    Caprese salad
    Kelly G.

I came here for dinner on a weeknight and I really enjoyed it! The staff was friendly, the food was fresh and the Caprese salad was exactly what I wanted. There were a couple of birthdays being celebrated which made it a very festive atmosphere and a good place for group celebrations.

La Cucina Italian Eatery (Reno, NV): Vegetable Lasagna
    Savannah R.

I visited La Cucina Italian Eatery in Reno, NV [3600 Lakeside Dr] on Monday, 05/11/26, around 11:45 AM. Upon looking at the menu, I noticed that this restaurant offered lunch specials. I opted for the following food items: * Bowl of Minestrone Soup ($7.50): a hearty vegetable soup with a tomato-based broth. Served with house-made bread. * Vegetable Lasagna ($17.50): Prepared with layers of pasta sheets, béchamel, ricotta, spinach, zucchini, mushrooms, marinara sauce, parmesan, and mozzarella. Served with house-made bread. First and foremost, I experienced satisfaction with every bite of the food. The soup was so warm and comforting with the fresh vegetables. The bread was a nice complement to soak up the tomato broth. The Lasagna was absolutely delicious. The portion of the slice was generously huge, and the taste was on point, especially with the personal request of extra marinara sauce (I always love extra sauce on pastas in general). The hospitality from all staff members was so amiable and attentive. They ensured that I had everything I needed during the dining experience. For both my soup and pasta, I was given the topping of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. The interior of the restaurant was small, yet cozy, with a welcoming feel for families. The Italian-themed decor was a beautiful touch to the restaurant. The inside of the restroom was clean. Lastly, the lunch menu offered affordable prices. Overall, La Cucina Italian Eatery exceeded expectations in my book! From the filling portions of food to the spectacularly kind service, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. I'll be returning whenever I am in the Reno, NV area again.

A half portion of the Cashell salad

Four of us had dinner here on a Saturday night. The weather was very nice so we sat out on the patio. It was a very nice experience. We had reservations so we were promptly seated. I really like their patio. It's very small and very pleasant. Shortly after we were seated, our server arrived. She told us the daily specials and gave us a few minutes to look at the menu. She returned shortly thereafter, and took our orders. I appreciate the fact that not only did she let us split salads, she told us she would bring the salads before our entrées arrived. I've been to several restaurants lately that bring the salad at the same time they bring the entrée. I'm not a fan of that because as I'm eating my salad, my dinner is getting cold. My husband and I shared a Cashell salad. It was the perfect size. The lettuce was crisp and fresh and the salad was full of cranberries and nuts. The dressing was delicious. After we were done with our salads, our server cleared our plates and our dinners arrived shortly thereafter. I had the baked rigatoni in Bolognese sauce. It was delicious. It was piping hot, the sauce was robust, the ricotta cheese was delightful, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. It was such a large portion. I only ate half. For dessert, I had the Italian wedding cake. It's one of my favorite desserts in town and I wasn't disappointed. The cake was fresh and the frosting was delicious. The four of us had an awesome experience at La Cucina. I will definitely go back.

Fettuccine Alfredo Pasta with blackened chicken
    Katie L.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Reno! I've been here several times, and I always end up ordering the Alfredo with blackened chicken. It's hands down the best blackened chicken I've ever had. The seasoning is incredible, and the chicken is always cooked perfectly. The tiramisu is another standout; it practically melts in your mouth. Every time I've dined in, the service has been friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.

Went to La Cucina for my bestie's birthday dinner and everything was great as always! Our server was kind and our food came out quickly. I got the rigatoni Isabella and a side Caesar. The past was delicious--super flavorful and well balanced. It is on the rich side so I had a lot of leftovers! The Caesar had crisp lettuce and the dressing was very light and tasty. Highly recommend this cute spot for a girls night or date night!

What a great place for a good Italian lunch. The ambience was nice and staff was amazing. When I am back in Reno I will definitely come back again.

    Baked Rigatoni Pasta

Came in around 3pm and it was pretty empty, looked like some staff training was going on, but we barely got checked on which was kind of disappointing. Started with garlic bread and a calamari steak. Garlic bread was a little too crispy and slightly blackened for me and definitely needed some sauce. BUT the calamari steak?? soooo good. I could've eaten that as my full meal. We ordered the baked rigatoni and chicken parm. The chicken parm with the cheese was sooo good and the pasta had a lot of garlic but honestly it worked. The rigatoni was super cheesy and comforting. Also the bread they give you is amazing, I would love a sandwich on that. Finished with tiramisu and that was easily the best part of the meal. Would come back for the food for sure and just hoping the service was an off day.

    Porcini & Truffle Ravioli Pasta

I've been to La Cucina a few times and it's a solid staple I always go back to. This past Saturday night, the vibe was pretty loud, between the sports on TV and the crowded place, it was hard to hear people in my group. Next time, I'll definitely ask to sit outside. The staff was attentive, though sometimes a bit rushed, which makes sense given how busy it was. I'm not sure if they usually offer specials, but if they had any that night, they didn't mention them. The food was good as always. I got the porcini mushroom ravioli and the sauce was excellent. Someone in my group had the blackened chicken Alfredo it was tasty, but the heavy seasoning on the chicken ended up overpowering the sauce. Another pick was the pineapple pizza, which was very cheesy and hit the spot. Overall, La Cucina stays one of my top three go-to Italian spots in Reno. The food is always satisfying, and despite a few small issues, it still keeps me coming back.

This is the "chicken marsala" I ordered that they forgot and made quickly.

