So right in the middle of the brunch rush. We were quoted a35 minute wait but was seated sooner. We ordered lunch. I got the chicken pot pie my partner got the bbq bayou burger and we split an order of the crawfish pie with red beans and rice. Both plates were served with a salad. Service was great! Jack was our server. He made some excellent recommendations!! The chicken pot pie had a kick to if so fyi....Everything was delicious!! Turns out we got and order of the boudin pie instead of the crawfish pie but it was delicious! He did bring us out a crawfish pie to try (not pictured) and it was also excellent!! The red beans and rice were the best I've had. And I've done a red beans and rice tour in NOLA and this was the best I've had!! We rounded out our meal with the Eye of the Tiger pie. And holey moley!!! The best finish to our meal!! They also have a great craft beer selection on draft. The only downside to this place is the parking is not great and there are only two bathrooms that are unisex. But heck....I'll be back every time I visit BR!!

I love that they offer a variety of boards you can share, and their drink options are great too. You can sit inside or outside, and they even have live music on some nights, which adds to the atmosphere. The service has always been great every time I've gone. They also have the cutest merchandise available for purchase. It's a great place for date night, hanging out with friends, celebrating birthdays or anniversaries, or just spending time with family. Highly recommend!

When you read the reviews below, most people know what this restaurant is and how it works. My…read moreresponse is less harsh about the service or it's overpriced charcuterie board concept. I have lived in BR for 6 years now. Many departments at LSU take guests there and in that time, Building 5 has done nothing to improve its parking lot. The restaurant sits underneath an overpass and the parking is pothole marked unpaved gravel. This means that there is no room for wheelchairs or accommodations for anyone who is differently-abled to get into the restaurant. The whole restaurant makes no room for handicapped persons. On the occasion I did get food, the food is slightly overpriced. All meats were cooked adequately but the food was lukewarm probably owing to sitting in the kitchen under the heat lamp than being delivered promptly. When I have gone, I regularly have to ask for refills on soda as I am the designated driver often for department functions. Servers pay you no heed if you do not buy alcohol. Because I go here because of academic reasons, I would barely go here myself. I've been here many times and found it wanting. It's an ableist place in its infrastructure. It's fine I'm atmosphere as a cocktail bar but would little recommend it to people I call friend.

We took our mom here for her birthday in early June. The service was okay at this restaurant. There was nothing that stood out in particular about the service, it was pretty average. The food at this restaurant all tasted great. I tried their fried green tomatoes appetizer as well as their golden fried alligator which was delicious. I got the jerk fried chicken with red beans and rice and smoked sausage for my entree and it was good. I was expecting my chicken to be spicy or to at least taste like jerk seasoning but it didn't at all. It was more like a BBQ sauce with no heat at all. The menu was also very lacking to me, we all felt that it was missing items or needed more. I wish there was more of a variety of items to choose from especially for those allergic to shellfish or vegetarian.

The standout for me was the veggie fried rice. It had great flavor, and I'd honestly come back for that alone. The Snake Wrangler drink was also a favorite. The only downside was the hot honey. It was very light on both the wings and the bao bun, so the flavor didn't come through as much as expected. Service was efficient and attentive. It's a nice, quaint spot with a cozy patio and indoor seating. Still a solid happy hour option, and I'd definitely return.

Try one and they are stone cold but good flavor. I asked Courtney the server if they were meant to be served room temperature (first time having so wasn't Sure). She takes the whole bowl. A nice little bit later my bowl is returned just as my tikka masala queso Is arriving. From the looks of my bowl and the broth it was nuked. Heated in the microwave which was annoying bc I wanted to try these fresh for the first time and also more importantly I ordered them with intentions of eating 2 now and taking the other 3 to go so I could enjoy my queso there. Dumplings can't and shouldn't reheated multiple times over and especially not even once at the restaurant that's serving them. I was honestly just hoping they would have dropped a fresh hot spoon or two of the broth : sauce they were in. Very upsetting for the evening because I was excited to try something new

Solid Breakfast, especially when it is free…read more This is the hotel restaurant in the Baton Rouge Marriott. Since I stay here yearly for our work Christmas Party, I have become fond of this hotel for several reasons. I don't like that the lounge is closed on weekends, but I do like that status members (platinum and above) get a voucher for a free breakfast. That makes this a great deal for me. At around 30-35 per person, otherwise, it may not be a great deal for you (Louie's isn't that far away). Breakfast here is either buffet style or order off of the menu. The buffet has many different options, including the standards. The eggs are good, the potatoes are very good, and the meats are also very good. There is hot sauce available, and service is always friendly and prompt. Best news? The voucher covers gratuity as well! Note: The bar is also great. There is a solid selection of beer and bourbon. Expect to pay hotel prices, but after all, you are at a hotel. Shout out to the super friendly artenders!

It was a littler saucier than I would have wanted, but the flavor was good and the portion generous. Kiddo had the margherita pizza. It was more of a flatbread and a little soggy. Not for me, but the kid enjoyed it and portion was huge. Hubs had the zydeco pasta. He really liked it, but the chicken was a little dry. Had a nice smoky flavor, though. For dessert we shared the turtle molten chocolate cake. It was ok. Needed a scoop of ice cream and more lava. Service was friendly. Overall, it's a good bet if you're close by, but probably not a destination. *Sorry all my photos were taken mid meal. Didn't think about reviewing until we were half done eating.

It's nestled into a strip mall on Highland Road near its junction with Boyd. This area has ample surface parking. The interior is simple and contemporary, allowing diners to focus on the menu. Indian cuisine can be complex, and there are a lot of choices offered. However, the menu does a good job of explaining the dishes and their ingredients. It's fun to try out different things and learn about new dishes that one might like. I'm trying to break out of the habit of always trying a dish I'm familiar with. In my last visit I ordered Chicken Masala Noodles which is definitely different. Can't say as I have ever had an Indian pasta dish before. The service is both subdued and attentive, which is classy. (Not the Indian spicy which is considered "very spicy") & it was perfect in every way. The sauce is not sweet like butter chicken but reminded me of chicken 65 flavors as it was also served with a slice of lemon and topped with purple onions. The biryani (seasoned) basmati rice was added flavor. I'll definitely be back for this again. The portion was enough for 2 servings. Oh it came with a side or carrot & onion raita ( homemade yogurt) to help cool off the mouth when eating a spicy dish.I love raita and I would have enjoyed more of it but it was a nice surprise. I didnt order naan (as the rice was filling enough as a starch) but next time I will because why not.

It came warm in a giant cappuccino mug and I don't even think she steamed the milk (the picture is actually how it came, I didn't touch it yet). They pride themselves on their coffee and I was impressed that they even had a flat white on the menu so I had high hopes. I also ordered the poached egg on the biscuit which came out as a hard boiled egg on top of a stale biscuit. I asked for an egg that wasn't " hard-boiled" and guess what came back on top... a mini quiche. I could see the confusion though, the cook probably thought that I wanted an egg prepared a different way than before. Anyway, the cheese on it wasn't even melted and the arugula was slimy like cooked spinach. Coffee egg cheese biscuit arugula . The only thing I ate was the old dry bacon. One out of five elements of that was edible. On another note, the atmosphere is very nice and it has a cool vibe. It has a really good potential, just poorly executed.
