However, I ordered a Tony's NYC 10" pie for lunch. And I added mushrooms. Thought I would take 1/2 of it home. It was so good, I truly ate the whole thing. Yes, I made a little piggy of myself, and I don't care! It was excellent. I do believe they have a full bar .. it was early so we just had soft drinks. Actually my friend had a mocktail, so there must be a bar. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I like that the outdoor seating is fenced in so you don't have to see the traffic on both sides of the street. The service was excellent. My friend enjoyed a salad (although I did force a tiny piece of pizza on her, glad she didn't want more .. LOL. Honestly, I wanted to go to Dough, Sauce, Cheese that just opened a few blocks away. They claim they are NY style pizza. However, I learned that it's really a take out place. Only seating is one table outside .. in the sun. Maybe I'll take some out at a later date. But I am glad I went to DOPO and I will definitely go again.

I have a great appreciation for the simple, yet varied menu that also provides multiple vegetarian options for my partner. This time around we went with the Cherrypicker, the Verde, and the Brasare. The Verde without chicken came very close to filling the hole that has been left in our heart with the Grasshopper not on the menu currently. The Cherrypicker is one of our go to hits and never disappoints. And this was the first time I've tried the Brasare and the classic combo of pork and apple was delectable. Colleen is our favorite server in the world and we are so happy to have her every time we swing by for dinner. She is a pleasure to be around and elevates the whole experience.

I opted for the following food items: * Bowl of Minestrone Soup ($7.50): a hearty vegetable soup with a tomato-based broth. Served with house-made bread. * Vegetable Lasagna ($17.50): Prepared with layers of pasta sheets, béchamel, ricotta, spinach, zucchini, mushrooms, marinara sauce, parmesan, and mozzarella. Served with house-made bread. First and foremost, I experienced satisfaction with every bite of the food. The soup was so warm and comforting with the fresh vegetables. The bread was a nice complement to soak up the tomato broth. The Lasagna was absolutely delicious. The portion of the slice was generously huge, and the taste was on point, especially with the personal request of extra marinara sauce (I always love extra sauce on pastas in general). The hospitality from all staff members was so amiable and attentive. They ensured that I had everything I needed during the dining experience. For both my soup and pasta, I was given the topping of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. The interior of the restaurant was small, yet cozy, with a welcoming feel for families. The Italian-themed decor was a beautiful touch to the restaurant. The inside of the restroom was clean. Lastly, the lunch menu offered affordable prices. Overall, La Cucina Italian Eatery exceeded expectations in my book! From the filling portions of food to the spectacularly kind service, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. I'll be returning whenever I am in the Reno, NV area again.

I really like their patio. It's very small and very pleasant. Shortly after we were seated, our server arrived. She told us the daily specials and gave us a few minutes to look at the menu. She returned shortly thereafter, and took our orders. I appreciate the fact that not only did she let us split salads, she told us she would bring the salads before our entrées arrived. I've been to several restaurants lately that bring the salad at the same time they bring the entrée. I'm not a fan of that because as I'm eating my salad, my dinner is getting cold. My husband and I shared a Cashell salad. It was the perfect size. The lettuce was crisp and fresh and the salad was full of cranberries and nuts. The dressing was delicious. After we were done with our salads, our server cleared our plates and our dinners arrived shortly thereafter. I had the baked rigatoni in Bolognese sauce. It was delicious. It was piping hot, the sauce was robust, the ricotta cheese was delightful, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. It was such a large portion. I only ate half. For dessert, I had the Italian wedding cake. It's one of my favorite desserts in town and I wasn't disappointed. The cake was fresh and the frosting was delicious. The four of us had an awesome experience at La Cucina. I will definitely go back.

The décor feels like an old Italian restaurant, complete with beautiful columns and classic details that make the space feel warm and authentic. We started with a couple appetizers: the eggplant parmigiana and the focaccia di recco. The focaccia was outstanding--stuffed with cheese and prosciutto and served with a fig jam that reminded me of apple butter. Absolutely delicious and something I'd order again. The eggplant parmigiana was just okay--it lacked seasoning and could have used more flavor. They also brought garlic butter for the table, which was a nice touch. Our server, Christina, was fantastic. She recommended a wonderful wine within our preferred price point, and everyone at the table really enjoyed it. For entrees, everyone ordered something different and all were very happy with their meals--even our picky eater, who ordered Uncle Willie's ravioli and ended up taking leftovers home! We also had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp (the shrimp were impressively large--think upscale steakhouse cocktail shrimp size), baked ziti, bucatini carbonara, and I had the linguine and clams. I appreciated that they gave me the option of white wine sauce or red sauce. Once I removed all the clams from the shells and mixed everything into the broth, the flavor really came alive. Overall, a very enjoyable dinner with great service and delicious food. We would definitely return--and would absolutely ask for Christina again.

