    Short rib pho
    Kapil D.

I can't believe we waited so long to try this place! Right when you walk in you immediately smell the broth, it smells amazing!! The restaurant is fairly big with lots of tables and booths and is very clean and new. The service was great, our server was super friendly and polite and helped us pick our dishes. Also, the food didn't take long at all. My wife and I ended up trying a couple of appetizers and separate entrees. Overall - the food was super tasty and VERY FRESH!! Appetizers - Summer Rolls - the summer themselves were not special as good as any other place, but the peanut sauce was incredible! It had a dollop of a spicy sauce in the middle that was an awesome combination! Chicken Wings - the chicken wings had a really nice crunch and were topped with some sort of dust that was really nice as well. Here's the kicker, they also had a sauce that was awesome! Some sort of lemongrass sauce that also had some spice to it. Dinner - Short rib pho - this was my wife's meal, she really loved it and I had a taste as well. The broth was nicely balanced and the short rib was nice and tender. I would have enjoyed it with more spice but it wasn't my meal. Grilled pork vermicelli - this was my dinner and it was really good! Everything just tasted so fresh and that made it better than other restaurants to me. I added the chili oil they have on the table and it was awesome. Really looking forward to going back and trying more dishes.

I'm coming off of a cold, so I told my husband to find a good spot for Pho on our way to the movie theater in Altamonte Springs. Pho Mai immediately popped up on several searches (including Yelp), so we decided to try it out. This low-key, unassuming restaurant is located in a strip mall in Lake Mary. The decor was simple with Oriental accents. Pho Mai is a clean restaurant, but they did have a large pile of their beverages (and more came during our meal) piled in one corner of the restaurant in plain sight. My husband isn't a huge fan of Pho, so he ordered beef teriyaki a top an order of beef fried rice. He loved it and cleaned his plate. I ordered the chicken Pho (I asked for veggie broth instead of the beef broth it came with) and it soothed my craving. I liked how it wasn't over-powered with anise like some Pho recipes. Our server was polite, but not very attentive. We were the only customers for the majority of the meal and we could see and hear (it was loud) him watching something on his phone at the front desk. We grew tired of waiting for the check, so my husband approached him after twenty minutes (and no, this isn't the type of place that you pay at the cash register as we saw previous customers pay at their table). Other than this snafu, we enjoyed our visit.

I was needing some phoʻ in my belly and was in the Lalr Mary area so I did a quick stop. It was around 230ish, long after the lunch rush so I walked into a quiet restaurant. Another person came in shortly after me and sat on the other side of the rows. After choosing my own seat, I placed an order for steak phoʻ ($17) with a full sized can of sprite soda ($4). The plastic wrapped plate with crunchy, fresh bean sprouts, thai basil and a lime wedge were given to me and my medium sized bowl came out soon after. The soup had thin slices of steak, white onion and noodles with the delicious broth holding it all together. It was very tasty and truly was what I needed. The service was great, the gentle music was relaxing.

Fresh Veggies, Friendly Service, But Just Okay Overall Stopped by Pho Mai for a casual meal and ordered the beef pho and beef fried rice. Everything was just... okay. Nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out flavor-wise either. The veggies were fresh and the presentation was solid, but the dishes lacked that something special that keeps you coming back. On the plus side, the service was great, friendly and fast, which we appreciated. The space itself was clean but very minimal, with little in the way of decor or ambiance. We usually go to Viet Nomz and were hoping to find a new favorite, but Pho Mai didn't quite measure up. Probably a one-and-done for us.

Pho & Noodle Soup Only with some additional ingredients like soy sauce and hoisen sauce and chilli sauce and oil.

I was uneasy at first trying this place as there was a sign on the wall explaining how to clean up diarrhea and vomit. I still chose to buck up and give it a try and i was pleasantly surprised! The food was pretty good for Pho it was definitely authentic. The service was alright for a small (I'm assuming) family run business.

Not too bad. We actually only stopped in because we were staying nearby and our go-to place was temporarily out of business. So with cravings for pho, here we go ..or err went. Everything was okay, alright. Service was splendidly doting in the moment, however, we still needed to hunt our check down and pay at the counter. Was also long spells of inactivity when we could have used them. And there's no mood music going on, so you'll have to suffer through the sounds of everyone else's problems ranging from trivial ordering issues to politics on our visit. I thought the veggie pho was cheap with the ingredients or less diverse than other pho's I've had and learned to come to expect. And something was also lost with the accoutrements arriving all cellophaned up. Hmn. There's also no tap water but they'll bring you "free" bottled water you'll find out is free only after you order it; thank you awkwardly but not sure why you go through all that then. Spring rolls were good. Teriyaki chicken was good. I don't think I'd return but money well spent.

    Beef fried rice

I ordered beef fried rice and got 4 super small and thin pieces of beef in the entire thing.. I'm eating straight fried rice - and this beef is terrible.

We planned to attend here because we heard about a new Pho place in the area. Right in the heart of Lake Mary shopping you'll find this to the right side of Academy Sports. A perfect spot for anyone in the area. Great atmosphere, very warm and welcoming. We were greeted and sat down at a booth. Loved the menu, I do wish they served Bahn Mi but the menu was very simple with a contemporary design and a nice selection of entree items and appetizers. We ordered: Summer rolls and spring rolls as appetizers. Our favorite was the dipping sauce for the fried spring rolls but both appetizers were fire! We also ordered 2 Pho bowls: shrimp and the beef&tendon bowl. What we loved most about these were the broth! The broth is fantastic, we barely needed to add any hoisin sauce or chili sauce. If you're looking for a spot that's quiet and chill, stop by here and enjoy a meal or two. We were the only customers and so I encourage everyone to support this new restaurant! It definitely is a gem!

