My favorite fried chicken spot. I just wish they would open on weekends! It's difficult for me to get over there on a weekday.

The chicken is good but the owner is rude, especially to women. I'm NEVER going there again.

They have been featured on Food Network's "Diners, Drive In's, and Dives" and have the pictures with Guy Fieri prominently displayed to prove it. The interior is eclectic, which is comforting. While BBQ is the main emphasis here, there are a number of other things on the menu. One of these that's really popular is the seafood stuffed potatoes. These are gigantic baked potatoes that come with shrimp or catfish, with our without crawfish étouffée. Seafood is a definite option here, and one can have it on Friday or any other day. But let's discuss the BBQ. They have smoked turkey that's never dry, and this is great in a sandwich or plate. The smoked wings are another favorite of mine. Then there is the smoked meatloaf, which is great in po-boy form. The ribs and brisket are also very worthy options. I think a two meat plate is a good way to enjoy the BBQ as it allows variety in tasting! Then one has to be pleased by the wide selection of sides. Variety is always great, especially when it includes uncommonly great options like fried green beans, red beans and rice, and Cajun Dirty Rice. One can always get coleslaw and beans if you are a fan of the classics. They even have desserts, if one has any room left for them. I rarely do...

For appetizers, we had the cachapas with pork which were delicious. Recommended app for sure! My wife had an Indian curry with cabbage, purple rice, chick peas and spinach-wow!!!!!! Probably the creamiest tasting curry ever! You could add a protein but wifey went with the vegetarian option and it was great! It wasn't perfect bc there were some chick peas that weren't cooked all the way and were crunchy I went with the mussels in a pesto cream sauce with potatoes and it was sooooo delicious!!! Again not perfect as some mussels had that sandy/gritty taste which I didn't like it most of the them were fine. The ambience here is great! The owner really has thought out every detail to make sure you have an amazing experience. From the decor, music, staff-you can tell there was a a lot of thought, care and love put into it. Our server was very attentive and made great recommendations. Ima Florida boy through and through, but anytime I'm in Louisiana, I will definitely make it a point to stop in for another great food adventure!!!

It came warm in a giant cappuccino mug and I don't even think she steamed the milk (the picture is actually how it came, I didn't touch it yet). They pride themselves on their coffee and I was impressed that they even had a flat white on the menu so I had high hopes. I also ordered the poached egg on the biscuit which came out as a hard boiled egg on top of a stale biscuit. I asked for an egg that wasn't " hard-boiled" and guess what came back on top... a mini quiche. I could see the confusion though, the cook probably thought that I wanted an egg prepared a different way than before. Anyway, the cheese on it wasn't even melted and the arugula was slimy like cooked spinach. Coffee egg cheese biscuit arugula . The only thing I ate was the old dry bacon. One out of five elements of that was edible. On another note, the atmosphere is very nice and it has a cool vibe. It has a really good potential, just poorly executed.

We took our mom here for her birthday in early June. The service was okay at this restaurant. There was nothing that stood out in particular about the service, it was pretty average. The food at this restaurant all tasted great. I tried their fried green tomatoes appetizer as well as their golden fried alligator which was delicious. I got the jerk fried chicken with red beans and rice and smoked sausage for my entree and it was good. I was expecting my chicken to be spicy or to at least taste like jerk seasoning but it didn't at all. It was more like a BBQ sauce with no heat at all. The menu was also very lacking to me, we all felt that it was missing items or needed more. I wish there was more of a variety of items to choose from especially for those allergic to shellfish or vegetarian.
