Prosciutto and pea salad
Donna H.

Great bar crowd, but not night club ish. The food was delicious also. My favorite was the prosciutto and pea salad. So different and fresh. Pizza was great also.

Black Cod Livornese
Andrew R.

We ate here with 14 members of the Santa Fe Foodies, the first time for my wife and me. The food ranged from good but not spectacular to unremarkable. My wife and I split the Black Cod Livornese, which came with Broccolini instead of the potatoes the menu indicated. The cod was nice and well-cooked, but the broccolini was tough and a bit rubbery. The sauce for the fish was stewed cherry tomatoes, wine, garlic, capers, and olives, and it was nice, if not a tad bland. We split a large Caesar salad, and it was really bland. The romaine was nice and fresh, but the dressing? If it had anchovy or garlic anywhere, we missed it. Quite unremarkable in flavor. We finished with the Tiramisu, which was nice, but hardly the best in class for Santa Fe. Lovely to look at, again. If there were liqueurs like rum or Marsala wine, everything would have been a bit overpowered by the unsweetened cocoa powder. Certainly not bad, but nothing special. Now the service was outstanding! Our server, Jose M, did a fantastic job serving the 14 of us. All the food arrived at once, all as requested. The prices are mid-level but reasonable for this type of restaurant, but overall, we left just a bit underwhelmed by the food's flavor.

Vegetarian lasagna

We enjoyed a perfect lunch at Piazza Caffe. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasty, hand crafted grissini (breadsticks), the warm, buttery focaccia with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, the vegetarian lasagna with spinach broad noodles, and tiramisu. The dining room has tables and plush booths. The ambience is relaxed and chic. The service is very attentive and friendly. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality and ample servings. Everything was perfect. Well worth the drive to the south end of town.

My delicious Negroni
Will A.

I have seen some of the negative reviews posted and I can only offer the explanation that those MUST have been simple growing pains for a new restaurant. We had a WONDEFUL experience and I am hard to please. My wife, who studied in Italy and craves the authentic cuisine and fresh made pasta really insisted we give them a try. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. We started with cocktails, a couple of different Negroni variations (the menu has an entire list of wonderful, authentic and imaginative spins on this classic cocktail). We followed with one of the better Caesar Salads I can remember eating. The dressing was anchovy forward in a very good way, with delicate piles of Parmesan on top and house made croutons. Our server was nervous at first, greeting our table with a shy, "you have made decisions?" but quickly grew personable and friendly, joking with my wife and I by the end. He could maybe use a little more training, but honestly, I loved him. He is going to be great with more experience. My wife loved her Cacio e Pepe, a simple but subtly complex dish that is hard to pull off well. The kitchen clearly knows what they are doing. The fresh, handmade Pasta and simple but perfectly chosen ingredients made this dish. My Eggplant Parmigiana was delicious, arriving in a molten hot serving dish covered lightly in glorious melted cheese. I'm very picky about the preparation of eggplant and clearly the kitchen is as well. It was very rich, so I got full about halfway through. It could have maybe used a side of pasta to cut the richness. Otherwise, perfection. If you remember Rustica, you know the ambiance is a kind of professional casual. Wooden table tops and tiled floors keep this a more family style affair, though if they'd wanted to, they could have chosen to go even higher end with white table clothes, the food is that good. I'm glad they kept it family casual and friendly. The landscaping is even gorgeous with the roses and other flowers all in full bloom. Do not sleep on this place! The negative reviews were very early on and I can understand them. It is hard to realize a full vision, but Piazza has one and they seem to really be hitting their stride.

I really wanted to like it. Calamari was good minus the sauce that was way too thick. Got regular spaghetti with meatballs (14 upcharge for meatballs) and it was inedible. I tried to take home and add some cheese but its bitter and meatballs and so fatty. I do want to say our server, I believe her name is Davinity or Divina, was amazing. Very attentive, very friendly, and super knowledgeable about the menu. I was very disappointed spending 50 bucks. I understood its still a new spot so hopefully things are worked out in time.

The outdoor patio

What a welcome addition to southern Santa Fe! If you're looking for an American version of Italian food, this restaurant may not be your preference. It has an authentic Italian menu. The spaghetti pomodoro, pork Milanese with roasted potatoes, and green salad take me back to a recent trip to Tuscany. I also tried their brunch menu on the outdoor patio one morning and the bacon fritatta and French toast were a breath of fresh air compared to the standard breakfast fare up and down Cerrillos Rd. Bravo to the chef and staff for this special local restaurant!

The interior is crazy, so many small rooms and different floors and each room has different coloring and decor. So unique. Felt like everywhere we walked you wouldn't know what to expect next and it was shockingly huge inside! We ordered a round of their house margarita which was delicious, a little on the tasted like mix instead of fresh side, but still good. I had the classic posole soup and tamales. The posole had a kick to it and I handle spice well so keep that in mind! That said it was delicious, very classic Southwest flavor. Tamales were also yummy. If you're looking for the classic Santa Fe food experience I'd say this is the place to go! And you truly can't beat the cost, for a table of four we were shocked at how low the cost was. Will be back!

Christina who is the wine snob was nice as well as Tatiana who clear plates. When our waitress came to take our order, I had to ask for the drink menu and she only brought one in which I gave it to my husband to look over. When she came around to ask what we wanted, she was standing there for what I wanted. I exclaimed, well you only brought one and needed to take turns. Joaquin also wasn't friendly bringing the bill. The price is $155 per head and the service was poor. They made several mistakes of giving the wrong plate and taking our drinks to two tables down. Please give your business to another restaurant.

Located in the Plaza off of San Francisco St., we didn't realize there was it's own parking lot that is shared with others around the corner (we parked at a public structure for 5 bucks 2 blocks away). This is an order at the counter establishment of which I do not care for, especially if it's pricey (which it was). We started off with the house salad for 7.50/ea and totally not worth it (just some lettuce tomatoes and dressing with a piece of bread). 2 of us had pizzas 1 a calzone and another pasta. Pizzas were ok, but a good size for one big appetite or to share otherwise. The calzone was HUGE but my friend did not care for it (vegetarian) as she said it had too much goat cheese and lacked flavor. My friend's pasta was just average. With a bottle of cab and 2 soft drinks, the price came to a pricey 120 bucks before tip (the servers do deliver your food and drinks to the table). Would I come back here? Probably not. I have had others word of mouth that also did not care for it.
