I never write reviews anymore but felt it was worth it this time. I had a nagging leg injury from a hike that wouldn't go away on its own, so I decided it was time for me to finally get professional help. I could have gone with a traditional, if not, old school physical therapist, but decided to give PhysioRX a try. I was nervous about going here though, as I'm not a super athlete or major weight lifter but figured if they had such great reviews, that I should give them a shot. I'm so glad I did! I had my phone consultation, then an in person one. I mainly worked with Connor who was an absolute joy to work with. While the approach wasn't what I expected, I am just as happy as every other reviewer. Once I did the phone and in person consult, I was equipped with an app where they assign all the exercises specifically for you. It was so easy to use. The exercises were personalized for me, and when I found ones I didn't like, they'd swap them for something else. I basically texted Connor and Will 4-5 times a week on my progress. Will, who was my secondary coach and available just as much as Connor was, and he was also awesome. Even if I didn't give them an update on how my workout went, they'd often check on me anyway. I had some weeks where I really didn't want to go to the gym, or felt very discouraged. They were there every step of the way. We even did some check in calls which I appreciated so much. I only intended on working with them for 1 month, but every time the month was finishing, I felt I had a lot of progress and continued my journey to 3 months. To be honest, I'm soooo sad to finish my 3 month stint because both of them were so great to work with, and I've seen major improvement in my leg. As someone who doesn't see themselves as an athlete by any means, their coaching really helped me get to a good place. I also realized that I was going to the gym all wrong for years. I learned so much from this experience, and kind of see my injury as a blessing in disguise as I now view rehab, exercise, and the gym in a completely different way. Was referred to PhysioRx by a former coach. I had been experiencing knee pain for a few months since marathon training, and wanted to get my knee in working health, as the weather warmed up. Met with Conor, and he gave me a great assessment and put me on a well-thought-out workout program. As a long time powerlifter whom has seen a few PTs before, I am skeptical on general PTs or pain management specialists because I've had pretty crappy experiences with general PTs. They are not always well versed in powerlifting injuries and often prescribe heat treatment or the general "stop doing that exercise." You won't get that cookie cutter experience here at PhysioRX. Their goal is to have you back to lifting at 100% rather than getting you to stop doing that exercise. I'm proud to say that PhysioRX worked wonders for me. I came in with a squatting injury in my lower back and saw Georgio Baylouni, a doctor of physical therapy. We first talked about what I was doing before, my progression, my workout routine, and the possible events that could have caused the injury. He spent the the hour diagnosing my injury with tests on my range of motion and went on with finding exercises that wouldn't aggravate the injured area. There was no 30 minutes of electro or heat therapy filler that I always get at other PTs. I left with a very reassured and excited to get back to my old workout program. After the initial session, I subscribed to PhysioRX's remote rehabilitation service. This is a service that allows the PT to give you a rehab plan through an app. Within that app, I am given a set routine every week for a month to rehab. I am able to communicate with my PT, Georgio, via the app on my progress. He also frequently checks up on me to make sure I have no trouble with the exercises. Best of all, Georgio is incredibly knowledgeable on the injuries of powerlifting and within a month, I am pain free. I was recommended to PhysioRX by a friend and I couldn't be happier that I was. I am a runner and was training for an upcoming marathon and had injured my thigh during training. During my first appointment I met with Will and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. We did a thorough interview and examination to try and pinpoint what was causing me the pain. We then went over a few strengthen exercises and talked about how we could best address my pain. The best part of this process was the PhysioRX app. Will was able to formulate a recovery/workout plan for me through that app that I could easily track my progress on while having weekly check ins and a conversation through direct messages. I made an appointment with Georgio because I needed help dealing with my tendonitis. The pain wasn't severe but it was preventing me from my running, which was my primary form of exercise. Georgio suggested I try out the small group fitness classes, which would take a more holistic approach to dealing with my tendonitis. I was apprehensive because of the financial and time commitment but I decided to go for it. I was eager to break my pattern of doing high impact cardio and injuring myself every couple of months or doing intense workout classes that made me so sore I would never come back. But the small group classes are totally my jam and I'm already on my second series. It's just four people and somebody is always there to work with me and answer my questions, which I have a lot of because I'm a complete dummy when it comes to going to the gym (for example: I thought that doing a completely different set of workouts each time I went was what we're supposed to do.. and it is not). Each session has workouts that are tailored to fit my goals and keep up forward momentum at the right pace. Before PhysioRx, I used to constantly check the clock looking for when I could finally leave the gym or studio but I don't do that here because Georgio and Will have created a realistic workout plan for me that is both challenging but not intimidating. Everyone attending the classes are also so nice and because the class is so small you will end up getting to know some of people you work out with. PhysioRX is the real deal. I came to their team in December with knee pain that was keeping me from running. I've been to a bunch of PTs before to try and solve running injury flair ups in my left knee with few results. The team at PhysioRX doesn't go the easy route and they deliver hard workouts to you that will get you healthy the right way. They diagnosed what the problem was in one in person meeting, then they planned out my workouts on a weekly basis that I got to view via their app, and any questions I had would be answered quickly via the message function in app. The strength training was tough but really worked wonders, it was a true no short cuts approach that I already feel the effects of just three months later. Stumbled upon these guys whilst trying to find physical therapy with my sub-par