Bow ties are cool.) addressed the immediate problem, then directed my next steps for the long-term solution. He consulted a colleague and reservied an appointment for me. I was seen by another doctor (also at an Immediate md) within 24 hours, and received follow-up phone calls and referrals to in-network (!) professionals. Immediate MD delivered effective action toward resolving an ongoing health issue for me. I had a pleasant visit today at Immdiate MD in North Center. People were friendly and caring. My issue was treated in an excellent, thorough manner by the staff and Dr. Macumber. The place is very clean and orderly. Water and single cup beverages are available in the waiting room, as is a TV. I filled out standard forms and was soon treated. There is a free parking lot a door or so north of the location which is on the corner of Byron and Western. When I went in the middle of a Monday afternoon, there was adequate street parking. I had some questions about my insurance to ask the receptionist and they were handled quickly. Don't be afraid to ask questions and have someone double-check--insurance plans are tricky. Of course, you don't NEED insurance to be treated. Before you see any doctor I always recommend you check with your insurance plan and the doctor's office if insurance coverage is important to you. I've been to Physicians many times at different locations and this one. I've ALWAYS had great doctors with such understanding and respect for their patients. Unfortunately, this last time was not so pleasant. Long story: I went in a couple weeks ago for a sore throat which I believed was strep (white dots in throat, fever, couldn't stand, dizzy, body hurt so bad, tonsils swollen, headache etc.) got tested for both strep and flu, fortunately they both came back negative. So the doctor said tonsillitis and I was put on antibiotics. Even then he seemed a little confused as to what I even DID have. *Mind you this is the 6th/7th time being sick with something and being put on some form of medicine/antibiotics since the end of nov. 2017* I finish my round of antibiotics for 10 days and feel absolutely great up till a few days after I finish them. I felt like myself again, which I haven't felt in awhile. Now, I wake up in the middle of the night 4 days after I finished them with my throat on fire and couldn't swallow same feeling as before without the fever etc. just no voice in the morning (which is great cause I have to teach). I wait to see if it gets worse the next day, same thing happens I wake up in the middle of the night with my throat on fire and can't swallow. So I go back to the clinic to get re-evaluated. I've never felt SO disrespected and misunderstood from a doctor in my life. I saw the same doctor I had before and he said there was nothing wrong with my tonsils, despite me being in so much pain, and that all he could do was give me mouthwash to numb. I asked for him to help me and give me some other advice on what I can do around the house or in my everyday life to prevent this from happening. SINCE I'M SICK, BACK TO, BACK TO BACK ALL THE TIME. Nothing. I asked if he could give me an explanation on how come everything cleared up and felt fine after the antibiotics and now I'm sick again with what he says is just a virus. All he said was and I quote "Yeah, that's unfortunate." All I wanted was help, I'm tired of feeling like crap all the time, my body is literally giving up. And this guy just wanted me out the door he probably doesn't even know what to do at this point and if that's the case just admit it and send me to someone else. I asked for other doctors and he didn't know what to say. I asked for a possible ENT specialist and all he did was scoff at me. (Considering my family has had a history with complications with their tonsils and brother and mom have had swollen tonsils that had to be removed, It's not a dumb question.) I teach dance and I'm a professional dancer. I need my body and my voice. So when I'm asking a professional doctor for HELP I expect more. When a patient is ASKING for help find a way, actually listen to what's wrong, don't tell the patient they're not feeling a certain way. Are you them, no? LISTEN. I've been sick since the end of nov. It's not normal. And all I wanted was help. I can't yawn, my voice goes in and out, it hurts to swallow, honestly it sometimes hurts to move my neck in certain positions cause of my tonsils. 100% recommended. The office is clean, fast, and unbelievably friendly. I got doored biking and made my way to this office and I couldn't have been treated any better. As a patient they treated me like family, assisting me the whole time and making sure all of my concerns were addressed and answered. They have an online option to check in as well as right there in the office and I opted for the latter. By the time I could fill out the one page sheet of information they called my name to go back. Efficient and true care even getting vitals and the doctor didn't rush me at all and made sure I was good to go before exiting. The next day I received a text message from the business asking if I was feeling better and prompted a phone number if I wasn't feeling 100% I was overwhelmed with joy of how caring that was to follow up. I've been to this practice a few times now and am consistently underwhelmed. Today I went for a burn. The dr that came in didn't use hand sanitizer before grabbing gloves and then proceeded to touch my burn- far from sterile or gold standard care for a burn with open blisters. They offered to dress the burn but when the medical assistant came in with an open, used package of unsterile gauze, used tube of silver sufla cream and some tape I decided to pass. Not only should these items be sterile since burns have a high risk of infection, but also gauze is a horrible choice- a nonstick, sterile telfa pad should have been used. No one wants to rip rough gauze from blistered skin. On a lesser note I did make an appointment online which apparently didn't matter. The walk-in appointment checking in before me was still seen first and I was put in line to be seen as a walk-in as well. Although this location is close it's worth it to drive somewhere else. read more

