again two weeks later. We pay a $5.99 a month delivery fee but that does not entitle us to anything other than their dictated delivery schedule. The company's response was to credit me for the leaky bottle and recycling fee and nothing else. ANY other gesture would've saved our business but the owners felt their remedy was fair. I couldn't disagree more. In fact, the very next delivery, 8 bottles were left on the porch when only 4 empties were left for pickup. It is their practice to give a 1-to-1 replacement. You leave out 4 empty bottles and they leave you 4 full bottles. When I alerted them to this error, they offered to retrieve the extra bottles the next day. Hmmm ... so, they CAN provide delivery service outside of their dictated schedule but choose not to when asked. Well, I refused. Why? Because I had lugged all 8 bottles into the garage and would have to lug 5 back. Instead, I suggested they just gift me this order. That would've been 8 bottles, a $5.99 service fee, and a $7.99 cooler fee. I thought they'd see the immediate logic in gifting us ONE order. Honestly, two free bottles would've been all I needed but they insisted that "your account has already been credited fairly." I disagree and canceled my service. Even my cancelation is an ordeal. I asked them to retrieve the remaining bottles and their cooler on 9/11. They will only pick them up on the 18th because that's the day sometime will be on my area. Another inconvenience to me because I'm out of town beginning the 12th - 19th. So, I'll have to ask someone to come to my house and retrieve the items from my garage so I don't violate the HOA agreement. If you're seeking a water company who is responsive to errors, provides fair solutions, and is accommodating to their customers schedules and needs, this may not be the right water company for you. Their inevitable response to this review is likely to support my assertions. Sharing my experience on these platforms is my right as a consumer and my attempt to help others make an informed decision. They Accidentally cancelled my account. And sent someone to pickup the bottles and the rental cooler? When I wasn't canceling ? Sometimes I was asleep and woke up to having to rush the bottles outside.. lord.. stressed me out. My HOA would fine me if I left 12 water bottles hogging up the walkway to my door.. I finally went with another company and installed a reverse osmosis system and kicked this insane drama to the curb Life doesn't need to be complicated and nobody needs the stress of dealing with erratic business practices The person that delivered was friendly and professional.. unfortunately the people in the office needed to get things right.. Just wanted to comment on this company and the delivery guys, who are ALL the most helpful and personable people. The fellow who delivered today had already offloaded 6 of the 7 bottles when he saw me open the garage door to haul them in. He immediately OFFERED and then put them inside for me. Every one of these guys that I've interacted with has been like that. In addition, the company actually COMMUNICATES on a regular basis. And they respond if you have questions or want to modify your delivery. A while ago, I commented to a delivery guy that this seems like a good company to work for. He said it really is. They are obviously a well-run company, from their hiring to their treatment of employees to their customer service. Have been drinking Phresh Waters purified water (monthly delivery) for close to 5 years (4-yrs, 10-mos and 21-days more exactly!). Tried hard to think of some negative experiences, to verify the spatter of negative comments published here and other forums but could only think of one minor incident that, over 5 years, really is insignificant and forgotten until now. Water delivery was missed on one occasion. Empty bottles were not left outside for pickup and replacement so, therefore, no water delivery. Water was delivered the next day...WOW! Evidently I overlooked, missed or didn't receive (email) the change in policy regarding that (possibly to eliminate billing complaints from confused consumers who may not employ adequate record-keeping processes or organizational skills?). Otherwise, excellent communications (the most important initial policy, from a corporate management background), excellent water, simply excellent overall quality and service, but equally important...LOCALLY OWNED and operated, like a large corporation...super-efficient. Bottom line, if you read the positive comments on these feedback forums ("review" sites), suggestion would be to ignore the negative feedback. Seems the positive feedback for Phresh may be more accurate. Again, no issues here for 5-years and outstanding overall quality and service. I give the quality of the water and the kindness of the ladies who spoke with me 5 stars, however.... First delivery, instructions not followed as agreed upon. OK, stuff happens and as we have learned from the last two years its that many times they are not read and or conveyed properly, and if your company has an area for those instructions to be left, please do your due diligence to convey them and follow them, it is very much appreciated and can save and even make you more money in the long run and providing what has now become a thing from a bygone era called good customer service, because we have all been made afraid and apathetic to speak out so many service providers just don't care when no matter what people are going to keep coming back for more... but I digress. When their driver, whom I truly hope is not out among the general public at this point and is getting the help he needs, and this was not the first time that a complaint like this has been lodged against this man, came back to our home with a major attitude out of the gate and when I attempted to lighten the mood with humor was told "Im not here to play games just open your gate!", which is not locked and and is able to be opened by any delivery personnel which is why we ask that all our deliveries be placed on the back porch/patio area. That being said, it is an older gate and takes