To start off, we walked in and the atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. We were instantly greeted and walked to our booth right away. My husband and I had never been there before so as a first timer the scene was just relaxing and spa/modern feel and our server Abbey was top notch. Since we had never been there before she recommended us to try the Tiradito Hamachi and it was to die for! She was on top of her service while we were there which was about an hour. We were loving the food, drinks and Abbey that we had to just stay a little past our meal to take it all in. We thought about desserts but the portions were a great size that I might have to save room next time we go in for some. I highly suggest this restaurant to anyone who wants to try a new place. Pros: Ambiance is wonderful. It's like a Peruvian party in there. Upbeat, bright, slightly Mayan. It was beautiful inside. The service was also bright and upbeat. Very jovial people served us all night long, the drinks were plentiful and quick. And the pacing of the dinner was good, even though we were doing Magical Dining, we didn't feel rushed. The food was insane. Huge portions, huge flavors, and little ingredient choices that had a big impact on the overall dish. Really great food. Cons: Not a single con. There are so many ingredients in each dish, maybe just make sure they're all present on the plate when the food comes out. Visited for the Magical Dining. The atmosphere is super fun and beautifully decorated. Found out their happy hour/ladies night you must be seated at the bar to partake in the deal. The visit itself, staff was friendly and helpful. For us going early evening and not many people dining, the service was slightly slower in comparison to other establishments. We weren't in a huge rush so it didn't bother us but just stating it for the record. Now the food: I ordered the Empanadas which were fantastic. For the main course I did the Causa Limeña which is served cold, which is different but it looked stunning on the plate. However tasting it, it didn't wow me. It was like canned chicken on top of potatoes. Dessert was Alfajores which on paper sounded good but again the taste was mid. This weeks family dinner was at Pisco! We were excited to try it out because the reviews were great and who doesn't love Peruvian food with a twist?! We made a reservation for 5:30pm for our party of 5 on a Thursday night and were able to be seated right away. I was excited to see the inside because online photos looked great, and was pleasantly surprised with the decor. The space is laid out nicely and decorated well. Now let's talk food. Everyone in our group chose to do their magical dining offer, which was $40 per person. They offered several different options for appetizers, entrees, and desserts. 4/5 of us chose the beef empanadas and they were delicious. I personally had the pork bao buns and they were out of this world. For entrees, 2 had the pork belly dish, 2 the quinoa shrimp dish, and one salmon sushi (which did not say sushi on the menu). Everyone enjoyed their meal. The portions were good and everything was packed with flavor. For dessert, 3 of us had the Peruvian cookies and 2 the tiramisu. The dessert portions were generous and tasty as well. We had several cookies to bring home. The only reason I am rating Pisco a 4 and not a 5 is because of the service. Our waiter was very nice and did a great job. However, the food was very slow to come out, especially since only 5 tables in the restaurant were filled. We enjoyed the time with family but when you place your entire order at the beginning, 20-30 minutes between courses seems a bit much. I'd love to come back and try out the outdoor area! read more

Magical Dining time in Orlando. Out of 180+ menus, Pisco Peruvian Gastobar made our top six. That is a hard feat to do, and we were very excited to jump in and see what awaited us. First of all, ambiance is spectacular. This place is simply, but effectively, done up from floor to ceiling with Peruvian vibes. When we learned that they are part of the Don Julio restaurant group, it all made sense. Their restaurants are always dressed to the nines. Very luxurious and fun. Their service was just as spectacular. Our guy was very attentive all night long, the bussers were very prompt and were checking in on us, too, and the manager himself came over and checked in with us, twice! We felt the love all night. Excellent service. As for the food, let's get into it. Apps Empanadas de Lomo Saltado (Golden empanadas filled with wok-fired beef tenderloin, red onions, scallions, and melted mozzarella; served with a garlic cilantro aioli). Nice little empanadas that were crisp and well-filled, and they came with a