Went to this place for the first time. The wait staff was very nice, welcoming, and sweet. I ordered the pho. The broth itself wasn't bad. The frozen meat was still frozen! The broth was not enough to cook it. It also tasted freezer burned. I could not eat it. The chili oil that is on the table tasted overdue? It was not good. I shouldn't have added it to the pho because it made the whole dish taste terrible. I really tried to eat the pho or just drink the broth but it was so bad. To my knowledge, this is the first Vietnamese restaurant in Spartanburg. It's a small place located in a plaza off Reidville Road. I've gotten food to go usually and have dined in once. The service when dining in wasn't very spectacular but I didn't expect it to be. I've had the beef pho which was good - we did not want to make authentic pho at home so this was a quick fix that left me satisfied. I've also gotten the chicken pad thai here which was different compared to other restaurants. I recall broccoli and carrots being in there and those aren't usually in pad thai BUT they do list the mixed veggies that will be tossed in so I wasn't caught off guard. It was not the best pad thai I've had but it was okay. If you're looking for a sort of quick Asian food and don't want to get typical Chinese take-out, this would be a good option. read more

Every table has chili oil, fish sauce, etc. (True pho lovers appreciate that) I've been here ALOT and the food is consistently fresh, fast and delicious. The fried spring rolls are in house made and you can TASTE the difference. They always come out super hot, so pro tip: cut them in half to help cool down. The staff is always so accommodating, thoughtful and friendly. Now you are probably wondering why only two stars. The place is filthy dirty. The floor doesn't look like it had been mopped in six months to a year. The bathroom had dirt on the floor, walls and door. The light switch in the bathroom was nasty with dirt and grime. It's really sad that with good food and excellent service that they couldn't take some cleaning supplies and a mop to make the place nice. My brother and I thought to try this establishment. What a mistake! We should've walked out before our order was sent through. Dirty condiments, bathroom, chairs, and terrible service and food. The host had no pleasantry whatsoever and upon asking for a fork - he picked a couple of forks up with his hands on the fork tip side. May not seem to be a big deal, but he just cleared table with dirty plates and dirty napkins. Again, the host had no personality and when we paid, he firmly turned the iPad around and tapped/pointed at the 20% Tip option - without saying a word. The Pho was okay, but the Pork Bahn-Mi I ordered wasn't fully cooked and very chewy like eating rubberbands. AND it stated on their menu that Bahn-Mi includes the tasteful Liver Pate, but they skipped that Pate on mine. In brief, it surprises me that some reviews of this venue was good. It was TERRIBLE! Highly NOT recommended and DIRTY! Never going back again. A wasted Saturday night meal, just before Xmas Eve holiday. A simple smile and welcome might have boosted this rating another star. This is the best Vietnamese food I've had in a long time! The spring rolls were packed with vegetables and herbs and not just a lot of noodles which is the case in some other places. I had a noodle bowl and my friend had the spicy noodle soup with beef. Both were delicious. The service was great and they had outside dining which is a must in these days of Covid-19. My mom and I got the oxtail Pho, it was very light and flavorful, very fragrant and the Pho flavor is stronger than a lot of the Pho's place we tried in LA and OC area. I was soooo surprised to find this little place in Spartanburg SC. I moved here a little over a year ago and my Vietnamese choices have been limited and usually required an hour or so drive to a bigger city. The menu covers most of what you expect to find with the addition of bahn bao and a few other hard to find treats. The waitress was very friendly and answered all of my questions ( there were many) she also let me know that they will be adding a few new dishes. We ordered pho beef combo - it comes with a generous portion of steak, brisket, meatball, tendon and tripe. The broth was good and the noodle to broth ratio was spot on. We also order a Bahn Mi with roasted pork.- the bread was good and the filling was ample and taste but the shinning star was the egg butter. I was told it is made in house. What a relief to find this wonderful food after a long day of traveling! Service was quick and friendly. And my gosh! The veggie pho with vegan broth was flavorful and packed with vibrant veggies. Portions were also plentiful and the server gave us excellent instructions on how to handle the dish as a take out food (mostly adding the noodles to the broth as needed rather than adding the whole lot and winding up with a huge mass of sodden noodles). So I have a side hustle doing magic tricks. My best ones are the "Now you see it. Now you don't." kind of tricks. And I've performed it only twice at this restaurant as I live in Charlotte.