a modicum of patience to open, but NOT impossible, I went to help this man so that I could get him away from me as quickly as possible because at this point I felt very threatened and afraid due to his increasingly menacing behavior which put me on edge as well, and almost to the point of "do I need to make an emergency call?!" I am even shaking just reliving the experience to post this review... I asked this man for his name 3 times and was met with angry, sullen silence and then he said "f$&ck this you can do it yourself!", dropped the water cooler system and stormed away leaving it on the walkway along with 2 of the 3 5gallon bottles blocking my gate and the other 5 gallon bottle on my front porch in front of my door. Then, when I went to take a picture of the truck, the driver who was on his phone, looked over at me, and threw the truck into drive and sped away down the street! Only a guilty person speeds away in a large truck down a residential street. Needless to say both my husband and I called to report this to the company and while the supervisor on duty at the time was patient with me as Im crying and just short of hysterical, some of the things said were patently patronizing and made me feel that she was "smiling and nodding" as she listened. Giving the benefit of doubt and having previously been in customer service for over a decade, I understand how stressful and "tricky" it can be when navigating through a call with a very dissatisfied customer, I apologize if that was not the case here. Absolutely taken aback after getting off the phone with Marlene and her manager who was extremely rude and didn't even introduce himself when I was transferred to him. I started with this company about a couple months ago after being referred by a close friend. I seemed to be a little bit out of their normal delivery routes but since I go through so much water a month they seemed to want my business and were willing to deliver only once a month. This means I would be receiving 12-18 bottle of water a month in order to keep my family supplied. After my first delivery, I was about to run out of water again before the month was over and I called in and expressed the reason why I left the previous supplier and that I didn't want to be left in the same situation without good clean cooking and drinking water. They said they would take care of it and I believe they expedited my delivery. That was very nice of them. Fast forward to about 6 days ago. I called in and finally got to speak with someone. I expressed how I was running low on my water and was hoping for an expedited delivery once again. I was told by the representative that I should call back 5 days before I actually run out of water.... I thought that was odd since I order half alkaline water and half filtered water. I use the filtered for my cooking, house plants, my fish and so forth! I figured we are in interesting times and I'll just try to get by and call back when my supply is a little lower. (They usually only deliver once a month to me) I call back this morning and go through the automated service and choose option 3 as I am an existing customer. The service just hangs up on me three times in a row after calling 3 separate times. I decide to call back a 4th time and chose option 1 this time for sales. I instantly get my call answered and it's Marlene. I explain to her how unsettling it is that existing customers are being hung up on while any new clients get their calls answered instantly. She doesn't seem to bothered by this fact. I let her know I'm out of my water and would like my deliver sooner please as I called in about a week ago making the same request and being told to call back when my supply is lower. I let her know that using a 13 dollar bottle of alkaline water for my cooking just doesn't make send when the other bottles cost half the amount and are more suitable for cooking. She pretty much gives up and transfers me to her manager who was extremely rude. No introduction. No sorry. Nothing. He just let me know that they can't do anything and their existing loyal customer who only gets a delivery once a month. A huge deliver of 170 bucks a month, cannot be taken care of.... Complete shock. I requested for my service to be cancelled and without hesitation the gentleman replied perfect we will pick up our merchandise Friday. No customer loyalty. Horrible customer service. Bad business practices. Worst of all. Left with no water supply. Just goes to show that once they get your business they pretty much could care less if you are willing to pay for more product. Marlene even had the nerve to tell me, "well, why don't u just keep using the alkaline for everything" Telling a human being what to do with the products and services they pay for is just out of control and so rude. Such a reach for a companies representative to tell their customer how to live and use their water. Be weary of this company. They put on a great facade and act like they are here for you. I've been dreading leaving this review because I hate leaving negative feedback... Upon delivery, the dispenser was leaky and i lost a good amount of water to my kitchen floor. Phresh Water said they would bring me a new dispenser and water bottle the following week. When they arrived, they did not have my replacement water and managed to spill 1/3 of another bottle. While the new dispenser was working... I was out a lot of water that I paid for. Email communication is near impossible. They had responded, but were not clear or willing to work with me on understanding fair compensation. When I asked to terminate service, they sent someone who called me from a random number (so I didn't answer) and didn't even knock on the door. I still have their stuff taking up space in my house and they won't come get it at a reasonable time. I just want this to be over honestly. I didn't get the sense that they cared or wanted to resolve the issue fairly which is why I terminated. In summary: they aren't great communicators, the product can be faulty, and there is better tasting water. Would not recommend to anyone in my circle.
