You get 1-to-1 attention, diagrams and oral communication. I really believe they care and I find that the therapy is rigorous but not overbearing. They emphasize core performance to support the areas that are injured allowing more time for healing to avoid relapse. The program is adjusted to meet your condition and strength for that day's visit. I have been fighting a recurring swelling problem and they have a good program for strengthening without being too hard on the injured joint. They had a very specific method to reduce the swelling that was far more effective than my last place. Jeff emphasizes proper posture in all of the exercises and explains in detail why he is favoring doing one thing and not another. Your home program is clear and written out with diagrams, reps and limits. This outfit is affiliated with Sequoia Hospital and is no longer a BAK facility anymore. I was told that the hospital did not renew their contract with BAK. I have had good and bad experiences with PT and this place is definitely on the good end of the spectrum. I am really happy to be going there. I feel this place is there to help you heal rather than collect the copay. It is very personal service much more like a good doctors office rather than a fitness gym.

Billing is a nightmare…read more My husband came here for several months for back pain. I went twice for pregnancy related piriformis pain. The physical therapists we saw were great. The problem lies in their billing practices and difficulty paying your bills. My husband never received billing statements after the visits and he tried contacting the billing department multiple times to get a statement so he could pay. Eventually, we received paper statements in the mail with a link to pay online. Entering statement ID # or account # from the statement on the website led to dead ends (no account found). We tried looking up accounts by our demographics etc and nothing came up. When we tried calling the billing department phone # listed to get the "correct" statement ID in order to make a payment, the tele reps were absolutely useless. It took my husband at least 4 phone calls, receiving different statement ID #s each time, none of which worked when we tried to pay online. We were told after other phone calls that they would mail us the statements with corrected information--which we never received. Eventually he was able to get the correct statement ID #s and pay for the visits by calling for what seemed like the millionth time. Months later, he received paper statements trying to charge him $2300 for two visits (our specialist copay is $50 per visit) that he had already paid for. We called billing again and were told the bills would be put "on hold." A year later, he received more paper statements in the mail for those same already paid visits, again for $2300. I'm still dealing with trying to pay for my visits, and just received notice that I was sent to a debt collector for two visit copays, a balance of $100. Just... don't even bother with this place.

From day one, Mayra and the entire team at Speachy made us feel completely at ease. Mayra is not only deeply knowledgeable, but also has a natural ability to create a welcoming environment where our daughter felt comfortable right away. She always took the time to explain what was going on and gave us clear, practical ways to support our daughter's progress. We've seen real improvement, and more importantly, our daughter genuinely enjoyed going to her sessions. A special thank you to Erica as well -- she made all the administrative stuff so easy and handled every request with patience and care. And even when we had to cancel at the very last minute (which we felt terrible about), they never once made us feel bad. On the contrary, they were always kind, understanding, and incredibly supportive. We couldn't be happier with our experience, and we couldn't recommend the Speachy Learning Center more.

We were referred to this office by a family friend two years ago. All the teachers are highly qualified, we met with teacher Shereen and teacher Michelle. Our family discouraged us from this place because it is an older facility and it seems there is a mix of physical / occupational therapy and longer term care patients (it is true). What I found was a caring staff, smaller set-up and nice group of patients to help mom transition to what might be a new path for her. Mom has vision, hearing, short term memory and now physical weakness and she likes the place. I have found that when I want a modification to her care (later bed time, that I would do mom's laundry, to review the list of goals for her physical abilities) the staff is quite willing to accommodate. Mom may not fully get back on her feet and we might need long term care and Devonshire has been a good staging area to determine what is possible. Mom's room mate has be so patient with mom and her short term memory issues. The grounds are nice and it is possible to have our visit out in the courtyard which mom likes. Devonshire is not for everyone but for my mother's needs it has been a God send for our family.

What sets Devonshire apart from other facilities we've witnessed is the relaxed, but responsible set up: not too many beds, nurses/staff were kind and responsive, no overly rigid rules on visiting hours and it made our family's participation easy & welcomed at a very stressful time in our lives. The other differentiator was the food - they generally cook well balanced meals, especially at dinner. The fillet of fish with a tomato puree topping still stands out in my mind. Thank you Devonshire Oaks!

I…read morelooked up for OT providers on google when I realized we need help with executive functioning difficulties. She doesn't accept insurance and is out of network. She called me back after receiving my voicemail, and talked to me at length about how her therapy differs from others. All my friends said if someone oversells something, it's definitely not good. I had not much to lose and it was close enough for me to manage. Boy! was I suprised! That's an understatement. Every single session brought profound change. 'Bliss' is what I describe what I see after every session in a normally happy child. Gestures came out, expressive language skills sky rocketed, bi-lateral coordination improved, social skills improved, interactivity improved. Coginitive functions improved. We have been there for little over 6 months, I can't even remember how the kid was when we started. We are at a totally different level and I feel confident with every single session. Also, I haven't met a therapist who is so confident and assures us that our kids will be fine the way she does. She truly means it with all her heart. She is very confident in her therapy and so we see the results. She is as dedicated as one can be in her art of sensory processing. She is the best thing that happenned to us and I am grateful for GOD to lead us to her. She is also the best counselor when I go to her after a bad report from school. She boosts my morale instantly. She is always available, I report an issue or share input she responds immediately. At one time, I panicked after a school report and she was on vacation and I messaged what I can do about it. She called me, while on her vacation and spent over an hour over the phone, her personal time, reassuring me sensing my anxiety. I cannot think of anybody other than my family members being with me in such tough times. She spends way beyond an hour for the therapy sessions we go to with things like this. She is family that you don't know you need in the special needs journey. I wish she trains some OTs to expand her practice to make her services available for wider public. They are so needed for so many kids. Every dollar we spend is completely worth it. I say even if you have to mortgage your house to afford her therapy, go for it. That will be the best investment that will reap rewards down the road and save you so much anxiety after you see the kind of progress you wish to see in your child. As you see in other reviews this is a consistent experience for every client she sees. She never lets a client go, it is not believable that nobody ever stops her therapy to change to a different provider. She is the one stop shop. You will never need to look elsewhere and you WILL feel fully taken care of.