pungent aioli. I will say, I also had the chance to try the hummus and the ceviche, as well. Those two are better apps, if you're a couple trying to decide. I myself couldn't help myself and I got the updated app, the Ponle Corazón (peruvian street food icon, char-grilled beef hearts brushed with smoky anticuchera sauce; served with roasted Andean potatoes, choclo, and rocoto huacatay crema +$5). They're right. I've been to Peru, and beef heart was everywhere. It was so nice seeing this item as an option on a MDM menu. For only $5 more, I couldn't resist. This heart was so well-cooked. Tender, beautiful grill lines, slightly smokey from the glaze. And accompanied by that lovely crema and those huge, beautiful kernels of Peruvian corn. Loved this. Mains Causa Limeña (ají amarillo and lime potato purée with acevichada shredded chicken, charred avocado, and huancaína sauce, finished with botija olive mayo, anticuchera aioli, avocado mousseline, scallions, and soft-boiled quail egg). This was a fun dish. It's cold, with the chicken being very similar to chicken salad. The mash was very bright and flavorful, and with purple dots here, green dots there, and those luscious quail eggs, this one was a lot of fun. Quinoa Capón (Peruvian tri-colored quinoa and wok-sautéed fried rice with shrimp, mushrooms, snow peas, bean sprouts, red peppers, and scallions, garnished with wonton strips). Fried rice/quinoa with tons of veggies. Huge, plump shrimp, this dish was simple, but it was a winner. I loved it. I am just realizing, though, and I didn't get any wonton strip garnish, so just keep an eye on that. Desserts Alfajores (traditional Peruvian sandwich cookies filled with dulce de leche). These were incredible. Soft cookies made into a sandwich with a dulce de leche inside that wasn't just a sugar bomb. It had a deep, rich, caramelly flavor and texture. Really great cookies. Merengon (classic sponge cake soaked in a blend of three milks, topped with baked meringue, diplomat cream, red berries, and a mix berries reduction). A very good version of tres leches, and On Top was a crispy, soft and chewy meringue. I couldn't believe my taste buds. They took tres leches, and made it even better. A really fun way to end the meal. Overall, wow, this was the best Magical Dining meal I've had in years. I'm not kidding. Do not be fooled.. ceviche is a filling dish! My friend and I had been eying this restaurant for quite some time and finally decided to check it out. The service was excellent, all the dishes were perfectly described and suggestions were made. We decided that we were going to try different appetizers based off the recommendations from our server. We obviously started with the ceviche. We opted for the El Trio so that we could try all 3 kinds of ceviche which came with tostones. My favorite was the ceviche de aji Amarillo. It was tasty, had octopus,shrimp and calamari. As mentioned, ceviche is quite filling and will creep up on you. Our second appetizer was the croquetas de aji de gallina and those were yummy as well. It's basically a cheese bread. We finished with the empanadas de lomo saltado which was served with a side of garlic aioli. I also ordered a pisco sour and loved it. Pisco Peruvian is a hidden gem in a basic plaza in the middle of Lake Mary, Florida. My wife and I celebrated our 18th year anniversary with our whole family during a recent vacation but never got to have a one-on-one date of our own. We decided to have dinner and picked Pisco on the recommendation of other friends and the pictures looked good. I called them and made a reservation and told them the occasion and that I really wanted it to be special. Soon as you walk in the attention to detail is impressive. The colors, the textures, the lighting, and music are on full display but not in an overwhelming way...more in an immersive way that makes you feel like you've walked into a different atmosphere. Our server Luz was very present and helpful throughout the entire evening. She assisted in selecting dishes and was always just a step away when we needed something. Before the night started they give you a little cup filled with cooked corn kernels. If you know the super crunchy kernels at the bottom of popcorn bags, now imagine a cup of them! We also got some drinks, couple of cocktails and couple of glasses of wine, they weren't incredible but they were solid. The pour was very nice. For appetizers we got the croquettes and a side of tostones (fried plantains). The croquettes were awesome, crispy on the outside, crabcake like on the inside and the sauce was great! The tostones were really fresh and not oily at all. They were served with a cilantro sauce that was fantastic. For dinner we typically get two dishes we want