I thought to take a break from my usual pizzeria and try this one and I immediately regretted it. I called for delivery and the lady who took my order was just rude and unfriendly but I figured, fine as long as I get my food. My food came and my spaghetti literally had no sauce on it and all the nooses were stuck together. Of course it tasted like sauce less spaghetti and I debated on whether I should just throw it away. I ordered garlic knots as well which were soggy and drenched in olive oil and were inedible so those went in the garbage unfortunately. Never ordering from here again I will stick with Lubrano's because I was so disappointed. read more

This place is always packed when I go there, but for good reason. I've only had a few types of pizza from there. I order by the slice from the counter, but everything I've had has been great. They have a minimum order when using a debit card. read more

When my family feels like a pizza night, this is our choice. Really enjoyed the buffalo chicken pizza! I have had many others (all good), but the buffalo chicken really stood out. This 5* rating is for but one aspect of their restaurant model. It's their Grandma's Pizza which is the best that I've tasted in all of NJ-----EVER. I've occasionally had their other slices which are 'standard', though Damiano (owner) did offer me a white artichoke with pesto he put together one day and it was terrific (though I haven't seen it again). Orsillo's is always busy at lunch and I would surmise that folks enjoy what they order as there are a lot of regulars. But trust me on this. Don't order a plain pie. Do the grandma's - full of roasted garlic, San Marzano tomatoes, and a couple of different cheeses. Pure heaven and you're thinking you're at LB Spumonis in NY. And I know my pizza as I live at the Shore (Monmouth) and we have plenty of thin crust classic Jersey pie (that doesn't mean Pete & Elda's either). I was disappointed by the pizza. The pizza I got was soooo salty. I am not sure what was going on. Its like they salted the pizza or something. Penne with Vodka sauce portion was meager. The wings were excellent on another note. The other reviews are so good that this experience seems to be odd. Maybe someone dropped the penne out of the container and knocked over a bucket of salt into my pie. I will try it once more to see if these things were a fluke. read more

This was our first visit so we went with a half-mushroom pie and an order of mozzarella sticks (based on a review read here). The mozz sticks were huge! Definitely homemade and easily twice the size you get at other pizza places. The marinara it came with was delicious and was a perfect pairing. The pizza on the other hand was very different than what you get elsewhere. They use very little marinara sauce to allow the toppings and cheese to shine. There was a lot of cheese, so much I checked to make sure we didn't order extra cheese. The cheese was much more milky than what were used to and had a subtle sweetness to it. Our guess is it was hand shredded and didn't come extra processed like most places get. Not sure if I will return for the pizza, but definitely am curious about their chicken parm sandwich. read more

I have loved this place since it was Dimeglios. Have met with the owners a few times and has to be my favorite pizza in town. The only down side is they are closed sundays. I don't really understand pizza in this town, just another average at best place. Friendly staff but the pizza is very greasy and lacks flavor. It's also a bit doughy and chewy, not really what pizza is suppose to be in my opinion. Maybe it's just this area, but aren't there any pizza places that serve a thinner pizza that isn't overly greasy and has some crisp to the crust ? Guess I've been spoiled with the North Jersey pizza, it's very different... PS, I also give them props for hiring local kids but they are all bunched up behind the counter and just seem to get in each others way and come across as confused to what's going on. We had quite a strange experience here Friday night. It was quite crowded, and the only available tables needed to be cleared. There don't seem to be any bussers there, and we had to wait for some time for one of the servers to clear, clean, and reset a table. When clearing the table, the server was not very fast, removing a couple items at a time and taking them to the kitchen, before coming back and removing a couple more items. This went on for a while, instead of using a tray, so it was not a quick process. The menu lacks descriptions of the salads, but I saw a garden salad listed, so I ordered it along with a cheesesteak. A garden salad is usually like a tossed salad with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrot, and possibly other garden vegetables. What they called a garden salad came on a fairly large oblong plate, with a bed of lettuce weighted down by a large pile of halved grape tomatoes, roasted red peppers, and topped with a bunch of small squares of American cheese. Seemed closer to an antipasto salad without the meat than a garden salad. It looked heavy, large, and not very appetizing. The blue cheese dressing I requested was basically a cup of mayonnaise with possibly a tiny bit of blue cheese, but it tasted like mayo to me more than anything. It was nothing like I expected for a garden salad, so I asked the server to take it back, that I was not happy with it. She took it, then returned to say it had been removed from our bill. I thanked her and said I really appreciated it. The cheesesteak was very good, and nice and hot when it came out. However, when I got to the end of the sandwich, the steak suddenly ended and the rest was chicken. I thought that was odd. When we got our bill, only part of the price of the salad had been taken off, and I got charged for a chicken cheesesteak, which was a dollar more, instead of a regular cheesesteak. Not wanting to argue the point, I accepted and paid the bill. However, I thought it was strange the way the whole thing was handled. All in all it was not a real pleasant experience. Although there are some things on their menu that are good, I think we'll stick with take-out on those items we like from now on. read more