I had a really great experience here. I was able to make an appointment online, and only had to wait about 10-15 minutes when I got there. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful, and I really felt like the doctor took the time to understand my issue and treat it appropriately. I sliced my finger while preparing dinner for my birthday party. I knew I needed stitches, the cut was very deep and I could not stop the bleeding. I remembered getting a flyer in the mail and remembered where the center was. I did not want to go to the ER and spend my afternoon there. I needed help asap! I was taken to the Immediate Md on Western. I was greeted by a very caring staff who took my insurance info and got me back to get treatment. I met Dr. Macumber, who immediately made me feel relaxed and assured me he could treat me. He was gentle and gave me some cream to numb my finger before he injected me. I was a nervous mess! He took his time, gave me four stitches and instructions on how to care for my injury. I was on my way back home in about an hour. I am so grateful for this facility, the staff and Dr. Macumber. I decided to try this place out as it is very close to my house and has extended hours. I was impressed. I was feeling awful for over a week (could barely stand or walk I would get so dizzy) and could not kick whatever was bringing me down. The doctor prescribed me an antibiotic and two days later I am feeling a whole lot better. The facilities are new and beautiful. The staff is friendly and I was pleased that a doctor is there at all times to see patients. They also have x-rays and full lab services so you don't have to go anywhere else. They also called to follow up to see how I was doing. I will definitely be going back for any urgent care needs. read more

We went here today just because it's so close to our house & unlike minute clinic, they see children under 18 months! The staff was very nice, service was quick & the facility is brand new with many capabilities beyond what our needs were today. What I liked most was the fact that the MD we saw has over 15 years of experience in family medicine so I knew we were in capable hands. He was very thorough & not rushed at all nor was he quick to prescribe meds or order unnecessary tests just to pacify which I have found at other facilities. He was knowledgable & provided evidence based information. Speaking from a healthcare providers point of view, I would recommend this facility for issues that come up when your primary care physician is unavailable & an ER visit is overkill. read more

