Kebab Paradise is part of a corner strip of shops that looks better inside the restaurant, which features the nicest people and good food. I was there to order chicken and lamb kebabs with the carrot and raisin rice and a side salad and vinaigrette to go. The lady took my order and ensured it was wrapped up properly for the trip home. $22 and change was reasonable. Later in the evening at home, I was initially disappointed with the flavor of the chicken kebab chunks, which seemed a bit dry and with less than anticipated flavor. However,that was quickly remedied with the white sauce. The white sauce seems to be yogurt based, instead of mayonnaise, and it is the missing link, blending the flavors of the chicken and lamb with the carrot and raisin rice. The white sauce is essential and blends the flavors in a way I had not anticipated, but welcomed. The salad and vinaigrette that come with the meal were fresh and is the interior decor. The salad comprised lettuce greens, a slice of plum tomato, cucumber, and a few shreds of red onion, which, in combination with what is presumably a house made vinaigrette with lots of green herbs with a spicy kick, taste a little sweet. If you're in the area, this is a great place to stop for a good meal at a reasonable rate. My total came to $22 and change. Three and a half stars! read more

Everything can improve. Me and my family go to the Teaneck location very often, this location is an embarrassment. The woman at the register is SOOOO rude. She was not accommodating at all to any request given to her and was giving attitude to my entire family about everything we did. Regarding what drink we took, regarding getting hummus in our sandwich instead of tahini sauce, regarding a bowl we requested so we can split one of the 10 meals we bought. She was just so rude and unkind and acted out of character as a Muslim towards us even though we are all Muslims. I would not recommend going to this location. read more

It's not really a Paradise, but it's fine to dine here. We were the only white people in the restaurant for the entire 1.5 hours we were here--all the rest were from the Middle East. That's probably a good sign. Not sure why more white people don't come here--they were nice to us but I got the impression that we were a rare sighting. I got the Salmon plate with rice and vegetables. Salmon was okay--probably would not get it again--I don't think they excel in fish here. Maybe stick with the chicken or lamb. Others in my party liked their chicken/beef dishes. Prices are reasonable for the quality/quantity. I was glad that they were open late on Labor Day. Free and easy parking. Stand up to order and they bring it to you. I would not run to dine here again--but I would not discourage anyone else from dining here. I need a higher quality food product to dine out. read more

I have been here a few times it's hidden in a small strip mall in south bound Brook . They have quite a few large tables . We decided to bring our friends this time there Probably was about 17 of us. We all placed our orders at the counter and they give you a number to place on the table. They have a pretty large menu so it might be hard to decide what to get !! Platters, salads, sandwiches. We got the Kebab sampler and a few other things. The kebab platter was delicious full of flavor and a nice size portion. The hummus is a must try it was very smooth and great flavors . My coworkers wanted me to try this place because they said this place had amazing food. Customer service: They seemed very friendly and organized. Volcano Burger: The meat tasted a bit different but not my type of food. the fries that came with it had some kind of spicy sweet sauce and it tasted delicious. Chicken Gyro Platter: The chicken was cooked all the way and tasted good with the soft pita bread. I can do without the lettuce and tomatoes. It had a white sauce on it, I think it might have tasted better if it had hot sauce or ketchup instead. The French Fries: It had white sauce, mustard, and some kind of spice. This was a mixture of tastes but it was very good. Overall: I think the best thing about the food right now is the the french fries with the mixture of sauces. They will ask you if you want the raisins/carrots with it. If you like the sweet combo with your salty dish, I would recommend it. I ordered the mixed gyro platter (without the carrots and raisins) and I'm always happy with it. The mixed platter comes with chicken, lamb, vegetables, and what appears to be paneer pieces. When you order dine in they give you their bottle of white sauce which is good. The platter itself is flavorful with the chicken pieces with good flavor and the lamb that comes in the cubed up pieces. When I order dine in, the food usually comes out fast but I usually go around lunch time when it's quieter. The portions are generous and it's reasonably priced. I'd recommend this place. read more

Who doesn't love a kebab every now and then? I was introduced to this gem by my lovely dining partner who raved about the food here. We visited on a Friday night after a visit to Cyclone Brewery and the placed was packed! Definitely a good sign on a Friday night. I ordered the lamb chop kebab entree served with rice, veggies and a side salad. This proved to be plenty of food which I easily hate half of, saving the rest for lunch the following day. The restaurant staff was friendly and delivered the food super quick given how packed the place was. The cool thing about Kabab Paradise is that they also have a lot of American food including burgers, cheese steaks, subs, and quesadillas for your friends who may not be as adventurous. This place is located in a plaza with several different eateries around it. This place is reminisicent of the Halal guy carts in New york. I feel that the food was good, but nothing to write home about. The sambosas were overrated and over priced. The guy that took my order was nice, and my order was accurate. I didnt like the fact that they put little pieces of cut up pita on the platter. I would have rather had it on the side. Everything was seasoned and cooked well. Disappointing rice has no peppers carrots and raisins I called and they said I needed to enter a note asking for that. How would I know that - since the picture had it shown with it- looking all good and tasty. I called back to see if my husband could stop by for the correct rice - he asked Did you eat all the other rice? WOW. I said no because it isn't how I like it. I love this place so much! Their burgers are really different and such great combinations. They're all named after the planets but my favorite one is the Neptune Burger. It has crispy onion rings and sautéed mushrooms in and is smothered in some sort of white sauce. All in a sesame bun and it is sooo good. It's a little messy but sooo worth it. Their gyro platters are also fantastic, the rice feels so light and fragrant and Tis better than the rice in other platters I've had. there's also carrots and raisins in it, I believe it's afghani rice. Portions are huge, I can usually get two meals out of this. I ordered on Yelp and pick up was easy and food was ready when I got there even though I got there before the delivery window! read more

