I'm pretty new to the area and there must be better... The place has kids, literally young kids working the front end. Seemed completely clueless which is scary when it comes to food safety. The pizza was really greasy, I've eaten pizza in dozens of places in NJ, Some not so good - some great. This is pretty low tier, cheap cheese, some pies looked downright disgusting. The meal didn't agree with me at all.... Idk, it must be convenient for some people but I'm going to keep looking for a place that has it's act together and makes real pizza, this certainly is not a very good place in my opinion. read more

I used to go here weekly but that has since changed. The owners are friendly, service is slow. If you are only going for a slice of pizza then Id reccommend it. If you dont have patience, dont go. Food is good, not consistent. Take out is always wrong and that is why I stopped going. Too often Id get home and the meals are wrong. I ordered a pizza by phone and while I am a fan, the young lady that took my order was less than stellar! She confirmed the order twice on the phone. However, when I arrived my order was not correct. She offered to correct it, but that is the whole reason I called ahead. More mature staff with more attention to detail would be a great improvement. Grabbed a slice with peppers and onions for takeout. It was good - sauce was tasty and good amount of cheese. Crust could have been a little more toasted but not bad at all. A little too much oil but other than that, I enjoyed the slice. Place had quick service as well which was nice. I'll be going back to try out some other things on the menu! read more

I have to give this place 5 stars for the pizza. We've gotten pizza here well over 50 times since it has opened. Every once in awhile I get one here that I'm not as impressed with...like somebody changed the cheese or used too much salt, but I keep going back because it's still my favorite. I've eaten at at least 12 pizza places in a 10 mile radius, and I love this place the best. I get the plain cheese, Grandma's pizza, or Sofia's Eggplant Parmigiana pizza. Their Barbecue Chicken pizza and their Buffalo Chicken pizza are two of our favorites...no comparison anywhere else. Used to live in Somerset and looked forward to "pizza night" every week. I was really disappointed with the quality of the food I got. I've been coming here for years.. don't know if the kids are running the show. I had ordered a Margarita Pizza.. My god.. There was no trace of basil.. and mozzarella cheese looked like a thin deli size put on as an afterthought.. I paid $16.95.. that is not some small change . We work hard for our money and then we get this kind of food. Few weeks ago I had got eggplant parmesan.. what a disappointed. Has cheese become soooo expensive.. Looks like I'm paying big bugs for the dough and tomato sauce.. Really very..very disappointed in the quality of food. Next . I see a short guy with a moustache blowing at the pizza dough when he has it in the oven, most probably so it gets air.. I don't know how hygienic is that...????? Home cooking in a family atmosphere. We had baked lasagna, gnochhi with shrimp in a cream sauce, jalapena poppers for an appetizer along with some homemade chicken noodle soup. Loved everything and the owners came around joking with the customers and checking to make sure everything was ok. Friendly and helpful service too. You might find more gourmet Italian food elsewhere but the combination of good food and the friendly, family atmosphere is hard to beat. BYOB keeps the cost reasonable too. And we had plenty of leftovers to take home. They are closed Saturday night and Sunday, a real sign of a family business, some things are more important than money. They also make great cold subs for a great price. We've bought them a few times for picnics and parties. A neighbor recently bemoaned the lack of restaurants in the area, meaning places like TGI Friday's or Applebees or something like that. Personally I hope they never show up. I've had pizza all over the country so I'm pretty particular about the quality, and always pleasantly surprised when my expectations are exceeded. I stopped by one afternoon for a few slices and found the pizza quite good - crispy crust, tasty sauce. A few days later I had dinner with my wife in their small, but clean, dining room in the back of the shop. My wife had calzone and I had pasta - basic litmus tests of Southern Italian comfort food. Their pizza is excellent, however I need to call them out on their hours. They say they're open until 10 during the week. I called one time at 8:45 to order a pie and no one picked up. I called three more times, waiting 5 minutes in between each call. Still no answer. I figured they were deliberately not picking up the phone. Just last night I drove there and arrived at 9:15 to order a pie and the owner said they were done for the night. Door open, lights on. Incredibly obnoxious and makes me think twice about going there. It's not like I walked in 5 minutes to closing. I think they need to rethink how they close. 45 minutes before the posted time is kind of unacceptable. read more

Our favorite pizza in the area. Not too think or thin, tasty sauce and cheese and just the right amount of salt. Great white pies too. The food is okay not great. They employ younger kids that have no training in food handling. They have various pizzas on the counter to choose from. Unfortunately they take up all the counter space. So when the young staff is preparing pizza orders to go they put the cardboard pizza boxes on top of the pizza on the counter and think nothing of it. That will kill your appetite!!! The best Pizza / Italian option in Somerset (among 7-10 options). We love the young staff they have along with the owner, who I do not know personally but I do appreciate his walking around, checking on folks, talking about the food. It has an authentic feel. I really like their chicken francaise they do and they let me substitute broccoli with garlic for the pasta when I want. For a walk in establishment, the town really seems to support it as its always busy and we have really not had anything bad there. While on assignment in New Jersey, I found Piazza Orsillo. For 12 weeks I ate here 2 times a week. The staff is very friendly, the food in fantastic, the marinara sauce is like silk, not bitter, not sweet, just perfect. The pizza specially the specialty pizza that is like a margarita pizza, but with sliced garlic and olive oil, divine. The crust is crunchy. The owner Damiano is wonderful, you feel welcome and like eating in Italy. I wish them much success and will surely miss the staff and the food. Don't forget bring your own wine.