Good food, the pork with vermicelli I ordered lasted me two meals, as the portion was large as well as delicious. I found the place a little empty, perhaps because its so new. Neat and clean, restaurant, with quick and efficient service on top of the good food - what else can one want? Totally coming back here.

I came here with my wife and father for lunch. It's very clean and the staff is very nice. The fried rice I have tasted great! The flavor profile was delicious and different, better than the other pho spots around here. My wife and dad had their pho, so I tasted the broth and it was very good! In my opinion, this place is the best pho spot in lake Mary right now to me.

Chicken Fried Rice. Dark Hard Mystery Meat. Not chicken. Broccoli over cooked. A couple of canned carrot squares, stale rice.

Lighthouse is both a full seafood market and restaurant, giving you that fresh off the boat quality seafood cooked exactly how you like and served right to your table. I had the Blackened Grouper with broccoli and parsley red potatoes. The fish was seasoned and cooked perfectly, super juicy and incredibly fresh. The sides were just as good paired with the fish perfectly. I also had a tasty little side Caesar salad. The house Caesar dressing was great, lightly dressed so it didn't drown the romaine like some places do, and finished with grated parmesan and crunchy croutons. Overall, this was a great meal. The service was great, the food was excellent, and I would highly recommend checking them out.

My sister started with the clam chowder, which she thought was a little spicy but good. I had a small Caesars salad. For the entree my sister ordered one snow crab cluster which I know for a fact their market price was high, also they don't offer them in any kind of seasoning. Putting Old Bay on them just makes the shell spicy. I ordered the 15 reds, which are peel and eat shrimp. They were great, cooked perfectly. We ordered the hush puppies 3 count, now this was a problem because first they should never be that big and on the oily side to me. Problems I noticed, some of the wait staff is not that friendly also most of the staff serving food without gloves. A young man brought a bowl of food to a customer with his thumb on the rim, gross. This is my major complaint and take away that confirms I won't be back. There are two prices listed on the menu, one if you pay in cash and a higher price if you use a card. That is unacceptable, because some places will state that there will be a percentage up charge , not for every item. The place was somewhat busy when we arrived, but it was a constant flow of traffic, because they also have a seafood market inside to buy your own. I wasn't noisy at all when we went, not sure what it's like later in the evening. My personal takeaway is it's a nice enjoyable place for the locals, but if you're looking flavorful seafood, look further.

First of all, ambiance is spectacular. This place is simply, but effectively, done up from floor to ceiling with Peruvian vibes. When we learned that they are part of the Don Julio restaurant group, it all made sense. Their restaurants are always dressed to the nines. Very luxurious and fun. Their service was just as spectacular. Our guy was very attentive all night long, the bussers were very prompt and were checking in on us, too, and the manager himself came over and checked in with us, twice! We felt the love all night. Excellent service. As for the food, let's get into it. Apps Empanadas de Lomo Saltado (Golden empanadas filled with wok-fired beef tenderloin, red onions, scallions, and melted mozzarella; served with a garlic cilantro aioli). Nice little empanadas that were crisp and well-filled, and they came with a pungent aioli. I will say, I also had the chance to try the hummus and the ceviche, as well. Those two are better apps, if you're a couple trying to decide. I myself couldn't help myself and I got the updated app, the Ponle Corazón (peruvian street food icon, char-grilled beef hearts brushed with smoky anticuchera sauce; served with roasted Andean potatoes, choclo, and rocoto huacatay crema +$5). They're right. I've been to Peru, and beef heart was everywhere. It was so nice seeing this item as an option on a MDM menu. For only $5 more, I couldn't resist. This heart was so well-cooked. Tender, beautiful grill lines, slightly smokey from the glaze. And accompanied by that lovely crema and those huge, beautiful kernels of Peruvian corn. Loved this. Mains Causa Limeña (ají amarillo and lime potato purée with acevichada shredded chicken, charred avocado, and huancaína sauce, finished with botija olive mayo, anticuchera aioli, avocado mousseline, scallions, and soft-boiled quail egg). This was a fun dish. It's cold, with the chicken being very similar to chicken salad. The mash was very bright and flavorful, and with purple dots here, green dots there, and those luscious quail eggs, this one was a lot of fun. Quinoa Capón (Peruvian tri-colored quinoa and wok-sautéed fried rice with shrimp, mushrooms, snow peas, bean sprouts, red peppers, and scallions, garnished with wonton strips). Fried rice/quinoa with tons of veggies. Huge, plump shrimp, this dish was simple, but it was a winner. I loved it. I am just realizing, though, and I didn't get any wonton strip garnish, so just keep an eye on that. Desserts Alfajores (traditional Peruvian sandwich cookies filled with dulce de leche). These were incredible. Soft cookies made into a sandwich with a dulce de leche inside that wasn't just a sugar bomb. It had a deep, rich, caramelly flavor and texture. Really great cookies. Merengon (classic sponge cake soaked in a blend of three milks, topped with baked meringue, diplomat cream, red berries, and a mix berries reduction). A very good version of tres leches, and On Top was a crispy, soft and chewy meringue. I couldn't believe my taste buds. They took tres leches, and made it even better. A really fun way to end the meal. Overall, wow, this was the best Magical Dining meal I've had in years. I'm not kidding. The menu is so vast, I can see myself coming back very soon to try everything else.