and share them. My wife ordered one of the risotto dishes and I got the Tay Pa. The risotto was really good and creamy with shrimp and I think prongs. The Tay Pa stole the show. Imagine a large square iron dish with a mound of steak, chicken, shrimp, and pork belly with a bunch of vegetables like sprouts, onions, bell peppers, and garlic. The dish was super fresh with a very mild sauce but what made is awesome was that every single thing was cooked to it's own perfect level. Four kinds of meat all cooked perfectly, multiple kinds of veggies all cooked perfectly the rice was kinda basic but it didn't matter! For our anniversary they also gave us a complimentary caramel cheesecake that was also really good and let us taste their house cinnamon pisco...Fire! in a good way! During dinner, they also had a photographer walking around and taking pictures that are then printed and put in a nice case. Pretty damn good. The seafood and ceviche portions run light so watch out for that if you come hungry. The desserts come in the same portion as the entrees! The vibe is cool. Chill, laid back. Best cocktail here is the Luna Andina. Make sure to get it with Vodka. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but once you inside the place transforms. Not 5 stars today but I'd recommend. I came back 5 minutes later to update this to a 5 only because the bartender had the decency to tell me that they already included 18% gratuity on the check. We've been to every restaurant that has been in this location but we're in awe when we walked in. It's absolutely beautiful! We celebrated our 11 year anniversary here last night and so glad we did. They have these little stands next to the table that held our umbrella (because Florida) and my purse - genius! We loved the added touch of the photographer walking around to capture our special evening. They even put your picture in a frame & sell it for $20. Normally, we wouldn't consider it but it was a special occasion. HUGE props to our server Abby, she was just perfection. She was so sweet and very helpful in her descriptions and recommendations. The empanadas were incredible and that dipping sauce... drool. The little dulce de leche cookies were delicious too. At the end of the meal, the manager came over and offered us a shot of what I believe was cinnamon infused pisco. I think it put hair on my chest but was pretty tasty. A friend and I went to Pisco Peruvian for dinner and had a wonderful experience. We sat on their garden patio which was decorated beautifully with greenery hanging from the ceiling and large ornate mirrors. We sat in a big round booth which was spacious and comfy. Service was wonderful, our server was friendly and answered all of our silly questions and didn't laugh at us when we butchered the words of the ingredients in dishes. She checked on us often and provided suggestions to make sure we got plates we would enjoy. The cocktail menu.....wow! It was so beautiful visually and the drinks came out looking just like the photos! They tasted great too! It's apparent that time and care went into every decision on this menu. As for food, we started with the croquettes. They came four to an order and it was the perfect amount of food to hold us over until our entrees came. Our entrees came out and we were both surprised by the portions! I got the Chaufa Charapa and it came in a beautiful stone bowl. The portion was huge, it just kept going and going! My friend got salmon and it was the biggest piece of salmon i've seen served at a restaurant. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and had leftovers to take home. Our server, Mauricio, was so pleasant and fast. He had excellent customer service-- kind but not overbearing, really helpful, and had great recommendations. We got the seasonal Grinch cocktail-- watermelon, pineapple, Tito's, and passion fruit foam. It was delicious. I got the ribeye anticuchero with truffle fries. I have really never had a better steak in my life. So tender, PERFECTLY seasoned, and a great portion. Same for the fries. My husband got their poke bowl. He asked for cream cheese on the side and then realized the bowl had little fried balls of cream cheese which every single poke place should do always. It was such a great touch. For dessert, we got the chocolucuma, which had a brownie base but a Peruvian fruit (that tastes like coffee) encased in chocolate. While we were enjoying that, we chatted with the bartender who gave us tips on making foam at home and let us try some he had made. We left feeling full, slightly buzzed, and VERY well taken care of. TLDR: Great food marred by slow/lousy service. Chic environment with both indoor and outdoor seating. FOOD: I really enjoyed the food. I ordered the