I've lived in this neighborhood for about 8 years now, and have been using this place exclusively during that time. Originally, this was San Fernando Brake and Tire, but I guess a couple (or maybe now a few?) years back the family that owned it retired and sold the business. Fortunately, the new owners haven't missed a beat. Every interaction with them and every job I have taken them has been done fast, executed well, and at a reasonable price. You can't ask for much more. The only minor criticism I have is that whenever I have called them after it became Pibes, they answer the phone simply with, 'Hello?', which always has me wondering if I have misdialed and gotten some random residence. It shouldn't be a big deal to train oneself to identify the business in the greeting, 'Hello, Pibes Automotive' or some such. Pretty minor and definitely not worthy of a star loss, just a general note. read more

The worst auto shop experience ever. I was recommended by a friend who had gone here previously and had a good experience. I came in for an alignment and two brake pads A WEEK AGO TODAY. They said we needed all four brake pads fixed and the lower arm control. Since the other two brake pads and lower arm control was an unexpected repair they offered us a free alignment. Right off the bat we were content with the customer satisfaction. 2-3 hours I finally get my car. Before I get on the freeway to go home I begin to hear a knocking noise from the brakes that was never there before our visit. They make us came back the next day to "fix" it. Still never got our alignment done that day as well. We told them that we weren't content with the work and they said they fix it. Again the next day we tell them our brakes weren't working and the alignment wasn't done properly. Keep in mind we've already reached the 3rd day and still no obvious repairs made. After the 3rd day passes and we still see no results we decide to go for the last time and 4TH TIME. Because again no alignment done, the brake pads feel like nothing got done. Extremely fragile & making a grinding noise any time we press down on the brakes. They were completely aware that the car they were working on was for a 20 year old female. (My car) We come back again TODAY for the fourth and final time. They tell us for the brakes and alignment it will be 2-3 hours. So we got there right at 8:30 when they opened and left our car there, around 11:30 we come back and still wait patiently. Finally at 1pm we get an update that the brake pads were done and they were going to start working on the alignment now. But at that point I asked why it was barely being done if we dropped off our car at 8:30 and they promised us a certain time frame. Also that they wouldn't have needed to do it NOW if it was done right the first 3 times we came. funny to say the owner of the shop decides to raise his voice at me in front my significant other saying that I can't rush the work and that if I didn't have time I shouldn't have came in and what else did he want me to do? (In a very sarcastic manner) Keep in mind this is the owner speaking to a 20 year old female like this. I paid upfront the FIRST VISIT last Friday and I still had to come back an additional 3 times because they couldn't do the job right. I wasn't asking for much. All I wanted was my car fixed. I utilize my car a lot for work and at that point it felt unsafe for me to drive. We told them that SEVERAL TIMES. We live 30 minutes away, we work 3 different jobs / have a very busy schedule. I took a small amount of the spare time I have to come out here for their "service". in total we spent 4 days coming back for the same service. Each visit we waited around 3-5 hours. (EACH DAY) and truthfully we would of gone to another mechanic shop after the 1st visit but we had already paid them. I don't have the money to drop another $600 out of my ass because their lack of work. Right after we left the shop we saw our psi light on. We definitely were going back to that shop so we went to a tire shop. They left a gash and an air bubble in our front tire and couldn't tell us. they literally took apart the car. Again that issue wasn't there when we came. Nor was the light on and as a mechanic if you truly care about your work and customer they would of notified us. all for supporting small business but not when they're taking advantage of young people. I came to this shop looking for help rather they made the issue worst. Shame on y'all. I wouldn't recommend anyone wasting their time as much as we did with this shop. 2 months ago, my brakes were squeaking pretty bad so I went to Pibe's to get a brake inspection. They said nothing was wrong with them, but I can get them changed if I wanted to. I waited another month and got them changed and the rotors resurfaced for $165. The next day on my way to work, I pressed the brake and my whole car started to vibrate, especially the steering wheel! This has never happened to my car before. Now, whenever I brake, it makes a really bad squealing noise that's even worse than before. I'm not going to drive my car anymore until I'm able to take it to a different brake shop where the people can actually let me know why my brakes are squeaking. That's $165 down the drain! read more