Blair and Dr. Macumber both had such a calming effect on me when I came in to see them after cutting the top of my finger and my nail off using a paper cutter. Even though I somehow had no pain, the idea of the injury (technically an amputation! eep!) was scary to me, and looking at it made me burst into nervous tears. Between the two of them, they sat with me for over 45 minutes using compression to stop the bleeding and talking to me calmly about the injury or about anything else. I wanted to take the time to write a review, as I've seen some mixed opinions. The staff was courteous and professional. The location appeared to be well kept and clean. There were plenty of hand sanitizers and tissues around. They even have a monitor so you know where you sit in the queue. I was seen within 5 minutes of completing paperwork. I saw one comment below about the doctor not washing his hands. I think this stemmed from the fact that there is not a sink in each examination room. The sink is right outside the rooms. I heard him wash his hands right before coming in, and then sanitize prior to making any contact. All in all, they performed the service as advertised. It's easy to make an appointment online in advance (definitely check wait times before you go) and once then once in my experience you get in and out fairly quickly. So...I actually came here as a result of the previous review which was negative. I was looking for a clinic with rapid Covid testing, which there are not too many in chicagoland. I could't get through to the 2 walgreens locations when trying to book an appointment, innovativecorona required an appointment and it opened a new batch of appointments available at 8am, so I was left with walk ins for physicians immediate care as the most proactive approach I had available. Innovativecorona didn't have the best reviews and most of the physicians immediate care do not have great reviews in this current time of covid testing. Other sites have reviews of waiting in public spaces together while waiting to get tested, not the best situation for potential covid exposure, billing issues depending on the company chosen...so I was trying to look for the best case scenario. This site, had a review of someone having difficulty being seen because they didn't come in a car. I actually liked that the staff tried to enforce the rules that they have. I understand it was probably super frustrating for the individual without a car. So that issue seems to be fixed at this site. You should arrive early..I arrived at 7:15 am and the line probably ended about 5 people after me, if not less. They have tape markings on the sidewalk to social distance people as they wait outside in the morning. Around maybe 7:45 a staff member comes by and asks how many people in your group and then they put up a sign at the end of their count that no more covid testing available (along those lines, the sign was faced away from me). After the clinic opened the staff member went through the line getting some basic information and cell phone number and says you can go wait in your car and what time to be back around. They got to my spot in line about 8:30ish. It seemed like they went through the line in a few batches. I may have been the third batch.They also ask if you drove or walked...so they now have a chair I saw outside the clinic for a non car walk up. I was told to come back around 10:30. They texted you a link for registration info, to upload your drivers license and insurance. I actually got a call at 11:18 to come to the designated parking spots, things obviously take longer than anticipated...which is to be expected. On the call they asked about current symptoms, medical history, current medications etc. Someone came out and took vitals by rolling a cart with a bp cuff, thermometer, pulse oximeter and measure you through your car window, or if you are sitting in the chair outside your clinic. I saw them wheel it back inside and wipe it down immediately. A person calls later (11:45) and went through what symptoms you may have, why you want to be tested etc. The person explained the algorithm of how it is decided if you get a rapid test or the test that takes a few days. I was allowed to have the rapid test. Within a few minutes a person came out for a nasal swab, not the most fun, but was over quickly. While waiting for results someone came out and listened to my lungs and discussed my concerns of why I was seeking a test. I left with my results right after noon. Long morning, but was seen and the experience was straight forward and generally pleasant especially given the volumes these clinics must have every day. I really appreciate that they are trying to do their best to follow rules to provide safe care avoiding exposure. I apologize for this lengthy review, but I genuinely started this morning figuring I was negative, but going to get tested may change that if a facility was going to be not enforcing good practices that made it likely for covid exposure. I got lucky because when I arrived there was only one person ahead of me; however they saw me quickly and did the job well. They called two days after I visited to check on how the medication was working and how I was feeling, which was great because they were able to answer some lingering questions that I had. For an issue which needed prompt attention on a Sunday, but didn't warrant an er visit, this clinic is great and capable of treating most injuries, infections, and minor illnesses. Received an automated follow up text a couple days later to ensure all was well. Call came about a week after my visit with lab results and lady was confused to what they were. on the whole I didn't expect them to be as competent, clean, or thorough as they were and my out of pocket was the same as a standard physicians visit. read more

This was a quick and painless visit but expensive. Their website states that a physician visit can cost as little as $70. I was charged $200 for a 5 minute visit with the doctor to look in my son's ears (I should say ear because the second he moved when she went to check his other ear she said lets just treat him, it's clear he has an infection). What is stated on their website about cost is very misleading, check it out! Next time I will go to my pediatrician for a sick visit, it actually costs less & they aren't afraid when my child squirms a little. read more

They have a screen in the waiting room letting you know your estimated wait time. Luckily, there was 1 person in front of me and I was called back in no time.