hummus (came with fried wontons to dip in the hummus instead of traditional vegetables or bread), vegetarian sushi & side of tostones. The food is VERY pricey for Lake Mary and Central Florida. The only thing I would change is adding a sauce with the side of tostones. It felt like it was missing something. SERVICE: The service was awful. They were nice enough, but the whole service was slow. We arrived at 12:15, and we were there until 2:15 pm during lunch on a Wednesday. They chalked it up to a large table of 10-12 people, but the large group (sitting next to us) got their entrees very early in our time at the table - before we had already ordered. The server spilled small puddles of water all over the table and didn't come back to clean it up. I ended up using a napkin to clean it up. Our appetizers came out quickly, but the entrees took forever. They apologized and offered dessert. We were a party of 5, and they expected us to share one dessert as a recovery for the disastrous service. That took even longer to get the dessert and then the check. The check could have been presented sooner, but instead, the server was putting tables back together and singing happy birthday to another table. We had to flag them down - just a prioritization issue. Would I go back? Absolutely not. What a shame. The food was great, but it wasn't worth the headache that came from it. read more

This Peruvian restaurant is absolutely amazing! They're serving bold flavors and delicious creations! The crispy rice is an awesome starter. The smoked salmon gives it a depth of flavor that contrasts well with the avocado mousse and cream cheese. I especially liked the chaufa de pato ahumado since the smoked duck was so juicy and flavorful on the fried rice - highly recommend this dish. The fried snapper was beautifully crispy, but I feel needs an acidic sauce on the side as the fish wasn't seasoned much. The yucca fries were so crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside - perfection. I will definitely be coming back to this place! The food was really good but I didn't like the business model that there were so many up charges since the food is already expensive on its own. For example, we ordered an appetizer of dip with chips. Other restaurants give chips refills for free but there were only a few chips included and we didn't know a refill would cost $5. Our server told us the 2nd time we asked for a refill and the refill wasn't even a lot of chips. The ambiance is really nice and upscale but the underlying penny-pinching business model seems like a mismatch for the vibe of the place. Also, when we went in the restaurant wasn't even a quarter full but they wanted to seat us outside which had bugs. We had to insist for us to be seated inside. The lady said there were reservations made so I gave them grace but the restaurant remained pretty bare for about the next hour. Then there was a photographer taking pictures of tables and he only went to certain tables- he didn't go to ours. It was a good first try but my family and I likely won't eat there again. read more

I would give a million stars if I could. It's been so long since I've had an absolutely perfect experience out. From the second we walked in, til we walked out, it was absolute perfection. Marcos and Simon made the evening so special. Every single person on the wait staff engaged and were incredibly friendly. The ambiance, cocktails, appetizers, entrees, dessert.. just perfect. This was my first time trying a Peruvian restaurant. I went with a group of friends one of which recommended the place. The restaurant is nicely decorated and gives the vibe of classier than casual dining but not quite upscale. Tables are pretty close together. If it's busy you're likely to be back to back or elbow to elbow with those dining near you. Every employee we interacted with was very nice. We had a few small issues (wrong cocktail, mixup with food, etc) that were corrected after we brought them up. We all ordered the 16oz ribeye based on the friend's recommendation. I enjoyed mine. I should have taken the full recommendation and got extra butter. It definitely enhanced the flavor of the steak. Unfortunately two of the steaks came out well done. The staff apologized and cooked new ones. My friends were understanding and all was well. The manager gave the table a round of shots for the inconvenience. I don't feel right rating the Peruvian restaurant based on steak and plantains. read more

