We have to say, Terracotta Wine Bistro was a wonderful find. Near downtown Santa Fe, this is an intimate, upscale casual bistro with a diverse wine menu, outstanding apps, salads, soups (particularly the French Onion soup and lobster bisque.) More treats await with entrees such as the pork schnitzel and flounder. If you're fortunate, as we were, your server will be Janet. Classy, warm, totally patron centered, and a great representation of the Terracotta culture. The whole experience was top notch and definitely a huge repeater for us next time in Santa Fe!

We were visiting Santa Fe for Labor Day weekend. When we first arrived, we were a bit disappointed to hear the new owners had not yet secured their liquor license so the "Wine Bistro" portion of the restaurant name wasn't being offered at the time. That disappointment was short-lived, however, when the octopus we ordered as an appetizer. I've sampled many different octopus dishes and have never been more impressed with the combination of savory ingredients. The meat of the octopus melted in our mouths. I ordered the duck breast and my wife ordered the scallops. Every dish included its own delectable mixture of flavors that just worked. Can't emphasize how much people need to flock to this restaurant to try their menu. I will definitely be back!

we always enjoy coming here. The food, the ambience and the service are always top-notch. Tonight's dinner was a tiny bit of a miss. onion soup was too salty for my pallet. The coating on the grouper was crisp on the top but a little soggy underneath. However, the fish was absolutely delectable. They will be closed for a while due to an ownership change and some remodeling. Can't wait till they reopen.

We ate outside on the shaded back patio. Our service was terrific, with two servers assigned to us. We had white wine in a chiller by our table. We loved the blossom appetizer and the ravioli entree. I really had no complaints at all. Noise level and ambiance were great. I had key lime pie for dessert. The presentation of the food was so nice I have attached photos!

When I arrived, I originally wanted to visit the restaurant, which was closed for the week due to a family emergency. So I presented to the open seating bar. Was ignored a long time. Got up to go to the bar and someone else stole my table. Took a long time to be acknowledged by the bar tender and finally made an order. Took quite a while to get it. Things got better when a bar seat opened up and I moved to the bar. But keep in mind, a different bar tender pretty much took over and kept my drinks flowing. That first bar tender could not hang, demonstrating poor time management skills and appeared to be moving slowly. The second bar tender, I think his name is Hector, really turned things around for me. I visited Secreto (another hotel based outfit, in the Hotel St. Francis) because they are supposed to be a "cocktail experience," boasting "garden to glass" cocktails. Dark wood and southwestern palate for decor. I had: Smoked sage margarita: flagship drink, smoked washed premium margarita (super herbal) Ghost ranch reverie: Tequila with peach, apricot shrub, lemon, seltzer, smoked rosemary (light, not too sweet, an "homage to the passionate artists of the southwest) Madonna of the Mesa: tequila blanco, pomegranate, mouth herbs, lemon, rose water (soft and balanced) Secret garden: basil infused gin gimlet with lime and chomilre infused honey. "Botanical crispiness meets honeyed serenity." I liked the basil, but the honey wasn't my thing. But a good cocktail. Again, drinks were good. On a Thursday afternoon, it was initially crowded and the initial service was terrible. But Hector saved the day.

We thoroughly enjoyed spending an hour here prior to dinner…read more 'The cocktails were inventive (lots of smoke and infusions) and the surroundings were pleasant. The waiters were continually bumping the back of my chair when they were delivering food to the table next to us. Other rooms didn't look as tight. The food made up for it. Food was delicious. My first ravioli had the most pumpkin in it and was so delicious. I kept expecting to have that same amount of pumpkin but the rest barely had any. My partner ordered the Steak Frites, which he enjoyed, but there were no veggies, which I always expect with a meal. I ordered the rack of lamb, with carrots, potatoes and turnips. Absolutely delicious and I had plenty of veggies to share. Last, we both ordered the apple crisp with cinnamon ice cream. Our waitress was friendly, checked on us periodically, poured wine when we needed it, and just made sure we had everything we needed. Great French restaurant.

Not because of the atmosphere. Not because of the location. Because of Katya. Katya is not my favorite bartender. She is my favorite human being. I've spent enough time in bars to know when someone is good at their job. Katya operates on an entirely different level. She can take what feels like sixteen orders at once, remember every single one, deliver them with absolute precision, keep the entire room moving, somehow do the math in her head, and still make every customer feel like they're the only person sitting at the bar. The basement bar itself is exactly what a great dive should be; a shithole. Heavy hobo stab vibes upon entry, including Katya. Smell: multiple buttholes farting at once. Climate control: sweaty patron dependent. Lighting: liability. TV: playing a rotation of trash 80s DVDs . If business schools were smart, they'd study her. If hospitality groups were smart, they'd clone her. If Santa Fe has any sense at all, they'll do whatever it takes to keep her exactly where she is. Cash only, so come prepared. And bring plenty of it, because she deserves every penny. Katya must be protected at all costs.

I started with what I thought was going to be a plain Caesar salad, but when it arrived, it was served like a sushi or lettuce wrap. It was very creative and tasty! It made it much more fun to eat than the average salad. It was rich and topped with anchovies, like a true Caesar salad. I then had the peppercorn Elk tenderloin. I asked it be served as the chef recommended, which is medium rare. I am sometimes wary of medium rare, but this tenderloin was DIVINE! It was so moist and bursting with flavor. I loved it. The cocktails were creative and just as enjoyable as the meal. Other options for dinner apps include: cornbread, ahi crudo, mussels, and bison carpaccio. Mains: scallops, pan roasted Branzino, toasted masa gnocchi, grilled Maine lobster tails, duck leg confit, and a pecan coffee rubbed prime flat iron. I'm sure all of them would be amazing. Reservations recommended. Please note that the rooftop bar does not take reservations and is not on the same system as the restaurant. Can't recommend this restaurant enough.