We went to dinner here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. They were a little busy and we had to wait for our table. No big deal. After about 5 minutes, we were seated. We were served water and bread pretty quickly but no server for 15 minutes. The manager came to take our orders and was apologetic. I'm not sure how much time had gone by but it was a hefty wait. All meals came out but my chicken marsala. The food runner asked if I had ordered anything. At this point, it had been so long I don't even remember what I ordered. Ten minutes later, my dinner arrives and it looks awful. The chicken looked like it had been beaten by a hammer. See the photo below. The manager/server never apologized or offered a new meal. She just continues to avoid us. The reviews of awful service are true. At least the rest of the family enjoyed their dinner. We will be avoiding this place. It's not worth the money or being ignored.

Great lunch here today with friend. They opened at 11, reservations at 1130 so got right in. Not busy yet so chose our seat. We've been here several times in the past and enjoy the menu variety. Ordered half sandwich and salad combo which is always the perfect amount. Today I ordered the Italian BLT which came on sourdough and came with an abundance of bacon, lettuce, tomato with melted fontina cheese and a pesto spread. Very good! Cesar salad tossed in dressing with croutons finished off the meal. We enjoyed a chilled Italian Pinot Grigio that was nice and not sweet. The decor here is very nice and service was good today. Gluten free pasta is available on their menu here also. Prices reasonable, won't break the bank.

The food was absolutely AMAZING. Second time I've eaten here and it never disappoints. Came here for my hubby's birthday with his family and they all loved it too. Service was great as well. We went around 3 o'clock and there was almost no one there. Glad we came before the dinner rush because there were a LOT of tables already reserved. Only complaint I have is that the food took quite awhile to arrive but overall it was a nice dining experience. The music was nice AND they were playing sports on all of the tv's so that was really nice for my hubby, his dad and his brother. Will be coming back for sure!

Poop soup the no flavor spicy sausage whatever

Not really a review kind of guy. But ive ate here twice now and both times i feel like i got ripped off. Wouldnt eat here again. $35 for chicken parm and bowl of soup. Could of made this chicken parm at home with better ingredients. Taste like prison food. Soup was spicy sausage whatever, it tasted like it was made at parr (jail food). For $35 i did not fill up and feel really disappointed in this place. Not sure who eats there but if you do, your being ripped off. Just go to Marios. And like i said i never usually do yelps cause i dont care to ruin a restaurant, but enough is enough either they change or it gets removed. Temu type talian

Yes again every year it's my birthday I come here every year and the fettuccine Alfredo is great every time! My sister came here for the first time. She thought the BBJs bbq had good Alfredo this is the best in town. Service was great I showed up a little late, she didn't mind came out with my drink, and gave us more bread. She got our order in as soon as I got there very attentive loved her. Asked us for dessert and dressed it in a candle how lovely. Perfect lunch in at my favorite restaurant!

We were immediately impressed with the ambiance and our server who was super friendly as well as knowledgeable about the menu. She made great recommendations, let us taste the wine to ensure it was a good fit for us, and made sure we were taken care of. The pizza is an Italian style with thin crust that is less cooked than a typical American thin-crust pizza. All the ingredients were fresh and the menu was obviously crafted with care. We tried the Cherry Picker and the Espana which were both unique combinations that were well balanced and flavorful. To drink we tried the Lambrusco, a fruity but not sweet sparkling red wine, and the Hugo spritz which was very well executed. For dessert we had the Cioccolato Budino which was a dense, creamy and rich mousse covered in caramel chocolate cookie crumbs and homemade whipped cream. My only complaint is that I shared instead of getting my own.

It's clear they focus on quality from the dough to the sauce to the cheese to the toppings and they put in a healthy dose of passion, fun and love too. It's been a minute since I've stopped at this place but western lights festival brought me downtown and this was part of my plan from the go. I was excited to see that they added woodfired chicken wings, one of my personal favorite dishes anywhere and had to order them and these is absolutely did not disappoint and I'll be back for them again and again. Sometimes it's tough to get a really good crispy chicken wing out of a woodfired oven but this team nailed it in there, buffalo Parmesan sauce was divine, especially with a little bit of the house made ranch. The pizzas were also good, but I didn't like that. They served them in paper takeout boxes because even the short trip from the cutting table to us in that box steamed the pizza and made it super floppy. Toppings were sliding right off the pepperoni pizza we had and it just wasn't the best pizza experience Of the white pizza we tried with spinach and roasted garlic was awesome. I don't wanna held up a little better maybe because it didn't have sauce and the roasted garlic was perfect. We grabbed food from the Pizza Collective. The wood fired wings, a pizza, the roasted cauliflower, and a glass of wine came to about $70. A bit on the high end but the portions were good. Props to the wine pours, you definitely get your money worth on that. The highlight was the wood fired wings. While not even remotely crispy, they had an interesting wood fired flavor and the buffalo sauce was very tasty. I enjoyed how tender they are and didn't miss the crispiness because the tenderness was on point. The pizza was good, but the dough was slightly undercooked in places. Wood fired ovens can be tricky and it seemed like it got the best of them today. The service was friendly. Everything came out fairly quick except for the cauliflower. They told us it would take awhile, but we ended up being finished with nearly everything else before they got the cauliflower out. West Street Market is a cool space to hang inside or out. I did notice a more run down vibe than in the past, but its still a comfortable place to enjoy some grub and drinks with good company. Give the Pizza Collective a try if your at West Street Market anyway. They have lots of good choices, including vegan options. But keep in mind there are other options. Doing some mix and match might be your best bet here.