insurance. They don't accept insurance, because they're cool like that. Instead, they offer fair pricing for a much more holistic approach to recovery. I went to them with help on a torn hip after I was diagnosed with the muscle tear, labral tear, and a cam deformity. Doctors were spewing all sorts of stuff about surgery and not being able to do the things I love most. These guys did a full physical assessment in person, and were able to then create a custom training program that not only helped me prepare for the season (motocross racing), but also showed me safe ranges of movement with my hip deformity, and helped improve pain I was having elsewhere from several other prior injuries. Went from a torn hip I was told shouldn't be used for heavy exercise and needed surgery to squatting 245, no surgery, and feeling stronger than I've felt in my life. They have several options to make it affordable for us less financially fortunate new yorkers, and are able to work with you remote via their app, avoiding the hassle of scheduling PT during work hours several times a week. After 10 weeks they have me feeling strong, healthy, confident and trusting of the abilities of my previously injured areas, and on top of it all taught me how to create my own programs for the future. I knew as I returned to a more vigorous schedule with multiple sports it would be critical to have a personalized program. Suffered a torn achilles and was recommended to PhysioRx by my doctor and a co-worker. Hurt my back at the gym on Friday, woke up on Saturday not able to walk. Saw the good yelp reviews for Georgio at PhysioRX, and was able to get in a few hours later (on a Saturday morning during the holiday season, no less). Georgio had excellent bedside manner, explained what he thought was going on, listened to every concern I had, and outlined his plan for me to get back to feeling well. By far the best PT experience I have ever had- it took a quarter of the amount of sessions to get feeling normal than any other PT I have visited. I'm so thankful I found georgio for PT. He was highly recommended by a coworker. I had lower back pain from sitting in an awkward position at work. Georgio helped me change the habits of sitting and he also gave me stretches to do throughout the day so my condition doesnt get worse. After years of ignoring and pushing through pain and shoulder stability issues, I finally did myself in and got to the point where my shoulder basically stopped function. I couldn't reach for anything overhead, I had difficulty getting shirts and undergarments on and off, and I couldn't throw a football or shoot a basketball anymore (which is a pretty big issue when you are the mom of two active boys!). Beyond the day to day life function concerns, my workouts were suffering as well. There was just so much I could no longer do - nothing weight bearing at all. During my initial consult with Georgio, he asked "What would a successful physical therapy outcome be for you?". I laughed and said, "This might sound sadistic, but I want to be able to do burpees again." I'm happy to say that after 12 weeks of once-weekly therapy with Georgio, I am back to doing burpees and they are better than ever! (My ability to get day to day life function back came much more quickly, within 4-6 weeks.) Georgio worked with me holistically to not only address my shoulder injury, but also to address some of my other form and strength deficiencies in other areas that likely contributed in part to my shoulder injury. I worked with Zach when I pulled my hamstring last year and was really struggling to get back to exercise. I hated feeling like I couldn't work out but he assured me I could. I love that PhysioRX focuses on how much you CAN do and works accordingly. I would have some good and some bad days but I always felt like I was making progress. Zach also gave me extremely clear directions and explanations for things I could work on at home, with accompanying videos. He empowered me to continue on my own with further instructions on how to interpret when I could push further and when I should be stopping so I wouldn't hinder my progress. I sustained a herniated disc injury about 6 years ago. At the time, I was able to avoid surgery through Epidural Steroid Injections and extensive physical therapy. As anyone with a back injury knows, this becomes somethIng you have to live with and manage on an on going basis. A couple months back I re-aggravated the injury (largely due to a prolonged period of long work hours and physical inactivity). My doctor gave me oral steroids and told me to start Physical Therapy. I was referred to Georgio by a coworker who had been a patient of his and was super emphatic about how great he was and how positive her experience was with him. His location was close to my office by Madison Square Park so I decided to give it a shot. Best decision I have made in awhile! The difference between my previous Physical Therapy experience and my sessions with Georgio have been NIGHT AND DAY. My previous experience was largely limited to generic floor mat type stretches. I could tell right away Georgio had a much more proactive, personalized, and engaged approach. He pretty quickly had me doing a wide range of exercises that were much more complex (and more effective) than in my previous experience. It wasn't long before Georgio had me doing work with kettlebells and doing deadlifts (something I would have never imagined!). To put that in perspective - I couldn't walk unassisted when I first re-aggravated my injury. Georgio has given me my life back. Add onto all of that that he is super positive, professional, easy to talk to, very responsive in communications, and takes the time to explain the process / injury / how your body works. PhysioRX is not your typical PT organization. You will not be in a room with a ton of other patients all doing the same exercises for similar ailments with zero supervision. What you will have is a one on one experience tailored to your needs and goals. I have had 4 knee reconstructions and found PhysioRX (specifically, Georgio) when I was having pain in the "good knee". I learned of his work through my Crossfit gym and all the work he does with the athletes and trainers there. At our first meeting I knew this was the real deal. I had finally met someone who listened to not just what ailed me but someone who asked about my goals and expectations for when my knee was better. I didn't do 20 clamshell exercises while he met with another patient only to have him come back and ask me to do 20 leg lifts while he met with yet a 3rd patient. My sessions with Georgio are very much like having my own personal trainer working to not just alleviate pain but to find the root of that pain and treat the mechanics causing it. I came to see Georgio at PhysioRX for my shoulder. It had been hurting me on and off for a couple of years, but after a certain point the pain progressed to where it was really impacting my quality of life.