I've been here several times and I love to get the mixed platter. They're priced reasonable and you get a large amount. The meat (chicken, lamb, etc) is seasoned well and tender and the rice is soft and tastes great with the meat. I like white sauce with my platters and these guys make it good for the price. I haven't tried the burgers but they're also really good from what my friends have told me. Also reasonably priced! Definitely check this place out. read more

I really like this restaurant. They have been open for take out during the entire COVID pandemic and they have a very good system for distancing and packaging food for safety. They have of course a lot of Middle Eastern food choices as well as more 'American' fare like burgers. So you really should be able to find a meal for the whole family. In Somerset / Bounds Brook there are a few interesting places to eat. This is one of them...it's an Afghan place so it's halal. And the Thurs night I went it was packed with 3 Afghan groups. All the food is cooked fresh so it may take a few mins to get your kebabs. And why order burgers in this place when you can get a kebab combo?! The chicken kebab is so juicy and flavorful and the lamb is meaty. The raisins on the rice might not be to your liking but they can leave that off. The salad is really dull compared to the rest of the meal, but the panini bread and spicy, vinegary dip is great. I had enough left for lunch the next day, but if you're hungry the combo kebab $15 is what you need. I asked the owner what he recommended and that's what he pointed to. It happened to be the most expensive on the menu. What a great businessman! :) read more

So delicious. I did the falafel platter with rice and raisins. The falafel was cook to perfection, and rice with raisins is now a favorite of mine. I'd never been to an Afghan restaurant before and was throughly impressed by the wonderful food. The staff is very friendly. I dined in. My friend suggested I buy the green tea next time because it has hints of cardamom in it. I also ordered a to go meal and they kindly brought it over after we finished dinning. It was a full house while we were there which was a give away that there was going to be good food. As people left more and more people were coming in to eat. This has made my Jersey top restaurant list. If you are in the area go here. I recommend reheating left overs in the oven! read more

One of my favorite spots is Kabab Paradise. However not all Kabab Paradise are created equal. And while this establishment appears to be quite popular, when I compare it to the other locations. This location lacked with regards to quality and flavor. I always get the same platters and had the chance to compare theirs to the other 2 locations. The lamb was soft partially mushy with little to no seasoning. The chicken was also under seasoned. The rice with raisins and carrots lacked sweetness. However I would still recommend supporting them as they are a small local halal community business, and this was a one time visit for me. read more

Trying to expand my Afghani food experiences, me and my sister decided to stop by Kabab Paradise. For our appetizers, we chose the Bolani and Kadoo Qorma. Kabab Paradise's version of both dishes were nice and worthy of ordering again. The Bolani's skin was crisp and really fried nicely, and inside was a nice roughly chopped filling of potato, onions, and other spices. The Kadoo Qorma was the better of the two appetizers. The light seasoning allowed the pumpkin's flavor to really stand out, offering a fresh and light taste with each bite. We both enjoyed this dish a lot. We both really liked the starter salad served with the entrees which was really fresh and had some some different vegetables like arugula and sliced tomato. The side sauces provided, typical of most Afghan restaurants, were the green cilantro sauce and the ever famous Afghan "white" sauce. Kabab Paradise's green sauce was a little watery compared to other Afghan restaurants I've tried, but the flavor was both herbaceous and had a pleasant light sweetness. However, the "white" sauce was pedestrian, leaning way more to the taste of mayonnaise (rich and a tad sweet) compared to the more sour taste of yogurt. I ordered the Sultani Kebab (a combo of Beef Kufta and Lamb Shish) entree and it was solid. The Beef Kufta was good, well seasoned with a noticeably good cumin and parsley flavor. My knock on it was it was a bit dry. Lamb Shish cubes were also a bit dry and tough, but as with the Kufta; the flavor was very good with nice seasoning. What made this entree really enjoyable was the Afghani rice (Kabuli Pulao) which was excellent. The rice was cooked to a nice texture (with just a bit of bite), had a nice flavor of light spices, and the carrot & raisin combo really added a hint of sweetness. My sister chose the Chicken Chapli entree and it was very good. Immediately, she was pleased with the large size of the two Chapli patties; each occupying nearly 75% of the plate's area. The Chapli was seasoned aggressively, and being Chicken, the extra level of spice was welcomed. She shared a good sized piece of the Chapli with me, and I could taste fresh cumin and turmeric. She also shared the same positive opinions on the Afghani rice. I have to mention the bread served by Kabab Paradise. Bread in Afghani culture is a big deal, and Kabab Paradise's bread was pretty good. Though not the best Afghani bread I've eaten, what made the bread so addicting was the small packets of butter supplied in the bread basket. Both me and my sister could not stop eating the bread after applying a generous amount of the butter. I give Kabab Paradise a solid 3.5, so averaging up it's 4 stars for me. read more