They don't open till 5 PM and although it was a last minute call for reservations, the stars aligned & they were able to accommodate us for an early dinner time slot on a Saturday, Johnny's is definitely a favorite among our native reno Italian family who appreciates good Italian food. The usuals were ordered by most of the table - the calamari appetizer and garlic bread, then the special lasagna. The Lasagna hold a special place in my family's heart & is usually only what's ordered as it's considered the best in Reno by my family. It did not disappoint this night. I opted for a lighter dish and went with the brown butter, sage ravioli -it was just as I expected and the Petrale soul was another lighter dish that was ordered and it came out fresh and delicious. The Caesar salad as well as their house salad with the Gorgonzola and Italian dressing, minestrone soup we also had- all fresh and homemade flavors. The only Con to this trip was that we didn't get the extra plain bread that we ordered or asked for a few times and I'm a little uncertain if they give bread with the meal or you have to order the garlic bread -either way it was not a downfall. The sundae desserts were wonderful and they recognized the birthday in our party. We love this place and like to frequent it. Can't wait for the next great meal there.

Today's appetizers, all of which were really good: Meatballs - Huge, more than enough to share! Even with 7 of us. We all got a bite. Calamari - Fried well, decent portions. I think I ate most of this dish. Love me some calamari! Toasted Focaccia Bruschetta - Hit for our group. I enjoyed it also, but the calamari was still my favorite. Complimentary Bread - So good!! Always a favorite. We always have to get seconds. If you want 3rds, it comes with a $4 upcharge, but that is still worth it in my book. House Salads - Nothing special, but also not bad. Fresh, decent quantity, and with dressing on the side. Two Cesar Salads - Our guests enjoyed this. $5 upcharge each. Cups of Minestrone Soups - Good. Cup of Egg Drop Soup - One of our guests wanted to try this; $5 upcharge. Linguine & Clams - Both in white and red sauce. My choice was the red sauce. I kept forgetting that this comes with BABY clams as I prefer larger clams, and actually if it was still in the shell, that would be an extra plus. NOTE to self, do not keep getting this... Eggplant Parmigiana - Home run, both ladies that got this loved it! Huge slices of eggplant. Baked and fried well. Eggplant Parmigiana with Grilled Chicken - WOW, generous portions. I think my wife took ¾ of her dish home... She got another two meals out of it. Sauteed Calamari Steak - This looked good, I might get it next time. Our newest addition to our group. She also took half her entree home. Grilled Prawn Picatta - Not a large quantity, but because all of us (except one) are light eaters, our guest still took half home. Another good entree. I will also add this to my list for next time. Special Chicken Pomodoro - Decent portions, my buddy devoured this. He is a good eater. One of the few in our group, lol. Dessert, Tiramisu - This was really good. We should have ordered a second one... And to wash it all down, I got a glass of Italian white wine which I really did not enjoy... Atmosphere - Double storefront. We seemed to always end up sitting in the second room but not today! I liked that they had a bar in each room. Table, booth, or bar seating. Two unisex restrooms. Plenty of parking. See pictures for business hours. Open 6 days a week; closed Mondays. Service - Good. We had a leisurely 2 hour dinner and never felt rushed. We were catching up with our good friends and new friends. Price - $323 + generous tips. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1990 as Davos; we have been customers for a very long time. Glad we are back and introducing our friends to your restaurant. Mid 1990 - Coco Pazzo, then renamed to Panevino. 2000 - Zozo's.

Both were fantastic, seasoned nicely and cooked to a perfect temperature!! For our entree we hate the BEE STING pizza. Make with a 72 Hour Fermented Organic Dough topped with Salami, red onion, basil, serranos, mozzarella and honey. The crust was delicious, crunchy, thin and when combined with the sauce, seasoning and toppings, an excellent pizza. Additionally we ordered two of the in-house, housemaid pasta. The ARRABBIATA , a roasted red pepper campanelle, with Calabrese sausage, garlic, chilis, broccolini and topped with Parmesan, pecorino. The other pasta we tried was the BLACK SPAGHETTI, mixed with clams, scallops, shrimp, hot chopped peppers, white wine, butter and lemon. It was fantastic!! Cooked al dente and packed with flavor.