I used to come here every day for a slice of pizza when I lived nearby and it was called Di Meglio's. After having several sub-par meals this week in different pizzerias and Italian restaurants, I had to come back here to restore my faith that decent pizza can be had easily and at a reasonable price. Guess what! It was as fabulous as I remembered it from many years ago. Bravo! The pizza crust was delicious, the sauce fresh with natural sweetness, and the cheeses great. Nobody makes crust so delicious. Even the grated cheese had a welcome sharpness that I'm not finding in other pizzerias any more. I drove out of my way to get there, but very happy I did. This review is based only on my visit yesterday, because in the past, their pizza and sandwiches were always pretty good. I got two orders of mozzarella sticks, which was almost $14. When I opened them up at home, all the pieces looked burnt, & even with dipping sauces, didn't taste like $6 mozzarella sticks. We were in the mood for good Italian food; we saw the reviews and were initially hesitant to go in because, although we like pizza, we weren't in the mood for it tonight. Also -- while I wasn't into a formal, high-brow restaurant, I didn't want to eat in a dumpy pizza joint (I didn't know what this was going to be like). Anyway, we decided to go and were glad that we did. The place is nice inside (not a 'dumpy pizza joint') - well-kept and modern - with the pizzeria seating area in the front and a small, 8-table dining room (w/ waitress service) in the back (5 tables on one side, 3 on the other). It's a dining room but it's informal - which is what I wanted. We ordered the chicken parm dinner. The bread that came out beforehand was fresh and tasty. The salad was good. The chicken parm was very good - thin breaded chicken that was moist (moist without the sauce which is important) and the sauce on the chicken parm and pasta was very good (pasta was very good). It was enough food to fill me up; the price was about $13 and change. Service: We were greeted warmly by two people (one is the owner?) and sat in the dining room. The waitress was very nice and 'down-to-earth'. Another person who worked there asked if the background music was too loud (frank sinatra, dean martin music playing in the background). On our way out, the owner (?) warmly thanked us for coming. All were very nice service touches. read more

Their pizza quality varies, but on the days where it is good, it is one of the better places in the area. I'm not sure if they have different cheese suppliers or if different people in-house make the cheese, but that seems to be the main difference that I notice. The Grandma pie is probably the best pizza there, but beware the kids they currently have working there have no clue how long to reheat it for so you'll need to check if it's cold before leaving with a to-go order. The fact that they consistently seem unaware that pizza isn't heated when they serve it makes me a bit nervous about their awareness of other food safety rules (like how long it can sit out), but I'm hoping the cooks in the back are more seasoned and enforce those rules. They are closed on Sundays, which is not out of the ordinary for independent places here. read more

My fiancé and I just moved in the area and we've eaten here 4 times already and absolutely love it! Everything is so fresh and prices are great. Tonight we had a crockpot dilemma so we decided to order from them and everything tasted great, nice sized portions and very fresh! Their garlic knots are amazing. I'm in love with their bruschetta slices (which are massive and so flavorful), my fiancé got the chipotle chicken panini tonight and it was delicious. We've tried salads and a grandma pie from them as well that we're pretty great too! Very friendly staff as well. Ordered three slices to go. 5 minutes later as I began to eat them, discovered that 2 of the slices were so undercooked that there was literally raw dough a third of the way into the slice. Both plain slices had so much grease they it poured in torrents onto my plate. The two words to describe this place are disgusting disappointment. I threw them away. read more