Chicken croquetas..like the taste but not the fan of one of the sauces the put underneath. Sauces should be put on the side so the "croqueta" doesn't get mushy. My friends tried other dishes as well. There was some live entertainment while we were there, it was nice. Be aware that they will add a tip automatically to the tab and won't tell you. We stopped into Pisco after a long drive from North Carolina, looking for something quick and local. We've been a few times before, and the food has always been great. This visit was no exception -- the food was genuinely excellent. That said, the business model is starting to feel aggressive. Every interaction is an upsell opportunity, and you quickly realize you're on high alert the entire meal, almost battling the server at every turn just to avoid quietly running up the bill. It starts the moment you sit down: "Is bottled water okay?" -- which, of course, is an upcharge. When we ordered Pisco Sours, instead of just bringing the standard version, the server recommended the Peruvian one, about $5 more. For starters, my wife wanted a chicken dish, but the server suggested a beef dish, mentioning it could be made with chicken instead. The catch: there was no price reduction for swapping to chicken, leaving us paying $12 more than the original chicken dish would have cost. I had the Lomo Saltado, which was fantastic, and asked for fries instead of the yellow potatoes. I don't mind an upcharge -- but it would have been nice to be told upfront. A simple "there's a small upcharge for that" would have been fine. They also take photos of you at the table, which is pleasant enough on its own, but by then you're conditioned to wonder what it's going to cost. When the check arrived, an 18% gratuity had already been added, with the option to tip more on top. We declined to add extra. The food really is excellent, and we may go back for that reason alone. But be prepared to stay on your toes -- every choice seems designed to nudge the bill higher, and you'll spend the meal defending your wallet rather than relaxing into it. read more

Came here to meet our couple friends for dinner on a Saturday 5:45 reservation. It wasn't busy yet so we were seated right away. The ambiance is so nice inside. It's tastefully decorated. They have plenty of tables inside and out. Their cocktails are tasty, but pricey, average $20/drink. The old fashioned was very good. They use McCallan whiskey, it was well balanced with the mix. The dishes we ordered were all good, no complaints. Service was good. The only reason for less star is the price for what you get and the annoying flashing of the photographer going around the table. Yes, they have a photographer asking if you want photos taken. We politely declined, but the other nearby tables did and the flash was like a strobe light every time a picture is taken. It almost giving us a headache not to mention the shutter of the camera. It's definitely a place to celebrate not a regular dinner destination. read more

We visited with some Peruvian friends the other week. The food was very good. Our party ordered a nice variety of dishes and everyone for the most part enjoyed what they ordered. My one son wasn't that big of a fan of a sushi roll he gave, but he was expecting more of a Japanese style sushi roll flavor- these are very different and unique. The seafood tasted fresh. We really enjoyed snacking on the fried corn while waiting on the meal. Our waitress was great. She was helpful and gave great recommendations -especially letting us know her favorite desserts (for our next visit! We were so stuffed). Peruvian food is our absolute favorite, and this place truly did it justice! We started with the papas nativas, perfectly seasoned native potatoes with a creamy guac and cayena sauce that blew us away. Then we shared a ceviche clásico that tasted incredibly fresh, with the spice thoughtfully served on the side, a great touch! For entrees, we had the wagyu saltado with jasmine rice and tostones, crispy, flavorful, and super satisfying. I had the risotto a la huancaina, which was rich, creamy, and perfectly cooked. And for dessert I don't remember the name, but it was so delicious, creamy, not overly sweet, just the perfect finish. On top of the amazing food, the service was fantastic. Gabriela, our server, was absolutely wonderful, warm, attentive, and made great recommendations throughout the evening. We absolutely adored our experience. Incredible food, great vibes, and outstanding service. We'll definitely be back! read more

First time coming here. It's such a cute and nicely decorated restaurant, I love the atmosphere. The waitress was so nice so great customer service can't complain about that. My biggest issue was the food. The meat was good and cooked well but the chicken was not. It had no flavor and just dry. The yuca fries wasn't even crispy still needed to be cooked. The sweet plantains were better. The best part was actually the sangria the drinks were good haha. read more
